The impact of angular temperature variations on the thermodynamic variables and real-space correlation functions of black-body radiation are analyzed. In particular, the effect of temperature fluctuations on the number density and energy density correlations of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) is studied. The angular temperature fluctuations are modeled by an isotropic and homogeneous Gaussian random field, whose autocorrelation function is defined on the unit sphere in momentum space. This temperature correlation function admits an angular Fourier transform which determines the density correlations in real space induced by temperature fluctuations. In the case of the CMB radiation, the multipole coefficients of the angular power spectrum defining the temperature correlation function have been measured by the Planck satellite. The fluctuation-induced perturbation of the equilibrium variables (internal energy, entropy, heat capacity and compressibility) can be quantified in terms of the measured multipole coefficients by expanding the partition function around the equilibrium state in powers of the temperature random field. The real-space density correlations can also be extracted from the measured temperature power spectrum. Both the number density and energy density correlations of the electromagnetic field are long-range, admitting power-law decay; in the case of the energy density correlation, the fluctuation-induced correlation overpowers the isotropic equilibrium correlation in the long-distance limit.  相似文献

Due to global environmental concerns, our electricity supply will transform from mostly conventional power generation to mostly fluctuating renewable power generation. The transition will require combined backup from conventional sources and storage. A phase transition emerges during the ramp-up of the required amount of storage, with renewable penetration being the control parameter and average relative storage filling level being the order parameter. A singularity appears for the required storage energy capacity at a renewable penetration determined by the parameters of the storage. For an ideal storage with no roundtrip losses the transition occurs at 100% renewable penetration. Moreover, the required storage energy capacity is strongly enhanced by temporal correlations on the synoptic weather time scale. A Markov process is proposed, which reproduces these findings.  相似文献

An energy finite element analysis (EFEA) formulation for computing the high frequency behavior of plate structures in contact with a dense fluid is presented. The heavy fluid loading effect is incorporated in the derivation of the EFEA governing differential equations and in the computation of the power transfer coefficients between plate members. The new formulation is validated through comparison of EFEA results to classical techniques such as statistical energy analysis (SEA) method and the modal decomposition method for bodies of revolution. Good correlations are observed and the advantages of the EFEA formulation are identified.  相似文献

Earthquakes are obviously complex phenomena associated with complicated spatiotemporal correlations, and they are generally characterized by two power laws: the Gutenberg-Richter (GR) and the Omori-Utsu laws. However, an important challenge has been to explain two apparently contrasting features: the GR and Omori-Utsu laws are scale-invariant and unaffected by energy or time scales, whereas earthquakes occasionally exhibit a characteristic energy or time scale, such as with asperity events. In this paper, three high-quality datasets on earthquakes were used to calculate the earthquake energy fluctuations at various spatiotemporal scales, and the results reveal the correlations between seismic events regardless of their critical or characteristic features. The probability density functions (PDFs) of the fluctuations exhibit evidence of another scaling that behaves as a q-Gaussian rather than random process. The scaling behaviors are observed for scales spanning three orders of magnitude. Considering the spatial heterogeneities in a real earthquake fault, we propose an inhomogeneous Olami-Feder-Christensen (OFC) model to describe the statistical properties of real earthquakes. The numerical simulations show that the inhomogeneous OFC model shares the same statistical properties with real earthquakes.  相似文献

This paper investigates the secure transmission for simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) in the cell-free massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system. To develop green communication, legitimate users harvest energy by the hybrid time switching (TS) and power splitting (PS) strategy in the downlink phase, and the harvested energy can provide power to send uplink pilot sequences for the next time slot. By in-built batteries, the active eavesdropper can send the same pilots with the wiretapped user, which results in undesirable correlations between the channel estimates. Under these scenarios, we derive the closed-form expressions of average harvested energy and achievable rates, and propose an iterative power control (PC) scheme based on max–min fairness algorithm with energy and secrecy constraints (MMF-ESC). This scheme can ensure the uniform good services for all users preserving the distributed architecture advantage of cell-free networks, while meeting the requirements of energy harvested by legitimate users and network security against active eavesdroppers. Besides, continuous approximation, bisection and path tracking are jointly applied to cope with the high-complexity and non-convex optimization. Numerical results demonstrate that MMF-ESC PC scheme can effectively increase the achievable rate and the average harvested energy of each user, and decrease the eavesdropping rate below the threshold. Moreover, the results also reveal that PS strategy is superior in harvesting energy in terms of more stringent network requirements for average achievable rates or security.  相似文献

