The YBCO superconductors with Y2O3 addition were prepared by a modified melt textured process and the effects of excess Y2O3 addition on the physical properties of melt textured YBCO have been investigated. It is found that the melt temperature of YBCO samples decreases drastically with the increasing Y2O3, and the maximum levitation forces are drastically different for samples with different Y2O3 addition. It is also found that the optimal Y2O3 addition to YBCO is about 10wt%. Considering the microstructure and the starting composition, the results are well discussed and interpreted.  相似文献

本文采用顶部籽晶熔渗方法(TSIG), 研究了不同粒径纳米Y2Ba4CuBiOy粒子对单畴YBCO超导块材的生长形貌、微观结构及其磁悬浮力的影响.实验所用纳米Y2Ba4CuBiOy粉体的平均粒度分别为283.0 nm, 170.4 nm以及82.5 nm, 每种粉体在YBCO超导块材中的含量均为2 wt%. 研究结果表明: 在掺杂量为2 wt%的情况下, Y2Ba4CuBiOy粉体的粒度并不影响样品的宏观形貌, 均可制备出单畴YBCO块材; 并且成功地将纳米Y2Ba4CuBiOy粒子引入单畴YBCO块材中, 且使其均匀分布, 但样品中的Y2Ba4CuBiOy粒子均小于其初始粉体的粒度, 分别减小到270 nm, 150 nm和50 nm; 随着Y2Ba4CuBiOy粉体初始粒度的减小, 样品的磁悬浮力逐渐增大, 分别为10 N, 17 N, 22 N. 该结果为进一步研究纳米磁通钉扎中心的引入方法及提高YBCO超导块材的性能有重大意义.  相似文献

To understand the effect of Y2BaCuO5 (Y211)/YBa2Cu3O7?y (Y123) interfaces on the oxygen diffusion in single grain YBa2Cu3O7?y superconductors, single grain Y123 superconductors with 0.05 and 0.3 moles of Y2O3 additions were fabricated by a top-seeded melt growth (TSMG) process. Y123 compacts with Y2O3 additions were subjected to melt growth heating cycles with a cooling rate of 1 °C/h through a peritectic temperature (1015 °C) and then annealed at 450 °C for 200 h in flowing oxygen. The superconducting temperature (Tc) and critical current density (Jc) were estimated for the three different regions (top surface (s), intermediate (i) and center (c)) of samples. The amount of Y211/Y123 interface area in single grain Y123 superconductors was successfully controlled by Y2O3 additions. The Tc values of s regions were higher than those of i and c regions, which indicates the presence of more oxygen at the sample surfaces. In addition, the Tc values of i and c regions of the Y123 sample with 0.3 mole Y2O3 addition were higher than those of the same regions of the Y123 sample with 0.05 mole Y2O3 addition due to the promoted oxygen diffusion through Y211/Y123 interfaces and other related defects. In spite of the promoted oxygen diffusion by Y2O3 addition, the large Tc difference among the regions still existed, which suggests sluggish oxygen diffusion into single Y123 grains.  相似文献

Mono-domain YBa2Cu3O7?x (Y123) bulk superconductors have been processed using seeded infiltration growth technique (SIG). The combination of melt infiltrated liquid source (Ba3Cu5O8) into the Y2BaCuO5 (Y211) pre-form and the nucleation of Y123 domain from SmBa2Cu3O7 crystal seed has been investigated. The different configurations of SIG process were compared in this study. In addition, the effect of the starting Y211 particles size has been studied. The results reveal that, the Y211 particle size and different configurations strongly influence the properties of the final bulk superconductor sample.  相似文献

To suppress the samarium diffusion from a SmBa2Cu3O7?y (Sm123) seed into an YBa2Cu3O7?y (Y123) compact during a top seeded melt growth (TSMG) process, Y211 buffer disks of various thicknesses (t) were inserted at the seed/compact interface. The effectiveness of the Y211 buffer insert on the suppression of samarium diffusion was estimated from the susceptibility curve and composition analysis for the three top surface regions (region just below the seed/buffer, intermediate region between the buffer and compact edge and compact edge). The difference in the superconducting temperature (Tc) and the superconducting transition width (ΔT) in the three regions was large, when no buffer or thin buffers (t is smaller than 1 mm) were used. As a buffer disk of an appropriate thickness was inserted into the seed/compact interface, the difference in Tc and ΔT in the three regions was much reduced. The composition analysis across the seed/buffer/compact region clearly revealed that the Tc decrease was caused by the samarium diffusion from a seed, which led to the formation of Y1?xSmxBa2Cu3O7?y in the Y123 compact region. The buffer insert technique was demonstrated to insure the uniform superconducting properties of the top surface of TSMG processed Y123 superconductors.  相似文献

