The synthesis, magnetic characterization and X-ray crystal structures are reported for five new manganese compounds, [Mn(III)(teaH(2))(sal)]·(1/2)H(2)O (1), [Na(I)(2)Mn(II)(4)Mn(III)(4)(teaH)(6)(sal)(4)(N(3))(2)(MeOH)(4)]·6MeOH (2), [Na(I)(2)Mn(II)(4)Mn(III)(4)(teaH)(6)(sal)(4)(N(3))(2)(MeOH)(2)](n)·7MeOH (3), [Na(I)(2)Mn(II)(4)Mn(III)(4)(teaH)(6)(sal)(4)(N(3))(2)(MeOH)(2)](n)·2MeOH·Et(2)O (4) and [K(I)(2)Mn(II)(4)Mn(III)(4)(teaH)(6)(sal)(4)(N(3))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n)·5MeOH (5). Complex 1 is a mononuclear compound, formed via the reaction of Mn(NO(3))(2)·4H(2)O, triethanolamine (teaH(3)) and salicylic acid (salH(2)) in a basic methanolic solution. Compound 2 is a mixed-valent hetero-metallic cluster made up of a Mn(8)Na(2) decanuclear core and is formed via the reaction of sodium azide (NaN(3)) with 1. Compounds 3-5 are isolated as 1- or 2-D coordination polymers, each containing the decanuclear Mn(8)M(2) (M = Na(+) or K(+)) core building block as the repeating unit. Compound 3 is isolated when 1 is reacted with NaN(3) over a very short reaction time and forms a 1-D coordination polymer. Each unit displays inter-cluster bridges via the O-atoms of teaH(2-) ligands bonding to the sodium ions of an adjacent cluster. Increasing the reaction time appears to drive the formation of 4 which forms 2-D polymeric sheets and is a packing polymorph of 3. The addition of KMnO(4) and NaN(3) to 1 resulted in compound 5, which also forms a 1-D coordination polymer of the decanuclear core unit. The 1-D chains are now linked via inter-cluster potassium and salicylate bridges. Solid state DC susceptibility measurements were performed on compounds 1-5. The data for 1 are as expected for an S = 2 Mn(III) ion, with the isothermal M vs. H data being fitted by matrix diagonalization methods to give values of g and the axial (D) and rhombic (E) zero field splitting parameters of 2.02, -2.70 cm(-1) and 0.36 cm(-1) respectively. The data for 2-5, each with an identical Mn(II)(4)Mn(III)(4) metallic core, indicates large spin ground states, with likely values of S = 16 (±1) for each. Solid state AC susceptibility measurements confirm the large spin ground state values and is also suggestive of SMM behaviour for 2-5 as observed via the onset of frequency dependent out-of-phase peaks.  相似文献

The assembly reaction of a Mn(III) salen-type dimeric complex, [MnIII2(saltmen)2(H2O)2](ClO4)2 (saltmen2- = N,N'-(1,1,2,2-tetramethylethylene)bis(salycylideneiminate)), and a Ni(II) oximato complex, [Ni(II)(pao)2(phen)] (pao- = pyridine-2-aldoximate; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), in the presence of NaBPh4 yielded a heterometallic chain of [MnIII2(saltmen)2NiI)(pao)2(phen)](BPh4)2 (Mn2Ni-BPh4) having a [-Mn(III)-ON-Ni(II)-NO-Mn(III)-(OPh)2-] repeating unit surrounded by a "zeolite-like" network of BPh4- anions. Thanks to such bulky ion-walls, each chain is not only structurally separated with a nearest inter-chain metalmetal distance of 14.4 A (MnNi) but also magnetically extremely well isolated. This magnetic isolation and the ferromagnetic interactions between S = 3 anisotropic units constituting the chain play key roles that induce single-chain magnet behavior in this system.  相似文献

