The stochastic dynamics for point particles that corresponds to the Boltzmann equation with arbitrary differential scattering cross section is constructed. We derive the stochastic Boltzmann hierarchy the solutions of which outside the hyperplanes of lower dimension where the point particles interact are equal to the product of one-particle correlation functions, provided that the initial correlation functions are products of one-particle correlation functions. A one-particle correlation function satisfies the Boltzmann equation. The Kac dynamics in the momentum space is obtained.__________Published in Ukrains’kyi Matematychnyi Zhurnal, Vol. 56, No. 12, pp. 1629–1653, December, 2004.  相似文献

We consider different methods for the derivation of the stochastic Boltzmann hierarchy corresponding to the stochastic dynamics that is the Boltzmann-Grad limit of the Hamiltonian dynamics of hard spheres. Solutions of the stochastic Boltzmann hierarchy are the Boltzmann-Grad limit of solutions of the BBGKY hierarchy of hard spheres in the entire phase space. A new concept of reduced distribution functions corresponding to the stochastic dynamics are introduced. They take into account the contribution of the hyperplanes of lower dimension where stochastic point particles interact with one another. The solutions of the Boltzmann equation coincide with one-particle distribution functions of the stochastic Boltzmann hierarchy and are represented by integrals over the hyperplanes where the stochastic point particles interact with one another.  相似文献

Stochastic dynamics corresponding to the Boltzmann hierarchy is constructed. The Liouville-Itô equations are obtained, from which we derive the Boltzmann hierarchy regarded as an abstract evolution equation. We construct the semigroup of evolution operators and prove the existence of solutions of the Boltzmann hierarchy in the space of sequences of integrable and bounded functions. On the basis of these results, we prove the existence of global solutions of the Boltzmann equation and the existence of the Boltzmann-Grad limit for an arbitrary time interval.  相似文献

A derivation of the Boltzmann equation from the Liouville equation by the use of the Grad limiting procedure in a finite volume is proposed. We introduce two scales of space-time: macro- and microscale and use the BBGKY hierarchy and the functional formulation of classical mechanics. According to the functional approach to mechanics, a state of a system of particles is formed from the measurements, which are rational numbers. Hence, one can speak about the accuracy of the initial probability density function in the Liouville equation. We assume that the initial data for the microscopic density functions are assigned by the macroscopic one (so one can say about a kind of hierarchy and subordination of the microscale to the macroscale) and derive the Boltzmann equation, which leads to the entropy production.  相似文献

The Euler equations with frictional force have been extensively studied. Since the Boltzmann equation is closely related to the equations of gas dynamics, we study, in this paper, the Boltzmann equation with frictional force when the external force is proportional to the macroscopic velocity. It is shown that smooth initial perturbation of a given global Maxwellian leads to a unique global-in-time classical solution which approaches to the global Maxwellian time asymptotically. The analysis is based on the macro-micro decomposition for the Boltzmann equation introduced in Liu et al. [Energy method for the Boltzmann equation, Physica D 188 (3-4) (2004) 178-192] and Liu and Yu [Boltzmann equation: micro-macro-decompositions and positivity of shock profiles, Comm. Math. Phys. 246(1) (2004) 133-179] through energy estimates.  相似文献

A new algorithm and acorresponding software package are developed that contain a fast tensor algorithm for the deterministic solution of the Boltzmann equation. The domain space discretisation performed with the Delaunay grid and the velocity space discretisation is performed with the tensor grid, and benefits with multilinear decomposition. This algorithm is also implemented for GPGPU processors, which allows to reach very high computational performance. The memory and complexity requirements are comparable with most Navier-Stockes solvers, however we solve the Boltzmann equation with chemical reactions. (© 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. In this paper, a new lattice Boltzmann equation which is independent of time is proposed. Based on the new lattice Boltzmann equation, some steady problems can be modeled by the lattice Boltzmann method. In the further study, the Laplace equation is investigated with the method of the higher-order moment of equilibrium distribution functions and a series of partial differential equations in different space scales. The numerical results show that the new method is effective.  相似文献

