A mixed-spin Ising model on a decorated Bethe lattice is rigorously solved by combining the decoration–iteration transformation with the method of exact recursion relations. Exact results for critical lines, compensation temperatures, total and sublattice magnetizations are obtained from a precise mapping relationship with the corresponding spin-1/2 Ising model on a simple (undecorated) Bethe lattice. The effect of next-nearest-neighbour interaction and single-ion anisotropy on magnetic properties of the ferrimagnetic model is investigated in particular. It is shown that the total magnetization may exhibit multicompensation phenomenon and the critical temperature vs. the single-ion anisotropy dependence basically changes with the coordination number of the underlying Bethe lattice. The possibility of observing reentrant phase transitions is related to a high enough coordination number of the underlying Bethe lattice.  相似文献

The mixed spin-1 and spin- \frac52\frac{5}{2} ferromagnetic Ising model with bilinear (J) and biquadratic (K) nearest-neighbor exchange interactions and a single-ion potential or crystal-field interaction (D) is studied on the Bethe lattice by means of exact recursion equations. First, the phase diagram of the system at zero temperature is obtained in the (D/Jq, K/Jq) plane, where q denotes the coordination number of the lattice. Second, the sublattice magnetizations as functions of the temperature, the crystal-field and the biquadratic interaction strengths are thoroughly investigated. For q = 3, the resulting phase diagrams show first and second order phase transitions as well as compensation points where the net magnetization of the whole lattice should vanish in the antiferromagnetic version of the model. One interesting feature of the model concerns the presence of tricritical points. Our calculations show that at non-zero temperature, none of the sublattice can order separately. However, under an external magnetic field, some interesting phase diagrams with partially ordered phases arise.  相似文献

We study the existence of dynamic compensation temperatures in the mixed spin-1 and spin-3/2 Ising ferrimagnetic system Hamiltonian with bilinear and crystal-field interactions in the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field on a hexagonal lattice. We employ the Glauber transitions rates to construct the mean-field dynamic equations. We investigate the time dependence of an average sublattice magnetizations, the thermal behavior of the dynamic sublattice magnetizations and the total magnetization. From these studies, we find the phases in the system, and characterize the nature (continuous or discontinuous) of transitions as well as obtain the dynamic phase transition (DPT) points and the dynamic compensation temperatures. We also present dynamic phase diagrams, including the compensation temperatures, in the five different planes. A comparison is made with the results of the available mixed spin Ising systems.  相似文献

The critical behaviors of the trilayer Bethe lattice in the form of spin-(1/2,3/2,1/2) with the exterior two layers consisting of spin-1/2 and the interior one having only spin-3/2 Ising spins are studied in terms of the recursion relations with either ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic bilinear exchange interactions between the nearest-neighbor spins. The ground-state phase diagrams are calculated and it is found that the model presents six different ground state phase configurations. The thermal variations of the order-parameter and free energy are investigated, therefore, topologically different phase diagrams of the model are obtained. It is found that the model exhibits second- and first-order phase transitions, tricritical and bicritical points for the values of the coordination numbers q=3, 4 and 6 and, the reentrant behavior for q=4 and 6, respectively.  相似文献

The mixed spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising model on the Bethe lattice with both uniaxial as well as biaxial single-ion anisotropy terms is solved exactly by combining star-triangle and triangle-star mapping transformations with exact recursion relations. Magnetic properties (magnetization, phase diagrams, and compensation phenomenon) are investigated in detail. Particular attention is focused on the effect of uniaxial and biaxial single-ion anisotropies that basically influence the magnetic behavior of the spin-1 atoms.   相似文献

We present a study of the dynamic behavior of a two-sublattice spin-5/2 Ising model with bilinear and crystal-field interactions in the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field on alternate layers of a hexagonal lattice by using the Glauber-type stochastic dynamics. The lattice is formed by alternate layers of spins σ=5/2 and S=5/2. We employ the Glauber transition rates to construct the mean-field dynamic equations. First, we investigate the time variations of the average sublattice magnetizations to find the phases in the system and then the thermal behavior of the dynamic sublattice magnetizations to characterize the nature (first- or second-order) of the phase transitions and to obtain the dynamic phase transition (DPT) points. We also study the thermal behavior of the dynamic total magnetization to find the dynamic compensation temperature and to determine the type of the dynamic compensation behavior. We present the dynamic phase diagrams, including the dynamic compensation temperatures, in nine different planes. The phase diagrams contain seven different fundamental phases, thirteen different mixed phases, in which the binary and ternary combination of fundamental phases and the compensation temperature or the L-type behavior strongly depend on the interaction parameters.  相似文献

