We prove that any ?d shift of finite type with positive topological entropy has a family of subsystems of finite type whose entropies are dense in the interval from zero to the entropy of the original shift. We show a similar result for ?d sofic shifts, and also show every ?d sofic shift can be covered by a ?d shift of finite type arbitrarily close in entropy.  相似文献

A Borel system consists of a measurable automorphism of a standard Borel space. We consider Borel embeddings and isomorphisms between such systems modulo null sets, i.e. sets which have measure zero for every invariant probability measure. For every t>0 we show that in this category, up to isomorphism, there exists a unique free Borel system (Y,S) which is strictly t-universal in the sense that all invariant measures on Y have entropy <t, and if (X,T) is another free system obeying the same entropy condition then X embeds into Y off a null set. One gets a strictly t-universal system from mixing shifts of finite type of entropy ≥t by removing the periodic points and “restricting” to the part of the system of entropy <t. As a consequence, after removing their periodic points the systems in the following classes are completely classified by entropy up to Borel isomorphism off null sets: mixing shifts of finite type, mixing positive-recurrent countable state Markov chains, mixing sofic shifts, beta shifts, synchronized subshifts, and axiom-A diffeomorphisms. In particular any two equal-entropy systems from these classes are entropy conjugate in the sense of Buzzi, answering a question of Boyle, Buzzi and Gomez.  相似文献

We generalize the Bowen–Franks groups for topological Markov shifts to general subshifts as the Ext-groups for the associated C *-algebras. The generalized Bowen–Franks groups for subshifts are shown to be invariant under flow equivalence and, hence, invariant under topological conjugacy. They are regarded as the indices of Fredholm operators related to extensions of the associated C *-algebras so that they are described in terms of symbolic dynamical systems. In particular, the group for a sofic subshift is determined by the adjacency matrix of its left Krieger cover graph. The Bowen–Franks groups for some non sofic subshifts are calculated, proving that certain subshifts with the same topological entropy are not flow equivalent.  相似文献

Recently Lewis Bowen introduced a notion of entropy for measure-preserving actions of a countable sofic group on a standard probability space admitting a generating partition with finite entropy. By applying an operator algebra perspective we develop a more general approach to sofic entropy which produces both measure and topological dynamical invariants, and we establish the variational principle in this context. In the case of residually finite groups we use the variational principle to compute the topological entropy of principal algebraic actions whose defining group ring element is invertible in the full group C -algebra.  相似文献

We show that for every topological dynamical system with the approximate product property, zero topological entropy is equivalent to unique ergodicity. Equivalence of minimality is also proved under a slightly stronger condition. Moreover, we show that unique ergodicity implies the approximate product property if the system has periodic points.  相似文献

For an invariant measure μ in a topological dynamics, notions of μ-sensitivity, μ-complexity and μ-equicontinuity are introduced and investigated. It turns out that μ-sensitivity defined here is equivalent to pairwise sensitivity defined by Cadre and Jacob. For an ergodic μ, μ-equicontinuity, no μ-complexity pair and non-μ-sensitivity are equivalent, which implies minimality and equicontinuity when restricted to the support. Moreover, the notion of μ-sensitive set is introduced, it is shown that a transitive system with an ergodic measure of full support has zero topological entropy if there is no uncountable μ-sensitive set, and a non-minimal transitive system with dense minimal points has infinite sequence entropy for some sequence.  相似文献

Recently Lewis Bowen introduced a notion of entropy for measure-preserving actions of countable sofic groups admitting a generating measurable partition with finite entropy; and then David Kerr and Hanfeng Li developed an operator-algebraic approach to actions of countable sofic groups not only on a standard probability space but also on a compact metric space, and established the global variational principle concerning measure-theoretic and topological entropy in this sofic context. By localizing these two kinds of entropy, in this paper we prove a local version of the global variational principle for any finite open cover of the space, and show that these local measure-theoretic and topological entropies coincide with their classical counterparts when the acting group is an infinite amenable group.  相似文献

Sofic systems
A symbolic flow is called a sofic system if it is a homomorphic image (factor) of a subshift of finite type. We show that every sofic system can be realized as a finite-to-one factor of a subshift of finite type with the same entropy. From this it follows that sofic systems share many properties with subshifts of finite type. We concentrate especially on the properties of TPPD (transitive with periodic points dense) sofic systems.  相似文献

We construct a family of shift spaces with almost specification and multiple measures of maximal entropy. This answers a question from Climenhaga and Thompson [Israel J. Math. 192 (2012), 785–817]. Elaborating on our examples we prove that sufficient conditions for every shift factor of a shift space to be intrinsically ergodic given by Climenhaga and Thompson are in some sense best possible; moreover, the weak specification property neither implies intrinsic ergodicity, nor follows from almost specification. We also construct a dynamical system with the weak specification property, which does not have the almost specification property. We prove that the minimal points are dense in the support of any invariant measure of a system with the almost specification property. Furthermore, if a system with almost specification has an invariant measure with non-trivial support, then it also has uniform positive entropy over the support of any invariant measure and cannot be minimal.  相似文献