Renormalization group arguments are applied to an ensemble of disordered electronic systems (without electron-electron interaction). The renormalization group procedure consists of a sequence of transformations of the length and the energy scales, and of orthogonal transformations of the electronic states. Homogeneity and power laws are obtained for various one and two-particle correlations and for the low-temperature conductivity in the vicinity of the mobility edge. Two types of fixed point ensembles are proposed, a homogeneous ensemble which is roughly approximated by a cell model, and an inhomogeneous ensemble.  相似文献

Energy Flow Analysis (EFA) has been developed to predict the vibration energy density of system structures in the high frequency range. This paper develops the energy flow model for the thin plate in contact with mean flow. The pressure generated by mean flow affects energy governing equation and power reflection–transmission coefficients between plates. The fluid pressure is evaluated by using velocity potential and Bernoulli's equation, and energy governing equations are derived by considering the flexural wavenumbers of a plate, which are different along the direction of flexural wave and mean flow. The derived energy governing equation is composed of two kinds of group velocities. To verify the developed energy flow model, various numerical analyses are performed for a simple plate and a coupled plate for several excitation frequencies. The EFA results are compared with the analytical solutions, and correlations between the EFA results and the analytical solutions are verified.  相似文献

The electrical conductivity and the thermoelectric power have been measured vs temperature on niobium doped VO2 single crystals. For weakly doped samples the results are consistent with V3+Nb5+ pairs and strong intraatomic correlations. In this paper, the effects of quantum and classical correlations on the excitation energy transfer in a three-quasi-spin-pigment system are investigated. We first study the dependence of the energy transfer efficiency on various initial correlations of the donor pigments, and find that the initial concurrence is crucial to the efficiency no matter whether the initial states are pure or mixed. We then demonstrate the dynamics of correlations of the system and observe the appearance of sudden death of quantum correlations in the donor pigments. The relation between the energy transfer efficiency and the dynamics of correlations in the donor pigments is also discussed.  相似文献

The effect of the Berendsen thermostat on the dynamical properties of bulk SPC/E water is tested by generating power spectra associated with fluctuations in various observables. The Berendsen thermostat is found to be very effective in preserving temporal correlations in fluctuations of tagged particle quantities over a very wide range of frequencies. Even correlations in fluctuations of global properties, such as the total potential energy, are well preserved for time periods shorter than the thermostat time constant. Deviations in dynamical behaviour from the microcanonical limit do not, however, always decrease smoothly with increasing values of the thermostat time constant, but may be somewhat larger for some intermediate values of τB, especially in the supercooled regime, which are similar to time scales for slow relaxation processes in bulk water.  相似文献

以美国NOVA和国家点火装置用的高功率脉冲氙灯为例,结合对神光Ⅲ装置用脉冲氙灯的分析,发现了影响脉冲氙灯失效的几个因素,包括石英灯管应力、氙灯尺寸、灯管微缺陷、电极溅射、灯头绝缘、氙气纯度、封接可靠性及周围氙灯放电。结果发现:在进灯能量相同的情况下,氙灯电极弧长越长,内径越大,寿命越高;石英灯管表面的静态拉应力、内表面的微缺陷以及周围氙灯的电离辐射使得氙灯的额外负载能量大大增加,这些是导致氙灯爆炸概率变大的直接因素。  相似文献

Earthquakes and solar flares are phenomena involving huge and rapid releases of energy characterized by complex temporal occurrence. By analyzing available experimental catalogs, we show that the stochastic processes underlying these apparently different phenomena have universal properties. Namely, both problems exhibit the same distributions of sizes, interoccurrence times, and the same temporal clustering: We find after flare sequences with power law temporal correlations as the Omori law for seismic sequences. The observed universality suggests a common approach to the interpretation of both phenomena in terms of the same driving physical mechanism.  相似文献

