Let Tn be the full transformation semigroup on the n-element set Xn. For an arbitrary integer r such that 2 ≤ r ≤ n-1, we completely describe the maximal subsemigroups of the semigroup K(n, r) = {α∈Tn : |im α| ≤ r}. We also formulate the cardinal number of such subsemigroups which is an answer to Problem 46 of Tetrad in 1969, concerning the number of subsemigroups of Tn.  相似文献

We study the approximation of the classes of functions by the manifold R n formed by all possible linear combinations of n ridge functions of the form r(a · x)): It is proved that, for any 1 ≤ qp ≤ ∞, the deviation of the Sobolev class W r p from the set R n of ridge functions in the space L q (B d ) satisfies the sharp order n -r/(d-1).  相似文献

For Hausdorff operator with generating function having support in the unit ball of p-adic field ℚ p we give sufficient and necessary conditions of its boundedness in BMO-type spaces: BLO(ℚ p n ), Q r α,q (ℚ p n ) and BMO r α,q (ℚ p n ). Let [n] = { 1,2,...,n} be a finite set, a family of its subsets, 2 ≤ r a fixed integer. Suppose that contains no r + 1 distinct members F, G 1,..., G r such that F ⊂ G 1,...,F ⊂ G r all hold. The maximum size is asymptotically determined up to the second term, improving the result of Tran. A line is sought in the plane which minimizes the sum of the k largest (Euclidean) weighted distances from n given points. This problem generalizes the known straight-line center and median problems and, as far as the authors are aware, has not been tackled up to now. By way of geometric duality it is shown that such a line may always be found which either passes through two of the given points or lying at equal weighted distance from three of these. This allows construction of an algorithm to find all t-centrum lines for 1 ≤ t ≤ k in O((k + logn)n 3). Finally it is shown that both, the characterization of an optimal line and the algorithm, can be extended to any smooth norm.  相似文献

For a finite p-group G and a positive integer k let I k (G) denote the intersection of all subgroups of G of order p k . This paper classifies the finite p-groups G with Ik(G) @ Cpk-1{{I}_k(G)\cong C_{p^{k-1}}} for primes p > 2. We also show that for any k, α ≥ 0 with 2(α + 1) ≤ k ≤ nα the groups G of order p n with Ik(G) @ Cpk-a{{I}_k(G)\cong C_{p^{k-\alpha}}} are exactly the groups of exponent p n-α .  相似文献

Lower estimates for the maximal weight multiplicities in irreducible representations of the algebraic groups of type C n in characteristic p ≤ 7 are found. If n ≥ 8 and p ≠ 2 , then for an irreducible representation either such a multiplicity is at least n− 4 − [n]4,where [n]4 is the residue of n modulo 4, or all the weight multiplicities are equal to 1.For p = 2, the situation is more complicated, and for every n and l there exists a class of representations with the maximal weight multiplicity equal to 2 l . For symplectic groups in characteristic p > 7 and spinor groups similar results were obtained earlier. Bibliography: 15 titles.  相似文献

In this paper, we give the eigenvalues of the manifold Sp(n)/U(n). We prove that an eigenvalue λ s (f 2, f 2, …, f n ) of the Lie group Sp(n), corresponding to the representation with label (f 1, f 2, ..., f n ), is an eigenvalue of the manifold Sp(n)/U(n), if and only if f 1, f 2, …, f n are all even.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove that and round geodesic spheres are the only n-dimensional compact embedded rotation hypersurfaces with Hm = 0 (1 ≤ mn − 1) in a unit sphere Sn+1(1). We study the structure of the semigroup OT n , which is a unique (up to an isomorphism) R-section of the semigroup T n . Optimal upper bounds are given for the norm of the semigroup (e tV ) t≥0, where V is the classical Volterra operator acting on L p [0,1], 1≤p≤∞. In particular, for every p∈[1,∞] we prove that

