We consider a sequence of integer-valued random variables Xn, n 1, representing a special Markov process with transition probability λn, l, satisfying Pn, l = (1 − λn, l) Pn−1, l + λn, l−1 Pn−1, l−1. Whenever the transition probability is given by λn, l = qn + βl + γ and λn, l = 1 − qnl, we can find closed forms for the distribution and the moments of the corresponding random variables, showing that they involve functions such as the q-binomial coefficients and the q-Stirling numbers. In general, it turns out that the q-notation, up to now mainly used in the theory of q-hypergeometrical series, represents a powerful tool to deal with these kinds of problems. In this context we speak therefore about q-distributions. Finally, we present some possible, mainly graph theoretical interpretations of these random variables for special choices of , β and γ.  相似文献

Let S be a compact, weak self-similar perfect set based on a system of weak contractions fj, j=1,…,m each of which is characterized by a variable contraction coefficient j(l) as d(fj(x),fj(y)) j(l)d(x,y), d(x,y)<l, l>0. If the relation ∑mj=1j(l0)<1 holds at at least one point l0, then every nonempty compact metric space is a continuous image of the set S.  相似文献

A random graph Gn(x) is constructed on independent random points U1,…,Un distributed uniformly on [0,1]d, d1, in which two distinct such points are joined by an edge if the l-distance between them is at most some prescribed value 0<x<1. The connectivity distance cn, the smallest x for which Gn(x) is connected, is shown to satisfy

For d2, the random graph Gn(x) behaves like a d-dimensional version of the random graphs of Erdös and Rényi, despite the fact that its edges are not independent: cn/dn→1, a.s., as n→∞, where dn is the largest nearest-neighbor link, the smallest x for which Gn(x) has no isolated vertices.  相似文献

Let I be a compact interval of real axis R, and(I, H) be the metric space of all nonempty closed subintervals of I with the Hausdorff metric H and f : I → I be a continuous multi-valued map. Assume that Pn =(x_0, x_1,..., xn) is a return tra jectory of f and that p ∈ [min Pn, max Pn] with p ∈ f(p). In this paper, we show that if there exist k(≥ 1) centripetal point pairs of f(relative to p)in {(x_i; x_i+1) : 0 ≤ i ≤ n-1} and n = sk + r(0 ≤ r ≤ k-1), then f has an R-periodic orbit, where R = s + 1 if s is even, and R = s if s is odd and r = 0, and R = s + 2 if s is odd and r 0. Besides,we also study stability of periodic orbits of continuous multi-valued maps from I to I.  相似文献

Bonin et al. (1993) recalled an open problem related to the recurrence relation verified by NSW numbers. The recurrence relation is the following: fn+1 = 6fnfn−1, with f1 = 1 and f2 = 7, and no combinatorial interpretation seems to be known. In this note, we define a regular language L whose number of words having length n is equal to fn+1. Then, by using L we give a direct combinatorial proof of the recurrence.  相似文献

For each positive integer k we consider the smallest positive integer f(k) (dependent only on k) such that the following holds: Each connected graph G with chromatic number χ(G) = k can be properly vertex colored by k colors so that for each pair of vertices xo and xp in any color class there exist vertices x1, x2, …, xp-1 of the same class with dist(xi, xi+1) f(k) for each i, 0 i p − 1. Thus, the graph is k-colorable with the vertices of each color class placed throughout the graph so that no subset of the class is at a distance > f(k) from the remainder of the class.

We prove that f(k) < 12k when the order of the graph is k(k − 2) + 1.  相似文献

Given graph G=(V,E) on n vertices, the profile minimization problem is to find a one-to-one function f:V→{1,2,…,n} such that ∑vV(G){f(v)−minxN[v] f(x)} is as small as possible, where N[v]={v}{x: x is adjacent to v} is the closed neighborhood of v in G. The trangulated triangle Tl is the graph whose vertices are the triples of non-negative integers summing to l, with an edge connecting two triples if they agree in one coordinate and differ by 1 in the other two coordinates. This paper provides a polynomial time algorithm to solve the profile minimization problem for trangulated triangles Tl with side-length l.  相似文献

