In this paper, we propose a smoothing Levenberg-Marquardt method for the symmetric cone complementarity problem. Based on a smoothing function, we turn this problem into a system of nonlinear equations and then solve the equations by the method proposed. Under the condition of Lipschitz continuity of the Jacobian matrix and local error bound, the new method is proved to be globally convergent and locally superlinearly/quadratically convergent. Numerical experiments are also employed to show that the method is stable and efficient.

The recent designed non-linear conjugate gradient method of Dai and Kou [SIAM J Optim. 2013;23:296–320] is very efficient currently in solving large-scale unconstrained minimization problems due to its simpler iterative form, lower storage requirement and its closeness to the scaled memoryless BFGS method. Just because of these attractive properties, this method was extended successfully to solve higher dimensional symmetric non-linear equations in recent years. Nevertheless, its numerical performance in solving convex constrained monotone equations has never been explored. In this paper, combining with the projection method of Solodov and Svaiter, we develop a family of non-linear conjugate gradient methods for convex constrained monotone equations. The proposed methods do not require the Jacobian information of equations, and even they do not store any matrix in each iteration. They are potential to solve non-smooth problems with higher dimensions. We prove the global convergence of the class of the proposed methods and establish its R-linear convergence rate under some reasonable conditions. Finally, we also do some numerical experiments to show that the proposed methods are efficient and promising.  相似文献

Symmetric methods (SS methods) of the secant type are proposed for systems of equations with symmetric Jacobian matrix. The SSI and SS2 methods generate sequences of symmetric matrices J and H which approximate the Jacobian matrix and inverse one, respectively. Rank-two quasi-Newton formulas for updating J and H are derived. The structure of the approximations J and H is better than the structure of the corresponding approximations in the traditional secant method because the SS methods take into account symmetry of the Jacobian matrix. Furthermore, the new methods retain the main properties of the traditional secant method, namely, J and H are consistent approximations to the Jacobian matrix; the SS methods converge superlinearly; the sequential (n + 1)-point SS methods have the R-order at least equal to the positive root of tn+1-1=0.  相似文献

This study presents a novel adaptive trust-region method for solving symmetric nonlinear systems of equations. The new method uses a derivative-free quasi-Newton formula in place of the exact Jacobian. The global convergence and local quadratic convergence of the new method are established without the nondegeneracy assumption of the exact Jacobian. Using the compact limited memory BFGS, we adapt a version of the new method for solving large-scale problems and develop the dogleg scheme for solving the associated trust-region subproblems. The sufficient decrease condition for the adapted dogleg scheme is established. While the efficiency of the present trust-region approach can be improved by using adaptive radius techniques, utilizing the compact limited memory BFGS adjusts this approach to handle large-scale symmetric nonlinear systems of equations. Preliminary numerical results for both medium- and large-scale problems are reported.  相似文献

利用Fischer-Burmeister函数将混合互补问题转化为非线性方程组,由光滑函数逼近FB函数来求解非线性方程组.文中将信赖域方法和梯度法相结合,提出了Jacobian光滑化方法.算法在一定条件下的全局收敛性得到了证明,数值试验表明算法切实有效,有一定的优越性.  相似文献

§1.引言 考虑非线性方程组 F(x)=0, (1)其中F:Ω?R~n→R~n使F′(x)对称.本文给出求解(1)的一种分解修正法,这种方法始于Jacobian F′(x)的初始对称三角分解,然后利用换元技巧直接修正上三角分解因子,进而前代与回代求迭代点.本文分析了分解修正法的运算量,证明了这个算法不用重新启动仍具有局部超线性收敛性和大范围收敛性.此外,这个算法自然保持分解因子的稀疏传递性和修正矩阵的对称传递性,特别当Jacobian正定时,还具有正定传递性.由此本文完成了[1]和[2]无法完成的工作.本算法特别适于大规模带状方程组和最优化问题,数值例子也表明了这一点.  相似文献

Under the assumption of semi-smoothness of the mapping, we prove that the approximation can be obtained through the Clarke generalized Jacobian, Ioffe-Ralph generalized Jacobian, B-subdifferential and their approximations. As an application, we propose a generalized Newton’s method based on the point-based set-valued approximation for solving nonsmooth equations. We show that the proposed method converges locally superlinearly without the assumption of semi-smoothness. Finally we include some well-known generalized Newton’s methods in our method and consolidate the convergence results of these methods. Inspired by some implicit-explicit linear multistep schemes and additive Runge-Kutta methods, we develop a novel split Newton iterative algorithm for the numerical solution of nonlinear equations. The proposed method improves computational efficiency by reducing the computational cost of the Jacobian matrix. Consistency and global convergence of the new method are also maintained. To test its effectiveness, we apply the method to nonlinear reaction-diffusion equations, such as Burger’s-Huxley equation and fisher’s equation. Numerical examples suggest that the involved iterative method is much faster than the classical Newton’s method on a given time interval.  相似文献

