一种阶梯结构的色散平坦光子晶体光纤的研究   总被引:4,自引:1,他引:3  
以多极法理论为基础,提出了一种阶梯结构的光子晶体光纤.通过改变其内四层的三个结构参量(内两层孔孔径,外两层孔孔径和孔间距),实现色散绝对值在1.1~1.8μm的波段内变化仅为0.05~2 ps/(km·nm)的平坦甚至超平坦的特性.在此情况下对其有效模场面积进行数值模拟,充分展示了达到色散平坦和超平坦时,相对于传统光子晶体光纤,此种结构的光纤对芯区内光场的局域能力有很大程度的增强,其有效模场面积可仅为传统光子晶体光纤的1/30.最后,经过大量的数值计算和理论分析,归纳出若要此种阶梯结构的光纤在1.1~1.8μm的波段内达到色散平坦甚至超平坦特性的设计依据.  相似文献

提出了一种新型的方形分布渐变空气孔微结构光纤。借助时域有限差分法计算了孔间距取 2.0μm和2.5μm,最小孔直径分别取0.4μm、0.6μm、0.7μm、0.8μm和1.0μm,从第一层到第五层直径线性递增量分别为0.1μm/层和0.2μm/层的五层渐变空气孔微结构光纤的基模色散曲线图,结果表明渐变空气孔微结构光纤在控制色散的能力上明显优于空气孔不变的微结构光纤,这种光纤的色散曲线在1400~2000 nm波长范围内保持平坦且具有更低的色散量;当渐变空气孔微结构光纤第三层孔的直径取与孔直径不变微结构光纤的孔直径相同,且第一层到第五层孔直径按每层0.2μm的斜率增长时,其色散曲线最低最平坦,色散值保持在30 ps/(km·nm)左右。  相似文献

介绍了一种双芯复合格点负色散光子晶体光纤,其包层是由连续电介质纯硅背景上挖出的两种大小不同的空气孔构成,芯区是由掺锗的高折射率的材料构成。为了实现负色散,还移去了包层中的一圈空气孔。采用频域有限差分法对其负色散特性进行分析表明,通过调整空气孔间距和两种空气孔的尺寸,可以得到不同程度的宽带负色散。当内芯半径取0.95μm,孔间距取2.15μm,大空气孔直径取1.9μm,小空气孔直径取1.1μm时,可在1.55μm处实现宽带负色散,其半峰全宽超过了200 nm。这种光纤的包层中空气孔呈六边形分布,空气孔的尺寸均大于1μm,降低了制作的难度。这种光纤可以用于波分复用光纤通信系统中的宽带色散补偿。  相似文献

提出了一种复合六边形空气孔格点光子晶体光纤,其包层是由两种不同大小的空气孔组合而构成的。利用带有良匹配层(APML)吸收边界的全矢量频域有限差分法(FDFD)对其色散特性进行了数值分析。结果表明,通过调节包层中两种不同尺寸的空气孔的大小以及孔间距这三个参量,可以得到不同水平的平坦色散曲线,甚至超低超平坦的色散曲线。在孔间距Λ取2.1μm,小尺寸空气孔直径取0.5μm,大尺寸空气孔直径取0.8μm的条件下,在1.48~1.78μm的波长范围内得到了0±0.545 ps/(km.nm)的色散。  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the dispersion and polarization properties of photonic crystal fiber with one ring or more rings of elliptical air-holes using plane-wave expansion (PWE) method. By introducing three rings of elliptical air-holes, PCF with ultra-low and ultra-flattened dispersion is designed and a total dispersion curve between ±0.5 ps/nm/km from 1315 to 1855 nm wavelength range is demonstrated. Furthermore, the polarization property of these elliptical air-hole-containing PCFs is analyzed and the variation of the birefringence with the area and ellipticity of the elliptical air-holes are discussed.  相似文献

设计了一种准光子晶体光纤,其包层由呈准周期分布的空气孔构成,其中靠近芯区的空气孔的直径是渐变的.采用带有良匹配层(APML)吸收边界的全矢量频域有限差分(FDFD)方法对其色散特性进行了数值分析,计算了孔间距取1.5μm~2.2μm,最小空气孔直径分别取0.4μm~0.6μm,从第一层到第三层直径线性递增量分别为0.1μm和0.2μm的条件下,这种光纤基模的色散曲线.结果表明:通过调节包层中三种不同尺寸的空气孔的大小以及孔间距这四个参数,可以得到不同平坦水平的色散曲线,甚至于超低超平坦的色散曲线.例如,当孔间距取1.7μm,空气孔直径分别取0.5μm、0.7μm、0.9μm,在1.4μm~1.7~m波段内,这种光纤的色散值可以控制在6.0±3.0 ps/km.nm范围内.  相似文献

