In this paper, we study a special class of Finsler metrics, \((\alpha ,\beta )\)-metrics, defined by \(F=\alpha \phi (\beta /\alpha )\), where \(\alpha \) is a Riemannian metric and \(\beta \) is a 1-form. We find an equation that characterizes Ricci-flat \((\alpha ,\beta )\)-metrics under the condition that the length of \(\beta \) with respect to \(\alpha \) is constant.  相似文献

We will provide sufficient conditions for the shifted hypergeometric function \(z_2F_1(a,b;c;z)\) to be a member of a specific subclass of starlike functions in terms of the complex parameters ab and c. For example, we study starlikeness of order \(\alpha ,\) \(\lambda \)-spirallikeness of order \(\alpha \) and strong starlikeness of order \(\alpha .\) In particular, those properties lead to univalence of the shifted hypergeometric functions on the unit disk.  相似文献

For fixed real numbers \(c>0,\)\(\alpha >-\frac{1}{2},\) the finite Hankel transform operator, denoted by \(\mathcal {H}_c^{\alpha }\) is given by the integral operator defined on \(L^2(0,1)\) with kernel \(K_{\alpha }(x,y)= \sqrt{c xy} J_{\alpha }(cxy).\) To the operator \(\mathcal {H}_c^{\alpha },\) we associate a positive, self-adjoint compact integral operator \(\mathcal Q_c^{\alpha }=c\, \mathcal {H}_c^{\alpha }\, \mathcal {H}_c^{\alpha }.\) Note that the integral operators \(\mathcal {H}_c^{\alpha }\) and \(\mathcal Q_c^{\alpha }\) commute with a Sturm-Liouville differential operator \(\mathcal D_c^{\alpha }.\) In this paper, we first give some useful estimates and bounds of the eigenfunctions \(\varphi ^{(\alpha )}_{n,c}\) of \(\mathcal H_c^{\alpha }\) or \(\mathcal Q_c^{\alpha }.\) These estimates and bounds are obtained by using some special techniques from the theory of Sturm-Liouville operators, that we apply to the differential operator \(\mathcal D_c^{\alpha }.\) If \((\mu _{n,\alpha }(c))_n\) and \(\lambda _{n,\alpha }(c)=c\, |\mu _{n,\alpha }(c)|^2\) denote the infinite and countable sequence of the eigenvalues of the operators \(\mathcal {H}_c^{(\alpha )}\) and \(\mathcal Q_c^{\alpha },\) arranged in the decreasing order of their magnitude, then we show an unexpected result that for a given integer \(n\ge 0,\)\(\lambda _{n,\alpha }(c)\) is decreasing with respect to the parameter \(\alpha .\) As a consequence, we show that for \(\alpha \ge \frac{1}{2},\) the \(\lambda _{n,\alpha }(c)\) and the \(\mu _{n,\alpha }(c)\) have a super-exponential decay rate. Also, we give a lower decay rate of these eigenvalues. As it will be seen, the previous results are essential tools for the analysis of a spectral approximation scheme based on the eigenfunctions of the finite Hankel transform operator. Some numerical examples will be provided to illustrate the results of this work.  相似文献

In this paper we study eigenfunctions and fundamental solutions for the three parameter fractional Laplace operator \(\Delta _+^{(\alpha , \beta , \gamma )}:= D_{x_0^+}^{1+\alpha } +D_{y_0^+}^{1+\beta } +D_{z_0^+}^{1+\gamma },\) where \((\alpha , \beta , \gamma ) \in \,]0,1]^3\), and the fractional derivatives \(D_{x_0^+}^{1+\alpha }, D_{y_0^+}^{1+\beta }, D_{z_0^+}^{1+\gamma }\) are in the Riemann–Liouville sense. Applying operational techniques via two-dimensional Laplace transform we describe a complete family of eigenfunctions and fundamental solutions of the operator \(\Delta _+^{(\alpha ,\beta ,\gamma )}\) in classes of functions admitting a summable fractional derivative. Making use of the Mittag–Leffler function, a symbolic operational form of the solutions is presented. From the obtained family of fundamental solutions we deduce a family of fundamental solutions of the fractional Dirac operator, which factorizes the fractional Laplace operator. We apply also the method of separation of variables to obtain eigenfunctions and fundamental solutions.  相似文献

