Nuclear magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments and changes in mean square charge radii for the neutron-rich155–159Eu isotopes have been measured using resonance ionization spectroscopy at the IRIS facility. It has been found that the isotopes withN>92, unlike the isotopes with 89≦N≦92, have an ordinary character of odd-even staggering in nuclear charge radii. This means that the octupole deformation attributed previously to the europium nuclei around154Eu does not display itself in the charge radii of heavier europium isotopes.  相似文献

Isotope shifts of the neutron-deficient thallium isotopes were measured on-line at the UNISOR mass separator. Spectroscopy was carried out using collinear fast beam laser spectroscopy in neutral thallium. The changes of the mean square charge radii were derived from the measurements. The changes in charge radii of the I=7 isotopes, including the newly measured188Tl, are compared to the results in mercury and lead.  相似文献

The mean square charge radii and the quadrupole moments of Ca nuclei are discussed in the light of theoretical predictions. The very peculiar dependence of the charge radii on the mass number between double magic40Ca and double magic48Ca can be ascribed to changes of the nuclear deformation, whereas the volume of the nuclear charge remains constant for all the Ca isotopes. Furthermore, correlations between nuclear charge radii and binding energies are discussed.  相似文献

Nuclear distributions affect many aspects of atomic spectra. As an example, recent experimental results for the hyperfine anomaly in Fr isotopes are considered. These depend on nuclear charge and magnetization distributions. The variations in charge radii for these isotopes were studied earlier by measuring optical isotope shifts. The hyperfine anomalies for the odd-odd isotopes involve the neutron distributions, of interest for studies of parity nonconserving effects along a chain of isotopes. We consider the charge root mean square (RMS) radii of the chromium isotopes 50,52,54Cr which exhibit an anomalous isotopic shift; the observed radius of 52Cr. We show that long range ground state (RPA) correlations effects can account for the discrepancies between mean-field predictions and the experimental results for the differences in the charge RMS radii of the chromium isotopes 50,52,54Cr.  相似文献

Isotope shifts and hyperfine structures of the bismuth isotope chain have been studied on the 306.7 nm line in off-line measurements using gas cell laser spectroscopy and atomic beam spectroscopy. The changes in nuclear mean square charge radii and the nuclear magnetic and spectroscopic quadrupole moments have been deduced. The neutron-rich isotopes are the first isotones of Pb to be measured immediately above the N=126 shell closure. A remarkable correspondence between the nuclear charge radii of the Bi and Pb isotope chains is demonstrated by a King Plot analysis. The relationship between nuclear shapes and the charge radii can be understood in the framework of the spherical shell model using few-nucleon configurations. We investigate the ground-state properties of even-even Sn isotopes using the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock (SHF) and Skyrme-Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov (SHFB) methods with SKM* and SLy4 force parameters. We focus on isotopes of even-even Sn because these isotopes are vital to the structural studies of unstable nuclei taking place at the electron radioactive-ion collider at RIKEN. In the present paper, we calculate the binding energies per particle, the rms nuclear charge radii, the rms nuclear proton density radii, and the rms nuclear neutron density radii, for even-even Sn isotopes, using the SHF and SHFB methods. We compare our results with experimental data and with the results of relativistic mean-field theory. Notably, we fit our calculated binding energies per particle to experimental results, using the aforementioned SHF methods with SKM* and SLy4 parameters  相似文献

The evolution of the ground-state nuclear shapes in neutron-rich Sr, Zr, and Mo isotopes, including both even-even and odd-A nuclei, is studied within a self-consistent mean-field approximation based on the D1S–Gogny interaction. Neutron separation energies and charge radii are calculated and compared with available data. A correlation between a shape transition and a discontinuity in those observables is found microscopically. While in Sr and Zr isotopes the steep behavior observed in the isotopic dependence of the charge radii is a consequence of a sharp prolate–oblate transition, the smooth behavior found in Mo isotopes has its origin in an emergent region of triaxiality.  相似文献

