The first topochemical 1,6-polymerization of a triene has been observed. The required supramolecular structure for this polymerization was achieved by the pi-pi stacking of the isonicotinate functionality. The crystal environment of this polymerization reaction controlled both the molecular and supramolecular structure of the polymer and allowed its structure to be determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

Chiral supramolecular polymers formed by host-guest interactions   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
alpha-Cyclodextrin with a p-t-butoxyaminocinnamoylamino group in the 3-position (3-p-(t)()BocCiNH-alpha-CD) has been found to form a supramolecular polymer in an aqueous solution. The degree of polymerization of the supramolecular polymer is higher than 15 at 20 mM, as proved by VPO (vapor pressure osmometry) measurements and turbo ion spray TOF MS measurements. The existence of substitution/substitution interactions between adjacent monomers of the supramolecular polymer have been confirmed by the observation of positive and negative Cotton bands in circular dichroism spectra. The mechanism for the induction of the chirality was confirmed using model compounds. The substituents were found to exist as a left-handed anti configuration in supramolecular polymers. The supramolecular polymer was found to take a helical structure. The structure of the supramolecular polymer was observed by STM measurements.  相似文献

The structure and dynamics of a supramolecular polymer formed by a bisurea-type compound, 2,4-bis(2-ethylhexylureido)toluene (EHUT), in an apolar solvent, n-dodecane (C12), were examined in detail. The EHUT/C12 organo-gel system forms long, dynamic chain-like supramolecular polymers, which lead to an entangled network showing remarkable viscoelastic behavior with two major relaxation modes. The first supramolecular star polymer based on pseudorotaxane host-guest complexation was prepared from statistical complexation of a homotritopic tris(crown ether) host and monotopic paraquat-terminated polystyrene guest in solution. A supramolecular network polymer consisting of a pair of immiscible polymers, poly(butyl)methacrylate (PBMA) and polystyrene (PS), is described. A urea of guanosine (1, UG) and 2,7-diamido-1,8-naphthyridine (2, DAN), which form an exceptionally strong quadruply hydrogen-bonding complex, are displayed at 1-10 mol % along the main backbone of PBMA and PS, respectively. (1)H NMR studies show heterocomplexation between UG and DAN exclusively. This high-fidelity, high-affinity supramolecular connection of two different polymer coils at the molecular level produces a polymer blend. Blends containing different weight ratios of the polymers and mole percent of the recognition units were characterized by AFM and DSC experiments with no isolated domains observed and a single glass-transition temperature (T(g)). The T(g) is tunable by varying the weight ratio of the polymers in the blend. In addition, viscosity measurements, size-exclusion chromatography (SEC), and dynamic light-scattering (DLS) studies demonstrate the formation of a supramolecular network structure.  相似文献

综述了"超分子构筑调控的逐步偶联/聚合法",该方法将高分子化学与超分子化学相结合,利用多种类型的超分子弱键协同作用首先构筑预期的梯形超分子结构,再经聚合得到共价键梯形高分子.利用该方法合成了一系列结构规整的氧桥基和有机桥基梯形聚硅氧烷以及碳基梯形聚酯,并利用侧基间π-π叠加作用实现了对聚合物立体构型控制.扼要介绍了梯形聚合物在先进材料方面的应用,例如梯形聚硅氧烷液晶光致取向膜;由梯形聚硅氧烷合成的管状聚硅氧烷在高室温储存期微电子环氧塑封料方面的应用;以及基于梯形聚硅氧烷的拟筛板聚合物在二阶非线性光学材料方面的应用等.  相似文献

The synthesis of the monomer 1,6-bis(3,6-dihexadecyl-N-carbazolyl)-2,4-hexadiyne, its polymerization and the purification of the polymer, which is soluble in common organic solvents, are reported. Results from powder X-ray diffraction studies carried out on the red form of the polymer are discussed. The red polymer chains self-assemble into cylindrical shapes which produce hexagonal columnar mesophases with a transition from a more (Colho) to a less ordered (Colhd) structure around 85 C. The role played by the long alkyl chains in the formation of the supramolecular hexagonal mesophase is emphasized by comparing these results with those obtained from an analogous polymer with dodecyl substituents which exhibits only the Colhd structure over the whole range of temperature explored.  相似文献