An octagonal photonic crystal fiber (O-PCF) structure with eight air-holes on the first ring is proposed based on a unit isosceles triangle. The propagation characteristics and cut-off behaviors of the O-PCF and the standard hexagonal PCF (H-PCF) are numerically investigated by combining the vector boundary method and the effective area method. The phase boundaries for cut-off, single-mode, and multi-mode operations between the O-PCF and H-PCF are calculated and compared. It is found that under the same pitch Λ and air filling fraction (AFF) of the air-holes the O-PCF has significantly wider wavelength range operating in single-mode region, more circular-like field distribution, and less confinement loss than the H-PCF.  相似文献

This paper proposes and demonstrates a novel type of silica index guiding holey fibers (IGHFs) that has two cladding layers at the defective innermost structures. The proposed IGHFs exhibit remarkable chromatic dispersion properties such as nearly-zero and flattened dispersion over a wide spectral range and single mode guidance along with very low confinement loss. The numerical results indicate that 5 air-hole rings of nearly zero ultra-flattened dispersion single mode IGHFs can be designed with desire flattened dispersion of over a 340 nm bandwidth including the entire band of interest with low confinement loss of less than 10−6 dB/m.  相似文献

In this study, a number of propagation characteristics of hexagonal and octagonal photonic crystal fiber (H-PCF and O-PCF) structures, where both core and cladding are microstructured have been investigated by employing the full vectorial finite element method (FEM). The confinement loss, the effective refractive index and the relative sensitivity coefficient behaviors of the O-PCF and the standard H-PCF are numerically investigated and compared. It is found that under the same design parameters O-PCF structure has significantly lower losses and higher relative sensitivity coefficient compared with H-PCF structure.  相似文献

采用矢量光束传输法对空气孔包层呈正六边形分布的微结构光纤的色散和非线性特性进行了数值模拟。通过分别调节内三层空气孔的直径和包层空气孔节距,设计了一种低非线性宽带色散补偿微结构光纤。该光纤在波长1.55 μm处具有-3 235.8 ps/nm/km的大负色散,可在以1.55 μm为中心的100 nm宽带波长范围对相当于自身长度190倍的普通单模传输光纤进行宽带色散补偿(色散补偿率偏移在0.5%以内),同时该光纤可在此宽带波长范围内保持非线性系数低于5 W-1·km-1。  相似文献

设计了一种双芯高双折射光子晶体光纤,采用多极法(multipole method)和光纤的模式耦合理论研究了光纤的双折射、耦合长度以及色散特性.数值研究发现,对于空气孔节距 Λ=1.2 μm,空气孔直径d=1.0 μm的光纤,在1.55 μm处双折射度为1.24×10-2;对应x偏振模的耦合长度为21.6 μm,对应y偏振模的耦合长度为24.3 μm. 这种具有高保偏度和极短耦合长度的双芯光子晶体光纤对于微型光子器件的研制具有重 关键词: 光子晶体光纤 双芯 双折射 耦合长度  相似文献

An ultrabroadband mid-infrared (MIR) region supercontinuum (SC) is demonstrated numerically through dispersion-engineered traditional chalcogenide (ChG) photonic crystal fiber (PCF). By varying structural parameters pitch (hole to hole spacing) and air-hole diameter to pitch ratio, a number of 10-mm-long hexagonal PCFs made employing GeAsSe ChG glass as a core and air-holes of hexagonal lattice running through their lengths as a cladding are optimized to predict an efficient mid-infrared region SC spectral emission by pumping them using a tunable pump source between 2.9 and 3.3 µm. Simulations are carried out using an ultrashort pump pulse of 100-fs duration with a low pulse peak powers of between 3 and 4 kW into the optimized designs. It is found through numerical analysis that efficient SC spectral broadening with flattened output can be obtained by increasing the PCF pitch rather than increasing the PCF cladding containing air-hole diameter although a larger nonlinear coefficient could be obtained through increasing air-hole diameter of an optimized design. Simulation results show that the SC spectra can be broadened up to 12.2 µm for a certain design with a peak power of 3 kW. Using a peak power of 4 kW, it is possible to obtain SC spectral broadening beyond 14 µm with an optimized design spanning the wavelength range from 1.8 to 14 µm which covers the electromagnetic spectrum required for MIR molecular fingerprint region applications such as sensing and biological imaging.  相似文献