A bounded linear operator T acting on a Hilbert space is said to have orthogonality property \(\mathcal {O}\) if the subspaces \(\ker (T-\alpha )\) and \(\ker (T-\beta )\) are orthogonal for all \(\alpha , \beta \in \sigma _p(T)\) with \(\alpha \ne \beta \). In this paper, the authors investigate the compact perturbations of operators with orthogonality property \(\mathcal {O}\). We give a sufficient and necessary condition to determine when an operator T has the following property: for each \(\varepsilon >0\), there exists \(K\in \mathcal {K(H)}\) with \(\Vert K\Vert <\varepsilon \) such that \(T+K\) has orthogonality property \(\mathcal {O}\). Also, we study the stability of orthogonality property \(\mathcal {O}\) under small compact perturbations and analytic functional calculus.  相似文献

We consider the positive solutions of the nonlinear eigenvalue problem \(-\Delta _{\mathbb {H}^n} u = \lambda u + u^p, \) with \(p=\frac{n+2}{n-2}\) and \(u \in H_0^1(\Omega ),\) where \(\Omega \) is a geodesic ball of radius \(\theta _1\) on \(\mathbb {H}^n.\) For radial solutions, this equation can be written as an ordinary differential equation having n as a parameter. In this setting, the problem can be extended to consider real values of n. We show that if \(2<n<4\) this problem has a unique positive solution if and only if \(\lambda \in \left( n(n-2)/4 +L^*\,,\, \lambda _1\right) .\) Here \(L^*\) is the first positive value of \(L = -\ell (\ell +1)\) for which a suitably defined associated Legendre function \(P_{\ell }^{-\alpha }(\cosh \theta ) >0\) if \(0 < \theta <\theta _1\) and \(P_{\ell }^{-\alpha }(\cosh \theta _1)=0,\) with \(\alpha = (2-n)/2\).  相似文献

Let X be a locally compact Abelian group, \(\alpha _{j}, \beta _j\) be topological automorphisms of X. Let \(\xi _1, \xi _2\) be independent random variables with values in X and distributions \(\mu _j\) with non-vanishing characteristic functions. It is known that if X contains no subgroup topologically isomorphic to the circle group \(\mathbb {T}\), then the independence of the linear forms \(L_1=\alpha _1\xi _1+\alpha _2\xi _2\) and \(L_2=\beta _1\xi _1+\beta _2\xi _2\) implies that \(\mu _j\) are Gaussian distributions. We prove that if X contains no subgroup topologically isomorphic to \(\mathbb {T}^2\), then the independence of \(L_1\) and \(L_2\) implies that \(\mu _j\) are either Gaussian distributions or convolutions of Gaussian distributions and signed measures supported in a subgroup of X generated by an element of order 2. The proof is based on solving the Skitovich–Darmois functional equation on some locally compact Abelian groups.  相似文献

Let Q be a quasigroup. For \(\alpha ,\beta \in S_Q\) let \(Q_{\alpha ,\beta }\) be the principal isotope \(x*y = \alpha (x)\beta (y)\). Put \(\mathbf a(Q)= |\{(x,y,z)\in Q^3;\) \(x(yz)) = (xy)z\}|\) and assume that \(|Q|=n\). Then \(\sum _{\alpha ,\beta }\mathbf a(Q_{\alpha ,\beta })/(n!)^2 = n^2(1+(n-1)^{-1})\), and for every \(\alpha \in S_Q\) there is \(\sum _\beta \mathbf a(Q_{\alpha ,\beta })/n! = n(n-1)^{-1}\sum _x(f_x^2-2f_x+n)\ge n^2\), where \(f_x=|\{y\in Q;\) \( y = \alpha (y)x\}|\). If G is a group and \(\alpha \) is an orthomorphism, then \(\mathbf a(G_{\alpha ,\beta })=n^2\) for every \(\beta \in S_Q\). A detailed case study of \(\mathbf a(G_{\alpha ,\beta })\) is made for the situation when \(G = \mathbb Z_{2d}\), and both \(\alpha \) and \(\beta \) are “natural” near-orthomorphisms. Asymptotically, \(\mathbf a(G_{\alpha ,\beta })>3n\) if G is an abelian group of order n. Computational results: \(\mathbf a(7) = 17\) and \(\mathbf a(8) \le 21\), where \(\mathbf a(n) = \min \{\mathbf a(Q);\) \( |Q|=n\}\). There are also determined minimum values for \(\mathbf a(G_{\alpha ,\beta })\), G a group of order \(\le 8\).  相似文献

