We have studied the sensitivity of the coupling coefficients between the spectral extinction coefficients β(λ) and the fractional aerosol concentrations to microstructural variations in the aerosol. We have calculated and analyzed the spectral dependences of the correlation coefficients between the indicated characteristics. We have obtained the multiple regression equations for the fractional concentrations of background atmospheric aerosol and the spectral extinction coefficients at wavelengths of λ = 0.350 μm, 0.532 μm, and 1.060 μm with a large spread in the microphysical characteristics of the aerosol, allowing us to determine its fractional composition with accuracy that is satisfactory for many practical requirements, without using additional measurements of the microstructural parameters or taking into account their spatial variations. __________ Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Spektroskopii, Vol. 73, No. 6, pp. 807–812, November–December, 2006.  相似文献

We have measured the absorption cross sections of oxygen molecules in oxygen and in an oxygen-argon mixture heated by a shock wave, in the wavelength range 190–250 nm at temperatures of 1500–7000 K, for thermal equilibrium conditions behind the shock wave front. Analysis of the absorption cross sections obtained allowed us to select a data set that adequately describes the absorption characteristics of the electronic transition X3Σ g → B3Σ u for the oxygen molecule. In order to approximate the temperature dependence of these cross sections at a temperature of 1500–4500 K, we chose the function σ(λ, T) = σ0(λ)(1 − exp (−θ/T)) exp (− n*θ/T) where θ0 = 1.4·10−17, 1.4·10−17, 1.2·10− 17, and 1.3·10−17 cm2, n* = 3.1, 4.1, 5.6, and 7.47 for wavelengths 190, 210, 230, and 250 nm, respectively; θ = 2240 K is the characteristic temperature of the O2 molecules. We have studied the sensitivity of the correlation between the unidirectional scattering coefficients β(θ) and the microphysical parameters of erythrocytes in human blood the number concentration (N) and the volume concentration (CV), the modal radius (r), and the half-width (Δr) of the size distribution function of the erythrocytes, the real part of their refractive indices n) to variations of the latter in the ranges of their possible values at wavelengths λ = 0.3–1.2 μm. We have obtained the multiple regression equations for the microphysical parameters and β(θ) in the transparency window of blood (λ = 0.65 μm). Biologically active brassinosteroid 24-epicastasterone, ring B of which contains a C=O group and has the nπ*-configuration for a low-lying electronic excited state, exhibits rapid fluorescence. The wavelengths of the fluorescence maxima of the steroid dissolved in hexane and acetonitrile are equal to 332 and 394 nm, respectively. The fluorescence lifetime of the steroid dissolved in acetonitrile is τ = 9.9 nsec. Solutions of 24-epibrassinolide do not luminesce. The long-wavelength electronic absorption band λmaxabs = 340 nm in the absorption spectrum of an ethanol solution of model compound 2, ring D of which contains a C=O group π*-conjugated with the C=C double bond of ring C, like in the spectrum of the steroid, has a low extinction coefficient. An ethanol solution of 2 does not fluoresce. 