In this paper, triangular lattice index-guiding photonic crystal fibres (PCFs) are synthesized to compensate the chromatic dispersion of a single mode fibre (SMF-28) for an 80 km optical link operating at 1.55 μm, by using a directed tabu search algorithm. Hole-to-hole distance, circular air-hole diameter, solid-core diameter, ring number and PCF length parameters are optimized for this purpose. Three synthesized PCFs with different physical parameters are compared in terms of their objective functions values, residual dispersions, compensation ratios and confinement losses.  相似文献

In this paper, we report that it is possible to control chromatic dispersion of index guiding PCFs in wide wavelength range by arranging the major axis of the first inner ring perpendicular to that of the second inner ring. Using this unique arrangement, a newly PCF with ultra-low and ultra-flattened dispersion is designed through a finite difference method with anisotropic perfectly matched layers absorbing boundary condition. As an example, we have design a unique PCF with flattened dispersion of ±0.23 ps/(nm·km) from 1.5 to 1.8 μm wavelength and confinement losses of less than 10−13 dB/m in the wavelength range shorter than 1.8 μm.  相似文献

In this article, a novel dual-concentric-core photonic crystal fiber (DC-PCF) for dispersion compensation is presented. The proposed DC-PCF has relatively high negative dispersion over a wide wavelength range, which covers E, S, C, L and U telecommunication wavelength bands. The validity of the proposed design is carried out by employing a 2-D finite difference frequency domain method (FDFD) with perfectly matched layers (PML). By using the numerical method, the dispersion profile of the DC-PCF is optimized in terms of three air-hole diameters to achieve desirable negative dispersion. The influence of the location of ring-core, the number of air-hole rings on dispersion and loss characteristics are also studied.  相似文献

In this paper the effect of photonic crystal fiber’s structure parameters on Rayleigh scattering was investigated. Rayleigh scattering loss (RSL) has been numerically estimated by average Rayleigh scattering coefficient based on the empirical relations for \(V\) and \(W\) parameters of double-clad photonic crystal fibers (DC PCFs). The dependence of RSL on the two structural parameters—the air hole diameter and the hole pitch was demonstrated. We have shown that RSL depends on the index profiles because of the different optical power confinement factors in every layer of DC PCF. Using these results, the RSL can be optimized by adjusting the fiber parameters—air-hole diameter as well as the air-hole pitch.  相似文献

A simple type of photonic crystal fiber (PCF) for supercontinuum generation is proposed for the first time. The proposed PCF is composed of a solid silica core and a cladding with square lattice uniform elliptical air holes, which offers not only a large nonlinear coefficient but also a high birefringence and low leakage losses. The PCF with nonlinear coefficient as large as 46 W 1 · km-1 at the wavelength of 1.55 μm and a total dispersion as low as ±2.5 ps · nm-1 · km-1 over an ultra-broad waveband range of the S-C-L band (wavelength from 1.46 μm to 1.625 μm) is optimized by adjusting its structure parameter, such as the lattice constant Λ , the air-filling fraction f , and the air-hole ellipticity η. The novel PCF with ultra-flattened dispersion, highly nonlinear coefficient, and nearly zero negative dispersion slope will offer a possibility of efficient super-continuum generation in telecommunication windows using a few ps pulses.  相似文献

利用矢量有效折射率方法对光子晶体光纤(PCF)的色散补偿特性进行了数值模拟,研究发现通过调节光子晶体光纤包层的空气穴节距或空气穴大小可以灵活地设计光子晶体光纤的色散系数D、色散斜率Dslope以及κ值,可以设计在波长1.55μm附近具有较大绝对值的正常色散和负色散斜率的色散补偿光子晶体光纤,使光通信中的普通单模光纤(G.652)或非零色散位移光纤(G.655)在1.55μm低损耗窗口得到较好的色散补偿.数值模拟和分析表明色散补偿光子晶体光纤的研制具有很大的发展潜力. 关键词: 光子晶体光纤 色散 色散斜率 色散补偿  相似文献
