A first effort employing a range of polar-group functionalized phosphines (L 1 –L 7 ) to design mononuclear Rh(I) compounds of [Rh(quin-8-O)(CO)(L)] (quin-8-O = 8-hydroxy quinolate) is described. The reaction of a Rh(I) precursor [Rh(μ-Cl)(CO)2]2 with 8-hydroxyquinoline in the presence of a base followed by phosphines (L 1 –L 7 ) produced only a single isomer of [Rh(quin-8-O)(CO)(L)] compounds (1–7) with pendant, i.e. non-bonded, polar-groups (includes carboxyl, hydroxyl and formyl). A relationship between Δgd31P chemical shifts and the ν(C≡O) was derived to evaluate and explain the σ-donor properties of these phosphines with respect to the electronic properties of the polar groups and the extent of π-back-bonding to the CO group. These mononuclear Rh(I)-Phosphines were investigated as catalysts in the hydroformylation of 1-hexene and cyclohexene in aqueous two-phase and single-phase solvent systems. The Rh(I) catalysts with strong σ-donor and hydrophilic phosphines provided better yields and selectivities for the hydroformylation products, which is a reverse trend compared to literature reports. When the Rh(I) compounds contained strong σ-donor phosphines, the π-acceptor properties of the pyridine ring of 8-hydroxyquinolate were found to be beneficial for the facile cleavage of the CO group during hydroformylation, and additionally, to improve the kinetic stability of catalysts.  相似文献

The [Rh(acac)(CO)(L)] (acac = acetylacetonato; L1 = 1,3-bis-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazolinylidene and L2 = 1,3-bis-(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazolinylidene) complexes were prepared by the action of the parent carbene on [Rh(acac)(CO)2] in THF. The crystal structure characterisation of [Rh(acac)(CO)(L1)] revealed a slightly distorted square planar geometry with the carbene ligand orientated almost perpendicular to the equatorial plane; an elongated trans Rh-O bond of 2.0806(18) Å reflecting the considerable trans-influence of the carbene ligand. By measuring the CO stretching frequencies in a range of [Rh(acac)(CO)(L)] complexes (L = CO, L1, L2, PPh3, PnBu3, P(O-2,4-tBu2-Ph)3) the following electron donating ability series was established: L1 ∼ L2 ∼ PnBu3 > PPh3 > P(O-2,4-tBu2-Ph)3 > CO; indicating the carbenes investigated in this study to have a similar electronic cis-influence as trialkyl phosphines. Both complexes do not display hydroformylation activity towards 1-hexene in the absence of added phosphine or phosphite ligands under the conditions investigated (P = 60; T = 85 °C). In the presence of a phosphine or phosphite ligand the resulting hydroformylation catalysis was identical to that observed for [Rh(acac)(CO)2] and the corresponding ligand and subsequent high-pressure 31P NMR studies confirmed substitution of the carbene ligand under these conditions.  相似文献

The rhodium complex trans-[Rh(CO)(Hdpf-κP)(dpf-κ2O,P)] (1), (Hdpf = 1′-(diphenylphosphino)ferrocenecarboxylic acid) was used as an efficient and recyclable catalyst for 1-hexene hydroformylation producing ca. 80% of aldehydes at 10 atm CO/H2 and 80 °C. After the reaction, unchanged complex 1 was separated from the reaction mixture and used again three times with the same catalytic activity. The effect of modifying ligands, phosphines and phosphites, on the reactivity of 1 was investigated. The active catalytic systems containing 1 or trans-[Rh(CO)(L)(dpf-κ2O,P)] (2) were formed in situ from acetylacetonato rhodium(I) precursors [Rh(CO)2(acac)] (3) or [RhL(CO)(acac)] (4) and Hdpf or Medpf (L = phosphine, Medpf = methyl ester of Hdpf).  相似文献