24-Epicastasterone at 77 K in ethanol solution exhibits phosphorescence with λmaxphos = 447 nm. The phosphorescence decay is exponential with τ = 0.79 msec. Compound 2 also phosphoresces. The phosphorescence spectrum of its ethanol solution has a maximum at 490 nm. The phosphorescence decay is nonexponential in the early stage. A self consistent formulation of the Jeans instability of a dusty plasma with proper inclusion of charge dynamics is described. It is shown that charge fluctuations significantly affect the Jeans as well as the Buneman mode. For plasma particles (electrons and ions) in local thermal equilibrium, the Jeans lengthλ J is given byλ Jλ g F(R, ε, β/η), whereλ g is the Debye length of the charged grains,R is the square of the ratio of the Jeans to the plasma frequency of the grains,ε is the square of the ratio of the Debye length of the grains and the plasma particles andβ/η is the ratio of the attachment to the decay frequency of the electronic charges to the grain surface. The functional form ofF is given in the text. Numerical investigation of the Jeans-Buneman mode for a two and three component plasma shows that the Jeans mode dominates at D≪1 (wherek is the wave number andλ D is the Debye length of plasma particles), whereas at D≫1 only the Buneman mode operates. Charge fluctuations reduce the area of overlap of the two modes. Furthermore, in the absence of gravity, there exists a new, charge fluctuation induced unstable mode in a streaming dusty plasma. Experiments on laser sensing of water under conditions simulating the operation of a laser radar mounted onboard an airplane have been carried out. Values of water extinction index reconstructed from lidar signals are presented, and their dependence on the lidar field-of-view angle is established. These data are compared with the results of calculations by the Monte Carlo method. The experimental and calculated data are described by analytical expressions that differ only by proportionality coefficients. Simultaneously with the lidar, the extinction index was measured with a reference submersible transmissometer. Radiowave scattering by a two-layered medium with a rough boundary is studied in the Kirchhoff approximation. We consider the case of oblique incidence of waves and mean square heights of the upper boundary roughnesses, which are nonsmall compared with the wavelength λ. An analytical expression and the conditions under which P1 turns out to be large are derived for the term P1 of the two-frequency correlation function P = (Em(w1)En(w2)), which is proportional to the first degree of the coefficient of reflection from the lower boundary. Such effect is shown to emerge only for the resonant frequency relation. In particular, the following resonant relationship is written for the mirror reflection direction: w2,1(√ε-sin2θ/cosθ-1), where θ is the incidence angle and ε is the layer permittivity. i -HxLi1-xNbO3 phases generated on x-cut LiNbO3 the new anisotropic libration mode at 890–940 cm-1 is observed in addition to the known isotropic mode at 960–970 cm-1, whereas the same phases on z-cut exhibit only latter isotropic libration mode. The observed phenomena are explained as a result of anisotropic stresses generated in the x-cut waveguides, whereas the stresses in the structures on z-cut are isotropic. The OH-bond librations are clearly anisotropic in the α, κ1, and κ2 phases generated on both z- and x-cuts, which indicates a fundamental difference of the local symmetry of the proton’s position in the βi phases compared to the α, κ1, and κ2 HxLi1-xNbO3 phases. High-spin states in 123Cs, populated via the 100Mo ( 28Si, p4n) fusion-evaporation reaction at E lab = 130 MeV, have been investigated employing in-beam γ-ray spectroscopic techniques. Rotational bands, built on πg 7/2, πg 9/2 and the unique-parity πh 11/2 orbitals, have been extended and evolve into bands involving rotationally aligned ν(h 11/2)2 and π(h 11/2)2 quasiparticles. A three-quasiparticle band based on the high-K πh 11/2 ⊗ νg 7/2 ⊗ νh 11/2 configuration has also been observed. Total Routhian Surface (TRS) calculations have been used to predict the nuclear shape parameters ( β2, β4, γ) for the various assigned configurations. The assigned configurations have been discussed in the framework of a microscopic theory based on the deformed Hartree-Fock (HF) and angular-momentum projection techniques.  相似文献