The YBa2Cu3O7?x (Y123) textured bulk superconductors with various amounts of nanometer alumina particles were fabricated by a seeded infiltration and growth process. The addition of nanometer alumina was found to be effective for an improvement of the superconducting properties. The critical current density (Jc) values were increased twice in self field with a slight addition amount of nanometer alumina particles (maximum Jc at 0.01 wt.% alumina addition). The present work suggests that the use of insulating inclusions in the nanometer sub-scale can stabilize the flux-line lattice and greatly enhance the pinning capabilities of the infiltrated samples. No refinement of Y211 particles was observed with alumina addition. The Jc improvement by nanometer alumina inclusions is likely rendered to the insulating nano-pinning centers that have been successfully embedded into superconducting Y123 matrix. On the other hand, we examined the effect of the pinning centers size on the superconducting properties of infiltrated YBCO bulk samples. To this effect insulating nano-pinning centers with two different size distributions has been successfully incorporated within YBCO matrix of bulk superconductor by slightly doping with nano-particle alumina dispersions. Two alumina nano-particle dispersions with mean size diameters of about 20 nm and 130 nm were used. It was shown that the size of the pinning centers can affect considerably the Jc performances and the pinning mechanism.  相似文献

Single grain YBa2Cu3O7−x (Y123) bulk superconductors with Y2BaCuO5 (Y211) and various amounts of BaCeO3 (5–45 wt.% by an increment of 10 wt.%) were fabricated by a seeded infiltration process. The addition of BaCeO3 was found to be effective for a modification of the microstructure and an improvement of the superconducting properties. The refinement effect for Y211 particles within an entire superconducting YBa2Cu3O7−x (Y123) matrix was achieved by BaCeO3 additions. The critical current density (Jc) values were increased as the BaCeO3 contents were increased (maximum Jc at 35 wt.% BaCeO3 addition). The Jc improvement by BaCeO3 additions might be due to the microstructure modifications associated with the finely distributed Y211 and BaCeO3 particles. With the addition of BaCeO3 the onset Tc values decreased slightly, indicating highly limited Ce substitution for Y site. It can be concluded that the BaCeO3 addition has a beneficial effect on the morphology, the size and the distribution of the Y211 inclusions and the microstructure regarding pinning improvement.  相似文献

YBa2Cu3O7?δ (YBCO) superconductors were coated on the CeO2/YSZ/Y2O3 buffered Ni-5at%W tapes by a reel-to-reel pulsed laser deposition (PLD). The process of a multi-layer deposition of YBCO film was explored. X-ray diffraction texture measurements showed good both in-plane and out of plane crystalline orientations in YBCO films. The average values calculated at a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the peaks from phi-scans (φ) and omega (ω) scans for one meter-long YBCO tape were 7.49° and 4.71°, respectively. The critical current (Ic) was over 200 A/cm-width at 77 K and under self-field for meter-long YBCO tape. The critical transition temperature of the YBCO tape was typically as 90.1 K with 0.5 K transition widths.  相似文献

Aiming at examining the trapped-flux dependence between single and combined bulk superconductors for field-pole applications, three rectangular Y1.65Ba2Cu3O7?x (YBCO) bulks with a possibly compact combination were employed to investigate the trapped-flux characteristics of single and combined bulks with a field-cooling magnetization (FCM) method. A gap-related dependence was found between them. At lower gaps of 1 mm and 5 mm, the peak trapped fields and total magnetic flux of combined bulks are both smaller than the additive values of each single bulk, which can be ascribed to the demagnetization influences of the field around the bulk generated by the adjacent ones. While, at larger gaps like 10 mm, the situation becomes reversed. The combined bulks can attain bigger peak trapped fields as well as total magnetic flux, which indicates that the magnetic field by the bulk combination can reach higher gaps, thanks to the bigger magnetic energy compared with the single bulk. The presented results show that, on one hand, it is possible to estimate the total trapped magnetic flux of combined bulks by an approximate additive method of each single bulk while considering a demagnetization factor; on the other hand, it also means that the performance of combined bulks will be superior to the addition of each single bulk at larger gaps, thus preferable for large-scaled magnet applications.  相似文献