对丰中子晕核11Li的核电荷均方根半径的实验确定 ,特别是其与9Li的半径的差值 ,将对各种核模型进行灵敏的检验 .选择锂的合适跃迁 ,利用激光光谱技术高精度测量该跃迁的同位素移位 ,并扣除精确理论计算的质量移位贡献值 ,可以用来确定有关同位素的核电荷均方根半径 .就目前能够提供的实验设备和手段 ,对于不稳定锂的同位素8,9Li和短寿命丰中子晕核11Li而言 ,这是能够得到与核模型相独立的电荷半径值的唯一可行的方法 .这类实验正在德国重离子研究中心 (GSI)和欧洲核子中心的ISOLDE/CERN上计划实施 .描述了锂原子的激光激发共振电离途径和进行锂的同位素移位测量的实验装置,并讨论了采用这种方法测量到的6,7Li的初步结果及其精度 ,以及使用该方法研究不稳定核的灵敏性. A high-resolution isotope shift measurement of lithium isotopes in a suitable transition, combined with an accurate theoretical evaluation of the mass-shift contribution in the corresponding transition, can be used to determine the root-mean-square nuclear charge radii of these isotopes. Recent advances in atomic theory make possible the determination of nuclear charge radii for light isotopes from their isotope shift relative to other known isotopes. This method provides a unique measurement tool for the halo nuclei such as 6He and 11Li. The 2s-->3s transition of (6,7,8,9)Li was studied by high-resolution laser spectroscopy using two-photon Doppler-free excitation and resonance-ionization detection. Hyperfine structure splittings and isotope shifts were determined with precision at the 100 kHz level. Combined with recent theoretical work, the changes in the nuclear-charge radii of (8,9)Li were determined. These are now the lightest short-lived isotopes for which the charge radii have been measured. It is found that the charge radii monotonically decrease with increasing neutron number from 6Li to 9Li.  相似文献

The radial distributions of proton and neutron densities in the even–even isotopes 40?70Cа and 48?78Ni and the analogous distributions of neutron densities in the even–even isotopes 92?138Mo were calculated on the basis of the mean-fieldmodel involving a dispersive optical potential. The respective root-mean-square radii and neutron-skin thicknesses were determined for the nuclei under study. In N > 40 calcium isotopes, the calculated neutron root-mean-square radius exhibits a fast growth with increasing N, and this is consistent with the prediction of the neutron-halo structure in calcium isotopes near the neutron drip line.  相似文献

A novel method for the determination of nuclear charge radii of lithium isotopes is presented. Precise laser spectroscopic measurements of the isotope shift in the lithium 2s → 3s transition are combined with highly accurate atomic physics calculation of the mass dependent isotope shift to extract the charge-distribution-sensitive information. Mean-square charge radii and magnetic moments have been measured for the neutron deficient lead isotopes, 182–190Pb. The measurement was performed at the ISOLDE online mass separator, using the in-source resonance ionization spectroscopy technique. The wavelength of the first excitation step for the resonance ionization laser ion source (RILIS) was scanned over the resonance(s) whilst the α- and γ-ray spectra from the decay of the Pb isotopes were recorded as a function of the wavelength. The isotope shift and, in the case of odd-A isotopes, the hyperfine splitting were deduced. The rms-charge radii of the very neutron deficient Pb isotopes follow the smooth trend of the heavier isotopes. This finding indicates a spherical shape for the lead ground states at the neutron mid-shell (N = 104), where the excitation energy of the oblate 0+ state in the even isotopes reaches its minimum.  相似文献

Changes in mean square (ms) nuclear charge radii of Ar isotopes across the 1f7/2 shell are studied by fast-beam collinear laser spectroscopy using an ultra-sensitive detection method based on optical pumping and state-selective collisional ionization. The new data set on Ar, in combination with the known charge radii of K, Ca and Ti in the ν1f7/2 shell, offers an opportunity to obtain a more complete overview of nuclear radii trends around the proton shell closure Z = 20 and between the neutron shell closures N = 20 and N = 28.  相似文献
