The finite-size critical properties of the (n) vector ϕ4 model, with long-range interaction decaying algebraically with the interparticle distance r like r
-d - σ, are investigated. The system is confined to a finite geometry subject to periodic boundary condition. Special attention
is paid to the finite-size correction to the bulk susceptibility above the critical temperature T
c. We show that this correction has a power-law nature in the case of pure long-range interaction i.e. 0 < σ < 2 and it turns out to be exponential in case of short-range interaction i.e.σ = 2. The results are valid for arbitrary dimension d, between the lower ( d
< = σ) and the upper ( d
> = 2σ) critical dimensions.

It has been a long history to study Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) of weakly in-teracting Bose gas, and several theoretical models have been developed to research uni-form and weakly interacting Bose gas. Ref. In the frame work of classical mechanics, we study the nonlinear dynamics of a single ion trapped in a Penning trap perturbed
by an electrostatic sextupolar perturbation. The perturbation is caused by a deformation in the configuration of the electrodes.
By using a Hamiltonian formulation, we obtain that the system is governed by three parameters: the z-component of the canonical angular momentum P
φ - which is a constant of the motion because the perturbation we assume is axial-symmetric -, the parameter δ that determines
the ratio between the axial and the cyclotron frequencies, and the parameter a which indicates how far from the ideal design the electrodes are. We study the case P
φ = 0. By means of surfaces of section, we show that the phase space structure is made of three fundamental families of orbits:
arch, loop and box orbits. The coexistence of these kinds of orbits depends on the parameter δ. The escape is also explained on the basis of
the shape of the potential energy surface as well as of the phase space structure.

DWBA analysis of the inelastic 30-40S(p,p') and
18-22O(p,p') scattering data measured in the inverse kinematics has been
performed to determine the isoscalar (δ0) and isovector (δ1)
deformation lengths of the 2+1 excitations in the Sulfur and Oxygen isotopes
using a compact folding approach. A systematic N-dependence of δ0 and
δ1 has been established which shows a link between δ1 and the
neutron-shell closure. Strong isovector deformations were found in several
cases, e.g., the 2+1 state in 20O where δ1 is nearly three
times larger than δ0. These results confirm the relation
δ1>δ0 anticipated from the core polarization by the valence
neutrons in the open-shell (neutron rich) nuclei. The effect of neutron shell
closure at N=14 or 16 has been discussed based on the folding model analysis
of the inelastic 22O+p scattering data at 46.6 MeV/u measured recently at
GANIL. 相似文献

The reaction γd↦π0
X has been measured with TAPS at MAMI in the energy range E
γ = 140-300 MeV. Using the Glasgow tagging spectrometer a photon energy resolution of 0.8 MeV was achieved. The energy excitation
functions of integral and differential total cross-sections show no structures of statistical significance > 2σ. Upper limits
for the production of narrow isoscalar or isovector dibaryons with masses m? 2100 MeV/c2 were deduced. They are in the range 2-5 μb averaged over the 0.8 MeV energy resolution.

We demonstrate, both from a theoretical and an experimental point of view, the possibility of realizing a weak coupling between
two Bose-Einstein condensates trapped in different Zeeman states. The weak coupling drives macroscopic quantum oscillations
between the condensate populations and the observed current-phase dynamics is described by generalized Josephson equations.
In order to highlight the superfluid nature of the oscillations, we investigate the response of a 87Rb non-condensate (thermal) gas in the same conditions, showing that the thermal oscillations damp more quickly than those
of the condensate.

Recent mass measurements show a substantial weakening of the binding-energy difference δ2p(Z, N) = E(Z - 2, N) - 2E(Z, N) + E(Z + 2, N) in the neutron-deficient Pb isotopes. As δ2p is often attributed to the size of the proton magic gap, it might be speculated that reduction in δ2p is related to a weakening of the spherical Z = 82 shell. We demonstrate that the observed trend is described quantitatively by self-consistent mean-field models in terms
of deformed ground states of Hg and Po isotopes.

The purpose of this article is to discuss cluster expansions in dense quantum systems, as well as their interconnection with
exchange cycles. We show in general how the Ursell operators of order l≥ 3 contribute to an exponential which corresponds to a mean-field energy involving the second operator U2, instead of the potential itself as usual - in other words, the mean-field correction is expressed in terms of a modification
of a local Boltzmann equilibrium. In a first part, we consider classical statistical mechanics and recall the relation between
the reducible part of the classical cluster integrals and the mean-field; we introduce an alternative method to obtain the
linear density contribution to the mean-field, which is based on the notion of tree-diagrams and provides a preview of the
subsequent quantum calculations. We then proceed to study quantum particles with Boltzmann statistics (distinguishable particles)
and show that each Ursell operator Un with n≥ 3 contains a “tree-reducible part”, which groups naturally with U2 through a linear chain of binary interactions; this part contributes to the associated mean-field experienced by particles
in the fluid. The irreducible part, on the other hand, corresponds to the effects associated with three (or more) particles
interacting all together at the same time. We then show that the same algebra holds in the case of Fermi or Bose particles,
and discuss physically the role of the exchange cycles, combined with interactions. Bose condensed systems are not considered
at this stage. The similarities and differences between Boltzmann and quantum statistics are illustrated by this approach,
in contrast with field theoretical or Green's functions methods, which do not allow a separate study of the role of quantum
statistics and dynamics.