High-spin states in 117I have been studied via the 103Rh(18O, 4n) reaction at a beam energy of 85 MeV. Many deformed rotational bands built on the proton h11/2, g7/2, and g9/2 orbitals have been identified. Among them, an unfavoured rotational band and a quasi-gamma band based on the h11/2 state have been newly observed. Moreover, positive-parity states above Iπ= 35/2+ reported in the previous work have been rearranged. Several energetically favoured states have been assigned to noncollective oblate states based on various quasiparticle configurations with β2≈ 0.18–0.19 and γ= 60°. Received: 1 March 1999  相似文献

The coherent V-configuration interaction between an optically dense resonantly-absorbing three-level medium (neon) and two ultrashort superradiance pulses with converging wave fronts is investigated experimentally and theoretically. Both separate and combined propagation of pulses with wavelengths λ 1=614.3 nm (strong field, θ 1π) and λ 3=594.5 nm (weak field, θ 3≈/20) are studied. For propagation of a separate strong-field pulse, supertransparency of the absorbing medium was observed, which is associated with the generation of a soliton-like pulse at the difference frequency (Δν≈1700 MHz) and the dispersion-diffraction stabilization effect. Under these conditions a weak-field pulse is completely absorbed. Combined propagation of the pulses leads to novel effects. A below-threshold pulse (weak field) was observed to pass through the absorber while interacting coherently with a strong-field pulse at a neighboring transition. It is shown theoretically that absorption of the weak pulse is reduced for two reasons: first, as a result of incoherent transparency of the resonance transition caused by emptying of the lower level by the field of the strong pulse, and second, as a result of coherent transfer of polarization between the upper levels via the two-photon processes. When the conditions for combined propagation are met, the latter mechanism ensures inversionless amplification of a weak pulse over a wide band of frequencies. In this case, the gain can even exceed the linear absorption coefficient in absolute value. A difference in propagation velocities of the weak and strong pulses was recorded experimentally, along with a shift in the carrier frequency of the weak field towards the red (≈600 MHz). The absorption and fluorescence of substituted distyrylbenzene (DSB) derivatives and segmented poly(phenylene vinylene) (PPV) derivatives are characterized by long-wavelength absorption maxima and absorption coefficients of λa = 380–450 nm, ε = 20,000–60,000 M−1 cm1 and fluorescence maxima, quantum yields, and decay times of λr = 440–530 nm, Φf = 0.2–0.9, and Τ = 0.8–2.5 ns, respectively. Alkoxy substituents at the central phenylene ring of DSB groups increase the bathochromic shift in the spectra in comparison to DSB, without a significant decrease in the high DSB fluorescence quantum yield. Both phenyl and cyano substitutions at the vinylene bridge lead to a further bathochromic shift of the fluorescence and a decrease in the quantum yield to ca. 0.4. The DSB derivatives and the related segmented PPV derivatives show nearly the same absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra, and radiative rate constantsk f= Φf/Τ, indicating the efficacy of the segmentation of the polymer chain. The radiative rate constants determined by the Φf and Τ values and by the Strickler/Berg formula are in reasonable agreement. This supports the possibility of interpreting the properties of the polymers in terms of their DSB units. The decrease in the emission anisotropy can be ascribed to multistep energy transfer processes between different oriented segments.  相似文献

Nonlinear optical activity due to spatial dispersion is observed in a colloidal solution of silver. It is shown experimentally that the effect is substantially enhanced (by a factor of ∼102) when the silver particles aggregate into fractal clusters. The self-rotation angle of the plane of polarization is 2 mrad at an intensity of 2 MW/cm2 for λ=0.532 μm and a pulse duration of 11 ns. A method of separating the contributions of the local and nonlocal effects to the rotation of the plane of polarization is proposed and implemented. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. The KNΛ and KNΣ coupling constants have been calculated in the framework of the Chiral Bag Model(CBM). We find −3.88 ≤g KNΛ≤−3.67 and 1.15 ≤g KNΣ≤ 1.24 by taking into account pseudoscalar mesons (π, K) and vector mesons (ρ, ω, K *) field effects. Particularly, it is shown that vector mesons make significant contributions to the coupling constants g KNΛ and g KNΣ. Our values are existing within the experimental limits compared to the phenomenological values extracted from the kaon photoproduction and kaon-nucleon scattering experiments. In this study, the optical properties as well as mechanical and electrical degradation of low-density polyethylene (LDPE)/polypropylene fiber (PP fiber) (10–50% PP fiber), polypropylene (PP)/PP fiber (10–50% PP fiber), and LDPE/diamond (0.1–3% diamond) blends, which are prepared by hot pressing method, with changing thicknesses ranging from 30 to 225 μm, are compared. The spectra, in the wavelength range 200–2500 nm, are examined. Based on optical absorption spectra obtained, Tauc graphs are plotted. Determined values of the direct optical energy gap (E d opt ), the indirect optical energy gap (E i opt ), the width of the band (ΔE), and ultraviolet transmittance (TUV) are listed. The direct E d opt and indirect E i opt values for organic blends are in the range of 3.10–3.17 eV and 1.52–2.99 eV; for inorganic blends they are 1.80–4.13 eV and 1.55–4.7 eV respectively. The electrical strength (ε) and the mechanical tension (σ) have been investigated, and graphs (the dependence of the electrical life time log τε on ε) are given. The experimental results are analyzed from the viewpoint of the validity of the thermofluctuation theory. LDPE and LDPE/0.5% diamond composite parameters consecutively changed: σ from 68 to 82 MPa, ε from 60·106 to 85·106 V/m, mechanical lifetime τσ from 10 to 1.5·105 sec, electrical lifetime τε from 2· 103 to 2·105 sec, and structure-sensitive parameters γ and χ — from 1.48 to 1.18 (J)MPa/mole and from 0.97 to 0.70 (J)Vm−1/mole respectively. The values of mechanical and electrical durability were observed to increase by 20 and 41%, respectively, for LDPE/0.5% diamond composite. Sandwich and planar structures were fabricated using manganese phthalocyanine (MnPc) as active layer and gold (Au) as electrodes by thermal evaporation method. The permittivity ε of MnPc was determined from the dependence of capacitance on film thickness. J-V characteristics of Au/MnPc/Au structure at room temperature were performed. Thermally generated hole concentration p0, hole mobility μp, total trap concentration Nt and depth of the trap level were estimated. The activation energies of MnPc films were determined from the Arrhenius plots of ln σ versus 1000/T. The absorption and reflectance spectra of MnPc thin film deposited at room temperature were recorded in the spectral range 300–900 nm. The optical band gap of MnPc thin film was determined from the α2 versus hν graph. The optical constants n and k were found. The real and imaginary parts of the optical dielectric constant ε1 and ε2 were calculated.  相似文献

