The paper deals with standing wave solutions of the dimensionless nonlinear Schrödinger equation where the potential \(V_\lambda :\mathbb {R}^N\rightarrow \mathbb {R}\) is close to an infinite well potential \(V_\infty :\mathbb {R}^N\rightarrow \mathbb {R}\) , i. e. \(V_\infty =\infty \) on an exterior domain \(\mathbb {R}^N\setminus \Omega \) , \(V_\infty |_\Omega \in L^\infty (\Omega )\) , and \(V_\lambda \rightarrow V_\infty \) as \(\lambda \rightarrow \infty \) in a sense to be made precise. The nonlinearity may be of Gross–Pitaevskii type. A standing wave solution of \((NLS_\lambda )\) with \(\lambda =\infty \) vanishes on \(\mathbb {R}^N\setminus \Omega \) and satisfies Dirichlet boundary conditions, hence it solves We investigate when a standing wave solution \(\Phi _\infty \) of the infinite well potential \((NLS_\infty )\) gives rise to nearby solutions \(\Phi _\lambda \) of the finite well potential \((NLS_\lambda )\) with \(\lambda \gg 1\) large. Considering \((NLS_\infty )\) as a singular limit of \((NLS_\lambda )\) we prove a kind of singular continuation type results.  相似文献

Let \(G\) be a connected Lie group and \(S\) a generating Lie semigroup. An important fact is that generating Lie semigroups admit simply connected covering semigroups. Denote by \(\widetilde{S}\) the simply connected universal covering semigroup of \(S\) . In connection with the problem of identifying the semigroup \(\Gamma (S)\) of monotonic homotopy with a certain subsemigroup of the simply connected covering semigroup \(\widetilde{S}\) we consider in this paper the following subsemigroup $$\begin{aligned} \widetilde{S}_{L}=\overline{\left\langle \mathrm {Exp}(\mathbb {L} (S))\right\rangle } \subset \widetilde{S}, \end{aligned}$$ where \(\mathrm {Exp}:\mathbb {L}(S)\rightarrow S\) is the lifting to \( \widetilde{S}\) of the exponential mapping \(\exp :\mathbb {L}(S)\rightarrow S\) . We prove that \(\widetilde{S}_{L}\) is also simply connected under the assumption that the Lie semigroup \(S\) is right reversible. We further comment how this result should be related to the identification problem mentioned above.  相似文献

For a commutative noetherian ring \(R\) , we establish a bijection between the resolving subcategories consisting of finitely generated \(R\) -modules of finite projective dimension and the compactly generated t-structures in the unbounded derived category \(\mathcal {D}(R)\) that contain \(R[1]\) in their heart. Under this bijection, the t-structures \((\mathcal U,\mathcal V)\) such that the aisle \(\mathcal U\) consists of objects with homology concentrated in degrees \(<n\) correspond to the \(n\) -cotilting classes in \({{\mathrm{Mod}\text {-}R}}\) . As a consequence of these results, we prove that the little finitistic dimension findim \(R\) of \(R\) equals an integer \(n\) if and only if the direct sum \(\bigoplus _{k=0}^n E_k(R)\) of the first \(n+1\) terms in a minimal injective coresolution \(0\rightarrow R\rightarrow E_0(R)\rightarrow E_1(R)\rightarrow \cdots \) of \(R\) is an injective cogenerator of \({{\mathrm{Mod}\text {-}R}}\) .  相似文献

We consider Monge–Kantorovich problems corresponding to general cost functions \(c(x,y)\) but with symmetry constraints on a Polish space \(X\times X\) . Such couplings naturally generate anti-symmetric Hamiltonians on \(X\times X\) that are \(c\) -convex with respect to one of the variables. In particular, if \(c\) is differentiable with respect to the first variable on an open subset \(X\) in \( \mathbb {R}^d\) , we show that for every probability measure \(\mu \) on \(X\) , there exists a symmetric probability measure \(\pi _0\) on \(X\times X\) with marginals \(\mu \) , and an anti-symmetric Hamiltonian \(H\) such that \(\nabla _2H(y, x)=\nabla _1c(x,y)\) for \( \pi _0\) -almost all \((x,y) \in X \times X.\) If \(\pi _0\) is supported on a graph \((x, Sx)\) , then \(S\) is necessarily a \(\mu \) -measure preserving involution (i.e., \(S^2=I\) ) and \(\nabla _2H(x, Sx)=\nabla _1c(Sx,x)\) for \(\mu \) -almost all \(x \in X.\) For monotone cost functions such as those given by \(c(x,y)=\langle x, u(y)\rangle \) or \(c(x,y)=-|x-u(y)|^2\) where \(u\) is a monotone operator, \(S\) is necessarily the identity yielding a classical result by Krause, namely that \(u(x)=\nabla _2H(x, x)\) where \(H\) is anti-symmetric and concave-convex.  相似文献

