Summary. We study the following growth model on a regular d-ary tree. Points at distance n adjacent to the existing subtree are added with probabilities proportional to α −n , where α < 1 is a positive real parameter. The heights of these clusters are shown to increase linearly with their total size; this complements known results that show the height increases only logarithmically when α≧ 1. Results are obtained using stochastic monotonicity and regeneration results which may be of independent interest. Our motivation comes from two other ways in which the model may be viewed: as a problem in first-passage percolation, and as a version of diffusion-limited aggregation (DLA), adjusted so that “fingering” occurs. Summary. We study the 2D Ising model in a rectangular box Λ L of linear size O(L). We determine the exact asymptotic behaviour of the large deviations of the magnetization ∑ t∈ΛL σ(t) when L→∞ for values of the parameters of the model corresponding to the phase coexistence region, where the order parameter m * is strictly positive. We study in particular boundary effects due to an arbitrary real-valued boundary magnetic field. Using the self-duality of the model a large part of the analysis consists in deriving properties of the covariance function <σ(0)σ(t)>, as |t|→∞, at dual values of the parameters of the model. To do this analysis we establish new results about the high-temperature representation of the model. These results are valid for dimensions D≥2 and up to the critical temperature. They give a complete non-perturbative exposition of the high-temperature representation. We then study the Gibbs measure conditioned by {|∑ t∈ΛL σ(t) −m L ||≤|Λ L |L c }, with 0<c<1/4 and −m *<m<m *. We construct the continuum limit of the model and describe the limit by the solutions of a variational problem of isoperimetric type. Summary. This paper is devoted to the generalization of central limit theorems for empirical processes to several types of ℓ(Ψ)-valued continuous-time stochastic processes tX t n =(X t n |ψ∈Ψ), where Ψ is a non-empty set. We deal with three kinds of situations as follows. Each coordinate process tX t n is: (i) a general semimartingale; (ii) a stochastic integral of a predictable function with respect to an integer-valued random measure; (iii) a continuous local martingale. Some applications to statistical inference problems are also presented. We prove the functional asymptotic normality of generalized Nelson-Aalen's estimator in the multiplicative intensity model for marked point processes. Its asymptotic efficiency in the sense of convolution theorem is also shown. The asymptotic behavior of log-likelihood ratio random fields of certain continuous semimartingales is derived. Summary. If {S n ,n≧0} is an integer-valued random walk such that S n /a n converges in distribution to a stable law of index α∈ (0,1) as n→∞, then Gnedenko’s local limit theorem provides a useful estimate for P{S n =r} for values of r such that r/a n is bounded. The main point of this paper is to show that, under certain circumstances, there is another estimate which is valid when r/a n → +∞, in other words to establish a large deviation local limit theorem. We also give an asymptotic bound for P{S n =r} which is valid under weaker assumptions. This last result is then used in establishing some local versions of generalized renewal theorems. We consider the flow of a stochastic differential equation on d-dimensional Euclidean space. We show that if the Lie algebra generated by its diffusion vector fields is finite dimensional and solvable, then the flow is conjugate to the flow of a non-autonomous random differential equation, i.e. one can be transformed into the other via a random diffeomorphism of d-dimensional Euclidean space. Viewing a stochastic differential equation in this form which appears closer to the setting of ergodic theory, can be an advantage when dealing with asymptotic properties of the system. To illustrate this, we give sufficient criteria for the existence of global random attractors in terms of the random differential equation, which are applied in the case of the Duffing-van der Pol oscillator with two independent sources of noise. Summary Let {X n}n≧1 be a sequence of independent, identically distributed random variables. If the distribution function (d.f.) ofM n=max (X 1,…,X n), suitably normalized with attraction coefficients {αn}n≧1n>0) and {b n}n≧1, converges to a non-degenerate d.f.G(x), asn→∞, it is of interest to study the rate of convergence to that limit law and if the convergence is slow, to find other d.f.'s which better approximate the d.f. of(M n−bn)/an thanG(x), for moderaten. We thus consider differences of the formF n(anx+bn)−G(x), whereG(x) is a type I d.f. of largest values, i.e.,G(x)≡Λ(x)=exp (-exp(−x)), and show that for a broad class of d.f.'sF in the domain of attraction of Λ, there is a penultimate form of approximation which is a type II [Ф α(x)=exp (−x−α), x>0] or a type III [Ψ α(x)= exp (−(−x)α), x<0] d.f. of largest values, much closer toF n(anx+bn) than the ultimate itself.  相似文献

We consider finite-range, nonzero mean, one-dimensional exclusion processes on ℤ. We show that, if the initial configuration has ``density' α, then the process converges in distribution to the product Bernoulli measure with mean density α. From this we deduce the strong form of local equilibrium in the hydrodynamic limit for non-product initial measures.  相似文献

Let X1, X2, . . . be i.i.d. random variables, and set Sn=X1+ . . . +Xn. Several authors proved convergence of series of the type f(ɛ)=∑ncnP(|Sn|>ɛan),ɛ>α, under necessary and sufficient conditions. We show that under the same conditions, in fact i.e. the finiteness of ∑ncnP(|Sn|>ɛan),ɛ>α, is equivalent to the convergence of the double sum ∑kncnP(|Sn|>kan). Two exceptional series required deriving necessary and sufficient conditions for E[supn|Sn|(logn)η/n]<∞,0≤η≤1.  相似文献

For a sequence of real random variables C α-summability is shown under conditions on the variances of weighted sums, comprehending and sharpening strong laws of large numbers (SLLN) of Rademacher-Menchoff and Cramér-Leadbetter, respectively. Further an analogue of Kolmogorov’s criterion for the SLNN is established for E α-summability under moment and multiplicativity conditions of 4th order, which allows one to weaken Chow’s independence assumption for identically distributed square integrable random variables. The simple tool is a composition of Cesàro-type and of Euler summability methods, respectively. Received: 12 June 2006, Revised: 14 May 2007  相似文献