The dynamic behavior of a mixed spin-1 and spin-2 Ising system with a crystal-field interaction in the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field on a hexagonal lattice is studied by using the Glauber-type stochastic dynamics. The lattice is formed by alternate layers of spins σ=1σ=1 and S=2. The Hamiltonian model includes intersublattice, intrasublattice and crystal-field interactions. The set of mean-field dynamic equations is obtained by employing the Glauber transition rates. Firstly, we study time variations of the average sublattice magnetizations in order to find the phases in the system, and the thermal behavior of the average sublattice magnetizations in a period or the dynamic sublattice magnetizations to obtain the dynamic phase transition points as well as to characterize the nature (continuous and discontinuous) of transitions. Then, the behavior of the dynamic total magnetization as a function of the temperature is investigated to find the dynamic compensation points as well as determine the type of behavior. We also present the dynamic phase diagrams for both presence and absence of the dynamic compensation temperatures in the nine different planes. According to the values of Hamiltonian parameters, besides the paramagnetic (p), antiferromagnetic (af), ferrimagnetic (i) and non-magnetic (nm) fundamental phases, eight different mixed phases and the compensation temperature or L- and N-types behavior in the Néel classification nomenclature exist in the system.  相似文献

We calculate the dynamic phase transition (DPT) temperatures and present the dynamic phase diagrams in the kinetic mixed spin-1/2 and spin-5/2 Ising model under the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field. We employ the Glauber transition rates to construct the set of mean-field dynamic equations. The time variation of the average magnetizations and the thermal behavior of the dynamic magnetizations are investigated, extensively. The nature (continuous or discontinuous) of the transitions is characterized by studying the thermal behaviors of the dynamic magnetizations. The DPT points are obtained and the phase diagrams are presented in two different planes. Phase diagrams contain four fundamental phases and three coexistence or mixed phases, which strongly depend on interaction parameters. The phase diagrams are discussed and a comparison is made with the results of the other mixed spin Ising systems.  相似文献

The dynamic behavior of a two-sublattice spin-1 Ising model with a crystal-field interaction (D) in the presence of a time-varying magnetic field on a hexagonal lattice is studied by using the Glauber-type stochastic dynamics. The lattice is formed by alternate layers of spins σ=1 and S=1. For this spin arrangement, any spin at one lattice site has two nearest-neighbor spins on the same sublattice, and four on the other sublattice. The intersublattice interaction is antiferromagnetic. We employ the Glauber transition rates to construct the mean-field dynamical equations. Firstly, we study time variations of the average magnetizations in order to find the phases in the system, and the temperature dependence of the average magnetizations in a period, which is also called the dynamic magnetizations, to obtain the dynamic phase transition (DPT) points as well as to characterize the nature (continuous and discontinuous) of transitions. Then, the behavior of the total dynamic magnetization as a function of the temperature is investigated to find the types of the compensation behavior. Dynamic phase diagrams are calculated for both DPT points and dynamic compensation effect. Phase diagrams contain the paramagnetic (p) and antiferromagnetic (af) phases, the p+af and nm+p mixed phases, nm is the non-magnetic phase, and the compensation temperature or the L-type behavior that strongly depend on the interaction parameters. For D<2.835 and H0>3.8275, H0 is the magnetic field amplitude, the compensation effect does not appear in the system.  相似文献