The reactions of dimeric complex [Rh(CO)2Cl]2 with hemilabile ether‐phosphine ligands Ph2P(CH2) nOR [n = 1, R = CH3 (a); n = 2, R = C2H5 (b)] yield cis‐[Rh(CO)2Cl(P ~ O)] (1) [P ~ O = η 1‐(P) coordinated]. Halide abstraction reactions of 1 with AgClO4 produce cis‐[Rh(CO)2(P ∩ O)]ClO4 (2) [P ∩ O = η 2‐(P,O)chelated]. Oxidative addition reactions of 1 with CH3I and I2 give rhodium(III) complexes [Rh(CO)(COCH3)ClI(P ∩ O)] (3) and [Rh(CO)ClI2(P ∩ O)] (4) respectively. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 1H, 13C and 31P NMR spectroscopy. The catalytic activity of 1 for carbonylation of methanol is higher than that of the well‐known [Rh(CO)2I2]? species. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Half‐sandwich manganese methylenephosphonium complexes [Cp(CO)2Mn(η2‐R2P?C(H)Ph)]BF4 were obtained in high yield through a straightforward reaction sequence involving a classical Fischer‐type manganese complex and a secondary phosphine as key starting materials. The addition of various nucleophiles (Nu) to these species took place regioselectively at the double‐bonded carbon center of the coordinated methylenephosphonium ligand R2P+?C(H)Ph to produce the corresponding chiral phosphine complexes [Cp(CO)2Mn(κ1‐R2P? C(H)(Ph)Nu)], from which the phosphines were ultimately recovered as free entities upon simple irradiation with visible light. The synthetic potential of this umpolung approach is illustrated herein by the preparation of novel chiral pincer‐type phosphine–NHC–phosphine ligand architectures.  相似文献

A series of related acetylacetonate–carbonyl–rhodium compounds substituted by functionalized phosphines has been prepared in good to excellent yields by the reaction of [Rh(acac)(CO)2] (acac is acetylacetonate) with the corresponding allyl‐, cyanomethyl‐ or cyanoethyl‐substituted phosphines. All compounds were fully characterized by 31P, 1H, 13C NMR and IR spectroscopy. The X‐ray structures of (acetylacetonato‐κ2O,O′)(tert‐butylphosphanedicarbonitrile‐κP)carbonylrhodium(I), [Rh(C5H7O2)(CO)(C8H13N2)] or [Rh(acac)(CO)(tBuP(CH2CN)2}] ( 2b ), (acetylacetonato‐κ2O,O′)carbonyl[3‐(diphenylphosphanyl)propanenitrile‐κP]rhodium(I), [Rh(C5H7O2)(C15H14N)(CO)] or [Rh(acac)(CO){Ph2P(CH2CH2CN)}] ( 2h ), and (acetylacetonato‐κ2O,O′)carbonyl[3‐(di‐tert‐butylphosphanyl)propanenitrile‐κP]rhodium(I), [Rh(C5H7O2)(C11H22N)(CO)] or [Rh(acac)(CO){tBu2P(CH2CH2CN)}] ( 2i ), showed a square‐planar geometry around the Rh atom with a significant trans influence over the acetylacetonate moiety, evidenced by long Rh—O bond lengths as expected for poor π‐acceptor phosphines. The Rh—P distances displayed an inverse linear dependence with the coupling constants JP‐Rh and the IR ν(C[triple‐bond]O) bands, which accounts for the Rh—P electronic bonding feature (poor π‐acceptors) of these complexes. A combined study from density functional theory (DFT) calculations and an evaluation of the intramolecular H…Rh contacts from X‐ray diffraction data allowed a comparison of the conformational preferences of these complexes in the solid state versus the isolated compounds in the gas phase. For 2b , 2h and 2i , an energy‐framework study evidenced that the crystal structures are mainly governed by dispersive energy. In fact, strong pairwise molecular dispersive interactions are responsible for the columnar arrangement observed in these complexes. A Hirshfeld surface analysis employing three‐dimensional molecular surface contours and two‐dimensional fingerprint plots indicated that the structures are stabilized by H…H, C…H, H…O, H…N and H…Rh intermolecular interactions.  相似文献