New multi-dimensional Wiener amalgam spaces \(W_c(L_p,\ell _\infty )(\mathbb{R }^d)\) are introduced by taking the usual one-dimensional spaces coordinatewise in each dimension. The strong Hardy-Littlewood maximal function is investigated on these spaces. The pointwise convergence in Pringsheim’s sense of the \(\theta \) -summability of multi-dimensional Fourier transforms is studied. It is proved that if the Fourier transform of \(\theta \) is in a suitable Herz space, then the \(\theta \) -means \(\sigma _T^\theta f\) converge to \(f\) a.e. for all \(f\in W_c(L_1(\log L)^{d-1},\ell _\infty )(\mathbb{R }^d)\) . Note that \(W_c(L_1(\log L)^{d-1},\ell _\infty )(\mathbb{R }^d) \supset W_c(L_r,\ell _\infty )(\mathbb{R }^d) \supset L_r(\mathbb{R }^d)\) and \(W_c(L_1(\log L)^{d-1},\ell _\infty )(\mathbb{R }^d) \supset L_1(\log L)^{d-1}(\mathbb{R }^d)\) , where \(1 . Moreover, \(\sigma _T^\theta f(x)\) converges to \(f(x)\) at each Lebesgue point of \(f\in W_c(L_1(\log L)^{d-1},\ell _\infty )(\mathbb{R }^d)\) .  相似文献

For a compact Riemannian manifold \(N\) , a domain \(\Omega \subset \mathbb {R}^m\) and for \(p\in (1, \infty )\) , we introduce an intrinsic version \(E_p\) of the \(p\) -biharmonic energy functional for maps \(u : \Omega \rightarrow N\) . This requires finding a definition for the intrinsic Hessian of maps \(u : \Omega \rightarrow N\) whose first derivatives are merely \(p\) -integrable. We prove, by means of the direct method, existence of minimizers of \(E_p\) within the corresponding intrinsic Sobolev space, and we derive a monotonicity formula. Finally, we also consider more general functionals defined in terms of polyconvex functions.  相似文献

Let \(R\) be any \((n+1)!\) -torsion free ring and \(F,D: R\rightarrow R\) be additive mappings satisfying \(F(x^{n+1})=(\alpha (x))^nF(x)+\sum \nolimits _{i=1}^n (\alpha (x))^{n-i}(\beta (x))^iD(x)\) for all \(x\in R\) , where \(n\) is a fixed integer and \(\alpha \) , \(\beta \) are automorphisms of \(R\) . Then, \(D\) is Jordan left \((\alpha , \beta )\) -derivation and \(F\) is generalized Jordan left \((\alpha , \beta )\) -derivation on \(R\) and if additive mappings \(F\) and \(D\) satisfying \(F(x^{n+1})=F(x)(\alpha (x))^n+\sum \nolimits _{i=1}^n (\beta (x))^iD(x)(\alpha (x))^{n-i}\) for all \(x\in R\) . Then, \(D\) is Jordan \((\alpha , \beta )\) -derivation and \(F\) is generalized Jordan \((\alpha , \beta )\) -derivation on \(R\) . At last some immediate consequences of the above theorems have been given.  相似文献

Let \(\omega (n)\) denote the number of distinct prime factors of \(n\) . Then for any given \(K\ge 2\) , small \(\epsilon >0\) and sufficiently large (only depending on \(K\) and \(\epsilon \) ) \(x\) , there exist at least \(x^{1-\epsilon }\) integers \(n\in [x,(1+K^{-1})x]\) such that \(\omega (nj\pm a^hk)\ge (\log \log \log x)^{\frac{1}{3}-\epsilon }\) for all \(2\le a\le K\) , \(1\le j,k\le K\) and \(0\le h\le K\log x\) .  相似文献

