Doped polyaniline (PANI) was synthesized by an “in situ doping polymerization” method in the presence of different sulfonic acids, such as methanesulfonic acid (MSA), p‐methylbenzene sulfonic acid (MBSA), β‐naphthalenesulfonic acid (β‐NSA), α‐naphthalenesulfonic acid (α‐NSA), 1,5‐naphthalenedisulfonic acid (1,5‐NSA), and 2,4‐dinitronaphol‐7‐sulfonate acid (NONSA). Morphology, solubility in m‐cresol, and electrical properties of the doped PANI were measured with the variation of the molecular structure of the selected sulfonic acids. Granular morphology was obtained when the sulfonic acids without a naphthalene ring, such as MSA and MBSA, were used. Regular tubular morphology was obtained only when β‐NSA was used. The tubular morphology can be modified by changing the substitutes, the number, and location of sulfo‐group(SOH) on the naphthalene ring. These results indicated that naphthalene ring in the selected sulfonic acids plays an important role in forming the tubular morphology of the doped PANI by the “in situ doping polymerization” method. All resulting PANI salts were soluble in m‐cresol, with the solubility depending on the molecular structure of the selected dopants. Room‐temperature conductivity for the doped PANI ranges from 10−1 to 100S/cm. Temperature dependence of conductivity shows a semiconductor behavior, and it can be expressed by one dimenson Variable Range Hopping (VRH) model.

Polyanilines (PANIs) doped with Zn2+ and Cu2+ were synthesized by H2O2 oxidative polymerization of aniline in the presence of corresponding metal chloride in solution. The products were characterized by elemental analysis, UV‐Vis‐NIR, FTIR and Raman spectroscopies. Scanning electron micrograph was employed to examine the morphology of PANIs fabricated in the presence of different transition metals. Experimental results showed that transition metal ions had been successfully incorporated into the polymer, and there was a strong interaction between the transition metal ions and the PANI chains. The electrical conductivity of PANI doped with Zn2+ and Cu2+ is 0.37 and 0.21 S/cm, respectively, which is higher than that of HCl doping PANI corresponding to 0.052 S/cm. The cyclic voltammetric study has indicated that incorporation of metal ions in PANI backbone results in increasing of specific capacitance compared to that of HCl doping PANI. Heterojunctions between polyaniline (PANI) and n-type porous silicon (PS), Al/PS-PANI/Au cell, were fabricated, and the rectifying parameters of this heterojunction diode were measured as a function of thepreparation conditions of PANI and PS, the electronic structure of PANI as well as cell structure. Therectifying parameters of Al/PS-PANI/Au cell were determined to be γ= 1 .8×10~1~ 1 .0×10~5 for the rectifyingratio at 3V, n = 3 ~12 for the ideal factor,j_0 = 8.0×10~(-5)~5.6×10~(-2) mA/cm~2 for the reversed saturated currentdensity, and φ_b = 0.67~ 0.83 V for the barrier height, respectively. The best rectifying heterojunction diodemade between PANI and n-type PS with higher rectifying factor (γ= 1 .0×10~5 at 3V ), output current (>1500mA/cm~2 at 3V) and lower ideal factor (n = 3.3) was obtained by preventing the oxidation of PS beforeevaporating Al electrode.  相似文献