The blue phase of YBa2Cu3O7- δ (YBCO) family, Y2Cu2O5 (Y202) nanoparticles were prepared and doped into (YBCO) superconductor and the effect of doping on critical current density and critical temperature was investigated. Y202 nanoparticles with particle sizes of 47, 107 and 206?nm were prepared by a sol–gel combustion method and added into the YBCO superconductor by 0.5–2?wt.%. XRD and scanning electron microscope measurements were used to characterize the samples. The measurement of critical current density at 77?K revealed that the doped superconductors had larger critical current density compared to the undoped superconductors. For a fixed dopant concentration, by increasing the size of nanoparticles, the Jc was increased. For the samples including 0.5?wt.% of nanoadditives, Jc was higher. The highest critical current density of 137?A/cm2 was measured for the superconductors containing 0.5?wt.% of 206?nm Y202 nanoparticles. Also, by increasing the nanoparticles concentration, the Tc was reduced.  相似文献

Compared to the conventional melt growth (MG) method, the top seeded in- filtration and growth (TSIG) process is an effective way for preparing bulk REBa2Cu3O7−x (RE-123) with finely dispersed RE2BaCuO5 (RE-211) particles. However, it is more complicated and time-consuming, because three kinds of precursor powders, namely, RE-211, RE-123 and BaCuO2, have to be prepared for the conventional TSIG process. In this paper, a new liquid source (NLS) composed of RE-211 and Ba3Cu5O8, was proposed for simplifying the TSIG process, which is different from the regular liquid source (RLS) composed of RE-123 and Ba3Cu5O8. In this modified TSIG technique, we need to prepare only RE-211 and BaCuO2 powders. Single-grain GdBa2Cu3O7−x (GdBCO) bulk superconductors have been fabricated using the RLS and NLS separately. The morphology, microstructure and levitation force of the bulk GdBCO have also been investigated. The results indicate that the NLS can be used to simplify the process flow and improve the efficiency on the fabrication of single-grain GdBCO superconductors.  相似文献

Single domain GdBCO bulk superconductors have been fabricated with different new kinds of liquid sources by Top Seeded Infiltration and Growth process. A conventional liquid source is a mixture of REBa2Cu3O7?x and Ba3Cu5O8 in a ratio of 1:1; new liquid sources are made of a mixture of RE2BaCuO5 + 9BaCuO2 + 6CuO or RE2O3 + 10BaCuO2 + 6CuO. The microstructures and levitation forces of the GdBCO bulks have also been investigated. The properties of the samples fabricated are nearly the same as those of samples fabricated with conventional liquid sources, which indicates that the new liquid sources are very important to reduce the cost and improve the working efficient on the fabrication of single-domain GdBCO bulk superconductors.  相似文献

Different mechanisms may exists as a means to provide additional or specialized enhancement of existing nanoparticulate pinning in YBa2Cu3O7?x (YBCO) thin films. In the particular case of Y2BaCuO5 (Y211) nanoparticles, Ca-doping of these nanoparticles via addition to the Y211 target material provides an additional increase to the Jc(H). YBCO + Y211 samples were created by pulsed laser deposition with alternating targets of YBCO with Y211 and Y211 doped with Ca. Initial indications suggest that this improvement in pinning results from some scattered short-ranged self-assembly of the nanoparticles into short nanocolumns.  相似文献

We report the results of the electronic structure calculation of a newly discovered member of the YBCO high-Tc family, i.e., Y3Ba5Cu8O18 (Y358) with Tc>100, based on the full-potential linearized augmented plane waves method (FP-LAPW) of density functional theory in the generalized gradient approximation (GGA). The evolution of the number of hole carriers in different sites of the CuO2 planes and CuO chains has been investigated in comparison with the other YBCO family members, i.e., Y123, Pr123, Y124, and Y247. The results suggest that pumping hole carriers out of the chains toward the planes enhances the transition temperature. The band structure calculations have been performed for Y358, and the results show similar features with the other family members. Most notably, a van Hove singularity forms near the X point of the Brillouin zone below the Fermi level and within the energy of the buckling phonon mode, for which the interplay is discussed.  相似文献

We have studied the effects of the incorporation of polyvinyl acetate (PVA) aqueous solution on the formability of the precursor Y–Ba–Cu–O samples with the aim of improving the mechanical properties of large bulk RE–Ba–Cu–O superconductors that are susceptible to cracking. We found that the green compacts of YBa2Cu3Oy and Y2BaCuO5 powders added with PVA liquid binder exhibited good mechanical properties and could be mechanically machined without defects. We could successfully drill 17 holes of 1 mm diameter into the green compact. The drilled samples were subjected to melt-processing and oxygen annealing, and further characterized with microstructural observations and magnetization measurements. The results showed that liquid binder addition was very effective in reducing cracks for large melt-processed Y–Ba–Cu–O superconductors.  相似文献

