We studied the doping dependence of the superconducting gap in La2−xSrxCuO4 (LSCO) by means of Andreev reflection measurements in Au/LSCO point-contact junctions. The Andreev reflection features were found to disappear at TcA close to the bulk Tc. The fit of the conductance curves with the BTK-Tanaka-Kashiwaya model gives good results if a (s+d)-wave gap symmetry is used. The low-temperature dominant isotropic gap component Δs follows very well the Tc vs. x curve, while the gap-like features observed by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and tunneling scale with T. This confirms the different origin of these two energy scales at T<Tc.  相似文献

Electron tunneling spectroscopy of the organic superconductor κ-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu(NCS)2using low temperature scanning tunneling microscope (STM) is reported. The tunneling differential conductance in the superconducting phase was obtained in thebcplane of a single crystal, by varying the tip position on the sample surface. The differential conductance is reduced near zero bias voltage and enhanced at the gap edge, associated with the superconducting gap structure below[formula] K. The gap width differs slightly from sample to sample, while the overall functional shape of the conductance is sample-independent. The tunneling conductance is reduced to almost zero near zero bias voltage, while it is finite inside the gap edge. The curve obtained cannot be fit to the BCS density of states withs-wave pairing symmetry, even if the life-time broadening of one-electron levels is taken into account. Finite conductance inside the gap edge suggests anisotropy of the gap. However, the conductance curve obtained is not explained by a simpled-wave symmetry for Δ(k). The reduced conductance near zero bias voltage suggests a finite gap. An anisotropic model with a finite gap, in which Δ(k) varies depending on the direction ink-space, is examined. The tunneling conductance in the low-energy region is almost fit by the model with Δmin = 2 meV and Δmax = 6 meV. The finite conductance is explained by introducing a small effect of life time broadening. We conclude that the gap is anisotropic and is finite (at least Δmin = 2 meV) on the entire Fermi surface.  相似文献

We solve a self-consistent equation for the d-wave superconducting gap and the magnetization in the mean-field approximation, study the Zeeman effects on the thermodynamic potential of d-wave superconductor (S) and coherent quantum transport in normal-metal (N)/d-wave S/N double tunnel junctions. Taking simultaneously into account the electron-injected current from one N electrode and the hole-injected current from the other N electrode, we derive a general formula for the differential conductance in a N/d-wave S/N system under a Zeeman magnetic field on the d-wave S. It is found that oscillations of all quasiparticle transport coefficients and differential conductance with the bias voltage and the thickness of the d-wave S depend to a great extent on the crystal orientation of the d-wave S. In the N/d-wave S/N junctions, the Zeeman magnetic field can lead to the Zeeman splitting of conductance peaks, and the temperature can reduce the coherent effect.  相似文献

Iron-oxypnictide superconductor NdFeAs(O0.9F0.1) was studied using both low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS) and tunnel break junction (BJ) methods. STM topography showed granular and spot structures with a typical size of several nanometers, most probably governed by fluorine atom distribution. The majority of STS conductance, G, versus voltage, V, curves revealed V-shaped structures, whereas some of G(V) dependences possessed coherent gap peaks or kinks at gap energies. At the same time, G(V) dependences obtained by the BJ technique showed clear-cut coherence peaks with peak-to-peak distances Vpp = 4Δ/e ∼ 25 mV at 4.2 K, where Δ is the superconducting energy gap, > 0 is the elementary charge. This yields Δ(0) = 6–7 meV, so that the ratio 2Δ(0)/kBTc is about 3–4, kB being the Boltzmann constant. This value is consistent with the conventional weak-coupling s-wave Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer theory.  相似文献

We propose to use a two-species Fermi gas with the interspecies s-wave Feshbach resonance to realize p-wave superfluidity in two dimensions. By confining one species of fermions in a two-dimensional plane immersed in the background three-dimensional Fermi sea of the other species, an attractive interaction is induced between two-dimensional fermions. We compute the pairing gap in the weak-coupling regime and show that it has the symmetry of px+ipy. Because the magnitude of the pairing gap increases toward the unitarity limit, it is possible that the critical temperature for the px+ipy-wave superfluidity becomes within experimental reach. The resulting system has a potential application to topological quantum computation using vortices with non-Abelian statistics. We also discuss aspects of our system in the unitarity limit as a “nonrelativistic defect conformal field theory (CFT)”. The reduced Schrödinger algebra, operator-state correspondence, scaling dimensions of composite operators, and operator product expansions are investigated.  相似文献

Current-voltage characteristics of S-I-S tunnel break junctions fabricated from pure undoped Bi2223 single crystals (T c =110 K) were measured. High quality of the crystals enabled production of good tunnel junctions with a low or almost zero leakage current and well developed gap structure in the tunneling spectra. The peak-to-peak energy gap values 2Δp-p in different crystals and the tunnel junctions ranged from 80 to 105 meV. The tunneling conductance in the superconducting state was normalized to that in the normal state and compared to a smeared BCS density of states. A simple fit of the data gave the average value of Δ=38.5 meV and reduced gap 2Δ/kT c ?8, consistent with a very strong coupling mechanism.  相似文献