Six new [RhBr(NHC)(cod)] (NHC = N‐heterocyclic carbene; cod = 1,5‐cyclooctadiene) type rhodium complexes ( 4–6 ) have been prepared by the reaction of [Rh(μ‐OMe)(cod)]2 with a series of corresponding imidazoli(in)ium bromides ( 1–3 ) bearing mesityl (Mes) or 2,4,6‐trimethylbenzyl (CH2Mes) substituents at N1 and N3 positions. They have been fully characterized by 1 H, 13 C and heteronuclear multiple quantum correlation NMR analyses, elemental analysis and mass spectroscopy. Complexes of type [(NHC)RhBr(CO)2] (NHC = imidazol‐2‐ylidene) ( 7b–9b ) were also synthesized to compare σ‐donor/π‐acceptor strength of NHC ligands. Transfer hydrogenation (TH) reaction of acetophenone has been comparatively studied by using complexes 4–6 as catalysts. The symmetrically CH2Mes‐substituted rhodium complex bearing a saturated NHC ligand ( 5a ) showed the highest catalytic activity for TH reaction. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

DFT calculations at the BP86/TZ2P level were carried out to analyze quantitatively the metal–ligand bonding in transition‐metal complexes that contain imidazole (IMID), imidazol‐2‐ylidene (nNHC), or imidazol‐4‐ylidene (aNHC). The calculated complexes are [Cl4TM(L)] (TM=Ti, Zr, Hf), [(CO)5TM(L)] (TM=Cr, Mo, W), [(CO)4TM(L)] (TM=Fe, Ru, Os), and [ClTM(L)] (TM=Cu, Ag, Au). The relative energies of the free ligands increase in the order IMID<nNHC<aNHC. The energy levels of the carbon σ lone‐pair orbitals suggest the trend aNHC>nNHC>IMID for the donor strength, which is in agreement with the progression of the metal–ligand bond‐dissociation energy (BDE) for the three ligands for all metals of Groups 4, 6, 8, and 10. The electrostatic attraction can also be decisive in determining trends in ligand–metal bond strength. The comparison of the results of energy decomposition analysis for the Group 6 complexes [(CO)5TM(L)] (L=nNHC, aNHC, IMID) with phosphine complexes (L=PMe3 and PCl3) shows that the phosphine ligands are weaker σ donors and better π acceptors than the NHC tautomers nNHC, aNHC, and IMID.  相似文献

Coordinatively Unsaturated Diruthenium Complexes: Synthesis and X‐ray Crystal Structures of [Ru2(CO)3L(μ‐η1 : η2‐C≡CPh)(μ‐PtBu2)(μ‐Ph2PCH2PPh2)] (L = CO, PnBu3) [Ru2(CO)4(μ‐H)(μ‐PtBu2)(μ‐dppm)] ( 1 ) reacts with several phosphines (L) in refluxing toluene under substitution of one carbonyl ligand and yields the compounds [Ru2(CO)3L(μ‐H)(μ‐PtBu2)(μ‐dppm)] (L = PnBu3, 2 a ; L = PCy2H, 2 b ; L = dppm‐P, 2 c ; dppm = Ph2PCH2PPh2). The reactivity of 1 as well as the activated complexes 2 a – c towards phenylethyne was studied. Thus 1 , 2 a and 2 b , respectively, react with PhC≡CH in refluxing toluene with elimination of dihydrogen to the acetylide‐bridged complexes [Ru2(CO)4(μ‐η1 : η2‐C≡CPh)(μ‐PtBu2)(μ‐dppm)] ( 3 ) and [Ru2(CO)3L(μ‐η1 : η2‐C≡CPh)(μ‐PtBu2)(μ‐dppm)] ( 4 a and 4 b ). The molecular structures of 3 and 4 a were determined by crystal structure analyses.  相似文献