We show that piecewise smooth solutions with shocks of the Euler equations in gas dynamics can be obtained as the zero Knudsen number limit of solutions of the Boltzmann equation for hard sphere collision model. The construction of the Boltzmann solutions is done in two steps. First we introduce a generalized Hilbert expansion with shock layer correction to construct approximations to the solutions of the Boltzmann equations with small Knudsen numbers. We then apply the recently developed macro‐micro decomposition and energy method for Boltzmann shock layers to construct the exact Boltzmann solutions through the stability analysis. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

This paper discusses the convergence of a new discrete‐velocity model to the Boltzmann equation. First the consistency of the collision integral approximation is proved. Based on this we prove the convergence of solutions for a modified model to renormalized solutions of the Boltzmann equation. In a numerical example, the solutions to the discrete problems are compared with the exact solution of the Boltzmann equation in the space‐homogeneous case. In this paper, a lattice Boltzmann model is presented for solving one and two-dimensional Fokker-Planck equations with variable coefficients. In particular, it is efficient to simulate one-dimensional stochastic processes governed by the Fokker-Planck equation. Numerical results agree well with the exact solutions, which indicates that the proposed model is suitable for solving the Fokker-Planck equation.  相似文献

In this work a new method is proposed for the solution of a spatially inhomogeneous Boltzmann equation. The key idea is to approximate the velocity space with multilinear tensors. This approach allows to solve huge numerical challenges with millions of space discretisations with the complexity of Navies-Stocks solvers. (© 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem of the Boltzmann equation with potential force in the whole space. When some more natural assumptions compared with those of the previous works are made on the potential force, we can still obtain a unique global solution to the Boltzmann equation even for the hard potential cases by energy method, if the initial data are sufficiently close to the steady state. Moreover, the solution is uniformly stable. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Convergence of a splitting method scheme for the nonlinear Boltzmann equation is considered. Using the splitting method scheme, boundedness of the positive solutions in a space of continuous functions is obtained. By means of the solution boundedness and some a priori estimates, convergence of the splitting method scheme and uniqueness of the limiting element are proved. The limiting element satisfies an equivalent integral Boltzmann equation. Thereby global in time solvability of the nonlinear Boltzmann equation is shown.  相似文献

In this paper a half space problem for the one-dimensional Boltzmann equation with specular reflective boundary condition is investigated. It is shown that the solution of the Boltzmann equation time-asymptotically converges to a global Maxwellian under some initial conditions. Furthermore, a time-decay rate is also obtained.  相似文献

A class of stochastic systems of particles with variable weights is studied. The corresponding empirical measures are shown to converge to the solution of the spatially homogeneous Boltzmann equation. In a certain sense, this class

of stochastic processes generalizes the “Kac master process”  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is to study the asymptotic equivalence of the Boltzmann equation for the hard-sphere collision model to its corresponding Euler equations of compressible gas dynamics in the limit of small mean free path. When the fluid flow is a smooth rarefaction (or centered rarefaction) wave with finite strength, the corresponding Boltzmann solution exists globally in time, and the solution converges to the rarefaction wave uniformly for all time (or away from t=0) as ?→0. A decomposition of a Boltzmann solution into its macroscopic (fluid) part and microscopic (kinetic) part is adopted to rewrite the Boltzmann equation in a form of compressible Navier-Stokes equations with source terms. In this setting, the same asymptotic equivalence of the full compressible Navier-Stokes equations to its corresponding Euler equations in the limit of small viscosity and heat conductivity (depending on the viscosity) is also obtained.  相似文献

It is known that the Boltzmann equation has close relation to the classical systems in fluid dynamics. However, it provides more information on the microscopic level so that some phenomena, like the thermal creep flow, can not be modeled by the classical systems of fluid dynamics, such as the Euler equations. The author gives an example to show this phenomenon rigorously in a special setting. This paper is completely based on the author's recent work, jointly with Wang and Yang.  相似文献
