Abstract

Let S be a numerical semigroup and let I be a relative ideal of S. Let S ? I denote the dual of I and let μ S (?) represent the size of a minimal generating set. We investigate the inequality μ S (I S (S ? I) ≥ μ S (I + (S ? I)) under the assumption that S has multiplicity 8. We will show that if I is non-principal, then the strict inequality μ S (I S (S ? I) > μ S (I + (S ? I)) always holds.  相似文献

Abstract

Let Sing n be the semigroup of all singular full transformations on the set X n  = {1, 2,…, n} under the composition of functions. Let E(J n ? 1) be the set of all idempotents of the top 𝒥-class J n ? 1 = {α ∈ Sing n :|im α| = n-1}. For any nonempty subset I of E(J n  ? 1), the aim of this paper is to find a constructive necessary and sufficient condition for the semiband S(I) = ?I? to be ?-trivial. Further, the semiband S(I) is locally maximal ?-trivial if S(I) is ?-trivial and S(I ∪ {e}) is not ?-trivial for any e ∈ E(J n ? 1 )\I. As applications, we classify locally maximal ?-trivial subsemibands and locally maximal regular ?-trivial subsemibands of Sing n , respectively. Moreover, the characterization of which S(I) is a band is obtained.

Abstract

For an ideal I of a Noetherian local ring (R, m ) we consider properties of I and its powers as reflected in the fiber cone F(I) of I. In particular,we examine behavior of the fiber cone under homomorphic image R → R/J = R′ as related to analytic spread and generators for the kernel of the induced map on fiber cones ψ J  : F R (I) → F R(IR′). We consider the structure of fiber cones F(I) for which ker ψ J  ≠ 0 for each nonzero ideal J of R. If dim F(I) = d > 0,μ(I) = d + 1 and there exists a minimal reduction J of I generated by a regular sequence,we prove that if grade(G +(I)) ≥ d ? 1,then F(I) is Cohen-Macaulay and thus a hypersurface.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Let R be a commutative ring with nonzero identity and let I be an ideal of R. The zero-divisor graph of R with respect to I, denoted by Γ I (R), is the graph whose vertices are the set {x ? R\I | xy ? I for some y ? R\I} with distinct vertices x and y adjacent if and only if xy ? I. In the case I = 0, Γ0(R), denoted by Γ(R), is the zero-divisor graph which has well known results in the literature. In this article we explore the relationship between Γ I (R) ? Γ J (S) and Γ(R/I) ? Γ(S/J). We also discuss when Γ I (R) is bipartite. Finally we give some results on the subgraphs and the parameters of Γ I (R).  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with identity. Various generalizations of prime ideals have been studied. For example, a proper ideal I of R is weakly prime (resp., almost prime) if a, b ∈ R with ab ∈ I ? {0} (resp., ab ∈ I ? I 2) implies a ∈ I or b ∈ I. Let φ:?(R) → ?(R) ∪ {?} be a function where ?(R) is the set of ideals of R. We call a proper ideal I of R a φ-prime ideal if a, b ∈ R with ab ∈ I ? φ(I) implies a ∈ I or b ∈ I. So taking φ?(J) = ? (resp., φ0(J) = 0, φ2(J) = J 2), a φ?-prime ideal (resp., φ0-prime ideal, φ2-prime ideal) is a prime ideal (resp., weakly prime ideal, almost prime ideal). We show that φ-prime ideals enjoy analogs of many of the properties of prime ideals.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with nonzero identity and Z(R) its set of zero-divisors. The zero-divisor graph of R is Γ(R), with vertices Z(R)?{0} and distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if xy = 0. For a proper ideal I of R, the ideal-based zero-divisor graph of R is Γ I (R), with vertices {x ∈ R?I | xy ∈ I for some y ∈ R?I} and distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if xy ∈ I. In this article, we study the relationship between the two graphs Γ(R) and Γ I (R). We also determine when Γ I (R) is either a complete graph or a complete bipartite graph and investigate when Γ I (R) ? Γ(S) for some commutative ring S.  相似文献