The parametric resource allocation problem asks to minimize the sum of separable single-variable convex functions containing a parameter λ, Σi = 1ni(xi + λgi(xi)), under simple constraints Σi = 1n xi = M, lixiui and xi: nonnegative integers for i = 1, 2, …, n, where M is a given positive integer, and li and ui are given lower and upper bounds on xi. This paper presents an efficient algorithm for computing the sequence of all optimal solutions when λ is continuously changed from 0 to ∞. The required time is O(GMlog2 n + n log n + n log(M/n)), where G = Σi = 1n ui − Σi = 1n li and an evaluation of ƒi(·) or gi(·) is assumed to be done in constant time.  相似文献

For a positive integer k2, the k-Fibonacci sequence {gn(k)} is defined as: g1(k)==gk−2(k)=0, gk−1(k)=gk(k)=1 and for n>k2, gn(k)=gn−1(k)+gn−2(k)++gnk(k). Moreover, the k-Lucas sequence {ln(k)} is defined as ln(k)=gn−1(k)+gn+k−1(k) for n1. In this paper, we consider the relationship between gn(k) and ln(k) and 1-factors of a bipartite graph.  相似文献

In this paper we study the existence, the uniqueness, the boundedness and the asymptotic behavior of the positive solutions of the fuzzy difference equation xn+1=∑i=0kAi/xnipi, where k{1,2,…,}, Ai, i{0,1,…,k}, are positive fuzzy numbers, pi, i{0,1,…,k}, are positive constants and xi, i{−k,−k+1,…,0}, are positive fuzzy numbers.  相似文献

For an integer n3, the crown Sn0 is defined to be the graph with vertex set {x0,x1,…,xn−1,y0,y1,…,yn−1} and edge set {xiyj: 0i,jn−1, ij}. In this paper we give some sufficient conditions for the edge decomposition of the crown into isomorphic cycles.  相似文献

We obtain an explicit expression for the Sobolev-type orthogonal polynomials {Qn} associated with the inner product
, where p(x) = (1 − x)(1 + x)β is the Jacobi weight function, ,β> − 1, A1,B1,A2,B20 and p, q P, the linear space of polynomials with real coefficients. The hypergeometric representation (6F5) and the second-order linear differential equation that such polynomials satisfy are also obtained. The asymptotic behaviour of such polynomials in [−1, 1] is studied. Furthermore, we obtain some estimates for the largest zero of Qn(x). Such a zero is located outside the interval [−1, 1]. We deduce his dependence of the masses. Finally, the WKB analysis for the distribution of zeros is presented.  相似文献

A mapping ƒ : n=1InI is called a bag mapping having the self-identity if for every (x1,…,xn) ε i=1In we have (1) ƒ(x1,…,xn) = ƒ(xi1,…,xin) for any arrangement (i1,…,in) of {1,…,n}; monotonic; (3) ƒ(x1,…,xn, ƒ(x1,…,xn)) = ƒ(x1,…,xn). Let {ωi,n : I = 1,…,n;n = 1,2,…} be a family of non-negative real numbers satisfying Σi=1nωi,n = 1 for every n. Then one calls the mapping ƒ : i=1InI defined as follows an OWA bag mapping: for every (x1,…,xn) ε i=1In, ƒ(x1,…,xn) = Σi=1nωi,nyi, where yi is the it largest element in the set {x1,…,xn}. In this paper, we give a sufficient and necessary condition for an OWA bag mapping having the self-identity.  相似文献

We have considered the problem of the weak convergence, as tends to zero, of the multiple integral processes
in the space , where fL2([0,T]n) is a given function, and {η(t)}>0 is a family of stochastic processes with absolutely continuous paths that converges weakly to the Brownian motion. In view of the known results when n2 and f(t1,…,tn)=1{t1<t2<<tn}, we cannot expect that these multiple integrals converge to the multiple Itô–Wiener integral of f, because the quadratic variations of the η are null. We have obtained the existence of the limit for any {η}, when f is given by a multimeasure, and under some conditions on {η} when f is a continuous function and when f(t1,…,tn)=f1(t1)fn(tn)1{t1<t2<<tn}, with fiL2([0,T]) for any i=1,…,n. In all these cases the limit process is the multiple Stratonovich integral of the function f.  相似文献