Current-voltage (J-V) and differential-conductivity-voltage ( dJ/dV-V) characteristics are analytically calculated at zero temperature for a point contact consisting of: two Peierls conductors

High-spin states in 112Pd were studied using prompt γ-ray spectroscopy with Gammasphere following heavy-ion-induced fission in the reaction 18O + 208Pb at 91 MeV. A new 8+ level at 2638 keV was discovered with transitions connecting it to the yrast band and the quasi-gamma band. The three, now
established, closely spaced 8+ states indicate a mixing between the ground-state band, s-band, and quasi-gamma band. Several high-spin structures with likely negative parity have been extended to higher spin and

We consider the effect of Coulomb interactions on the average density of states (DOS) of disordered low-dimensional metals
for temperatures T and frequencies ω smaller than the inverse elastic life-time 1/τ. Using the fact that long-range Coulomb interactions in two dimensions (2d) generate ln2-singularities in the DOS ν(ω) but only ln-singularities in the conductivity σ(ω), we can re-sum the most singular contributions
to the average DOS via a simple gauge-transformation. If σ(ω) > 0, then a metallic Coulomb gapν(ω) ∝ |ω|/e
4 appears in the DOS at T = 0 for frequencies below a certain crossover frequency Ω
2 which depends on the value of the DC conductivity σ(0). Here, - e is the charge of the electron. Naively adopting the same procedure to calculate the DOS in quasi 1d metals, we find ν(ω) ∝ (|ω|/Ω
1)1/2exp(- Ω
1/|ω|) at T = 0, where Ω
1 is some interaction-dependent frequency scale. However, we argue that in quasi 1d the above gauge-transformation method is on less firm grounds than in 2d. We also discuss the behavior of the DOS at finite temperatures and give numerical results for the expected tunneling conductance
that can be compared with experiments.

Accurate ab initio calculations on embedded Cu4O12 square clusters, fragments of the La2CuO4 lattice, confirm a value of the nearest neighbor antiferromagnetic coupling (J
= 124 meV) previously obtained from ab initio calculations on bicentric clusters and in good agreement with experiment. These calculations predict non negligible antiferromagnetic
second-neighbor interaction (J'
= 6.5 meV) and four-spin cyclic exchange (K
= 14 meV), which may affect the thermodynamic and spectroscopic properties of these materials. The dependence of the magnetic
coupling on local lattice distortions has also been investigated. Among them the best candidate to induce a spin-phonon effect
seems to be the movement of the Cu atoms, changing the Cu-Cu distance, for which the variation of the nearest neighbor magnetic
coupling with the Cu-O distance is Δ

A simple agent model is introduced by analogy with the mean field approach to the Ising model for a magnetic system. Our model
is characterised by a generalised Langevin equation = F
ϕ + G
ϕ
t
where
t
is the usual Gaussian white noise, i.e.:
t
t
′

t-t

and
t
= 0. Both the associated Fokker Planck equation and the long time probability distribution function can be obtained analytically.
A steady state solution may be expressed as P
ϕ =
exp{ - Ψϕ - ln G(ϕ)} where Ψϕ = -
F/
G
dϕ and Z is a normalization factor. This is explored for the simple case where F
ϕ = Jϕ + bϕ2 - cϕ3 and fluctuations characterised by the amplitude G
ϕ = ϕ + ɛ when it readily yields for ϕ≫ɛ, a distribution function with power law tails, viz: P
ϕ =
exp{2bϕ-cϕ2
/D}. The parameter c ensures convergence of the distribution function for large values of ϕ. It might be loosely associated with the activity
of so-called value traders. The parameter J may be associated with the activity of noise traders. Output for the associated time series show all the characteristics
of familiar financial time series providing J < 0 and D≈ | J|.

Thermodynamic quantities and correlation functions (CFs) of the classical antiferromagnet on the checkerboard lattice are

spin CFs decay as <

c∝T

MC simulations, exact and analytical results for the classical Heisenberg model (D = 3) on the pyrochlore lattice. This shows that the ground state of the infinite-component spin vector model on the checkerboard
lattice is a classical spin liquid.