This paper studies the behavior under iteration of the maps T ab (x,y) = (F ab (x) ? y, x) of the plane ?2, in which F ab (x) = ax if x ≥ 0 and bx if x < 0. These maps are area-preserving homeomorphisms of ?2 that map rays from the origin to rays from the origin. Orbits of the map correspond to solutions of the nonlinear difference equation x n+2 = 1/2(a ? b)|x n+1|+1/2(a+b)x n+1 ? x n . This difference equation can be rewritten in an eigenvalue form for a nonlinear difference operator of Schrödinger type ? x n+2+2x n+1 ? x n +V μ(x n+1)x n+1 = Ex n+1, in which μ = (1/2)(a ? b) is fixed, and V μ(x) = μ(sgn(x)) is an antisymmetric step function potential, and the energy E = 2 ? 1/2(a+b). We study the set Ω SB of parameter values where the map T ab has at least one bounded orbit, which correspond to l -eigenfunctions of this difference operator. The paper shows that for transcendental μ the set Spec[μ] of energy values E having a bounded solution is a Cantor set. Numerical simulations suggest the possibility that these Cantor sets have positive (one-dimensional) measure for all real values of μ.  相似文献

Let (S,𝔫) be a 2-dimensional regular local ring and let I = (f, g) be an ideal in S generated by a regular sequence f, g of length two. Let I* be the leading ideal of I in the associated graded ring gr𝔫(S), and set R = S/I and 𝔪 = 𝔫/I. In Goto et al. (2007 Goto , S. , Heinzer , W. , Kim , M.-K. ( 2007 ). The leading ideal of a complete intersection of height two, II . J. Algebra 312 : 709732 . [Google Scholar]), we prove that if μ G (I*) = n, then I* contains a homogeneous system {ξ i }1≤in of generators such that deg ξ i  + 2 ≤ deg ξ i+1 for 2 ≤ i ≤ n ? 1, and ht G 1, ξ2,…, ξ n?1) = 1, and we describe precisely the Hilbert series H(gr𝔪(R), λ) in terms of the degrees c i of the ξ i and the integers d i , where d i is the degree of D i  = GCD(ξ1,…, ξ i ). To the complete intersection ideal I = (f, g)S we associate a positive integer n with 2 ≤ n ≤ c 1 + 1, an ascending sequence of positive integers (c 1, c 2,…, c n ), and a descending sequence of integers (d 1 = c 1, d 2,…, d n  = 0) such that c i+1 ? c i  > d i?1 ? d i  > 0 for each i with 2 ≤ i ≤ n ? 1. We establish here that this necessary condition is also sufficient for there to exist a complete intersection ideal I = (f, g) whose leading ideal has these invariants. We give several examples to illustrate our theorems.  相似文献

Let R denote a two-dimensional normal standard-graded K-domain over the algebraic closure K of a finite field of characteristic p, and let I ? R denote a homogeneous R +-primary ideal. We prove that the Hilbert–Kunz function of I has the form ? (q) = e HK (I)q 2 + γ(q) with rational Hilbert–Kunz multiplicity e HK (I) and an eventually periodic function γ(q).  相似文献

For a monoid S, the set S × S equipped with the componentwise right S-action is called the diagonal act of S and is denoted by D(S). A monoid S is a left PP (left PSF) monoid if every principal left ideal of S is projective (strongly flat). We shall call a monoid S left P(P) if all principal left ideals of S satisfy condition (P). We shall call a monoid S weakly left P(P) monoid if the equalities as = bs, xb = yb in S imply the existence of r ∈ S such that xar = yar, rs = s. In this article, we prove that a monoid S is left PSF if and only if S is (weakly) left P(P) and D(S) is principally weakly flat. We provide examples showing that the implications left PSF ? left P(P) ? weakly left P(P) are strict. Finally, we investigate regularity of diagonal acts D(S), and we prove that for a right PP monoid S the diagonal act D(S) is regular if and only if every finite product of regular acts is regular. Furthermore, we prove that for a full transformation monoid S = 𝒯 X , D(S) is regular.  相似文献

For any field 𝕂 and integer n ≥ 2, we consider the Leavitt algebra L 𝕂(n); for any integer d ≥ 1, we form the matrix ring S = M d (L 𝕂(n)). S is an associative algebra, but we view S as a Lie algebra using the bracket [a, b] = ab ? ba for a, b ∈ S. We denote this Lie algebra as S ?, and consider its Lie subalgebra [S ?, S ?]. In our main result, we show that [S ?, S ?] is a simple Lie algebra if and only if char(𝕂) divides n ? 1 and char(𝕂) does not divide d. In particular, when d = 1, we get that [L 𝕂(n)?, L 𝕂(n)?] is a simple Lie algebra if and only if char(𝕂) divides n ? 1.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with identity. Let φ: S(R) → S(R) ∪ {?} be a function, where S(R) is the set of ideals of R. Suppose n ≥ 2 is a positive integer. A nonzero proper ideal I of R is called (n ? 1, n) ? φ-prime if, whenever a 1, a 2, ?, a n  ∈ R and a 1 a 2?a n  ∈ I?φ(I), the product of (n ? 1) of the a i 's is in I. In this article, we study (n ? 1, n) ? φ-prime ideals (n ≥ 2). A number of results concerning (n ? 1, n) ? φ-prime ideals and examples of (n ? 1, n) ? φ-prime ideals are also given. Finally, rings with the property that for some φ, every proper ideal is (n ? 1, n) ? φ-prime, are characterized.  相似文献