The employment of pyridine-2-carbaldehyde oxime (paoH) in zinc(II) benzoate chemistry, in the absence or presence of azide ions, is described. The syntheses, crystal structures and spectroscopic characterization are reported for the complexes [Zn(O(2)CPh)(2)(paoH)(2)] (1), [Zn(12)(OH)(4)(O(2)CPh)(16)(pao)(4)] (2) and [Zn(4)(OH)(2)(pao)(4)(N(3))(2)] (3). The Zn(II) centre in octahedral 1 is coordinated by two monodentate PhCO(2)(-) groups and two N,N'-chelating paoH ligands. The metallic skeleton of 2 describes a tetrahedron encapsulated in a distorted cube. The {Zn(12)(μ-OH)(4)(μ(3)-ΟR)(4)}(16+) core of the cluster can be conveniently described as consisting of a central {Zn(4)(μ(3)-ΟR)(4)}(4+) cubane subunit (RO(-) = pao(-)) linked to four {Zn(2)(μ-OH)}(3+) subunits via the OH(-) group of each of the latter, which becomes μ(3). The molecule of 3 has an inverse 12-metallacrown-4 topology. Two triply bridging hydroxido groups are accommodated into the metallacrown ring. Each pao(-) ligand adopts the η(1)?:?η(1)?:?η(1)?:?μ coordination mode, chelating one Zn(II) atom and bridging a Zn(II)(2) pair. Complexes 1 and 2 display photoluminescence with maxima at ~355 nm and ~375 nm, upon maximum excitation at 314 nm; the origin of the photoluminescence is discussed.  相似文献

Solvothermal reactions of mixed ligands H(3)BTC and macrocyclic oxamide complexes (ML, M = Cu, Ni) with M(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O (M = Co, Zn, Ni and Cd) afford six new complexes, including [M'(4)(BTC)(2)(ML)(2)(OH)(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O (M' = Co, M = Ni, for (1); M' = Zn, M = Ni, for (2); M' = Zn, M = Cu, for (3)), [Ni(3)(BTC)(2)(NiL)(2)(H(2)O)(6)]·2CH(3)OH·2H(2)O (4), [Cd(4)(BTC)(2)(HBTC)(NiL)(4)(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O (5) and [Cd(HBTC)(CuL)]·H(2)O (6) (ML, H(2)L = 2, 3-dioxo-5, 6, 14, 15-dibenzo-1,4,8,12-tetraazacyclo-pentadeca-7,13-dien; H(3)BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid). Complexes 1-3 consist of a 2D layer framework formed by the linkage of M(II)(M = Ni, Cu) and M'(4) (M' = Co, Zn) cluster via the oxamide and BTC(3-) bridges and display a (3,6)-connected network with a (4(3))(2)(4(6).6(6).8(3)) topology. The structure of 4 consists of pentanuclear [Ni(II)(5)] units and arranges in a 1D cluster chain. Complex 5 exhibits a 2D layered structure characterized by 3,4,3-connected (4.6(2))(3)(4.6(3).8(2))(4(2).6(3).8)(4(2).6) topology. Complex 6 possesses a 3D network with sra topology. The magnetic properties of complexes 1 and 4 were investigated.  相似文献

Synthetic methods are described that have resulted in the formation of seven heterometallic complexes, all of which contain partially deprotonated forms of the ligand triethanolamine (teaH(3)). These compounds are [Mn(III)(4)Co(III)(2)Co(II)(2)O(2)(teaH(2))(2)(teaH)(0.82)(dea)(3.18)(O(2)CMe)(2)(OMe)(2)](BF(4))(2)(O(2)CMe)(2)·3.18MeOH·H(2)O (1), [Mn(II)(2)Mn(III)(2)Co(III)(2)(teaH)(4)(OMe)(2)(acac)(4)](NO(3))(2)·2MeOH (2), [Mn(III)(2)Ni(II)(4)(teaH)(4)(O(2)CMe)(6)]·2MeCN (3), [Mn(III)(2)Co(II)(2)(teaH)(2)(sal)(2)(acac)(2)(MeOH)(2)]·2MeOH (4), [Mn(II)(2)Fe(III)(2)(teaH)(2)(paa)(4)](NO(3))(2)·2MeOH·CH(2)Cl(2) (5), [Mn(II)Mn(III)(2)Co(III)(2)O(teaH)(2)(dea)(Iso)(OMe)(F)(2)(Phen)(2)](BF(4))(NO(3))·3MeOH (6) and [Mn(II)(2)Mn(III)Co(III)(2)(OH)(teaH)(3)(teaH(2))(acac)(3)](NO(3))(2)·3CH(2)Cl(2) (7). All of the compounds contain manganese, combined with 3d transition metal ions such as Fe, Co and Ni. The crystal structures are described and examples of 'rods', tetranuclear 'butterfly' and 'triangular' Mn(3) cluster motifs, flanked in some cases by diamagnetic cobalt(III) centres, are presented. Detailed DC and AC magnetic susceptibility and magnetization studies, combined with spin Hamiltonian analysis, have yielded J values and identified the spin ground states. In most cases, the energies of the low-lying excited states have also been obtained. The features of note include the 'inverse butterfly' spin arrangement in 2, 4 and 5. A S = 5/2 ground state occurs, for the first time, in the Mn(III)(2)Mn(II) triangular moiety within 6, the many other reported [Mn(3)O](6+) examples having S = ? or 3/2 ground states. Compound 7 provides the first example of a Mn(II)(2)Mn(III) triangle, here within a pentanuclear Mn(3)Co(2) cluster.  相似文献