Synthetic conditions such as stoichiometries, temperature and pressure are optimized to achieve a high quality oxygen deficient SmFeAsO0.6 superconductor. Both electric and magnetic measurements show a sharp superconducting transition at about 55 K. Several important physical parameters are deduced. The apparent superconducting gap observed in heat capacity with 2Δo/kBTc of 4.57 larger than that of previous fluorine replaced samples indicate that this superconductivity will not strongly conflict with the phonon-mediated BCS mechanism. The mean free length ?=18.8 nm and the coherent length ξ=2.3-3.3 nm show that the superconductivity is in the clean limit.  相似文献

We study some parameters of superconductors with δ-function type singularities in the electronic density of states (DOS), exhibiting (s+d)-wave symmetry of the order parameter. Starting with a pure s-wave pairing potential Vs, the critical temperature Tc at first slightly increases with increasing the d-wave interaction potential Vd, being determined by this interaction only for stronger Vd values. The ratio R=2|Δ(0)|/kBTc of the mean value of the zero temperature energy gap |Δ(0)| to Tc increases with increasing Vd, reaching a maximum which depends on the mixing interaction term. The maximum values of R are comparable with very high values obtained in some gap measurements. The jump in the specific heat at critical temperature is by a factor 2.4 higher for the extreme singularity of pure s-wave symmetry, as compared with the BCS theory with constant DOS. Such higher values of the jump are in agreement with the experimentally observed values, as well as with the calculations determined by extended saddle points in the electronic bands. By switching the d-wave channel, the value of the jump decreases. The results show the usefulness of calculations with δ-type singularities as a limiting case of very strong singularities in the DOS.  相似文献

We study the transport through the Kitaev chain with incommensurate potentials coupled to two normal leads by the numerical operator method. We find a quantized linear conductance of e 2 / h, which is independent to the disorder strength and the gate voltage in a wide range, signaling the Majorana bound states. While the incommensurate potential suppresses the current at finite voltage bias, and then narrows the linear response regime of the I-V curve which exhibits two plateaus corresponding to the superconducting gap and the band edge, respectively. The linear conductance abruptly drops to zero as the disorder strength reaches the critical value 2g s + 2Δ with Δ the p-wave pairing amplitude and g s the hopping between neighbor sites, corresponding to the transition from the topological superconducting phase to the Anderson localized phase. Changing the gate voltage also causes an abrupt drop of the linear conductance by driving the chain into the topologically trivial superconducting phase, whose I-V curve exhibits an exponential shape.  相似文献

We have performed high-resolution photoemission spectroscopy (PES) on FeSr2YCu2O7+δ, of which superconductivity of Tc=49 K was recently reported. We clearly observed opening of a d-wave-like superconducting gap and estimated the maximum gap value (Δmax) to be 10 meV at 15 K. This gap value gives 2Δmax/kBTc∼5, suggesting a strong-coupling nature of superconductivity in FeSr2YCu2O7+δ. Comparative PES study with superconducting and insulating samples shows that the valence band is rigidly shifted as a function of doping without evolution of additional states within the insulating gap.  相似文献

In tunneling experiments with high-quality single crystals of a single-layer cuprate superconductor Bi2Sr2CuO6+δ using the break junction and point-contact techniques at T<T c, the coexistence of the superconducting-state gap and the normal-state gap was observed. The values of the superconducting energy gap 2Δp?p are in the range from 13.4 to 15 meV (Δp?p=6.7–7.5 meV). The values of 2Δp?p are similar for two samples with T c=4 K and for two samples with T c=9–10 K and are independent of the carrier concentration. The normal-state gap, with the magnitude approximately equal to 50 meV, persists at T<T c and in the magnetic field H?H c2 up to 28 T. After the transition of the sample to the normal state, the intensity of the tunneling conductance rapidly decreases with increasing magnetic field strength and temperature. The observed large broadening of the tunneling spectra and large zero-bias conductances can be caused by a strong angular dependence of the superconducting gap. The tunneling results are in full agreement with the data of the angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy measurements.  相似文献

We study the current-induced bottom baryon to charm baryon transitions in the Heavy Quark Symmetry limit as mq → ∞. Our discussion involves s-wave to s-wave as well as s-wave to p-wave transitions. Using a constituent quark model picture for the light diquark system with an underlying SU (2Nf) ? O(3) symmetry and the heavy quark symmetry we arrive at a number of new predictions for the reduced form factors that describe these transitions.  相似文献