In this paper, a large sample of extragalactic radio sources is analysed to show their statistical properties. The core and total radio powers are used to determine the core-dominance parameter for galaxies, BL Lacertae objects and quasars; mutual correlations between core radio power, total radio power, redshift and core dominance parameter are examined for different subclasses. A statistically significant correlation between the total and core radio power is confirmed. There are no obvious correlations between core-dominance parameter and the total power for our whole sample and quasars, but there is a statistically significant anti-correlation for our galaxy sample. Some discussions and comparison of the correlations with those obtained by other authors are also given.  相似文献

A selfconsistent quantal two-body theory as obtained from the density-matrix hierarchy is solved numerically for the first time for a one-dimensional system modelling α+ α collisions at 80 MeV/u. Various truncation schemes for the two-body correlation function are investigated in order to explore the convergence properties of the theory. We find that perturbative treatments with respect to two-body processes do not yield reliable results in the energy regime investigated and that the nuclear stopping power sensitively depends on the order of the two-body correlations considered.  相似文献

Inflationary gravitational waves (GW) contribute to the curl component in the polarization of the cosmic microwave background (CMB). Cosmic shear--gravitational lensing of the CMB--converts a fraction of the dominant gradient polarization to the curl component. Higher-order correlations can be used to map the cosmic shear and subtract this contribution to the curl. Arcminute resolution will be required to pursue GW amplitudes smaller than those accessible by the Planck surveyor mission. The blurring by lensing of small-scale CMB power leads with this reconstruction technique to a minimum detectable GW amplitude corresponding to an inflation energy near 10(15) GeV.  相似文献

We investigate the behavior of energy fluctuations in several models of granular gases maintained in a non-equilibrium steady state. In the case of a gas heated from a boundary, the inhomogeneities of the system play a predominant role. Interpreting the total kinetic energy as a sum of independent but not identically distributed random variables, it is possible to compute the probability density function (pdf) of the total energy. Neglecting correlations and using the analytical expression for the inhomogeneous temperature profile obtained from the granular hydrodynamic equations, we recover results that have previously been observed numerically and that had been attributed to the presence of correlations. In order to separate the effects of spatial inhomogeneities from those ascribable to velocity correlations, we have also considered two models of homogeneously thermostated gases: in this framework it is possible to reveal the presence of non-trivial effects due to velocity correlations between particles. Such correlations stem from the inelasticity of collisions. Moreover, the observation that the pdf of the total energy tends to a Gaussian in the large system limit suggests that they are also due to the finite size of the system.  相似文献

Cross correlation functions between input power fluctuations and system power fluctuations are derived for a Gaussian process and sine wave process. These cross correlation functions are referred to as power correlations and they contain both a constant term plus a fluctuating quantity. The derivations show that for a linear system with no uncorrelated noise normalized correlations of squared fluctuations between the input and output should be equal to one. Experimental data obtained from tests on an electrical circuit validated analytically derived power correlation formulas. Power correlation functions can be used for determination of propagation times, for power transmission, and for other applications such as resonance testing.  相似文献

We calculate and resum the nuclear enhanced power corrections from the final state partonic scattering in nuclear matter to open charm production and correlations. In p+A reactions, we find that single and double inclusive D mesons can be suppressed as much as the neutral pions from the dynamical high twist shadowing. Effects of initial state energy loss in p+A collisions are also investigated and may lead to significantly weaker transverse momentum dependence of the nuclear suppression.  相似文献

We study the influence of the chiral phase transition on the chiral magnetic effect. The azimuthal charge-particle correlations as functions of the temperature are calculated. It is found that there is a pronounced cusp in the correlations as the temperature reaches its critical value for the QCD phase transition. It is predicted that there will be a drastic suppression of the charge-particle correlations as the collision energy in RHIC decreases to below a critical value. We show then the azimuthal charge-particle correlations can be the signal to identify the occurrence of the QCD phase transitions in RHIC energy scan experiments.  相似文献