A Latin squares of order v with ni missing sub-Latin squares (holes) of order hi (1 〈= i 〈 k), which are disjoint and spanning (i.e. ∑k i=l1 nihi = v), is called a partitioned incomplete Latin squares and denoted by PILS. The type of PILS is defined by (h1n1 h2n2…hknk ). If any two PILS inaset of t PILS of type T are orthogonal, then we denote the set by t-HMOLS(T). It has been proved that 3-HMOLS(2n31) exist for n ≥6 with 11 possible exceptions. In this paper, we investigate the existence of 3-HMOLS(2nu1) with u ≥ 4, and prove that 3-HMOLS(2~u1) exist if n ≥ 54 and n ≥7/4u + 7.  相似文献

Let H be a complex Hilbert space of dimension greater than 2, and B(H) denote the Banach algebra of all bounded linear operators on H. For A, BB(H), define the binary relation A ≤* B by A*A = A*B and AA* = AB*. Then (B(H), “≤*”) is a partially ordered set and the relation “≤*” is called the star order on B(H). Denote by Bs(H) the set of all self-adjoint operators in B(H). In this paper, we first characterize nonlinear continuous bijective maps on B s (H) which preserve the star order in both directions. Consider a finite group G. A subgroup is called S-quasinormal whenever it permutes with all Sylow subgroups of G. Denote by B sG the largest S-quasinormal subgroup of G lying in B. A subgroup B is called S-supplemented in G whenever there is a subgroup T with G = BT and BTB sG . A subgroup L of G is called a quaternionic subgroup whenever G has a section A/B isomorphic to the order 8 quaternion group such that LA and LB = 1. An orientably-regular map is a 2-cell embedding of a connected graph or multigraph into an orientable surface, such that the group of all orientation-preserving automorphisms of the embedding has a single orbit on the set of all arcs (incident vertex-edge pairs). Such embeddings of the n-dimensional cubes Q n were classified for all odd n by Du, Kwak and Nedela in 2005, and in 2007, Jing Xu proved that for n=2m where m is odd, they are precisely the embeddings constructed by Kwon in 2004. Here, we give a classification of orientably-regular embeddings of Q n for all n. In particular, we show that for all even n (=2m), these embeddings are in one-to-one correspondence with elements σ of order 1 or 2 in the symmetric group S n such that σ fixes n, preserves the set of all pairs B i ={i,i+m} for 1≤im, and induces the same permutation on this set as the permutation B i B f(i) for some additive bijection f:ℤ m →ℤ m . We also give formulae for the numbers of embeddings that are reflexible and chiral, respectively, showing that the ratio of reflexible to chiral embeddings tends to zero for large even n.  相似文献

Let T = (T(t))t≥0 be a bounded C-regularized semigroup generated by A on a Banach space X and R(C) be dense in X. We show that if there is a dense subspace Y of X such that for every x ∈ Y, σu(A, Cx), the set of all points λ ∈ iR to which (λ - A)^-1 Cx can not be extended holomorphically, is at most countable and σr(A) N iR = Ф, then T is stable. A stability result for the case of R(C) being non-dense is also given. Our results generalize the work on the stability of strongly continuous senfigroups.  相似文献

In this work we generalize the case of scalar curvature zero the results of Simmons (Ann. Math. 88 (1968), 62–105) for minimal cones in Rn+1. If Mn−1 is a compact hypersurface of the sphere Sn(1) we represent by C(M)ε the truncated cone based on M with center at the origin. It is easy to see that M has zero scalar curvature if and only if the cone base on M also has zero scalar curvature. Hounie and Leite (J. Differential Geom. 41 (1995), 247–258) recently gave the conditions for the ellipticity of the partial differential equation of the scalar curvature. To show that, we have to assume n ⩾ 4 and the three-curvature of M to be different from zero. For such cones, we prove that, for nslant 7 there is an ε for which the truncate cone C(M)ε is not stable. We also show that for n ⩾ 8 there exist compact, orientable hypersurfaces Mn−1 of the sphere with zero scalar curvature and S3 different from zero, for which all truncated cones based on M are stable. L p approximation capability of radial basis function (RBF) neural networks is investigated. If g: R +1R 1 and ∈ L loc p (R n ) with 1 ≤ p < ∞, then the RBF neural networks with g as the activation function can approximate any given function in L p (K) with any accuracy for any compact set K in R n , if and only if g(x) is not an even polynomial.