Five new 2D coordination polymers, [Co(nip)(CuL)(H(2)O)]·CH(3)OH (1), [Mn(ip)(NiL)]·0.63H(2)O (2), [Cu(ip)(CuL)] (3), [Mn(6)(CuL)(6)(btc)(4)(H(2)O)(4)]·7H(2)O (4), and [Cu(CuL)(Hbtc)(H(2)O)] (5)(ML, H(2)L = 2,3-dioxo-5,6,14,15-dibenzo-1,4,8,12-tetraazacyclo-pentadeca-7,13-diene; H(2)nip = 5-nitroisophthalic acid; H(2)ip = m-isophthalic acid; H(3)btc = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid) have been synthesized by a solvothermal method and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complexes 1-5 exhibit different 2D layered structures formed by Co(2)Cu(2) (1), Mn(2)Ni(2) (2), Cu(4) (3), Mn(3)Ni(3) (4), Cu(4) (5) units, respectively, via the oxamide and diverse carboxylic acid bridges. Compounds 1, 2, 3 and 5 are uninodal 4-connected (4, 4)-grids topology, while complex 4 possesses a 2D network with (3, 4)-connected (4(2).8)(4)(4(3).6(2).8)(3) topology. The results of magnetic determination show pronounced antiferromagnetic interactions in 1-4.  相似文献

Five new Mn(II) coordination polymers, namely [Mn(2)(tbip)(2)(bix)] (1), [Mn(3)(tbip)(3)(bix)(2)] (2), [Mn(3)(tbip)(2)(Htbip)(2)(bib)(2)]·4H(2)O (3), [Mn(4)(tbip)(4)(bbp)(2)(H(2)O)(2)] (4), and [Mn(4)(tbip)(4)(bip)]·2H(2)O (5), were prepared by hydrothermal reactions of Mn(II) acetate with H(2)tbip (5-tert-butyl isophthalic acid) in the presence of different di-imidazolyl coligands (bix =1,4-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene, bib =1,4-bis(imidazol) butane, bbp =1,3-bis(benzimidazol)propane, bip =1,3-bis(imidazol)propane). All complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, thermogravimetric analysis, single-crystal X-ray crystallography, and powder X-ray diffraction. Single crystal X-ray studies show that these coordination polymers contain homometallic clusters varying from dimeric, trimeric, and tetrameric motifs to polymeric chains depending upon the coligands used. Complex 1 has a 3D 6-connected polycatenane network with dinuclear [Mn(2)O(2)] secondary building units. Complex 2 possesses a 3D 8-connected structure with trinuclear [Mn(3)(COO)(6)] units. Complex 3 shows a 3D pcu net based on trinuclear [Mn(3)(COO)(6)] clusters as nodes. Complex 4 features a 3D 8-connected structure constructed from the distorted square-grid tetranuclear [Mn(4)(μ(2)-COO)(8)(μ(2)-H(2)O)] units. Complex 5 shows a 3D (4,5,6)-connected net containing 1D μ-O/μ-COO alternately bridged chains. Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate that complexes 1 and 3-5 show weak antiferromagnetic interactions between the adjacent Mn(II) ions, whereas 2 is a three-spin center homometallic ferromagnetic system.  相似文献

