Multiplicity results for p(x)-biharmonic equations with Navier boundary conditions

This paper deals with the existence of solutions for a class of p(x)-biharmonic equations with Navier boundary conditions. The approach is based on variational methods and critical point theory. Indeed, we investigate the existence of two solutions for the problem under some algebraic conditions with the classical Ambrosetti–Rabinowitz condition on the nonlinear term. Moreover, by combining two algebraic conditions on the nonlinear term which guarantee the existence of two solutions, applying the mountain pass theorem given by Pucci and Serrin we establish the existence of the third solution for the problem.     

Multiplicity Results for Kirchhoff-Type Three-Point Boundary Value Problems

This article is concerned with the multiplicity results of the solutions for a Kirchhoff-type three-point boundary value problem. The method observed here is according to variational methods and critical point theory. In fact, through a consequence of the local minimum theorem due Bonanno and mountain pass theorem, we look into the existence results for our problem under algebraic conditions with the classical Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz (AR) condition on the nonlinear term. Furthermore, by combining two algebraic conditions on the nonlinear term, employing two consequences of the local minimum theorem due Bonanno we guarantee the existence of two solutions, and applying the mountain pass theorem given by Pucci and Serrin we establish the existence of third solution for the problem.     

Existence and multiplicity of solutions for Kirchhoff type equations

In this paper, the existence and multiplicity of weak solutions are obtained for a class of Kirchhoff type problems with Dirichlet boundary value conditions by using the mountain pass theorem, the local linking theorem, the fountain theorem and the symmetric mountain pass lemma in critical point theory.     

EXISTENCE AND MULTIPLICITY OF SOLUTIONS FOR A CLASS OF p（x）-BIHARMONIC EQUATIONS

In this paper,we study a class of p(x)-biharmonic equations with Navier boundary condition.Using the mountain pass theorem,fountain theorem,local linking theorem and symmetric mountain pass theorem,we establish the existence of at least one solution and infinitely many solutions of this problem,respectively.     

Critical point theory for perturbations of symmetric functionals

Functionals which are invariant under the action of a compact transformation groupG often have many critical values. Here we consider functionals which are notG-invariant and give conditions for them to have infinitely many critical values; including a mountain pass theorem. We apply it to prove the existence of infinitely many solutions of a nonlinear Dirichlet problem with perturbedG-symmetries.     

Non-linear Elliptical Equations on the Sierpiński Gasket

This paper investigates properties of certain nonlinear PDEs on fractal sets. With an appropriately defined Laplacian, we obtain a number of results on the existence of non-trivial solutions of the semilinear elliptic equation with zero Dirichlet boundary conditions, where u is defined on the Sierpiński gasket. We use the mountain pass theorem and the saddle point theorem to study such equations for different classes of a and f. A strong Sobolev-type inequality leads to properties that contrast with those for classical domains.     

A twist condition and multiple solutions of unbounded self-adjoint operator equation with symmetries

By using the index theory for unbounded self-adjoint operator equations and the symmetric mountain pass theorem, we investigate the existence of multiple solutions for nonlinear operator equations with twist conditions. We prove an abstract theorem, and give some applications to first order Hamiltonian systems with Sturm–Liouville boundary conditions and delay differential equations.     

A critical Kirchhoff‐type problem involving the ‐Laplacian

In this paper we provide an existence result for a nonlocal problem of Kirchhoff‐type which involves both the p‐ and the q‐Laplacian and contains a critical term. Our approach is variational: we derive the existence of one non‐trivial solution via the multidimensional mountain pass theorem.     

Homoclinic solutions for second order impulsive Hamiltonian systems with small forcing terms

In this paper, we establish some new sufficient conditions on the existence of homoclinic solution for a class of second‐order impulsive Hamiltonian systems. By using the mountain pass theorem, we demonstrate that the limit of a 2kT‐periodic approximation solution is a homoclinic solution of our problem. Homoclinic orbits for Hamiltonian systems induced by impulses

In this paper, we consider a class of impulsive Hamiltonian systems with a p‐Laplacian operator. Under certain conditions, we establish the existence of homoclinic orbits by means of the mountain pass theorem and an approximation technique. In some special cases, the homoclinic orbits are induced by the impulses in the sense that the associated non‐impulsive systems admit no non‐trivial homoclinic orbits. Signed and sign-changing solutions for a Kirchhoff-type problem involving the fractional p-Laplacian with critical Hardy nonlinearity

In this paper, we study the existence of three solutions for a Kirchhoff equation involving the nonlocal fractional p-Laplacian considering Sobolev and Hardy nonlinearities at subcritical and critical growths. The proof is based on mountain pass theorem and constrained minimization in Nehari sets.     

Multiple homoclinic orbits for a class of the discrete p‐Laplacian with unbounded potentials

This paper is devoted to study the existence results of a sequence of infinitely many homoclinic orbits for the discrete p‐Laplacian with unbounded potentials without the Ambrosetti and Rabinowitz condition. The strategy of the proof for these results is to approach the problem using the mountain pass theorem, the fountain theorem, and dual fountain theorem.     

Multiple positive solutions of degenerate nonlocal problems on unbounded domain

In this paper, we study the existence of multiple positive solutions for a degenerate nonlocal problem on unbounded domain. Using the Ekeland's variational principle combined with the mountain pass theorem, we show that problem admits at least two positive solutions under several different conditions. Mountain pass solutions for the coupled systems of second and fourth order elliptic equations

In this paper, by the mountain pass theorem, we give an existence theorem of nontrivial solutions for a coupled system of second and fourth order elliptic equations.

Infinitely many solutions for polyharmonic equations of p(x)-Laplace type

We show the existence of infinitely many weak solutions to a class of quasilinear elliptic p(x)-polyharmonic Kirchhoff equations via the mountain pass principle without the (AR) condition. Furthermore, we obtain infinitely many solutions to this equation based on the genus theory, introduced by Krasnoselskii and the abstract critical point theorem (a variant of Ljusternik-Schnirelman theory) under Cerami condition.     

Multiple solutions for a fourth-order difference boundary value problem with parameter via variational approach

By establishing the corresponding variational framework, and using the mountain pass theorem, linking theorem and Clark theorem in critical point theory, we give the existence of multiple solutions for a fourth-order difference boundary value problem with parameter. Under some suitable assumptions we obtain some results which ensure the existence of well precise interval of parameter for which the problem admits multiple solutions. Some examples are presented to illustrate the main results.