Let \(\eta : C_{f,N}\rightarrow \mathbb {P}^1\) be a cyclic cover of \(\mathbb {P}^1\) of degree \(N\) which is totally and tamely ramified for all the ramification points. We determine the group of fixed points of the cyclic covering group \({{\mathrm{Aut}}}(\eta )\simeq \mathbb {Z}/ N \mathbb {Z}\) acting on the Jacobian \(J_N:={{\mathrm{Jac}}}(C_{f,N})\) . For each prime \(\ell \) distinct from the characteristic of the base field, the Tate module \(T_\ell J_N\) is shown to be a free module over the ring \(\mathbb {Z}_\ell [T]/(\sum _{i=0}^{N-1}T^i)\) . We also study the subvarieties of \(J_N\) and calculate the degree of the induced polarization on the new part \(J_N^\mathrm {new}\) of the Jacobian.  相似文献

We consider the problem of approximating the unknown density \(u\in L^2(\Omega ,\lambda )\) of a measure \(\mu \) on \(\Omega \subset \mathbb {R}^n\) , absolutely continuous with respect to some given reference measure \(\lambda \) , only from the knowledge of finitely many moments of \(\mu \) . Given \(d\in \mathbb {N}\) and moments of order \(d\) , we provide a polynomial \(p_d\) which minimizes the mean square error \(\int (u-p)^2d\lambda \) over all polynomials \(p\) of degree at most \(d\) . If there is no additional requirement, \(p_d\) is obtained as solution of a linear system. In addition, if \(p_d\) is expressed in the basis of polynomials that are orthonormal with respect to \(\lambda \) , its vector of coefficients is just the vector of given moments and no computation is needed. Moreover \(p_d\rightarrow u\) in \(L^2(\Omega ,\lambda )\) as \(d\rightarrow \infty \) . In general nonnegativity of \(p_d\) is not guaranteed even though \(u\) is nonnegative. However, with this additional nonnegativity requirement one obtains analogous results but computing \(p_d\ge 0\) that minimizes \(\int (u-p)^2d\lambda \) now requires solving an appropriate semidefinite program. We have tested the approach on some applications arising from the reconstruction of geometrical objects and the approximation of solutions of nonlinear differential equations. In all cases our results are significantly better than those obtained with the maximum entropy technique for estimating \(u\) .  相似文献

Let \(R\) be a finite chain ring with \(|R|=q^m\) , \(R/{{\mathrm{Rad}}}R\cong \mathbb {F}_q\) , and let \(\Omega ={{\mathrm{PHG}}}({}_RR^n)\) . Let \(\tau =(\tau _1,\ldots ,\tau _n)\) be an integer sequence satisfying \(m=\tau _1\ge \tau _2\ge \cdots \ge \tau _n\ge 0\) . We consider the incidence matrix of all shape \(\varvec{m}^s=(\underbrace{m,\ldots ,m}_s)\) versus all shape \(\tau \) subspaces of \(\Omega \) with \(\varvec{m}^s\preceq \tau \preceq \varvec{m}^{n-s}\) . We prove that the rank of \(M_{\varvec{m}^s,\tau }(\Omega )\) over \(\mathbb {Q}\) is equal to the number of shape \(\varvec{m}^s\) subspaces. This is a partial analog of Kantor’s result about the rank of the incidence matrix of all \(s\) dimensional versus all \(t\) dimensional subspaces of \({{\mathrm{PG}}}(n,q)\) . We construct an example for shapes \(\sigma \) and \(\tau \) for which the rank of \(M_{\sigma ,\tau }(\Omega )\) is not maximal.  相似文献

We study the semi-classical ground states of the nonlinear Maxwell–Dirac system: $$\begin{aligned} \left\{ \begin{array}{l} \alpha \cdot \left( i\hbar \nabla + q(x)\mathbf{A }(x)\right) w-a\beta w -\omega w - q(x)\phi (x) w = P(x)g(\left| w\right| ) w\\ -\Delta \phi =q(x)\left| w\right| ^2\\ -\Delta {A_k}=q(x)(\alpha _k w)\cdot \bar{w}\ \ \ \ k=1,2,3 \end{array} \right. \end{aligned}$$ for \(x\in \mathbb{R }^3\) , where \(\mathbf{A }\) is the magnetic field, \(\phi \) is the electron field and \(q\) describes the changing pointwise charge distribution. We develop a variational method to establish the existence of least energy solutions for \(\hbar \) small. We also describe the concentration behavior of the solutions as \(\hbar \rightarrow 0\) .  相似文献