The mixed spin-(1/2, 3/2) Ising model on a decorated square lattice, which takes into account lattice vibrations of the spin-3/2 decorating magnetic ions at a quantum-mechanical level under the assumption of a perfect lattice rigidity of the spin-1/2 nodal magnetic ions, is examined via an exact mapping correspondence with the effective spin-1/2 Ising model on a square lattice. Although the considered magnetic structure is in principle unfrustrated due to bipartite nature of a decorated square lattice, the model under investigation may display anomalous spin frustration driven by a magnetoelastic coupling. It turns out that the magnetoelastic coupling is a primary cause for existence of the frustrated antiferromagnetic phases, which exhibit a peculiar coexistence of antiferromagnetic long-range order of the nodal spins with a partial disorder of the decorating spins with possible reentrant critical behavior. Under certain conditions, the anomalous spin frustration caused by the magnetoelastic coupling is responsible for unprecedented absence of spontaneous long-range order in the mixed-spin Ising model composed from half-odd-integer spins only.  相似文献

The sandwiched trilayer of Bethe lattices in the form of the spins with spin-(1/2,1,1/2) Ising model is studied in terms of the recursion relations with either ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic type bilinear interactions between the nearest-neighbor (NN) spins. The ground-state (GS) phase diagrams are obtained and it was found that the model presents six different GS phase configurations. In order to obtain the phase diagrams, the thermal variations of the order-parameter, spin-spin correlation functions and free energy are analyzed and different topological phase diagrams are obtained. It was found that the system exhibits different critical behaviors such as, second- and first-order phase transitions, tricritical and bicritical points for the values of the coordination numbers q=3,4 and 6.  相似文献

We present phase diagrams for a nonequilibrium mixed spin-1/2 and spin-2 Ising ferrimagnetic system on a square lattice in the presence of a time dependent oscillating external magnetic field. We employ the Glauber transition rates to construct the mean-field dynamical equations. The time variation of the average magnetizations and the thermal behavior of the dynamic magnetizations are investigated, extensively. The nature (continuous or discontinuous) of the transitions is characterized by studying the thermal behaviors of the dynamic magnetizations. The dynamic phase transition points are obtained and the phase diagrams are presented in two different planes. Phase diagrams contain paramagnetic (p) and ferrimagnetic (i) phases, and one coexistence or mixed phase region, namely the i+p, that strongly depend on interaction parameters. The system exhibits the dynamic tricritical point and the reentrant behaviors.  相似文献

The fully frustrated spin-1/2 Heisenberg FM/AF square bilayer in a magnetic field with the ferromagnetic inter-dimer interaction and the antiferromagnetic intra-dimer interaction is explored by the use of localized many-magnon approach, which allows to connect the original purely quantum Heisenberg spin model on a square bilayer with the effective ferromagnetic Ising model on a simple square lattice. Magnetization and specific heat are investigated exactly at a field-driven phase transition from the singlet-dimer phase towards the fully saturated ferromagnetic phase, which changes from a discontinuous phase transition to a continuous one at a certain critical temperature. The mapping correspondence between the spin-1/2 Heisenberg FM/AF square bilayer and the ferromagnetic Ising square lattice suggests for this special critical point of the spin-1/2 Heisenberg FM/AF square bilayer critical exponents from the standard two-dimensional Ising universality class.  相似文献

We give an exact formulation of a mixed spin-1 and spin-3/2 Ising model on the Bethe lattice, which shows ferrimagnetism and compensation points. The model incorporates antiferromagnetic nearest-neighbor interaction which is relevant to describe ferrimagnetism. The influence of two sublattice crystal fields, DA and DB, on compensation points is studied in detail. For certain crystal-field values, the single or double compensation temperature may occur in the present system.  相似文献

Compensation behaviors, magnetic susceptibilities and the phase diagrams of the ternary system of the type ABC consisting of Ising spins σ = 1/2, S = 3/2 and m = 5/2 in the presence of a single-ion anisotropy are studied on the Bethe lattice within the framework of the exact recursion relations. Both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic exchange interactions are considered. The exact expressions for sublattice magnetizations and magnetic susceptibilities are obtained, and then thermal behaviors of the sublattice magnetizations, total magnetization, magnetic sublattice susceptibilities and total susceptibility are investigated. We find that the system only undergoes a second order phase transition for the different and same bilinear nearest-neighbor exchange interaction parameters, but displays compensation behaviors for only different bilinear interaction parameters. We also present the phase diagrams for the different and same bilinear nearest-neighbor exchange interaction parameters. A comparison is made with the other ternary system of the type ABC consisting of different spin values.  相似文献