Reactions of [(η5-R)Rh(CO)2] (R = cp, ind) with water-soluble phosphines (L = 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane and tris(2-cyanoethyl)phosphine) give the new rhodium(I) complexes of the types [Rh(η5-cp)(CO)(PTA)] (1), [Rh(η5-cp)(CO)(P(CH2CH2CN)3)] (2), [Rh(η5-ind)(CO)(PTA)] (3) and [Rh(η5-ind)(CO)(P(CH2CH2CN)3)] (4) in isolated yields of 52-75%. All these compounds have been fully characterized by IR, 1H, 31P{1H} and 13C{1H} NMR, FAB-MS spectroscopies and elemental analyses. Reactivity for the substitution of phosphine is greater for [(η5-ind)Rh(CO)(L)] comparing to [(η5-cp)Rh(CO)(L)] because of a flexibility of the indenyl ligand to undergo facile η5-η3 coordinative isomerizations. The obtained complexes are active catalyst precursors for the dehydrogenation of propan-2-ol, octane and cyclooctane under photoassisted conditions without any organic hydrogen transfer acceptors, giving TOFs of 26-56 using 3 as precatalyst.  相似文献

A thermoregulated phase‐transfer (TRPT) Rh(I) complex catalyst A prepared from Rh(acac)(CO)2 and a thermoregulated ligand CH3(OCH2CH2)mPPh2 (Mw = 918) was applied to the biphasic hydroformylation of 1‐octene, and a high activity with an aldehyde yield of 97.5% was demonstrated. After three recycling steps, the aldehyde yield gradually decreased. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) revealed that after the first cycle Rh colloids were generated in situ in the aqueous phase, and in subsequent runs Ostwald ripening occurred. An independently prepared colloidal Rh(0) TRPT catalyst D also exhibited high hydroformylation activity under identical experimental conditions, and after two times of recycling an activity decrease was also observed. It is suggested that in situ from Rh(acac)(CO)2 colloidal Rh particles are generated, which demonstrate thermomorphic behaviour and a high hydroformylation activity. Subsequently, agglomeration processes result in an activity decay, as observed in the TRPT Rh(I) complex catalyst system. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Water‐borne phosphine‐functionalized core‐cross‐linked micelles ( CCM ) consisting of a hydrophobic core and a hydrophilic shell were obtained as stable latexes by reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) in water in a one‐pot, three‐step process. Initial homogeneous aqueous‐phase copolymerization of methacrylic acid (MAA) and poly(ethylene oxide) methyl ether methacrylate (PEOMA) is followed by copolymerization of styrene (S) and 4‐diphenylphosphinostyrene (DPPS), yielding P(MAA‐co‐PEOMA)‐b‐P(S‐co‐DPPS) amphiphilic block copolymer micelles ( M ) by polymerization‐induced self‐assembly (PISA), and final micellar cross‐linking with a mixture of S and diethylene glycol dimethacrylate. The CCM were characterized by dynamic light scattering and NMR spectroscopy to evaluate size, dispersity, stability, and the swelling ability of various organic substrates. Coordination of [Rh(acac)(CO)2] (acac=acetylacetonate) to the core‐confined phosphine groups was rapid and quantitative. The CCM and M latexes were then used, in combination with [Rh(acac)(CO)2], to catalyze the aqueous biphasic hydroformylation of 1‐octene, in which they showed high activity, recyclability, protection of the activated Rh center by the polymer scaffold, and low Rh leaching. The CCM latex gave slightly lower catalytic activity but significantly less Rh leaching than the M latex. A control experiment conducted in the presence of the sulfoxantphos ligand pointed to the action of the CCM as catalytic nanoreactors with substrate and product transport into and out of the polymer core, rather than as a surfactant in interfacial catalysis.  相似文献