A composite of polyaniline (PANI) with both conducting and ferromagnetic functions was synthesized by a chemical method proposed by the authors. For the electrical properties, its room-temperature conductivity was measured to be about 10−1 S/cm when doped with 1.0M HCl, and it is independent of the preparation conditions, such as reaction temperature and concentration of FeSO4 solution. Temperature dependence of the conductivity of the composites at temperature between 77 and 450 K is controlled by thermal activation and dedoping processes, which result in the decrease of conductivity with increase of temperature as T > 320 K. For their magnetic properties, unusual ferromagnetic properties with high saturated magnetization (M2) and lower coercive force (Hc = 0) were observed. An effect of the preparation conditions on the ferromagnetic properties of composites was observed. The higher the reaction temperature and the concentration of FeSO4 solution, the higher the saturated magnetization was observed. No hysteresis feature (i.e. Hc = 0) for any PANI composites synthesized in this paper was observed, and this is independent of the preparation conditions. This may be attributed to the nanometer size of the magnetic particles existing in composites. Thus, it suggests that the doping of PANI leads to electrical properties of composites, whereas the nanocrystalline magnetic particles (Fe3O4) are responsible for the observed ferromagnetic properties of PANI composites. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Conducting microtubules of Polyaniline (PANI) were synthesized for the first time by the “in situ doping polymerization” method in the presence of β‐naphthal‐ enesulfonic acid (NSA) as dopant. Different doping methods, such as “immerse doping” and “grind doping,” and different synthetic conditions, such as molar ratio of aniline (An) to NSA (An/NSA), concentration of NSA in the polymerization media, reaction temperature, and time were investigated to understand the formation of microtubules. It was found that the PANI–NSA microtubules can be formed only by the “in situ doping polymerization” method, and the above synthetic conditions strongly affect the formation of the PANI–NSA microtubules, especially the molar ratio of An to NSA. An optimal condition was found under which tubules with 1–3 μm in diameter and 10–50 μm in length were obtained. The morphology of PANI–NSA tubules was proved by SEM and TEM, and their backbone structure was characterized by FTIR, UV‐VIS, XPS, and X‐ray diffraction. Results of these measurements showed that the molecular structures of the resulted PANI–NSA microtubules were identical to that of PANI–HCl synthesized by conventional method. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Polyaniline (PANI) dispersions consisting of 270 to 380 nm sized particles were prepared by oxidation with ammonium peroxydisulfate (APS) in n‐decylphosphonic acid (DPA) micellar solutions. The green dispersions do not undergo macroscopic precipitation for more than a year. The synthesized DPA doped PANI exhibited enhanced electrical conductivity (3.6 S cm?1 ) compared with DPA‐PANI (2.3 x 10 ? 4 S cm ? 1) prepared by postsynthesis treatment of the PANI‐base with DPA. It was shown that through protonation with decylphosphonic acid, polyaniline showed a significantly enhanced solubility in common organic solvents like chloroform, xylene, etc. The synthesized PANI was characterized by intrinsic viscosity, solubility, FT‐IR , conductivity, SEM , and TGA measurements. The wide‐angle X ‐ray diffraction study revealed the appearance of a peak located at low angles (d = 29.4 – 35.3 Å) suggesting the formation of layered structure of PANI backbone separated by long alkyl side chains of DPA. The anticorrosive performance of the bilayer coatings composed of a bottom layer of DPA doped polyaniline covered with a polyvinyl butyral topcoat, have been demonstrated for steel exposed to neutral saline solutions. It was found that the inhibitive properties of DPA dopant provides further protection to the base metal through smart release when damage is produced on the surface of the coating. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Aniline was polymerized in the presence of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) powders in hydrochloric acid to in situ prepare poly(vinyl chloride)/polyaniline (PVC/PANI) composite particles. UV‐vis spectra and FT‐IR spectra indicate PANI in PVC/PANI composite particles possessed a higher oxidation state with decreased aniline content in reactants. Both conductivity and impact strength of the dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (DBSA) doped PANI composites (PVC/PANI‐DBSA), which were compression molded from the in situ prepared PVC/PANI particles, increase with the pressing temperature and decrease with the increase of DBSA doped PANI (PANI‐DBSA) loading. An excellent electric conductivity of 5.06 × 10?2 S/cm and impact strength of 0.518 KJ/m2 could be achieved for the in situ synthesized and subsequently compression molded composite. Polyaniline (PANI) films in the form of emeraldine salt (ES) doped with aqueous organic sulfonic acids such as camphorsulfonic acid (CSA), p-toluenesulfonic acid (p-TSA) and dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (DBSA) were studied. The ES films were obtained by treating the PANI in the form of emeraldine base (EB) with the aqueous solution of the acids. The dopant weight fraction (w), which is related to the mass gain during the redoping of EB, was in situ determined using a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). The behaviour of PANI doping with different acids indicates that the uptake shows a slow diffusion process. The kinetics of the doping reaction is dominated by Fickian diffusion kinetics. The diffusion coefficients (D) of the dopant ions into the PANI chains were determined and were found to vary within the range of (1.6-18) × 10−15 cm2 s−1. Moreover, the effect of water on these doped ES films was studied. The starting point is the fact that PANI-coated the electrode of QCM shows significant frequency shifts on exposure to water. The changes in the frequency as a function of treatment time in water were quantitatively measured. The response of the device suggests that the mass decrease under water exposure is due to dopant ions release. The latter films were dedoped by exposure to ammonia solution to obtain the EB film form. A further decrease in the mass of the films was observed. The percentage of the mass loss due to water exposure is found to be less than w determined during the dedoping process.  相似文献