Heterometallic linear tetramers [Mn(5-R-saltmen)Ni(pao)(bpy)(2)](2)(ClO(4))(4) (5-R-saltmen(2-) = N,N'-1,1,2,2-tetramethylethylene bis(5-R-salicylideneiminate); pao(-) = pyridine-2-aldoximate; bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, R = H, 1; Cl, 2; Br, 3; MeO, 4) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. These compounds exhibit a [Ni(II)-NO-Mn(III)-(O)(2)-Mn(III)-ON-Ni(II)] skeleton where -ON- is an oximate bridge between Mn(III) and Ni(II) ions and -(O)(2)- is a bi-phenolate bridge between Mn(III) ions. These tetramers can be seen as oligomeric units of the heterometallic Mn(III)(2)-Ni(II) chain observed in a family of single-chain magnets (Clérac, R.; Miyasaka, H.; Yamashita, M.; Coulon, C. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2002, 124, 12837. Miyasaka, H.; Clérac, R.; Mizushima, K.; Sugiura, K.; Yamashita, M.; Wernsdorfer, W.; Coulon, C. Inorg. Chem. 2003, 42, 8203.). Magnetic measurements on these tetramers confirm the nature of the magnetic interactions reported for the Mn(III)(2)-Ni(II) chains: a strong antiferromagnetic Mn(III)/Ni(II) coupling via the oximate bridge (J(Ni-Mn) ranges from -23.7 to -26.1 K) and a weak ferromagnetic Mn(III)/Mn(III) coupling through the bi-phenolate bridge (J(Mn-Mn) ranges from +0.4 to +0.9 K). These magnetic interactions lead to tetramers with an S = 2 ground state.  相似文献

Reactions of lanthanide(III) perchlorate (Ln = Dy, Tb, and Gd), nickel(II) acetate, and ditopic ligand 2-(benzothiazol-2-ylhydrazonomethyl)-6-methoxyphenol (H(2)L) in a mixture of methanol and acetone in the presence of NaOH resulted in the successful assembly of novel Ln(2)Ni(2) heterometallic clusters representing a new heterometallic 3d-4f motif. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that all compounds are isostructural, with the central core composed of distorted [Ln(2)Ni(2)O(4)] cubanes of the general formula [Ln(2)Ni(2)(μ(3)-OH)(2)(OH)(OAc)(4)(HL)(2)(MeOH)(3)](ClO(4))·3MeOH [Ln = Dy (1), Tb (2), and Gd (3)]. The magnetic properties of all compounds have been investigated. Magnetic analysis on compound 3 indicates ferromagnetic Gd···Ni exchange interactions competing with antiferromagnetic Ni···Ni interactions. Compound 1 displays slow relaxation of magnetization, which is largely attributed to the presence of the anisotropic Dy(III) ions, and thus represents a new discrete [Dy(2)Ni(2)] heterometallic cubane exhibiting probable single-molecule magnetic behavior.  相似文献

The synthesis and magnetic properties of five new homo- and heterometallic nickel(II) complexes containing artificial amino acids are reported: [Ni(4)(aib)(3)(aibH)(3)(NO(3))](NO(3))(4)·3.05MeOH (1·3.05MeOH), [Ni(6)La(aib)(12)](NO(3))(3)·5.5H(2)O (2·5.5H(2)O), [Ni(6)Pr(aib)(12)](NO(3))(3)·5.5H(2)O (3·5.5H(2)O), [Ni(5)(OH)(2)(l-aba)(4)(OAc)(4)]·0.4EtOH·0.3H(2)O 6(4·0.4EtOH·0.3H(2)O), and [Ni(6)La(l-aba)(12)][La(2)(NO(3))(9)] (5; aibH = 2-aminoisobutyric acid; l-abaH = l-2-aminobutyric acid). Complexes 1 and 4 describe trigonal-pyramidal and square-based pyramidal metallic clusters, respectively, while complexes 2, 3, and 5 can be considered to be metallocryptand-encapsulated lanthanides. Complexes 4 and 5 are chiral and crystallize in the space groups I222 and P2(1)3, respectively. Direct-current magnetic susceptibility studies in the 2-300 K range for all complexes reveal the presence of dominant antiferromagnetic exchange interactions, leading to small or diamagnetic ground states.  相似文献