The complete phase diagrams of the antiferromagnetic spin-2 Blume-Capel Ising system is studied on the Bethe lattice by the use of exact recursion relations. In order to specify the states of the system, i.e. the different spin configurations, the ground state phase diagram is obtained on the (H/|J|, D/|J|) plane corresponding to the reduced external magnetic and crystal fields, respectively. As a result, the thermal change of the order-parameters, the magnetisations belonging to the two sublattice system, was investigated to obtain the full phase diagrams of the system on the (H/|J|, kT/|J|) planes. The behavior of the order-parameters with respect to the external magnetic field was also studied for the given values of D/|J|. Besides the interesting thermal and external magnetic field change of the sublattice magnetisations, the system also exhibits interesting critical behaviors including first- and second-order phase transitions, therefore, triciritical points and the reentrant behavior. The calculations are carried out for the coordination number q=4, corresponding to the square lattice, only.  相似文献

An effective-field theory with correlations is developed for a mixed spin-1 and spin-3/2 Ising system with two alternative layers of a honeycomb lattice. Spin-1 atoms and spin-3/2 atoms are distributed in alternative layers of a honeycomb lattice. We consider that the nearest-neighbor spins of each layer are coupled ferromagnetically and the interaction between the vertically aligned spins and adjacent spins are coupled either ferromagnetically or antiferromagnetically depending on the sign of the bilinear exchange interactions. We investigate the temperature dependence of the total magnetization to find the compensation points and to determine the type of compensation behavior. We present the phase diagrams in different planes for h=0, and the phase diagrams contain the paramagnetic, nonmagnetic and ferrimagnetic phases. The system also presents a tricritical behavior besides multicritical point (A), isolated critical point (C) and double critical end point (B) depending on the interaction parameters.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of an anti-ferromagnetic and ferrimagnetic mixed spin-1/2 and spin-5/2 Ising model with a crystal field in a longitudinal magnetic field on the honeycomb (z=3) and square lattice (z=4) are studied by using the effective-field theory with correlations. The ground state phase diagram of the model is obtained in the longitudinal magnetic field (h) and a single-ion potential or crystal-field interaction (Δ) plane. We also investigate the thermal variations of the sublattice and total magnetizations, and present the phase diagrams in the (Δ/|J|, ) plane. The phase diagrams have one, two or even three compensation temperatures depending on the values of the crystal-field interaction. Moreover, the susceptibility, internal energy and specific heat of the system are numerically examined, and some interesting phenomena in these quantities are found due to the applied longitudinal magnetic field.  相似文献

We calculate the ground state phase diagrams of a mixed Ising model on a square lattice where spins S (± 3/2, ± 1/2) in one sublattice are in alternating sites with spins Q (± 5/2, ± 3/2, ± 1/2), located on the other sublattice. The Hamiltonian of the model includes first neighbor interactions between the S and Q spins, next-nearest-neighbor interactions between the S spins, and between the Q spins, and crystal field. The topologies of the phase diagrams depend on the values of the parameters in the Hamiltonian. The diagrams show some key features: coexistence between regions, points where two, three, four, five and six states can coexist. Besides being very useful as a way to check the low temperature limit of the finite-temperature phase diagram, often obtained by mean-field theories, the richness of the ground state diagrams for certain combinations of parameters can be used as a guide to explore interesting regions of the finite-temperature phase diagram of the model.  相似文献

I studied the ferrimagnetic Ising model with nearest neighbour interactions for a square lattice and simple cubic one, using mean field theory. The free energy of a mixed spin Ising ferrimagnetic model was calculated from a mean field approximation of the Hamiltonian. By minimizing the free energy, I obtained the equilibrium magnetizations and the compensation temperatures. Clear indications of the single-ion anisotropies on the compensation points of the mixed spin-3/2 and spin-5/2 ferrimagnetic lattices are found. Some interesting behaviors of these systems are obtained depending not only on the values of magnetic anisotropies for both sublattice sites but also on the lattice structure. The longitudinal magnetic fields dependence of the spin compensation temperature is the main focus of research. The possibility of many compensation temperatures is indicated.  相似文献