We report measurements of in-plane and out-of-plane fluctuation conductivity under low applied magnetic fields up to 500 Oe in two melt-textured YBa2Cu3O7−δ (YBCO) samples. 3D-Gaussian and genuine critical 3D-XY-E fluctuation regimes were identified in the conductivity parallel to the ab plane. In addition, a regime beyond 3D-XY was observed in the immediate vicinity of the superconducting transition of the in-plane fluctuation conductivity. The 3D-XY-E scaling was also identified in the fluctuation conductivity along the c-axis in the sample with smaller content of the Y2BaCuO5 (Y211) phase. This result indicates that the superconducting state in YBCO has a three-dimensional character, in contradiction to some studies suggesting that critical phenomenology is fundamentally distinct in orientations parallel or perpendicular to the Cu-O2 planes of the high-temperature superconductors. However, the results suggests the presence of a sub-dominant order-parameter component in YBCO that has an appreciable projection along the c-axis.  相似文献

The effect of calcium doping on the superconducting properties of top seeded melt growth (TSMG) processed Y1.5Ba2?xCaxCu3Oy superconductors was studied in terms of calcium content (Xca). YBa2?xCaxCu3O7?δ (Xca = 0, 0.005, 0.01, 0.02, 0.04, 0.1, 0.3) powders were synthesized by the powder calcination method. YBa2?xCaxCu3O7?δ powders were mixed with 0.25 mole Y2O3 powder and 1 wt.% CeO2 as Y2BaCuO5 (Y211) refiner, and finally made into Y1.5Ba2?xCaxCu3Oy (Y1.5) + 1 wt.% CeO2 composition. The single Y123 growth on the top surface was observed up to Xca = 0.1, while the multiple Y123 growth was observed at Xca ? 0.1. The superconducting transition temperature (Tc) and critical current density (Jc) of TSMG processed Y1.5 samples were inversely proportional to Xca. The Y211 size increased with increasing Xca due to the enhancement of Y211 coarsening by calcium doping. No Y211 refining effect by CeO2 was observed in the calcium doped samples. The Tc and Jc decrease by calcium doping are likely to be due to the calcium incorporation with the Y123 lattice and formation of coarse Y211 particles.  相似文献

In this study, several up-conversion luminescence agents (Er3+:Y3Al5O12, Er3+:Yb0.2Y2.79Al5O12, Er3+:Yb0.2Y2.79Al5N0.01O11.99, Er3+:Yb0.2Y2.79Al5F0.01O11.99 and Er3+:Yb0.2Y2.79Al5N0.01F0.01O11.98) were synthesized using sol–gel method. And then, the corresponding sonocatalyst (Er3+:Y3Al5O12/TiO2, Er3+:Yb0.2Y2.79Al5O12/TiO2, Er3+:Yb0.2Y2.79Al5N0.01O11.99/TiO2, Er3+:Yb0.2Y2.79Al5F0.01O11.99/TiO2 and Er3+:Yb0.2Y2.79Al5N0.01F0.01O11.98/TiO2 coated composites) were prepared by sol–gel coating process. The synthesized up-conversion luminescence agents and their coated composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). And that, the sonocatalytic activities were detected through the degradation of Azo Fuchsine (AF) dye in aqueous solution by UV–vis spectroscopy. Some key influences such as heat-treated temperature and heat-treated time on the sonocatalytic activity of Er3+:YbaY2.99−aNxFyAl5O12−xy/TiO2 coated composite, as well as ultrasonic irradiation time and initial dye concentration on the sonocatalytic degradation were studied. The results showed that the doping of Yb, N and F into Er3+:Y3Al5O12/TiO2 significantly enhanced the sonocatalytic activity of Er3+:Y3Al5O12/TiO2 coated composite in the degradation of organic dyes. Particularly, Er3+:Yb0.2Y2.79Al5N0.01F0.01O11.98/TiO2 coated composites with 3:7 M ratio heat-treated at 550 °C for 60 min showed the highest sonocatalytic activity. At last, the experiments also indicated that the Er3+:Yb0.2Y2.79Al5N0.01F0.01O11.98/TiO2 coated composites has a good sonocatalytic activity to degrade other organic dyes under ultrasonic irradiation.  相似文献