Summary. This is a continuation of our previous work [6] on the investigation of intermittency for the parabolic equation (∂/∂t)u=Hu on ℝ+×ℤ d associated with the Anderson Hamiltonian H=κΔ+ξ(·) for i.i.d. random potentials ξ(·). For the Cauchy problem with nonnegative homogeneous initial condition we study the second order asymptotics of the statistical moments <u(t,0) p > and the almost sure growth of u(t,0) as t→∞. We point out the crucial role of double exponential tails of ξ(0) for the formation of high intermittent peaks of the solution u(t,·) with asymptotically finite size. The challenging motivation is to achieve a better understanding of the geometric structure of such high exceedances which in one or another sense provide the essential contribution to the solution. We construct a family of diffusions P α = {P x} on the d-dimensional Sierpinski carpet F^. The parameter α ranges over d H < α < ∞, where d H = log(3 d − 1)/log 3 is the Hausdorff dimension of the d-dimensional Sierpinski carpet F^. These diffusions P α are reversible with invariant measures μ = μ[α]. Here, μ are Radon measures whose topological supports are equal to F^ and satisfy self-similarity in the sense that μ(3A) = 3α·μ(A) for all A∈ℬ(F^). In addition, the diffusion is self-similar and invariant under local weak translations (cell translations) of the Sierpinski carpet. The transition density p = p(t, x, y) is locally uniformly positive and satisfies a global Gaussian upper bound. In spite of these well-behaved properties, the diffusions are different from Barlow-Bass' Brownian motions on the Sierpinski carpet. Any solution of the functional equation
where B is a Brownian motion, behaves like a reflected Brownian motion, except when it attains a new maximum: we call it an α-perturbed reflected Brownian motion. Similarly any solution of
behaves like a Brownian motion except when it attains a new maximum or minimum: we call it an α,β-doubly perturbed Brownian motion. We complete some recent investigations by showing that for all permissible values of the parameters α, α and β respectively, these equations have pathwise unique solutions, and these are adapted to the filtration of B. We study the geometry of representations of numbers by continued fractions whose elements belong to the set A 2 = {α1, α2} (A 2-continued fraction representation). It is shown that, for α1α2 ≤ 1/2 , every point of a certain segment admits an A 2-continued fraction representation. Moreover, for α1α2 = 1/2, this representation is unique with the exception of a countable set of points. For the last case, we find the basic metric relation and describe the metric properties of a set of numbers whose A 2-continued fraction representation does not contain a given combination of two elements. The properties of a random variable for which the elements of its A 2-continued fraction representation form a homogeneous Markov chain are also investigated.  相似文献

We consider symmetric simple exclusion processes with L=&ρmacr;N d particles in a periodic d-dimensional lattice of width N. We perform the diffusive hydrodynamic scaling of space and time. The initial condition is arbitrary and is typically far away form equilibrium. It specifies in the scaling limit a density profile on the d-dimensional torus. We are interested in the large deviations of the empirical process, N d [∑ L 1δ xi (·)] as random variables taking values in the space of measures on D[0.1]. We prove a large deviation principle, with a rate function that is more or less universal, involving explicity besides the initial profile, only such canonical objects as bulk and self diffusion coefficients. Summary Consider a one-dimensional walk (S k ) k having steps of bounded size, and weight the probability of the path with some factor 1–(0,1) for every single self-intersection up to timen. We prove thatS n /S S converges towards some deterministic number called the effective drift of the self-repellent walk. Furthermore, this drift is shown to tend to the basic drift as tends to 0 and, as tends to 1, to the self-avoiding walk's drift which is introduced in [10]. The main tool of the present paper is a representation of the sequence of the local times as a functional of a certain Markov process.Partially supported by Swiss National Sciences Foundation Grant 20-36305.92  相似文献

Let X i , iN, be i.i.d. B-valued random variables, where B is a real separable Banach space. Let Φ be a mapping BR. Under a central limit theorem assumption, an asymptotic evaluation of Z n = E (exp (n Φ (∑ i =1 n X i /n))), up to a factor (1 + o(1)), has been gotten in Bolthausen [1]. In this paper, we show that the same asymptotic evaluation can be gotten without the central limit theorem assumption. Received: 19 September 1997 / Revised version:22 April 1999  相似文献

It is proved that the Laplace transform establishes a bijection between a class of resolvents (Vα)α>0 and a class of semi-groups Φ of kernels, acting on an abstract ordered convex cone. The compactness (in some weak topology) of the closed convex envelopes of the trajectories: Φ(t, x), t > 0, resp. of (nVn)kx, n, k ∈ ȑ, plays a central role in these results.  相似文献

We say that n independent trajectories ξ1(t),…,ξ n (t) of a stochastic process ξ(t)on a metric space are asymptotically separated if, for some ɛ > 0, the distance between ξ i (t i ) and ξ j (t j ) is at least ɛ, for some indices i, j and for all large enough t 1,…,t n , with probability 1. We prove sufficient conitions for asymptotic separationin terms of the Green function and the transition function, for a wide class of Markov processes. In particular,if ξ is the diffusion on a Riemannian manifold generated by the Laplace operator Δ, and the heat kernel p(t, x, y) satisfies the inequality p(t, x, x) ≤ Ct −ν/2 then n trajectories of ξ are asymptotically separated provided . Moreover, if for some α∈(0, 2)then n trajectories of ξ(α) are asymptotically separated, where ξ(α) is the α-process generated by −(−Δ)α/2.