The water‐soluble phosphine ligands, 1,3,5‐triaza‐7‐phosphatricyclo[3.3.1.13,7]decane (tpa) and 1‐alkyl‐1‐azonia‐3,5‐diaza‐7‐phosphatricyclo[3.3.1.13,7]decane iodides (Rtpa+I), with alkyl=methyl(mtpa+I), ethyl (etpa+I) and n‐propyl, (ptpa+I), and mtpa+Cl react with [Rh2Cl2(CO)4] giving the rhodium(I) complexes [RhCl(CO)(tpa)2], [RhI(CO)(Rtpa+I)2], [RhCl‐(CO)(mtpa+Cl)3] and [RhI(CO)(Rtpa+I)3]. The properties and reactivities of the complexes have been investigated using 1H and 31PNMR and IR spectroscopies. The five‐coordinate complexes in solutions show dynamic properties. The complexes are catalysts of the water‐gas shift reaction, the hydrogenation of CC and CO bonds, the hydroformylation of alkenes and the isomerization of unsaturated compounds. Dimeric chlorobridge complex [Rh(CO)2Cl]2 reacts with two equivalents of a series of unsymmetrical phosphine–phosphine monoselenide ligands, Ph2P(CH2)nP(Se)Ph2 {n = 1( a ), 2( b ), 3( c ), 4( d )}to form chelate complex [Rh(CO)Cl(P∩Se)] ( 1a ) {P∩Se = η2‐(P,Se) coordinated} and non‐chelate complexes [Rh(CO)2Cl(P~Se)] ( 1b–d ) {P~Se = η1‐(P) coordinated}. The complexes 1 undergo oxidative addition reactions with different electrophiles such as CH3I, C2H5I, C6H5CH2Cl and I2 to produce Rh(III) complexes of the type [Rh(COR)ClX(P∩Se)] {where R = ? C2H5 ( 2a ), X = I; R = ? CH2C6H5 ( 3a ), X = Cl}, [Rh(CO)ClI2(P∩Se)] ( 4a ), [Rh(CO)(COCH3)ClI(P~Se)] ( 5b–d ), [Rh(CO)(COH5)ClI‐(P~Se)] ( 6b–d ), [Rh(CO)(COCH2C6H5)Cl2(P~Se)] ( 7b–d ) and [Rh(CO)ClI2(P~Se)] ( 8b–d ). The kinetic study of the oxidative addition (OA) reactions of the complexes 1 with CH3I and C2H5I reveals a single stage kinetics. The rate of OA of the complexes varies with the length of the ligand backbone and follows the order 1a > 1b > 1c > 1d . The CH3I reacts with the different complexes at a rate 10–100 times faster than the C2H5I. The catalytic activity of complexes 1b–d for carbonylation of methanol is evaluated and a higher turnover number (TON) is obtained compared with that of the well‐known commercial species [Rh(CO)2I2]?. N‐Heterocyclic carbene‐phosphinidene adducts of the type (IDipp)PR [R = Ph ( 5 ), SiMe3 ( 6 ); IDipp = 1,3‐bis(2,6‐diisopropylphenyl)imidazolin‐2‐ylidene] were used as ligands for the preparation of rhodium(I) and iridium(I) complexes. Treatment of (IDipp)PPh ( 5 ) with the dimeric complexes [M(μ‐Cl)(COD)]2 (M = Rh, Ir; COD = 1,5‐cyclcooctadiene) afforded the corresponding metal(I) complexes [M(COD)Cl{(IDipp)PPh}] [M = Rh ( 7 ) or Ir ( 8 )] in moderate to good yields. The reaction of (IDipp)PSiMe3 ( 6 ) with [Ir(μ‐Cl)(COD)]2 did not yield trimethylsilyl chloride elimination product, but furnished the 1:1 complex, [Ir(COD)Cl{(IDipp)PSiMe3}] ( 9 ). Additionally, the rhodium‐COD complex 7 was converted into the corresponding rhodium‐carbonyl complex [Rh(CO)2Cl{(IDipp)PPh}] ( 10 ) by reaction with an excess of carbon monoxide gas. All complexes were fully characterized by NMR spectroscopy, microanalyses, and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction studies.  相似文献