We prove that every Bernoulli action of a sofic group has completely positive entropy with respect to every sofic approximation net. We also prove that every Bernoulli action of a finitely generated free group has the property that each of its nontrivial factors with a finite generating partition has positive f-invariant.  相似文献

This is the first part in a series in which sofic entropy theory is generalized to class-bijective extensions of sofic groupoids. Here we define topological and measure entropy and prove invariance. We also establish the variational principle, compute the entropy of Bernoulli shift actions and answer a question of Benjy Weiss pertaining to the isomorphism problem for non-free Bernoulli shifts. The proofs are independent of previous literature.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the complicated dynamics of infinite‐dimensional random dynamical systems that include deterministic dynamical systems as their special cases in a Polish space. Without assuming any hyperbolicity, we prove if a continuous random map has a positive topological entropy, then it contains a topological horseshoe. We also show that the positive topological entropy implies the chaos in the sense of Li‐Yorke. The complicated behavior exhibited here is induced by the positive entropy but not the randomness of the system.© 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

We prove that if X denotes the interval or the circle then every transformation T:XX of class C r , where r>1 is not necessarily an integer, admits a symbolic extension, i.e., every such transformation is a topological factor of a subshift over a finite alphabet. This is done using the theory of entropy structure. For such transformations we control the entropy structure by providing an upper bound, in terms of Lyapunov exponents, of local entropy in the sense of Newhouse of an ergodic measure ν near an invariant measure μ (the antarctic theorem). This bound allows us to estimate the so-called symbolic extension entropy function on invariant measures (the main theorem), and as a consequence, to estimate the topological symbolic extension entropy; i.e., a number such that there exists a symbolic extension with topological entropy arbitrarily close to that number. This last estimate coincides, in dimension 1, with a conjecture stated by Downarowicz and Newhouse [13, Conjecture 1.2]. The passage from the antarctic theorem to the main theorem is applicable to any topological dynamical system, not only to smooth interval or circle maps.  相似文献

In this paper we characterize the Liouvillian integrable orthogonal separable Hamiltonian systems on T~2 for a given metric, and prove that the Hamiltonian flow on any compact level hypersurface has zero topological entropy.Furthermore,by examples we show that the integrable Hamiltonian systems on T~2 can have complicated dynamical phenomena. For instance they can have several families of invariant tori, each family is bounded by the homoclinic-loop-like cylinders and heteroclinic-loop-like cylinders. As we know,it is the first concrete example to present the families of invariant tori at the same time appearing in such a complicated way.  相似文献

In the present work we consider the behavior of the geodesic flow on the unit tangent bundle of the 2-torus T 2 for an arbitrary Riemannian metric. A natural non-negative quantity which measures the complexity of the geodesic flow is the topological entropy. In particular, positive topological entropy implies chaotic behavior on an invariant set in the phase space of positive Hausdorff-dimension (horseshoe). We show that in the case of zero topological entropy the flow has properties similar to integrable systems. In particular, there exists a non-trivial continuous constant of motion which measures the direction of geodesics lifted onto the universal covering \mathbbR2{\mathbb{R}^{2}} . Furthermore, those geodesics travel in strips bounded by Euclidean lines. Moreover, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for vanishing topological entropy involving intersection properties of single geodesics on T 2.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce the notions of (Banach) density-equicontinuity and densitysensitivity. On the equicontinuity side, it is shown that a topological dynamical system is densityequicontinuous if and only if it is Banach density-equicontinuous. On the sensitivity side, we introduce the notion of density-sensitive tuple to characterize the multi-variant version of density-sensitivity. We further look into the relation of sequence entropy tuple and density-sensitive tuple both in measuretheoretical and topological setting, and it turns out that every sequence entropy tuple for some ergodic measure on an invertible dynamical system is density-sensitive for this measure; and every topological sequence entropy tuple in a dynamical system having an ergodic measure with full support is densitysensitive for this measure.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to study the dynamical behavior of a family of two-dimensional nonlinear maps associated to an economic model. Our objective is to measure the complexity of the system using techniques of symbolic dynamics in order to compute the topological entropy. The analysis of the variation of this important topological invariant with the parameters of the system, allows us to distinguish different chaotic scenarios. Finally, we use a another topological invariant to distinguish isentropic dynamics and we exhibit numerical results about maps with the same topological entropy. This work provides an illustration of how our understanding of higher dimensional economic models can be enhanced by the theory of dynamical systems.  相似文献

In this paper we present some results and applications of a new invariant for dynamical systems that can be viewed as a dynamical analogue of topological dimension. This invariant has been introduced by M. Gromov, and enables one to assign a meaningful quantity to dynamical systems of infinite topological dimension and entropy. We also develop an alternative approach that is metric dependent and is intimately related to topological entropy.  相似文献