Hierarchical supramolecular chiral liquid-crystalline (LC) polymer assemblies are challenging to construct in situ in a controlled manner. Now, polymerization-induced chiral self-assembly (PICSA) is reported. Hierarchical supramolecular chiral azobenzene-containing block copolymer (Azo-BCP) assemblies were constructed with π–π stacking interactions occurring in the layered structure of Azo smectic phases. The evolution of chirality from terminal alkyl chain to Azo mesogen building blocks and further induction of supramolecular chirality in LC BCP assemblies during PICSA is achieved. Morphologies such as spheres, worms, helical fibers, lamellae, and vesicles were observed. The morphological transition had a crucial effect on the chiral expression of Azo-BCP assemblies. The supramolecular chirality of Azo-BCP assemblies destroyed by 365 nm UV irradiation can be recovered by heating–cooling treatment; this dynamic reversible achiral–chiral switching can be repeated at least five times.  相似文献

Single molecule force spectroscopy (SMFS) is a new kind of technique based on atomic force microscope, which allows detecting force as low as pico-newtons directly. Herein based on our recent work, we want to demonstrate the investigation of supramolecular structures and interactions in polymer systems by SMFS, such as desorption force between polymer and substrate, identifiability of polymer micelle and its interaction with surfactant, splitting force of ion-induced helical structure in polysaccharide. The problems of the formation of the supramolecular and molecular structure of polymers are considered. Based on kinetic investigations of trioxane polymerization, the thermodynamic approach to the problem of regulating the supramolecular and molecular structure of polymers during synthesis is formulated. A method for producing polymers with the given supramolecular structure is suggested. It is noted that the application of this method allows one to regulate the structure during the synthesis of three-dimensional cross-linked polymer systems as single-component, filled, reinforced, and other composite materials.  相似文献

A new complex {[Mn2(IP)2(1,4-bdc)2]·H2O}n(1)(IP = 1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]-phenanthroline, 1,4-H2 bdc = 1,4-benzendicarboxylic acid), have been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in monoclinic, space group Cc with a = 20.326(2), b = 24.249(2), c = 7.621(1), β = 108.546(6), V = 3561.2(7)3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.672 g/cm3, μ = 0.785 mm-1, F(000) = 1824, S = 1.067, the final R = 0.0299 and wR = 0.0752. Compound 1 possesses a 2D structural motif, in which two crystallographically independent 1,4-bdc dianions adopt the alternative mode of mixed bis(bidentate) and monodentate-bidentate coordination modes to bridge neighboring Mn(II) centers. And the 2D layers are linked up by hydrogen bonding and π···π stacking interactions to form a 3D network. The title compound has good thermal stability and exhibits photoluminescent emission maximum at 518 nm.  相似文献

Self-complementary monomer 1, which combines a macrotricyclic polyether and two dibenzylammonium ions together, was synthesized, and its self-assembly into supramolecular polymer networks by host-guest interactions was studied. For the purpose of comparative study, two model molecules 2 and 3 were also prepared. It was found that model molecule 2 and dibenzylammonium ion 4 form a 1:2 complex in solution and in the solid state, which afforded a model system for the investigation of the assembly behavior of monomer 1. Consequently, the (1)H NMR spectrum of 1 in CD(3)CN showed characteristic proton signals similar to the model system, which suggested that 1 self-assembles into a supramolecular polymer network. Formation of the supramolecular polymer was further evidenced by the MALDI-TOF MS spectrum, viscometry, and dynamic light-scattering (DLS) experiments. Moreover, it was found that the decomposition and re-formation of the supramolecular polymer could be chemically controlled by the use of triethylamine and trifluoroacetic acid. Interestingly, the supramolecular polymer forms an organogel both in CD(3)CN and in 1:1 (v/v) CDCl(3)/CD(3)CN, and reversible thermo- and pH-induced gel-sol transitions were also found. The presented work will provide a new strategy for the construction of supramolecular polymers with specific structures and properties.  相似文献