A weak Cayley table isomorphism is a bijection φ: G → H of groups such that φ(xy) ~ φ(x)φ(y) for all x, y ∈ G. Here ~denotes conjugacy. When G = H the set of all weak Cayley table isomorphisms φ: G → G forms a group 𝒲(G) that contains the automorphism group Aut(G) and the inverse map I: G → G, x → x ?1. Let 𝒲0(G) = ?Aut(G), I? ≤ 𝒲(G) and say that G has trivial weak Cayley table group if 𝒲(G) = 𝒲0(G). We show that all finite irreducible Coxeter groups (except possibly E 8) have trivial weak Cayley table group, as well as most alternating groups. We also consider some sporadic simple groups.  相似文献

We consider the meromorphic operator-valued function I ? K(z) = I ? A(z)/z where A is holomorphic on the domain 𝒟 ? ?, and has values in the class of compact operators acting in a given Hilbert space. Under the assumption that A(0) is a selfadjoint operator which can be of infinite rank, we study the distribution near the origin of the characteristic values of I ? K, i.e. the complex numbers w ≠ 0 for which the operator I ? K(w) is not invertible, and we show that generically the characteristic values of I ? K converge to 0 with the same rate as the eigenvalues of A(0).

We apply our abstract results to the investigation of the resonances of the operator H = H 0 + V where H 0 is the shifted 3D Schrödinger operator with constant magnetic field of scalar intensity b > 0, and V: ?3 → ? is the electric potential which admits a suitable decay at infinity. It is well known that the spectrum σ(H 0) of H 0 is purely absolutely continuous, coincides with [0, + ∞[, and the so-called Landau levels 2bq with integer q ≥ 0, play the role of thresholds in σ(H 0). We study the asymptotic distribution of the resonances near any given Landau level, and under generic assumptions obtain the main asymptotic term of the corresponding resonance counting function, written explicitly in the terms of appropriate Toeplitz operators.  相似文献

Let R be a ring with identity. We call a family ? of left ideals of R a Zassenhaus family if the only additive endomorphisms of R that leave all members of ? invariant are the left multiplications by elements of R. Moreover, if R is torsion-free and there is some left R-module M such that R ? M ? R??? and End ?(M) = R we call R a “Zassenhaus ring”. It is well known that all Zassenhaus rings have Zassenhaus families. We will give examples to show that the converse does not hold even for torsion-free rings of finite rank.  相似文献

Given rings R ? S, consider the division closure 𝒟(R, S) and the rational closure ?(R, S) of R in S. If S is commutative, then 𝒟(R, S) = ?(R, S) = RT ?1, where T = {t ∈ R | t ?1 ∈ S}. We show that this is also true if we assume only that R is commutative.  相似文献

A subset S of some vector space X is said to be outer Γ-convex w.r.t. some given balanced subset Γ ? X if for all x 0, x 1 ? S there exists a closed subset Λ ? [0,1] such that {x λ | λ ? Λ} ? S and [x 0, x 1] ? {x λ | λ ? Λ} + 0.5 Γ, where x λ: = (1 ? λ)x 0 + λ x 1. A real-valued function f:D → ? defined on some convex D ? X is called outer Γ-convex if for all x 0, x 1 ? D there exists a closed subset Λ ? [0,1] such that [x 0, x 1] ? {x λ | λ ? Λ} + 0.5 Γ and f(x λ) ≤ (1 ? λ)f(x 0) + λ f(x 1) holds for all λ ? Λ. Outer Γ-convex functions possess some similar optimization properties as these of convex functions, e.g., lower level sets of outer Γ-convex functions are outer Γ-convex and Γ-local minimizers are global minimizers. Some properties of outer Γ-convex sets and functions are presented, among others a simplex property of outer Γ-convex sets, which is applied for establishing a separation theorem and for proving the existence of modified subgradients of outer Γ-convex functions.  相似文献