We make the case for benzo[c]quinolin‐6‐ylidene ( 1 ) as a strongly electron‐donating carbene ligand. The facile synthesis of 6‐trifluoromethanesulfonylbenzo[c]quinolizinium trifluoromethanesulfonate ( 2 ) gives straightforward access to a useful precursor for oxidative addition to low‐valent metals, to yield the desired carbene complexes. This concept has been achieved in the case of [Mn(benzo[c]quinolin‐6‐ylidene)(CO)5]+ ( 15 ) and [Pd(benzo[c]quinolin‐6‐ylidene)(PPh3)2(L)]2+ L=THF ( 21 ), OTf ( 22 ) or pyridine ( 23 ). Attempts to coordinate to nickel result in coupling products from two carbene precursor fragments. The CO IR‐stretching‐frequency data for the manganese compound suggests benzo[c]quinolin‐6‐ylidene is at least as strong a donor as any heteroatom‐stabilised carbene ligand reported.  相似文献

An aryldimethylalane‐appended analogue of 1,1′‐bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene, FcPPAl, was prepared, and reaction with [Pt(nb)3] (nb=norbornene) afforded [Pt(η2‐nb)(FcPPAl)] ( 1 ). Heating a solution of 1 to 80 °C resulted in crystallization of [{Pt(FcPPAl)}2] ( 2 ), whereas treatment of 1 with C2H4, C2Ph2, H2, or CO provided [PtL(FcPPAl)] [L=C2H4 ( 3 ), C2Ph2 ( 4 )], [PtH2(FcPPAl)] ( 5 ), and [Pt(CO)(FcPPAl)] ( 6 ). In all complexes, the FcPPAl ligand is coordinated through both phosphines and the alane. Whereas 2 adopts a T‐shaped geometry at platinum, 3 – 5 are square‐pyramidal, and 6 is distorted square‐planar. The hydride and carbonyl complexes feature unusual multicenter bonding involving platinum, aluminum, and a hydride or carbonyl ligand.  相似文献

A high‐yielding synthetic route for the preparation of group 9 metallaboratrane complexes [Cp*MBH(L)2], 1 and 2 ( 1 , M=Rh, 2 , M=Ir; L=C7H4NS2) has been developed using [{Cp*MCl2}2] as precursor. This method also permitted the synthesis of an Rh–N,S‐heterocyclic carbene complex, [(Cp*Rh)(L2)(1‐benzothiazol‐2‐ylidene)] ( 3 ; L=C7H4NS2) in good yield. The reaction of compound 3 with neutral borane reagents led to the isolation of a novel borataallyl complex [Cp*Rh(L)2B{CH2C(CO2Me)}] ( 4 ; L=C7H4NS2). Compound 4 features a rare η3‐interaction between rhodium and the B‐C‐C unit of a vinylborane moiety. Furthermore, with the objective of generating metallaboratranes of other early and late transition metals through a transmetallation approach, reactions of rhoda‐ and irida‐boratrane complexes with metal carbonyl compounds were carried out. Although the objective of isolating such complexes was not achieved, several interesting mixed‐metal complexes [{Cp*Rh}{Re(CO)3}(C7H4NS2)3] ( 5 ), [Cp*Rh{Fe2(CO)6}(μ‐CO)S] ( 6 ), and [Cp*RhBH(L)2W(CO)5] ( 7 ; L=C7H4NS2) have been isolated. All of the new compounds have been characterized in solution by mass spectrometry, IR spectroscopy, and 1H, 11B, and 13C NMR spectroscopies, and the structural types of 4 – 7 have been unequivocally established by crystallographic analysis.  相似文献

Rhodium-catalyzed hydroformylation of 1-octene in the presence of different phosphine and phosphine oxide ligands has been investigated. The molecular structure of new phosphine ligand, fluorenylidine methyl phenyl diphenylphosphine, was determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. Parameters such as different ligands, molar ratio of ligand to rhodium complex, ratio of olefin to rhodium complex, pressure of CO : H2 mixture, and time of the reaction were studied. The linear aldehyde was the main product when the phosphine ligands were used as auxiliary ligands while the selectivity was changed to the branched products when the related phosphine oxide ligands were used. Under optimized reaction conditions, in the presence of [Rh(acac)(CO)(Ph3P)]-di(1-naphthyl)phenyl phosphine oxide, conversion of 1-octene reached 97% with 87% selectivity of branched aldehyde.  相似文献