The electronic structure of doped‐oligoaniline with various dopants is investigated by means of DFT method. After doping by hydrochloric acid (HCl) and camphorsulfonic acid (HCSA), the alternation of bond‐lengths is decreased and the co‐planarity of adjacent aromatic rings is increased. The π‐conjugating effect is increased in the electronic nature of Ph‐N system because the electrons can be delocalized along the backbone of oligoaniline where the hydrogen bonds as a bridge transfer the electrons. The electronic structure of polaron and bipolaron conformation and their relative stability is discussed, indicating that the preferable conformation is dependant on various dopants. The calculation results reveal that there is a relatively stronger interaction between the organic dopant of HCSA and N atoms of PANI, and more charge transfer between PANI and HCSA is a reason for the fact that the conductivity of HCSA‐doped PANI is higher than that of HCl‐doped PANI. The doping mechanism is proposed based on the calculation results. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Quantum Chem, 2008  相似文献

A phosphorized polyaniline (PANI) doped with phytic acid (PhA) was synthesized by the chemical oxide method with PhA as a dopant and applied to improve the anticorrosion properties of magnesium-lithium (Mg-Li) alloys after blending with eco-friendly silane sol. The chemical structures and morphologies of PANI samples were evaluated by FTIR spectroscopy, UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). All characterizations indicate that the as-synthesized phosphorized PANI (PANI-PhA) exists in doped emeraldine salt state with net-like structures crosslinked by phosphate carboxyl groups. The conductivity and thermostability of PANI-PhA were better than those of PANI doped with phosphoric acid (PANI-H3PO4) and undoped PANI. The anticorrosion properties of PANI/silane sol composite coatings for Mg-Li alloy were tested by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization measurements. The results prove that the anticorrosion ability of PANI-PhA is the best among the three PANI samples, as shown by a low corrosion current (1.28 × 10?7 A·cm?2) and high impedance (5.62 × 106 Ω·cm2). The possible anticorrosion mechanism was proposed based on procedure analysis.  相似文献

A novel method for preparing organosoluble and conducting polyaniline (PANI) is presented. It is demonstrated that Cu(II) is an excellent catalyst for the polymerization of aniline by air oxygen in aqueous emulsions. Reactions carried out at 0 °C or at room temperature yield PANIs of reasonably high molecular weights (number‐average molecular weight = 23,000–114,000 Da) in an emeraldine base form that are soluble in many organic solvents, such as tetrahydrofuran, dimethylformamide, N‐methylpyrrolidinone, chloroform, and acetone. Spectroscopic investigations (ultraviolet, Fourier transform infrared, and 1H NMR) have shown that PANI obtained by this procedure has the same structure as those prepared by the conventional persulfate oxidation method. The resulting PANIs show reasonable electronic conductivities (0.067–0.320 S cm?1) upon doping with p‐toluenesulfonic acid or dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The focus of this study was to synthesize the inherently conductive polymer polyaniline using an optimized process to prepare polyaniline/silicon dioxide (PANI/SiO2) composites by in situ polymerization and ex situ solution mixing. PANI and PANI/SiO2 composite films were prepared by drop‐by‐drop and spin coating methods. The electrical conductivities of HCl doped PANI film and PANI/SiO2 composite films were measured according to the standard four‐point‐probe technique. The composite films exhibited an increase in electrical conductivity over neat PANI. PANI and PANI/SiO2 composites were also investigated by spectroscopic methods including UV‐Vis, FT‐IR, and Photoluminescence. UV‐Vis and FT‐IR studies showed that SiO2 particles affect the quinoid units along the polymer backbone and indicate strong interactions between the SiO2 particles and the quinoidal sites of PANI (doping effect). The photoluminescence properties of PANI and PANI/SiO2 composites were studied and the PANI/SiO2 composites showed increased intensity as compared to neat PANI. The increase of conductivity of PANI/SiO2 composite may be partially due to the doping or impurity effect of SiO2 where the silicon dioxides compete with chloride ions. The morphology of particles and films were examined by a scanning electron microscope (SEM). SEM measurements indicated that the SiO2 were well dispersed and isolated in composite films. The analytical performance of H+-selective solid-contact ion-selective electrodes (SCISEs) based on solid contact polyaniline doped with chloride (PANI(Cl)) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) doped with poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT(PSS)) was characterized by a developed coulometric signal transduction method. PEDOT(PSS) solid contact is covered by PVC based H+-selective membrane. The obtained coulometric signal demonstrates that the cumulated charge can be amplified by increasing the capacitance of solid contact. SCISEs covered with spin-coated membrane behave faster amperometric response than electrodes with drop-cast membrane. In contrast to earlier works, the amperometric response and impedance spectrum demonstrates H+ transfer through SCISEs is independent from the thickness of membrane. The exceptional behavior of PANI(Cl) H+-SCISEs shows that the capacitance estimated from impedance spectrum at low frequency 10 mHz and coulometric signal of PANI(Cl) based SCISEs is influenced by the applied potentials, whereas PEDOT(PSS) solid contact is independent from the chosen applied potentials. Furthermore, preliminary investigations of coulometric signal transduction on flexible pH sensor implies its potential applications in wearable sensors for sweat ion concentration detection.   相似文献