The tetradentate imino-carboxylate ligand [L](2)(-) chelates the equatorial sites of Ni(II) to give the complex [Ni(L)(MeOH)(2)] in which a Ni(II) center is bound in an octahedral coordination environment with MeOH ligands occupying the axial sites. Lanthanide (Ln) and Group II metal ions (M) template the aggregation of six [Ni(L)] fragments into the octahedral cage aggregates (M[Ni(L)](6))(x)(+) (1: M = Sr(II); x = 2,2: M = Ba(II); x = 2, 3: M = La(III); x = 3, 4: M = Ce(III); x = 3, 5: M = Pr(III); x = 3, and 6: M = Nd(III); x = 3). In the presence of Group I cations, however, aggregates composed of the alkali metal-oxide cations template various cage compounds. Thus, Na(+) forms the trigonal bipyramidal [Na(5)O](3+) core within a tricapped trigonal prismatic [Ni(L)](9) aggregate to give ((Na(5)O) subset [Ni(L)](9)(MeOH)(3))(BF(4))(2).OH.CH(3)OH, 7. Li(+) and Na(+) together form a mixed Li(+)/Na(+) core comprising distorted trigonal bipyramidal [Na(3)Li(2)O](3+) within an approximately anti-square prismatic [Ni(L)](8) cage in ((Na(3)Li(2)O) subset [Ni(L)](8)(CH(3)OH)(1.3)(BF(4))(0.7))(BF(4))(2.3).(CH(3)OH)(2.75).(C(4)H(10)O)(0.5), 8, while in the presence of Li(+), a tetrahedral [Li(4)O](2+) core within a hexanuclear open cage [Ni(L)](6) in ((Li(4)O) subset [Ni(L)](6)(CH(3)OH)(3))2ClO(4).1.85CH(3)OH, 9, is produced. In the presence of H(2)O, the Cs(+) cation induces the aggregation of the [Ni(L)(H(2)O)(2)] monomer to give the cluster Cs(2)[Ni(L)(H(2)O)(2)](6).2I.4CH(3)OH.5.25H(2)O, 10. Analysis by electronic spectroscopy and mass spectrometry indicates that in solution the trend in stability follows the order 1-6 > 7 > 8 approximately 9. Magnetic susceptibility data indicate that there is net antiferromagnetic exchange between magnetic centers within the cages.  相似文献

Using the tricyano precursor (Bu(4)N)[(Tp)Cr(CN)(3)] (Bu(4)N(+) = tetrabutylammonium cation; Tp = tris(pyrazolyl)hydroborate), a pentanuclear heterometallic cluster [(Tp)(2)Cr(2)(CN)(6)Cu(3)(Me(3)tacn)(3)][(Tp)Cr(CN)(3)](ClO(4))(3)·5H(2)O (1, Me(3)tacn = N,N',N'-trimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane), three tetranuclear heterometallic clusters [(Tp)(2)Cr(2)(CN)(6)Cu(2)(L(OEt))(2)]·2.5CH(3)CN (2, L(OEt) = [(Cp)Co(P(O)(OEt)(2))(3)], Cp = cyclopentadiene), [(Tp)(2)Cr(2)(CN)(6)Mn(2)(L(OEt))(2)]·4H(2)O (3), and [(Tp)(2)Cr(2)(CN)(6)Mn(2)(phen)(4)](ClO(4))(2) (4, phen = phenanthroline), and a one-dimensional (1D) chain polymer [(Tp)(2)Cr(2)(CN)(6)Mn(bpy)](n) (5, bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Complex 1 shows a trigonal bipyramidal geometry in which [(Tp)Cr(CN)(3)](-) units occupy the apical positions and are linked through cyanide to [Cu(Me(3)tacn)](2+) units situated in the equatorial plane. Complexes 2-4 show similar square structures, where Cr(III) and M(II) (M = Cu(II) or Mn(II)) ions are alternatively located on the rectangle corners. Complex 5 consists of a 4,2-ribbon-like bimetallic chain. Ferromagnetic interactions between Cr(III) and Cu(II) ions bridged by cyanides are observed in complexes 1 and 2. Antiferromagnetic interactions are presented between Cr(III) and Mn(II) ions bridged by cyanides in complexes 3-5. Complex 5 shows metamagnetic behavior with a critical field of about 22.5 kOe at 1.8 K.  相似文献