In this paper, we present two partitioned quasi-Newton methods for solving partially separable nonlinear equations. When the Jacobian is not available, we propose a partitioned Broyden’s rank one method and show that the full step partitioned Broyden’s rank one method is locally and superlinearly convergent. By using a well-defined derivative-free line search, we globalize the method and establish its global and superlinear convergence. In the case where the Jacobian is available, we propose a partitioned adjoint Broyden method and show its global and superlinear convergence. We also present some preliminary numerical results. The results show that the two partitioned quasi-Newton methods are effective and competitive for solving large-scale partially separable nonlinear equations.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a new iterative method to solve systems of nonlinear equations. The main advantages of the method are: it has order three, it does not require the evaluation of any second or higher order Fréchet derivative and it permits that the Jacobian be singular at some points. Thus, the problem due to the fact that the Jacobian is numerically singular is solved. The third order convergence in both one dimension and for the multivariate case are given. The numerical results illustrate the efficiency of the method for systems of nonlinear equations.   相似文献

In this paper, we propose a Levenberg–Marquardt method based on probabilistic models for nonlinear equations for which the Jacobian cannot be computed accurately or the computation is very expensive. We introduce the definition of the first-order accurate probabilistic Jacobian model, and show how to construct such a model with sample points generated by standard Gaussian distribution. Under certain conditions, we prove that the proposed method converges to a first order stationary point with probability one. Numerical results show the efficiency of the method.

修正的Hermite/反Hermite分裂(MHSS)迭代方法是一类求解大型稀疏复对称线性代数方程组的无条件收敛的迭代算法.基于非线性代数方程组的特殊结构和性质,我们选取Picard迭代为外迭代方法,MHSS迭代作为内迭代方法,构造了求解大型稀疏弱非线性代数方程组的Picard-MHSS和非线性MHSS-like方法.这两类方法的优点是不需要在每次迭代时均精确计算和存储Jacobi矩阵,仅需要在迭代过程中求解两个常系数实对称正定子线性方程组.除此之外,在一定条件下,给出了两类方法的局部收敛性定理.数值结果证明了这两类方法是可行、有效和稳健的.  相似文献

基于HS共轭梯度法的结构,本文在弱假设条件下建立了一种求解凸约束伪单调方程组问题的迭代投影算法.该算法不需要利用方程组的任何梯度或Jacobian矩阵信息,因此它适合求解大规模问题.算法在每一次迭代中都能产生充分下降方向,且不依赖于任何线搜索条件.特别是,我们在不需要假设方程组满足Lipschitz条件下建立了算法的全局收敛性和R-线收敛速度.数值结果表明,该算法对于给定的大规模方程组问题是稳定和有效的.  相似文献

In this paper, we have shown that the numerical method of lines can be used effectively to solve time dependent combustion models in one spatial dimension. By the numerical method of lines (NMOL), we mean the reduction of a system of partial differential equations to a system of ordinary differential equations (ODE's), followed by the solution of this ODE system with an appropriate ODE solver. We used finite differences for the spatial discretization and a variant of the GEAR package for the ODE's.We have presented various solution methods of interest for the nonlinear algebraic system in this setting; that is, in the corrector iteration section of the GEAR package applied to combustion models. These methods include Newton/block SOR (SOR denotes successive over-relaxation), block SOR/Newton, Newton/block-diagonal Jacobian, Newton/kinetics-only Jacobian, and Newton/block symmetric SOR. These methods have in common their lack of frequent use in ODE software and their eady applicability to partial differential equations in more than one spatial dimension.Finally, we have given the results of numerical tests, run on the CDC-7600 and Cray-1 computers. By so doing, we indicate the more promising nonlinear system solvers for the NMOL solution of combustion models.  相似文献

In this article, we consider the global convergence of the Polak–Ribiére–Polyak conjugate gradient method (abbreviated PRP method) for minimizing functions that have Lipschitz continuous partial derivatives. A novel form of non-monotone line search is proposed to guarantee the global convergence of the PRP method. It is also shown that the PRP method has linear convergence rate under some mild conditions when the non-monotone line search reduces to a related monotone line search. The new non-monotone line search needs to estimate the Lipschitz constant of the gradients of objective functions, for which two practical estimations are proposed to help us to find a suitable initial step size for the PRP method. Numerical results show that the new line search approach is efficient in practical computation.  相似文献

Differentiation with respect to a parameter is proposed as a method for solving a system of nonlinear equations with a poorly conditioned Jacobian matrix. Singular and polar decompositions of the Jacobian matrix lead to a system of ordinary differential equations with small parameters multiplying the derivatives. This system is solved by introducing auxiliary linear differential equations. The numerical solution of a poorly conditioned system is reduced in this case to the approximation of an exponential with a large negative argument.  相似文献

In this paper, we shall propose a new method to obtain symmetric solutions of a fully fuzzy linear system (FFLS) based on a 1-cut expansion. To this end, we solve the 1-cut of a FFLS (in the present paper, we assumed that the 1-cut of a FFLS is a crisp linear system or equivalently, the matrix coefficient and right hand side have triangular shapes), then some unknown symmetric spreads are allocated to each row of a 1-cut of a FFLS. So, after some manipulations, the original FFLS is transformed to solving 2n linear equations to find the symmetric spreads. However, our method always give us a fuzzy number vector solution. Moreover, using the proposed method leads to determining the maximal- and minimal symmetric solutions of the FFLS which are placed in a Tolerable Solution Set and a Controllable Solution Set, respectively. However, the obtained solutions could be interpreted as bounded symmetric solutions of the FFLS which are useful for a large number of multiplications existing between two fuzzy numbers. Finally, some numerical examples are given to illustrate the ability of the proposed method.  相似文献