The properties of the porous polymer Dowex L-285, modified by 5-hydroxy-6-methyluracil, are investigated by means of gas chromatography. It is found that the modification leads to a considerable increase in the sorption activity of the porous polymer with respect to both polar and nonpolar molecules. It is shown that each type of cavities in the supramolecular structure of 5-hydroxy-6-methyluracil contributes to the adsorption and thermodynamic properties of the modified adsorbent.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a nanoscale study of the supramolecular structure of the dehydrogenate polymer (ZL-DHP) lignin model compound. The combination of near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM or SNOM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) has been utilized to explore physicochemical properties of the lignin model compound on a scale ranging from individual macromolecules to globular supramolecular assemblies. By utilizing NSOM in transmission mode, the optical inhomogeneity in the lignin supramolecular structure has been observed for the first time. In particular, the transmission-mode NSOM images reveal a combination of hollow and layered supramolecular globular structure in the lignin model compound. Through the paired use of TappingMode and pulsed-mode AFM, we have also confirmed the existence of regions with different rheological properties on the single lignin model compound supramolecular assembly.  相似文献

Programmable assembly of biomolecules is a fast growing research area that aims to emulate nature's elegance in creating numerous hierarchical self-assembled structures, which are responsible for unimaginably difficult biological functions. Protein assembly is a particularly challenging task, owing to their structural diversity, conformational heterogeneity, and high molecular weight. This article reveals the ability of a supramolecular structure-directing unit (SSDU) to regulate the entropically favourable supramolecular assembly of a covalently conjugated protein (bovine serum albumin (BSA)) to produce well-defined protein-decorated micelles with remarkably high thermal stability, suppression of the thermal denaturation of the protein, and retention of enzymatic activity. Furthermore, a SSDU-appended thermo-responsive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) co-assembles with the SSDU–BSA conjugate because, in both cases, assembly was primarily driven by specific molecular recognition between the SSDUs. However, the resulting supramolecular protein–polymer conjugate exhibits distinctly different polymersome structure to that of the micellar particle produced by the protein-SSDU conjugate. In this case, the enzymatic activity can be significantly suppressed above the lower critical solution temperature of supramolecularly conjugated PNIPAM, possibly due to collapse of the de-solvated polymer chains on the protein surface.  相似文献

Supramolecular copolymerizations offer attractive options to introduce structural and functional diversity in supramolecular polymer materials. Yet, general principles and structure–property relationships for rational comonomer design remain lacking. Here, we report on the supramolecular (co)aggregation of a phenylpyridine and bipyridine derivative of a recently reported biphenyl tetracarboxamide-based monomer. We show that both arylpyridines are poor monomers for supramolecular homopolymerizations. However, the two arylpyridines efficiently influence supramolecular polymers of a biphenyl-based polymer. The phenylpyridine derivatives primarily sequestrate biphenyl monomers, while the bipyridine intercalates into the polymers at high temperatures. Thereby, these two poorly homopolymerizing monomers allow for a fine control over the length of the biphenyl-based supramolecular polymers. As such, our results highlight the potential to control the structure and morphology of supramolecular polymers by tailoring the electronic properties of additives.

A supramolecular material containing quadruple hydrogen bonding sites was prepared by reacting the amines of methyl isocytosine and the epoxy groups of poly (ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether). This supramolecular polymer was complexed with metal salt, that is potassium iodide, to produce polymer electrolytes, and their physical properties, specific interactions, and conductivity behavior were investigated. The ionic conductivity of polymer electrolytes continuously increased with increasing salt concentration up to 0.4 of salt weight fraction, presenting usually high solubility limit of salt in the supramolecular polymer. Wide angle X‐ray scattering data also presented that the metal salt was completely dissolved in the supramolecular polymer up to 0.4 of salt weight fraction. Upon the introduction of metal salt, the mechanical properties of the supramolecular polymer were significantly enhanced by around 10 times and the glass transition temperature of the polymer increased by about 50 °C, as revealed by complex melt viscosities and differential scanning calorimetry. These unusual behaviors of salt solubility and mechanical properties for supramolecular polymer/metal salt complexes were attributed to the strong, additional metal ion coordination to hydrogen bonding sites as well as ether oxygens of polymer matrix, as supported by FTIR spectroscopy. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