The exploration of the NiX(2)/py(2)CO/Et(3)N (X = F, Cl, Br, I; py(2)CO = di-2-pyridyl ketone; Et(3)N = triethylamine) reaction system led to the tetranuclear [Ni(4)Cl(2){py(2)C(OH)O}(2){py(2)C(OMe)O}(2)(MeOH)(2)]Cl(2)·2Et(2)O (1·2Et(2)O) and [Ni(4)Br(2){py(2)C(OH)O}(2){py(2)C(OMe)O}(2)(MeOH)(2)]Br(2)·2Et(2)O (2·2Et(2)O) and the trinuclear [Ni(3){py(2)C(OMe)O}(4)]I(2)·2.5MeOH (3·2.6MeOH), [Ni(3){py(2)C(OMe)O}(4)](NO(3))(0.65)I(1.35)·2MeOH (4·2MeOH) and [Ni(3){py(2)C(OMe)O}(4)](SiF(6))(0.8)F(0.4)·3.5MeOH (5·3.5MeOH) aggregates. The presence of the intermediate size Cl(-) and Br(-) anions resulted in planar tetranuclear complexes with a dense hexagonal packing of cations and donor atoms (tetramolybdate topology) where the X(-) anions participate in the core acting as bridging ligands. The F(-) and I(-) anions do not favour the above arrangement resulting in triangular complexes with an isosceles topology. The magnetic properties of 1-3 have been studied by variable-temperature dc, variable-temperature and variable-field ac magnetic susceptibility techniques and magnetization measurements. All complexes are high-spin with ground states S = 4 for 1 and 2 and S = 3 for 3.  相似文献

Ni(6) clusters of the general formula [{Ni(3)L(n)(OAc)(OH)}(2)(X)(OAc)(H(2)O)(2)] (n = 1, 2; X = Cl(-) or N(3)(-), (L(n))(3-) = hexadentate tritopic ligands) can be isolated by spontaneous self-assembly, from mixtures of Ni(OAc)(2), H(3)L(n), NMe(4)OH·5H(2)O and NaX in adequate molar ratios. Thus, four new hexanuclear complexes [{Ni(3)L(1)(OAc)(OH)}(2)Cl(OAc)(H(2)O)(2)]·7.5H(2)O (1·7.5H(2)O), [{Ni(3)L(2)(OAc)(OH)}(2)Cl(OAc)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O·7.5MeOH (2·2H(2)O·7.5MeOH), [{Ni(3)L(1)(OAc)(OH)}(2)(N(3))(OAc)(H(2)O)(2)]·6H(2)O (3·6H(2)O) and [{Ni(3)L(2)(OAc)(OH)}(2)(N(3))(OAc)(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O (4·4H(2)O) were obtained and fully characterised. 1·7.5H(2)O and 2·2H(2)O·7.5MeOH were isolated in the form of single crystals, the latter losing solvate on drying, to yield 2·2H(2)O. Recrystallisation of 3·6H(2)O in MeCN/MeOH also generates single crystals of 3·H(2)O·2MeOH·2MeCN. Their X-ray characterisation shows that these Ni(6) clusters can be considered to be built from two triangular trinuclear [Ni(3)L(n)(OAc)(OH)](+) subunits with different connectors. In addition, these studies demonstrate that the (L(n))(3-) ligands behave as trinucleating, adopting such a conformation that induces chirality in the isolated compounds. In this way, 3·H(2)O·2MeOH·2MeCN appears particularly interesting, since it emerges as homochiral after undergoing spontaneous resolution upon crystallisation. The magnetic characterisation of 1·7.5H(2)O to 3·6H(2)O reveals that the three compounds present an overall antiferromagnetic coupling. The intricate magnetic behaviour of these clusters, mediated by a total of 14 bridges of different kinds, was analysed and satisfactorily interpreted in light of DFT calculations.  相似文献

