Interpolation of operators of weak type (ϕ<Subscript>0</Subscript>, ψ<Subscript>0</Subscript>, ϕ<Subscript>1</Subscript>, ψ<Subscript>1</Subscript>) in Lorentz spaces

We prove theorems on interpolation of quasilinear operators of weak type (ϕ₀, ψ₀, ϕ₀, ψ₁) in Lorentz spaces. Novikov superalgebras with <Emphasis Type="Italic">A</Emphasis><Subscript>0</Subscript> = <Emphasis Type="Italic">A</Emphasis><Subscript>1</Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">A</Emphasis><Subscript>1</Subscript>

Novikov superalgebras are related to quadratic conformal superalgebras which correspond to the Hamiltonian pairs and play a fundamental role in completely integrable systems. In this note we show that the Novikov superalgebras with A ₀ = A ₁ A ₁ and dim A ₁ = 2 are of type N and give a class of Novikov superalgebras of type S with A ₀ = A ₁ A ₁.     

Homology of GL<Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis></Subscript>: injectivity conjecture for GL<Subscript>4</Subscript>

The homology of GL _n (R) and SL _n (R) is studied, where R is a commutative ‘ring with many units’. Our main theorem states that the natural map H ₄(GL₃(R), k) → H ₄(GL₄(R), k) is injective, where k is a field with char(k) ≠ 2, 3. For an algebraically closed field F, we prove a better result, namely, is injective. We will prove a similar result replacing GL by SL. This is used to investigate the indecomposable part of the K-group K ₄(R).     

Coxeter group actions on <Subscript>4</Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">F</Emphasis><Subscript>3</Subscript>(1) hypergeometric series

In this paper we investigate a certain linear combination K([(x)\vec])=K(a;b,c,d;e,f,g)K(\vec{x})=K(a;b,c,d;e,f,g) of two Saalschutzian hypergeometric series of type ₄ F ₃(1). We first show that K([(x)\vec])K(\vec{x}) is invariant under the action of a certain matrix group G _K , isomorphic to the symmetric group S ₆, acting on the affine hyperplane V={(a,b,c,d,e,f,g)∈ℂ⁷:e+f+g−a−b−c−d=1}. We further develop an algebra of three-term relations for K(a;b,c,d;e,f,g). We show that, for any three elements μ ₁,μ ₂,μ ₃ of a certain matrix group M _K , isomorphic to the Coxeter group W(D ₆) (of order 23040) and containing the above group G _K , there is a relation among K(m₁[(x)\vec])K(\mu_{1}\vec{x}), K(m₂[(x)\vec])K(\mu_{2}\vec{x}), and K(m₃[(x)\vec])K(\mu_{3}\vec{x}), provided that no two of the μ _j ’s are in the same right coset of G _K in M _K . The coefficients in these three-term relations are seen to be rational combinations of gamma and sine functions in a,b,c,d,e,f,g.     

Some designs and codes invariant under the groups <Emphasis Type="Italic">S</Emphasis><Subscript>9</Subscript> and <Emphasis Type="Italic">A</Emphasis><Subscript>8</Subscript>

We examine some designs and binary codes constructed from the primitive permutation representations of the groups PSL ₂(8) and PSL ₂(9). For PSL ₂(8) of degree 36, we construct a design and its code with the automorphism groups PSL ₂(8) and S ₉, respectively. For PSL ₂(8) of degree 36 and PSL ₂(9) of degree 15, we construct some designs and its codes invariant under the groups S ₉ and A ₈, respectively. The weight distribution and the dual of these codes are determined. By considering the action of automorphism groups on some of these codes, we obtain the structure of the stabilizer for every codeword and construct some designs such that S ₉ or A ₈ act primitively on them.      

A new multivariable <Subscript><Emphasis Type="BoldItalic">6</Emphasis></Subscript><Emphasis Type="BoldItalic">ψ</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="BoldItalic">6</Emphasis></Subscript> summation formula

By multidimensional matrix inversion, combined with an A _r extension of Jackson’s ₈ φ ₇ summation formula by Milne, a new multivariable ₈ φ ₇ summation is derived. By a polynomial argument this ₈ φ ₇ summation is transformed to another multivariable ₈ φ ₇ summation which, by taking a suitable limit, is reduced to a new multivariable extension of the nonterminating ₆ φ ₅ summation. The latter is then extended, by analytic continuation, to a new multivariable extension of Bailey’s very-well-poised ₆ ψ ₆ summation formula. On generalized <Emphasis Type="Italic">R</Emphasis><Subscript>0</Subscript> and <Emphasis Type="Italic">R</Emphasis><Subscript>1</Subscript> spaces

Characterizations of some properties of generalized R ₀ and R ₁ topological spaces by using closure operator defined on a generalized topological space will be given. It is also shown that many results done in this area in some previous papers can be considered as special cases of our results.     