Let \(p\) be a prime and let \(A\) be a nonempty subset of the cyclic group \(C_p\) . For a field \({\mathbb F}\) and an element \(f\) in the group algebra \({\mathbb F}[C_p]\) let \(T_f\) be the endomorphism of \({\mathbb F}[C_p]\) given by \(T_f(g)=fg\) . The uncertainty number \(u_{{\mathbb F}}(A)\) is the minimal rank of \(T_f\) over all nonzero \(f \in {\mathbb F}[C_p]\) such that \(\mathrm{supp}(f) \subset A\) . The following topological characterization of uncertainty numbers is established. For \(1 \le k \le p\) define the sum complex \(X_{A,k}\) as the \((k-1)\) -dimensional complex on the vertex set \(C_p\) with a full \((k-2)\) -skeleton whose \((k-1)\) -faces are all \(\sigma \subset C_p\) such that \(|\sigma |=k\) and \(\prod _{x \in \sigma }x \in A\) . It is shown that if \({\mathbb F}\) is algebraically closed then $$\begin{aligned} u_{{\mathbb F}}(A)=p-\max \{k :\tilde{H}_{k-1}(X_{A,k};{\mathbb F}) \ne 0\}. \end{aligned}$$ The main ingredient in the proof is the determination of the homology groups of \(X_{A,k}\) with field coefficients. In particular it is shown that if \(|A| \le k\) then \(\tilde{H}_{k-1}(X_{A,k};{\mathbb F}_p)\!=\!0.\)   相似文献

Let \(A\) and \(B\) be two points of \(\mathrm{{PG}}(2,q^n)\) , and let \(\Phi \) be a collineation between the pencils of lines with vertices \(A\) and \(B\) . In this paper, we prove that the set of points of intersection of corresponding lines under \(\Phi \) is either the union of a scattered \(\mathrm{{GF}}(q)\) -linear set of rank \(n+1\) with the line \(AB\) or the union of \(q-1\) scattered \(\mathrm{{GF}}(q)\) -linear sets of rank \(n\) with \(A\) and \(B\) . We also determine the intersection configurations of two scattered \(\mathrm{{GF}}(q)\) -linear sets of rank \(n+1\) of \(\mathrm{{PG}}(2,q^n)\) both meeting the line \(AB\) in a \(\mathrm{{GF}}(q)\) -linear set of pseudoregulus type with transversal points \(A\) and \(B\) .  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence and concentration properties of the ground state solutions to the following coupled Schrödinger systems $$\begin{aligned} \left\{ \begin{array}{l} -\varepsilon ^2\varDelta u+u+V(x)v=W(x)G_{v}(z)~\hbox { in }\ {\mathbb {R}}^N,\\ -\varepsilon ^2\varDelta v+v+V(x)u=W(x)G_{u}(z)~\hbox {in } \ {\mathbb {R}}^N,\\ u(x)\rightarrow 0\ \hbox {and }v(x)\rightarrow 0\ \hbox {as } \ |x|\rightarrow \infty , \end{array} \right. \end{aligned}$$ and $$\begin{aligned} \left\{ \begin{array}{l} -\varepsilon ^2\varDelta u+u+V(x)v=W(x)(G_{v}(z)+|z|^{2^*-2}v)~\hbox {in } \ {\mathbb {R}}^N,\\ -\varepsilon ^2\varDelta v+v+V(x)u=W(x)(G_{u}(z)+|z|^{2^*-2}u)~\hbox {in } \ {\mathbb {R}}^N,\\ u(x)\rightarrow 0\ \hbox {and }v(x)\rightarrow 0\ \hbox {as } \ |x|\rightarrow \infty , \end{array} \right. \end{aligned}$$ where \(z=(u,v)\in {\mathbb {R}}^2\) , \(G\) is a power type nonlinearity, having superquadratic growth at both \(0\) and infinity but subcritical, \(V\) can be sign-changing and \(\inf W>0\) . We prove the existence, exponential decay, \(H^2\) -convergence and concentration phenomena of the ground state solutions for small \(\varepsilon >0\) .  相似文献

Let \(G\) be a locally compact topological group, acting measurably on some Borel spaces \(S\) and \(T\) , and consider some jointly stationary random measures \(\xi \) on \(S\times T\) and \(\eta \) on \(S\) such that \(\xi (\cdot \times T)\ll \eta \) a.s. Then there exists a stationary random kernel \(\zeta \) from \(S\) to \(T\) such that \(\xi =\eta \otimes \zeta \) a.s. This follows from the existence of an invariant kernel \(\varphi \) from \(S\times {\mathcal {M}}_{S\times T}\times {\mathcal {M}}_S\) to \(T\) such that \(\mu =\nu \otimes \varphi (\cdot ,\mu ,\nu )\) whenever \(\mu (\cdot \times T)\ll \nu \) . Also included are some related results on stationary integration, absolute continuity, and ergodic decomposition.  相似文献