If are maximal nests on a finite-dimensional Hilbert space H, the dimension of the intersection of the corresponding nest algebras is at least dim H. On the other hand, there are three maximal nests whose nest algebras intersect in the scalar operators. The dimension of the intersection of two nest algebras (corresponding to maximal nests) can be of any integer value from n to n(n+1)/2, where n=dim H. For any two maximal nests there exists a basis {f1,f2,…,fn} of H and a permutation π such that and where Mi=  span{f1,f2,…,fi} and Ni= span{fπ(1),fπ(2),…,fπ(i)}. The intersection of the corresponding nest algebras has minimum dimension, namely dim H, precisely when π(j)=nj+1,1jn. Those algebras which are upper-triangular matrix incidence algebras, relative to some basis, can be characterised as intersections of certain nest algebras.  相似文献

For a 1-dependent stationary sequence {Xn} we first show that if u satisfies p1=p1(u)=P(X1>u)0.025 and n>3 is such that 88np131, then
P{max(X1,…,Xn)u}=ν·μn+O{p13(88n(1+124np13)+561)}, n>3,
where
ν=1−p2+2p3−3p4+p12+6p22−6p1p2,μ=(1+p1p2+p3p4+2p12+3p22−5p1p2)−1
with
pk=pk(u)=P{min(X1,…,Xk)>u}, k1
and
|O(x)||x|.
From this result we deduce, for a stationary T-dependent process with a.s. continuous path {Ys}, a similar, in terms of P{max0skTYs<u}, k=1,2 formula for P{max0stYsu}, t>3T and apply this formula to the process Ys=W(s+1)−W(s), s0, where {W(s)} is the Wiener process. We then obtain numerical estimations of the above probabilities.  相似文献

A bisequence of complex numbers {μn}−∞ determines a strong moment functional satisfying L[xn] = μn. If is positive-definite on a bounded interval (a,b) R{0}, then has an integral representation , n=0, ±1, ±2,…, and quadrature rules {wni,xni} exist such that μk = ∑i=innsnikwni. This paper is concerned with establishing certain extremal properties of the weights wni and using these properties to obtain maximal mass results satisfied by distributions ψ(x) representing when only a finite bisequence of moments {μk}k=−nn−1 is given.  相似文献

Let X be a Banach space, S(X) - x ε X : #x02016; = 1 be the unit sphere of X.The parameter, modulus of W*-convexity, W*(ε) = inf <(xy)/2, fx> : x, y S(X), xy ≥ ε, fx Δx , where 0 ≤ ε ≤ 2 and Δx S(X*) be the set of norm 1 supporting functionals of S(X) at x, is investigated_ The relationship among uniform nonsquareness, uniform normal structure and the parameter W*(ε) are studied, and a known result is improved. The main result is that for a Banach space X, if there is ε, where 0 < ε < 1/2, such that W*(1 + ε) > ε/2 where W*(1 + ε) = lim→ε W* (1 + ), then X has normal structure.  相似文献

Let H be a Hopf algebra over a field k and let H AA, h ah.a, be an action of H on a commutative local Noetherian kalgebra (A, m). We say that this action is linearizable if there exists a minimal system x1, …, xn of generators of the maximal ideal m such that h.xi ε kx1 + …+ kxn for all h ε H and i = 1, …, n. In the paper we prove that the actions from a certain class are linearizable (see Theorem 4), and we indicate some consequences of this fact.  相似文献

A (finite or infinite) graph G is strongly dismantlable if its vertices can be linearly ordered x0,…, x so that, for each ordinal β < , there exists a strictly increasing finite sequence (ij)0 j n of ordinals such that i0 = β, in = and xij+1 is adjacent with xij and with all neighbors of xij in the subgraph ofG induced by {xy: β γ }. We show that the Helly number for the geodesic convexity of such a graph equals its clique number. This generalizes a result of Bandelt and Mulder (1990) for dismantlable graphs. We also get an analogous equality dealing with infinite families of convex sets.  相似文献