Absolute spectral luminosity from an O2–O2(a)-H2O gas flow formed by a chemical singlet oxygen generator was measured at 600–800 and 1230–1310 nm wavelengths. The results were used to determine the rate constants for O2(a, 0) + O2(a, 0) → O2(X, 0) + O2(X, 0) + hν (λ = 634 nm) and O2(a, 0) + O2(a, 0) → O2(X, 1) + O2(X, 0) + hν (λ = 703 nm) collision-induced emission ((6.72 ± 0.8) × 10−23 and (7.17 ± 0.8) × 10−23 cm3/s, respectively).  相似文献

We relate the geometrical construction of (2+1)-spacetimes via grafting to phase space and Poisson structure in the Chern-Simons formulation of (2+1)-dimensional gravity with vanishing cosmological constant on manifolds of topology , where S g is an orientable two-surface of genus g>1. We show how grafting along simple closed geodesics λ is implemented in the Chern-Simons formalism and derive explicit expressions for its action on the holonomies of general closed curves on S g .We prove that this action is generated via the Poisson bracket by a gauge invariant observable associated to the holonomy of λ. We deduce a symmetry relation between the Poisson brackets of observables associated to the Lorentz and translational components of the holonomies of general closed curves on S g and discuss its physical interpretation. Finally, we relate the action of grafting on the phase space to the action of Dehn twists and show that grafting can be viewed as a Dehn twist with a formal parameter θ satisfying θ2 = 0.  相似文献

Results of spectroscopic investigations into plasma of a pulse-periodic strontium vapor laser operating in the superradiance mode on the infrared transition at λ = 6.45 μm are presented. The method of determining the electron temperature and concentration as well as the gas temperature – T e , n e , and T g – based on measuring the absolute intensities of some SrI and SrII and buffer gas (helium or neon) spectral lines is used. Time dependences of the line intensities during a current pulse (τ = 150 ns) and near afterglow (up to 3 μs) are obtained under conditions of non-equilibrium plasma ionization and recombination. The optical system collects radiation from the entire length of the plasma column by means of separating radial volume zones, includingthe central zone and the zone closer to the walls, with the monochromator slit. The results obtained allow us not only to calculate T e , n e , and T g values, but also to trace the spatiotemporal plasma evolution.  相似文献