We evaluate some thermodynamic quantities and characteristic ratios that describe low- and high-temperature s-wave superconducting systems. Based on a set of fundamental equations derived within the conformal transformation method, a simple model is proposed and studied analytically. After including a one-parameter class of fluctuations in the density of states, the mathematical structure of the s-wave superconducting gap, the free energy difference, and the specific heat difference is found and discussed in an analytic manner. Both the zero-temperature limit T = 0 and the subcritical temperature range T ? Tc are discussed using the method of successive approximations. The equation for the ratio R1, relating the zero-temperature energy gap and the critical temperature, is formulated and solved numerically for various values of the model parameter. Other thermodynamic quantities are analyzed, including a characteristic ratio R2, quantifying the dynamics of the specific heat jump at the critical temperature. It is shown that the obtained model results coincide with experimental data for low-Tc superconductors. The prospect of application of the presented model in studies of high-Tc superconductors and other superconducting systems of the new generation is also discussed.  相似文献

We have measured tunnel conductance of spin-triplet superconductor Sr2RuO4 (SRO) break junction which was made by micro fabrication technique with a focused ion beam. This is a new type of tunnel junctions made of SRO, which is different from those made of SRO and other materials. Since the tunnel conductance is sensitive to the internal phase of superconductivity, it enables us to examine the chiral p-wave pairing state, which is the most probable candidate of SRO. The tunnel conductance spectrum of the junction showed a broad zero-bias conductance peak whose shape is different from that of high-Tc cuprate superconductors. The shape of the spectrum is in quite good agreement with the calculated spectrum of a chiral p-wave/insulator/normal metal junction.  相似文献

Andreev bound states at the surface of superconductors are expected for any pair potential showing a sign change in different k-directions with their spectral weight depending on the relative orientation of the surface and the pair potential. We report on the observation of Andreev bound states in high temperature superconductors (HTS) employing tunneling spectroscopy on bicrystal grain boundary Josephson junctions (GBJs). The tunneling spectra were studied as a function of temperature and applied magnetic field. The tunneling spectra of GBJ formed by YBa2Cu3O (YBCO), Bi2Sr2CaCu2O(BSCCO), and La1.85Sr0.15CuO4 (LSCO) show a pronounced zero bias conductance peak that can be interpreted in terms of Andreev bound states at zero energy that are expected at the surface of HTS having a d-wave symmetry of the order parameter. In contrast, for the most likely s-wave HTS Nd1.85Ce0.15CuO4-y (NCCO) no zero bias conductance peak was observed. Applying a magnetic field results in a shift of spectral weight from zero to finite energy. This shift is found to depend nonlinearly on the applied magnetic field. Further consequences of the Andreev bound states are discussed and experimental evidence for anomalous Meissner currents is presented. The temperature dependence of the ac susceptibility (χ) at constant applied magnetic field was investigated in the paramagnetic region of the quasi-2D ferromagnet (CH3NH3)2CuCl4. Above the Curie temperature (TC=8.85 K) a maximum in the χ(T,H) curves was observed at Tm(H). The temperature at the maximum increases with increasing applied field. This anomaly is related to short range fluctuations close the order transition. The behavior of Tm(H) is governed by the gap exponent of the scaling function (Δ=γ+β). We found Δ=2.2±0.1 in very good agreement with the previously known values of γ and β.  相似文献

We consider Andreev reflection in a two dimensional junction between a normal metal and a heavy fermion superconductor in the Fulde–Ferrell (FF) type of the Fulde–Ferrell–Larkin–Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state. We assume s-wave symmetry of the superconducting gap. The parameters of the superconductor: the gap magnitude, the chemical potential, and the Cooper pair center-of-mass-momentum Q, are all determined self-consistently within a mean-field (BCS) scheme. The Cooper pair momentum Q is chosen as perpendicular to the junction interface. We calculate the junction conductance for a series of barrier strengths. In the case of incoming electron with spin σ = ↑ only for magnetic fields close to the upper critical field Hc2, we obtain the so-called Andreev window, i.e. the energy interval in which the reflection probability is maximal, which in turn is indicated by a peak in the conductance. The last result differs with other non-self-consistent calculations existing in the literature.  相似文献

Break-junction tunneling data are reported in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ over a wide range of hole concentration from underdoped to overdoped. The strong conductance peaks in the superconducting state reveal a single gap consistent with d-wave symmetry. In addition, sharp dips are observed at a voltage, Ω/e, measured with respect to the gap edge. These features are shown to be reproduced in other junction types from the literature including atomically resolved STM and c-axis mesas, establishing their intrinsic character. Trends are observed with doping and temperature which link the dip to the resonance spin excitation and indicate that the quasiparticles are strongly coupled to this mode.  相似文献

We present numerical calculations of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation (Rs) rate in the superconducting state of pure indium and slightly underdoped n-type cuprate Pr0.91LaCe0.09CuO4 − y. By properly taking into account electron-phonon coupling, our calculated Rs for the conventional s-wave superconductor, indium, is in quantitative agreement the experimental data with a clear Hebel-Slichter peak. In contrast, the absence of the Hebel-Slichter peak in the Rs data of Pr0.91LaCe0.09CuO4 − y can be explained by either d-wave or highly anisotropic s-wave gap symmetry. Thus, the absence of the Hebel-Slichter peak does not necessarily argue against an s-wave gap symmetry in this electron-doped cuprate.  相似文献