The synthesis, crystal structures, and magnetochemical characterization of two new Mn clusters [Mn(8)O(2)(O(2)CPh)(10)(hmp)(4)(MeOH)(2)] (1; 6Mn(II), 2Mn(III)) and [Mn(16)O(8)(OH)(2)(O(2)CPh)(12)(hmp)(10)(H(2)O)(2)](O(2)CPh)(2) (2; 6Mn(II), 10Mn(III)) are reported. They were obtained from the use of 2-(hydroxymethyl)pyridine (hmpH) under the same reaction conditions but differing in the presence or absence of added base. Thus, the reaction of hmpH with Mn(O(2)CPh)(2) in CH(2)Cl(2)/MeOH led to isolation of octanuclear complex 1, whereas the analogous reaction in the presence of NEt(3) gave hexadecanuclear complex 2. Complexes 1 and 2 possess either very rare or unprecedented core structures that are related to each other: that of 1 can be described as a linked pair of incomplete [Mn(4)O(3)] cubanes, while that of 2 consists of a linked pair of complete [Mn(4)O(4)] cubanes, on either side of which is attached a tetrahedral [Mn(4)(μ(4)-O)] unit. Solid-state direct current (dc) and alternating current (ac) magnetic susceptibility measurements on 1 and 2 establish that they possess S = 5 and 8 ground states, respectively. Complex 2 exhibits frequency-dependent out-of-phase (χ(M)") ac susceptibility signals at temperatures below 3 K suggestive of a single-molecule magnet (SMM). Magnetization versus applied dc field sweeps on single crystals of 2·10MeOH down to 0.04 K exhibited hysteresis, confirming 2 to be a new SMM. Comparison of the structure of 2 (Mn(16)) with Mn(12) or Mn(6) clusters previously obtained under the same reaction conditions but with two Me or two Ph groups, respectively, added next to the alkoxide O atom of hmp(-) indicate their influence on the nuclearity and structure of the products as being due to the overall bulk of the chelate plus the decreased ability of the O atom to bridge.  相似文献

A high-spin tridecanuclear Ni(II) cluster, [Ni(II)(13)(N(3))(18)(dpo)(4)(Hdpo)(2)(H(2)hpo)(4)(H(2)O)(MeOH)] [Ni(II)(13)(N(3))(18)(dpo)(4)(Hdpo)(2)(H(2)hpo)(4)(H(2)O)(2)] (1) (Hdpo = 1-(dimethylamino)propan-2-one oxime and H(2)hpo = 1-(hydroxyamino)propan-2-one oxime) with a purely azido-bridged core, is reported with dominant ferromagnetic coupling between Ni(II) ions. Compounds [M(2)(4-pi)(H(2)O)(4)]·1.5H(2)O [M(II) = Mn(1), Co(2), Ni(3)] and a heterometallic analogue [Co(1.14)Ni(0.86)(4-pi)(H(2)O)(4)]·1.5H(2)O (4) have been synthesized utilizing a rigid 4-phosphonoisophthalic acid (4-piH(4)). Compounds 1-4 are isostructural, confirmed by their powder XRD measurements. Single crystal structural determinations of 1 and 2 reveal that these compounds display a novel pillared layered open framework structure with zeolite gismondine (GIS) topology. Within the layer, edge-sharing {MO(6)} octahedra are found, which are connected by carboxylate and phosphonate groups along the c- and b-axis, respectively. Dominant antiferromagnetic interactions are propagated between the magnetic centers in 1, 2 and 4. While in 3, ferromagnetic exchange couplings are observed.  相似文献

The acetylacetonate complexes [Ni(2)L(1)(acac)(MeOH)] x H(2)O, 1 x H(2)O and [Ni(2)L(3)(acac)(MeOH)] x 1.5H(2)O, 2 x 1.5H(2)O (H(3)L(1) = (2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3-bis[4-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-azabut-3-enyl]-1,3-imidazolidine and H(3)L(3) = (2-(5-bromo-2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3-bis[4-(5-bromo-2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-azabut-3-enyl]-1,3-imidazolidine) were prepared and fully characterised. Their crystal structures show that they are dinuclear complexes, extended into chains by hydrogen bond interactions. These compounds were used as starting materials for the isolation of the corresponding [Ni(2)HL(x)(o-O(2)CC(6)H(4)CO(2))(H(2)O)] x n MeOH and [Ni(2)HL(x)(O(2)CCH(2)CO(2))(H(2)O)]x nH(2)O dicarboxylate complexes (x = 1, 3; n = 1-3). The crystal structures of [Ni(2)HL(1)(o-O(2)CC(6)H(4)CO(2))(H(2)O)] x MeOH, 3 x MeOH, [Ni(2)HL(3)(o-O(2)CC(6)H(4)CO(2))(H(2)O)] x 3 MeOH, 4 x 3 MeOH and [Ni(2)HL(1)(O(2)CCH(2)CO(2))(H(2)O)] x 2.5H(2)O x 0.25 MeOH x MeCN, 5 x 2.5H(2)O x 0.25 MeOH x MeCN, were solved. Complexes 3-5 show dinuclear [Ni(2)HL(x)(dicarboxylate)(H(2)O)] units, expanded through hydrogen bonds that involve carboxylate and water ligands, as well as solvate molecules. The variable temperature magnetic susceptibilities of all the complexes show an intramolecular ferromagnetic coupling between the Ni(II) ions, which is attempted to be rationalized by comparison with previous results and in the light of molecular orbital treatment. Magnetisation measurements are in accord with a S = 2 ground state in all cases.  相似文献