We give Fourier spectrum characterizations of functions in the Hardy \(H^p\) spaces on tubes for \(1\le p \le \infty .\) For \(F\in L^p(\mathbb {R}^n), \) we show that F is the non-tangential boundary limit of a function in a Hardy space, \(H^{p}(T_\Gamma ),\) where \(\Gamma \) is an open cone of \(\mathbb {R}^n\) and \(T_\Gamma \) is the related tube in \(\mathbb {C}^n,\) if and only if the classical or the distributional Fourier transform of F is supported in \(\Gamma ^*,\) where \(\Gamma ^*\) is the dual cone of \(\Gamma .\) This generalizes the results of Stein and Weiss for \(p=2\) in the same context, as well as those of Qian et al. in one complex variable for \(1\le p\le \infty .\) Furthermore, we extend the Poisson and Cauchy integral representation formulas to the \(H^p\) spaces on tubes for \(p\in [1, \infty ]\) and \(p\in [1,\infty ),\) with, respectively, the two types of representations.  相似文献

For \(\alpha , \beta \in L^{\infty } (S^1),\) the singular integral operator \(S_{\alpha ,\beta }\) on \(L^2 (S^1)\) is defined by \(S_{\alpha ,\beta }f:= \alpha Pf+\beta Qf\), where P denotes the orthogonal projection of \(L^2(S^1)\) onto the Hardy space \(H^2(S^1),\) and Q denotes the orthogonal projection onto \(H^2(S^1)^{\perp }\). In a recent paper, Nakazi and Yamamoto have studied the normality and self-adjointness of \(S_{\alpha ,\beta }\). This work has shown that \(S_{\alpha ,\beta }\) may have analogous properties to that of the Toeplitz operator. In this paper, we study several other properties of \(S_{\alpha ,\beta }\).  相似文献

Let \(\alpha ,\beta \) be orientation-preserving diffeomorphism (shifts) of \(\mathbb {R}_+=(0,\infty )\) onto itself with the only fixed points \(0\) and \(\infty \) and \(U_\alpha ,U_\beta \) be the isometric shift operators on \(L^p(\mathbb {R}_+)\) given by \(U_\alpha f=(\alpha ')^{1/p}(f\circ \alpha )\), \(U_\beta f=(\beta ')^{1/p}(f\circ \beta )\), and \(P_2^\pm =(I\pm S_2)/2\) where
$$\begin{aligned} (S_2 f)(t):=\frac{1}{\pi i}\int \limits _0^\infty \left( \frac{t}{\tau }\right) ^{1/2-1/p}\frac{f(\tau )}{\tau -t}\,d\tau , \quad t\in \mathbb {R}_+, \end{aligned}$$
is the weighted Cauchy singular integral operator. We prove that if \(\alpha ',\beta '\) and \(c,d\) are continuous on \(\mathbb {R}_+\) and slowly oscillating at \(0\) and \(\infty \), and
$$\begin{aligned} \limsup _{t\rightarrow s}|c(t)|<1, \quad \limsup _{t\rightarrow s}|d(t)|<1, \quad s\in \{0,\infty \}, \end{aligned}$$
then the operator \((I-cU_\alpha )P_2^++(I-dU_\beta )P_2^-\) is Fredholm on \(L^p(\mathbb {R}_+)\) and its index is equal to zero. Moreover, its regularizers are described.

We consider in a group \((G,\cdot )\) the ternary relation
$$\begin{aligned} \kappa := \{(\alpha , \beta , \gamma ) \in G^3 \ | \ \alpha \cdot \beta ^{-1} \cdot \gamma = \gamma \cdot \beta ^{-1} \cdot \alpha \} \end{aligned}$$
and show that \(\kappa \) is a ternary equivalence relation if and only if the set \( \mathfrak Z \) of centralizers of the group G forms a fibration of G (cf. Theorems 2, 3). Therefore G can be provided with an incidence structure
$$\begin{aligned} \mathfrak G:= \{\gamma \cdot Z \ | \ \gamma \in G , Z \in \mathfrak Z(G) \}. \end{aligned}$$
We study the automorphism group of \((G,\kappa )\), i.e. all permutations \(\varphi \) of the set G such that \( (\alpha , \beta , \gamma ) \in \kappa \) implies \((\varphi (\alpha ),\varphi (\beta ),\varphi (\gamma ))\in \kappa \). We show \(\mathrm{Aut}(G,\kappa )=\mathrm{Aut}(G,\mathfrak G)\), \(\mathrm{Aut} (G,\cdot ) \subseteq \mathrm{Aut}(G,\kappa )\) and if \( \varphi \in \mathrm{Aut}(G,\kappa )\) with \(\varphi (1)=1\) and \(\varphi (\xi ^{-1})= (\varphi (\xi ))^{-1}\) for all \(\xi \in G\) then \(\varphi \) is an automorphism of \((G,\cdot )\). This allows us to prove a representation theorem of \(\mathrm{Aut}(G,\kappa )\) (cf. Theorem 6) and that for \(\alpha \in G \) the maps
$$\begin{aligned} \tilde{\alpha }\ : \ G \rightarrow G;~ \xi \mapsto \alpha \cdot \xi ^{-1} \cdot \alpha \end{aligned}$$
of the corresponding reflection structure \((G, \widetilde{G})\) (with \( \tilde{G} := \{\tilde{\gamma }\ | \ \gamma \in G \}\)) are point reflections. If \((G ,\cdot )\) is uniquely 2-divisible and if for \(\alpha \in G\), \(\alpha ^{1\over 2}\) denotes the unique solution of \(\xi ^2=\alpha \) then with \(\alpha \odot \beta := \alpha ^{1\over 2} \cdot \beta \cdot \alpha ^{1\over 2}\), the pair \((G,\odot )\) is a K-loop (cf. Theorem 5).