The path \(W[0,t]\) of a Brownian motion on a \(d\) -dimensional torus \(\mathbb T ^d\) run for time \(t\) is a random compact subset of \(\mathbb T ^d\) . We study the geometric properties of the complement \(\mathbb T ^d{{\setminus }} W[0,t]\) as \(t\rightarrow \infty \) for \(d\ge 3\) . In particular, we show that the largest regions in \(\mathbb T ^d{{\setminus }} W[0,t]\) have a linear scale \(\varphi _d(t)=[(d\log t)/(d-2)\kappa _d t]^{1/(d-2)}\) , where \(\kappa _d\) is the capacity of the unit ball. More specifically, we identify the sets \(E\) for which \(\mathbb T ^d{{\setminus }} W[0,t]\) contains a translate of \(\varphi _d(t)E\) , and we count the number of disjoint such translates. Furthermore, we derive large deviation principles for the largest inradius of \(\mathbb T ^d{{\setminus }} W[0,t]\) as \(t\rightarrow \infty \) and the \(\varepsilon \) -cover time of \(\mathbb T ^d\) as \(\varepsilon \downarrow 0\) . Our results, which generalise laws of large numbers proved by Dembo et al. (Electron J Probab 8(15):1–14, 2003), are based on a large deviation estimate for the shape of the component with largest capacity in \(\mathbb T ^d{{\setminus }} W_{\rho (t)}[0,t]\) , where \(W_{\rho (t)}[0,t]\) is the Wiener sausage of radius \(\rho (t)\) , with \(\rho (t)\) chosen much smaller than \(\varphi _d(t)\) but not too small. The idea behind this choice is that \(\mathbb T ^d {{\setminus }} W[0,t]\) consists of “lakes”, whose linear size is of order \(\varphi _d(t)\) , connected by narrow “channels”. We also derive large deviation principles for the principal Dirichlet eigenvalue and for the maximal volume of the components of \(\mathbb T ^d {{\setminus }} W_{\rho (t)}[0,t]\) as \(t\rightarrow \infty \) . Our results give a complete picture of the extremal geometry of \(\mathbb T ^d{{\setminus }} W[0,t]\) and of the optimal strategy for \(W[0,t]\) to realise extreme events.  相似文献

In this paper we will study the equation $$\begin{aligned} \Delta ^2 u=S_2(D^2u),\quad \Omega \subset \mathbb {R}^N, \end{aligned}$$ with \(N=3,\) where \( S_2(D^2u)(x)=\sum _{1\le i , being \(\lambda _i,\) the solutions to the equation $$\begin{aligned} \mathrm{det}\left( \lambda I-D^2u(x)\right) =0, \end{aligned}$$ \(i=1,\dots ,N,\) and \(\Omega \) is a bounded domain with smooth boundary. We deal with several boundary conditions looking for the appropriate framework to get existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions. This kind of equation is related to some models of growth, and for this reason it is natural to study the effect of zero order local reaction terms of the type \(F_{\lambda }(x,u)=\lambda |u|^{p-1}u\) , with \(\lambda \in \mathbb {R}\) , \(\lambda >0\) , and \(0 , and also the solvability of the boundary problems with a source term \(f\) satisfying some integrability hypotheses.  相似文献

A subgroup \(H\) of an Abelian group \(G\) is called fully inert if \((\phi H + H)/H\) is finite for every \(\phi \in \mathrm{End}(G)\) . Fully inert subgroups of free Abelian groups are characterized. It is proved that \(H\) is fully inert in the free group \(G\) if and only if it is commensurable with \(n G\) for some \(n \ge 0\) , that is, \((H + nG)/H\) and \((H + nG)/nG\) are both finite. From this fact we derive a more structural characterization of fully inert subgroups \(H\) of free groups \(G\) , in terms of the Ulm–Kaplansky invariants of \(G/H\) and the Hill–Megibben invariants of the exact sequence \(0 \rightarrow H \rightarrow G \rightarrow G/H \rightarrow 0\) .  相似文献