The non-symmetric imide ligand Hpypzca (N-(2-pyrazylcarbonyl)-2-pyridinecarboxamide) has been deliberately synthesised and used to produce nine first row transition metal complexes: [M(II)(pypzca)(2)], M = Zn, Cu, Ni, Co, Fe; [M(III)(pypzca)(2)]Y, M = Co and Y = BF(4), M = Fe and Y = ClO(4); [Cu(II)(pypzca)(H(2)O)(2)]BF(4), [Mn(II)(pypzca)(Cl)(2)]HNEt(3). These are the first deliberately prepared complexes of a non-symmetric imide ligand. X-ray crystal structures of [Cu(II)(pypzca)(2)]·H(2)O, [Co(II)(pypzca)(2)], [Co(III)(pypzca)(2)]BF(4), [Cu(II)(pypzca)(H(2)O)(2)]BF(4)·H(2)O and [Mn(II)(pypzca)Cl(2)]HNEt(3) show that each of the (pypzca)(-) ligands binds in a meridional fashion via the N(3) donors. In the first three complexes, two such ligands are bound such that the 'spare' pyrazine nitrogen atoms are positioned approximately orthogonally to one another and also to the imide oxygen atoms. In MeCN the [M(II/III)(pypzca)(2)](0/+) complexes, where M = Ni, Co or Fe, exhibit one reversible metal based M(II/III) process and two distinct, quasi-reversible ligand based reduction processes, the latter also observed for M(II) = Zn. [Mn(II)(pypzca)Cl(2)]HNEt(3) displays a quasi-reversible oxidation process in MeCN, along with several irreversible processes. Both copper(II) complexes show only irreversible processes. Variable temperature magnetic measurements show that [Fe(III)(pypzca)(2)]ClO(4) undergoes a gradual spin crossover from partially high spin at 298 K (3.00 BM) to fully low spin at 2 K (1.96 BM), and that [Co(II)(pypzca)(2)] remains high spin from 298 to 4 K. All of the complexes are weakly coloured, other than [Fe(II)(pypzca)(2)] which is dark purple and absorbs strongly in the visible region.  相似文献

Several new first-row transition-metal complexes have been synthesised by combining the polynitrile dianion HCTMCP(2-) (hexacyanotrimethylenecyclopropandiide) with neutral, chelating co-ligands; 2,2'-bipyridine, 1,10-phenanthroline and 3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazole. The products cover a remarkable range of species including mononuclear complexes, dimers, charge-separated species and coordination polymers. Complexes containing 2,2'-bipyridine take the form [Mn(2,2'-bipy)(2)(HCTMCP)](2)·2MeOH (1) or [M(2,2'-bipy)(3)](HCTMCP) (2Fe and 2Co) which are dimeric and charge-separated products, respectively. The products obtained using 1,10-phenanthroline were the discrete complex [Co(HCTMCP)(1,10-phen)(2)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O·MeCN (3) and the 1D coordination polymer [Mn(HCTMCP)(1,10-phen)(H(2)O)(MeOH)] (4). Complexes using the 3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazole co-ligand (pypzH) form similar 1D complexes to 4, namely [Mn(pypzH)(HCTMCP)(MeOH)(H(2)O)] (5) and [M(pypzH)(HCTMCP)(MeOH)(2)] (6Co and 6Fe), albeit with different hydrogen-bonding motifs between the chains. The polymeric HCTMCP complexes show weak to zero antiferromagnetic coupling between metal centres and thus no long-range ordering.  相似文献