Polyaniline (PANI) doped with p‐toluene sulfonic acid was synthesized by chemical polymerization method using (NH4)2S2O8 as an oxidizing agent. This is a single step polymerization process for the direct synthesis of the conducting emeraldine salt (ES) phase, without the need of doping, dedoping, and redoping of the polymer. Presence of a free carrier tail at higher wavelength, characteristic of extended coil conformation along with a sharp polaronic peak is observed in the UV–vis spectrum of doped PANI in m‐cresol solvent. FT‐IR studies show the characteristic peaks of ES phase along with a sharp peak at 1120 cm?1 representing vibration band of the dopant ion. Clumps of small fibers resulting in a sponge‐like structure was observed under scanning electron microscope. Thermal studies revealed a three‐step decomposition pattern. Conductivity is found to increase with an increase in the temperature showing “thermal activation behavior.” Decrease in resistance with increasing humidity is observed in a broad range of humidity. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Conductive composites consisted of epoxy resin and polyanilines (PANIs) doped with dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid ( 1 ), dodecylsulfonic acid (2), di(2‐ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinic acid (3), and HCl were synthesized by use of Ntert‐butyl‐5‐methylisoxazolium perchlorate (5) under various reaction conditions. It was found that the composites with PANI doped with acid 2 (PANI‐2) prepared by curing with 10 mol % of reagent 5 at 80 °C for 12 h showed high electroconductivity along with the low conducting percolation threshold (3 wt % of PANI‐2). Furthermore, the composite with even ?10 wt % of PANI‐2 exhibited ?10?1 S/cm of electroconductivity. The UV–vis and IR measurements indicated that the conductive emeraldine salt form of PANI‐2 in the composite was maintained after the curing reaction. The thermal stability was studied by TGA and DSC measurements, and then, the Td10 and Tg of the composite with 5 and 10 wt % of PANI‐2 were found to be similar to those with the cured epoxy resin itself. In addition, the similar investigation with an oxetane resin instead of the epoxy resin was also carried out. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 44: 718–726, 2006  相似文献

The conduction behavior at high current density at room temperature and above of polyaniline (PANI) films doped with HCl and camphor sulfonic acid (HCSA), respectively, is reported. It is found that the current density deviates strongly from the linear relation with the electric field in high current density region, and a saturation of the current density is observed. The maximum current density Jm seems to be proportional to the conductivity of the sample and hence, for PANI doped with HCl, Jm is about 200 A/cm2, whereas for HCSA doped samples, Jm can reach more than 1,200 A/cm2. The saturation of current density is interpreted as being caused by space charge accumulation at the insulating barrier regions and a dedoping effect in the conduction domains due to the detraping of the ions under high fields. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The engineered addition of hexa‐histidine sequences to biomolecules such as antibody fragments has been found to be an excellent means of purifying these materials. This tagging methodology has also been extended to its use as a tool for immobilization and orientation of antibodies on transducer surfaces. Polyvinyl sulfonate‐doped polyanilne (PANI/PVS) can be used as a mediator in amperometric biosensors. This short communication looks at the effect of nickel chelate materials and nickel chelation on this conducting polymer and evaluates it as a potential surface for the immobilization of his‐tagged biomolecules. N‐nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) was doped into the electropolymerized PANI/PVS at a screen‐printed carbon paste electrode. The resulting NTA‐PANI/PVS film was shown to have comparable electrochemical properties of polymer without the chelating agent. When Ni2+ was applied to the electrode, the incorporated NTA was found to efficiently chelate the metal ions at the electrode surface.  相似文献

Microtubules of polyaniline (PANI) doped with HCl, HBF4, and β-naphthalene sulfonic acid (NSA) were synthesized by an improved in situ doping polymerization method. Ultraviolet-visible spectra, scanning electron microscopy, ESR, and X-ray diffraction characterized the molecular structure of the resulting PANI microtubules. These microtubules had a diameter of 1 ∼ 10 μm and a conductivity at room temperature of 0.2 ∼ 3.5 S/cm, depending on the molecular structure and concentration of the dopant. The degree of crystallinity of the PANI microtubules was enhanced by increasing the molecular size of the dopant; that is, the order PANI-NSA > PANI-HBF4 > PANI-HCl was observed in the crystallinity of the microtubules. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