Let \(\alpha \) and \(\beta \) be irrational real numbers and \(0<\varepsilon <1/30\). We prove a precise estimate for the number of positive integers \(q\le Q\) that satisfy \(\Vert q\alpha \Vert \cdot \Vert q\beta \Vert <\varepsilon \). If we choose \(\varepsilon \) as a function of Q, we get asymptotics as Q gets large, provided \(\varepsilon Q\) grows quickly enough in terms of the (multiplicative) Diophantine type of \((\alpha ,\beta )\), e.g., if \((\alpha ,\beta )\) is a counterexample to Littlewood’s conjecture, then we only need that \(\varepsilon Q\) tends to infinity. Our result yields a new upper bound on sums of reciprocals of products of fractional parts and sheds some light on a recent question of Lê and Vaaler.  相似文献

It is well-known that curvelets provide optimal approximations for so-called cartoon images which are defined as piecewise \(C^2\)-functions, separated by a \(C^2\) singularity curve. In this paper, we consider the more general case of piecewise \(C^\beta \)-functions, separated by a \(C^\beta \) singularity curve for \(\beta \in (1,2]\). We first prove a benchmark result for the possibly achievable best N-term approximation rate for this more general signal model. Then we introduce what we call \(\alpha \)-curvelets, which are systems that interpolate between wavelet systems on the one hand (\(\alpha = 1\)) and curvelet systems on the other hand (\(\alpha = \frac{1}{2}\)). Our main result states that those frames achieve this optimal rate for \(\alpha = \frac{1}{\beta }\), up to \(\log \)-factors.  相似文献

Asymptotically harmonic manifolds are simply connected complete Riemannian manifolds without conjugate points such that all horospheres have the same constant mean curvature \(h\). In this article we present results for harmonic functions on rank one asymptotically harmonic manifolds \(X\) with mild curvature boundedness conditions. Our main results are (a) the explicit calculation of the Radon–Nikodym derivative of the visibility measures, (b) an explicit integral representation for the solution of the Dirichlet problem at infinity in terms of these visibility measures, and (c) a result on horospherical means of bounded eigenfunctions implying that these eigenfunctions do not admit non-trivial continuous extensions to the geometric compactification \(\overline{X}\).  相似文献

A translation surface in Euclidean space is a surface that is the sum of two regular curves \(\alpha \) and \(\beta \). In this paper we characterize all minimal translation surfaces. In the case that \(\alpha \) and \(\beta \) are non-planar curves, we prove that the curvature \(\kappa \) and the torsion \(\tau \) of both curves must satisfy the equation \(\kappa ^2 \tau = C\) where C is constant. We show that, up to a rigid motion and a dilation in the Euclidean space and, up to reparametrizations of the curves generating the surfaces, all minimal translation surfaces are described by two real parameters \(a,b\in \mathbb {R}\) where the surface is of the form \(\phi (s,t)=\beta _{a,b}(s)+\beta _{a,b}(t)\).  相似文献

In this paper we show that a Leray–Hopf weak solution u to 3D Navier–Stokes initial value problem is smooth if there is some \(\alpha \in {{{\mathbb {R}}}}, \alpha \ne 0,\) such that \(\alpha u_3+(-\Delta )^{-1/2}\omega _3\) is suitably smooth, where \(\omega =\text {curl}\,u\).  相似文献

We establish the existence and uniqueness of a positive solution to the Schrödinger equation involving the fractional Laplacian \(\Delta ^{\frac{\alpha }{2}}u=\mu \,u\) in smooth bounded domains of \(\mathbb {R}^d\) for a large class of nonnegative perturbations \(\mu \). We then use this result to give some new facts about the fractional semilinear equation \(\Delta ^{\frac{\alpha }{2}}u= u^\gamma \), \(\gamma >0\).  相似文献