On the Theory of <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis></Subscript>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">q</Emphasis></Subscript>)-Banach Lattices

Given 1≤ p,q < ∞, let BL_pL_q be the class of all Banach lattices X such that X is isometrically lattice isomorphic to a band in some L_p(L_q)-Banach lattice. We show that the range of a positive contractive projection on any BL_pL_q-Banach lattice is itself in BL_pL_q. It is a consequence of this theorem and previous results that BL_pL_q is first-order axiomatizable in the language of Banach lattices. By studying the pavings of arbitrary BL_pL_q-Banach lattices by finite dimensional sublattices that are themselves in this class, we give an explicit set of axioms for BL_pL_q. We also consider the class of all sublattices of L_p(L_q)-Banach lattices; for this class (when p/q is not an integer) we give a set of axioms that are similar to Krivine’s well-known axioms for the subspaces of L_p-Banach spaces (when p/2 is not an integer). We also extend this result to the limiting case q = ∞.     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">D</Emphasis><Subscript>∞</Subscript>-differential <Emphasis Type="Italic">E</Emphasis><Subscript>∞</Subscript>-algebras and Steenrod operations in spectral sequences

This paper is devoted to the introduction of a D _∞-differential analog of the notion of an E _∞-(co)algebra and to the construction of generalized Steenrod operations in terms of multiplicative spectral sequences. Three realizations of the quantum affine algebra <Emphasis Type="Italic">U</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">q</Emphasis></Subscript>(<Emphasis Type="Italic">A</Emphasis><Subscript>2</Subscript><Superscript>(2)</Superscript>

We establish explicit isomorphisms between three realizations of the quantum twisted affine algebra U _q (A ₂ ⁽²⁾: the Drinfeld current realization, the Chevalley realization, and the so-called RLL realization proposed by Reshetikhin, Takhtajan, and Faddeev.     

Liftable <Emphasis Type="Italic">D</Emphasis><Subscript>4</Subscript>-covers

Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic p and let G \hookrightarrow Aut_k(k[[ t ]] ){G \hookrightarrow {\rm Aut}_k(k\left[\kern-0.15em\left[ t \right]\kern-0.15em\right] )} be a faithful action on a local power series ring over k. Let R be a discrete valuation ring of characteristic 0 with residue field k. One asks, whether it is possible to find a faithful action G \hookrightarrow Aut_R(R[[ t ]] ){G \hookrightarrow {\rm Aut}_R(R\left[\kern-0.15em\left[ t \right]\kern-0.15em\right] )} which reduces to the given action, i.e., a lift to characteristic 0. We show that liftable actions exists in the case that G  =  D ₄ and p  =  2. In fact we introduce a family, the supersimple D ₄-actions, which can always be lifted to characteristic 0.     

Characterization of <Emphasis Type="Italic">M</Emphasis><Subscript>11</Subscript> and <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Subscript>3</Subscript>(3) by their commuting graphs

For the groups M ₁₁ and L ₃(3), we show that their commuting graphs are unique.     

Exact order of relative widths of classes <Emphasis Type="Italic">W</Emphasis><Stack><Subscript>1</Subscript><Superscript>r</Superscript></Stack> in the space <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Subscript>1</Subscript>

Lifting elementary embeddings <Emphasis Type="Italic">j</Emphasis>: <Emphasis Type="Italic">V</Emphasis><Subscript>λ</Subscript> → <Emphasis Type="Italic">V</Emphasis><Subscript>λ</Subscript>

We describe a fairly general procedure for preserving I₃ embeddings j: V _λ → V _λ via λ-stage reverse Easton iterated forcings. We use this method to prove that, assuming the consistency of an I₃ embedding, V = HOD is consistent with the theory ZFC + WA where WA is an axiom schema in the language {∈, j} asserting a strong but not inconsistent form of “there is an elementary embedding V → V”. This improves upon an earlier result in which consistency was established assuming an I₁ embedding.      

Approximation in the <Emphasis Type="BoldItalic">M</Emphasis><Subscript>2</Subscript>/<Emphasis Type="BoldItalic">G</Emphasis><Subscript>2</Subscript>/1 Queue with Preemptive Priority

The main purpose of this paper is to use the strong stability method to approximate the characteristics of the M ₂/G ₂/1 queue with preemptive priority by those of the classical M/G/1 queue. The latter is simpler and more exploitable in practice. After perturbing the arrival intensity of the priority requests, we derive the stability conditions and next obtain the stability inequalities with an exact computation of constants. From those theoretical results, we elaborate an algorithm allowing us to verify the approximation conditions and to provide the made numerical error. In order to have an idea about the efficiency of this approach, we consider a concrete example whose results are compared with those obtained by simulation.     

Asymptotically cylindrical 7-manifolds of holonomy <Emphasis Type="Italic">G</Emphasis><Subscript>2</Subscript> with applications to compact irreducible <Emphasis Type="Italic">G</Emphasis><Subscript>2</Subscript>-manifolds

We construct examples of exponentially asymptotically cylindrical (EAC) Riemannian 7-manifolds with holonomy group equal to G ₂. To our knowledge, these are the first such examples. We also obtain EAC coassociative calibrated submanifolds. Finally, we apply our results to show that one of the compact G ₂-manifolds constructed by Joyce by desingularisation of a flat orbifold T ⁷/Γ can be deformed to give one of the compact G ₂-manifolds obtainable as a generalized connected sum of two EAC SU(3)-manifolds via the method of Kovalev (J Reine Angew Math 565:125–160, 2003).     

A New Inequality for Weakly （K1, K2）-Quasiregular Mappings

We obtain a new inequality for weakly （K1,K2）-quasiregular mappings by using the McShane extension method. This inequality can be used to derive the self-improving regularity of （K1, K2）-Quasiregular Mappings.
