We study the differential branching ratio, the branching ratio and the forward-backward asymmetry for exclusive decay in the two Higgs doublet model. We analyze the dependences of these quantities on the model parameters and show that these observables are highly sensitive to new physics and hence may provide a powerful probe of the SM and beyond. The decay \(b\rightarrow s\nu {\bar{\nu }}\) has received comparatively less attention than the semileptonic decay \(b\rightarrow s\ell ^+\ell ^-\), because neutrinos pass undetected and hence the process offers lesser number of observables. We show how the decay \(b\rightarrow s~+\) invisible(s) can shed light, even with a limited number of observables, on possible new physics beyond the Standard Model and also show, quantitatively, the reach of future B factories like SuperBelle to uncover such new physics. Depending on the operator structure of new physics, different channels may act as the best possible probe. We show, using the optimal observable technique, how almost the entire parameter space allowed till now can successfully be probed at a high-luminosity B factory.  相似文献

We present the effects of heavy CP-even (H) and CP-odd (A) Higgs bosons on the production cross section of the process at the energy around the mass poles of the Higgs bosons. It is found that interference between H and A with small mass gap, as well as the ones between Higgs bosons and continuum, contributes to the cross section, if the photon beams are polarized and if we observe the helicity of the top quarks. It is demonstrated in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model that the H and A contributions can be sizable at future colliders for small values of . The methods to measure the CP-parity of the Higgs boson are also presented. The statistical significance of detecting the Higgs signals and measuring the Higgs CP-parity is evaluated. A theoretical study of the anomalous decay mode is presented. The theoretical value of the branching ratio of agrees well with the data. The branching ratio of is predicted. It is found that the vertices of and play a dominant role in these two decay modes. CVC is satisfied, and there is no adjustable parameter. A form factor reweighting technique has been elaborated to permit relatively easy comparisons between different form factor models applied to exclusive decays. The software tool developed for this purpose is described. It can be used with any event generator, three of which were used in this work: ISGW2, PHSP and FLATQ2, a new powerful generator. The software tool allows for an easy and reliable implementation of any form factor model. The tool has been fully validated with the ISGW2 form factor hypothesis. The results of our present studies indicate that the combined use of the FLATQ2 generator and the form factor reweighting tool should play a very important role in future exclusive |V ub | measurements, with largely reduced errors.Received: 28 May 2004, Revised: 23 July 2004, Published online: 3 November 2004  相似文献

We perform a complete analysis of isospin breaking in amplitudes in chiral perturbation theory, including both strong isospin violation ( ) and electromagnetic corrections to next-to-leading order in the low-energy expansion. The unknown chiral couplings are estimated at leading order in the 1/Nc expansion. We study the impact of isospin breaking on CP conserving amplitudes and rescattering phases. In particular, we extract the effective couplings g8 and g27 from a fit to branching ratios, finding small deviations from the isospin-limit case. The ratio measuring the enhancement is found to decrease from in the isospin limit to in the presence of isospin breaking. We also analyze the effect of isospin violation on the CP violation parameter , finding a destructive interference between three different sources of isospin violation. Within the uncertainties of large-Nc estimates for the low-energy constants, the isospin violating correction for is below 15%.Received: 21 November 2003, Published online: 4 February 2004Work supported in part by IHP-RTN, Contract No. HPRN-CT2002-00311 (EURIDICE) and by Acciones Integradas, Project No. 19/2003 (Austria), HU2002-0044 (MCYT, Spain)  相似文献

We study effects of charged Higgs boson exchange in theB semileptonic decays $\bar B \to D^{(*)} \tau \bar v_\tau $ . Both branching ratio and τ polarization are examined. We use the recent experimental data on semileptonicB decays and the heavy quark effective theory in order to reduce theoretical uncertainty in the hadronic form factors. Theoretical uncertainty in the branching ratio is found to be rather small and that in the τ polarization is almost negligible. Their measurements will give nontrivial constraints on the charged Higgs sector.  相似文献

We consider measurements of exclusive rare semi-tauonic b-hadron decays, mediated by the \(b \rightarrow s \tau ^+ \tau ^-\) transition, at a future high-energy circular electron–positron collider (FCC-ee). We argue that the high boosts of b-hadrons originating from on-shell Z boson decays allow for a full reconstruction of the decay kinematics in hadronic \(\tau \) decay modes (up to discrete ambiguities). This, together with the potentially large statistics of \(Z\rightarrow b\bar{b}\), opens the door for the experimental determination of \(\tau \) polarizations in these rare b-hadron decays. In the light of the current experimental situation on lepton flavor universality in rare semileptonic B decays, we discuss the complementary short-distance physics information carried by the \(\tau \) polarizations and suggest suitable theoretically clean observables in the form of single- and double-\(\tau \) polarization asymmetries.  相似文献

We use the light-cone sum rule technique to calculate the contribution of the gluonic penguin operator O 8g to the decay of the B-meson to two pions. Leading-order perturbative and non-perturbative corrections are included, corresponding to hard and soft exchanged gluons, respectively. While the overall contribution of this operator to the decay is small as expected before, we find that the so-called soft-gluon part of this contribution is of the order of the hard-gluon one. This implies that the inclusion of soft gluons in the calculation of matrix elements may be important.Received: 30 September 2002, Published online: 22 October 2003PACS: 13.25.Hw Hadronic decays of mesons: Decays of bottom mesons - 11.55.Hx Sum rules  相似文献

We study the quark-mass dependence of \(\omega \rightarrow 3\pi \) decays, based on a dispersion-theoretical framework. We rely on the quark-mass-dependent scattering phase shift for the pion–pion P-wave extracted from unitarized chiral perturbation theory. The dispersive representation then takes into account the final-state rescattering among all three pions. The described formalism may be used as an extrapolation tool for lattice QCD calculations of three-pion decays, for which \(\omega \rightarrow 3\pi \) can serve as a paradigm case.  相似文献

We analyse CP-violating effects in Z 4 jet decays, assuming the presence of CP-violating effective $ and couplings. We discuss the influence of these couplings on the decay width. Furthermore, we propose various strategies of a direct search for such CP-violating couplings by using different CP-odd observables. The present data of LEP 1 should give significant information on the couplings. Received: 1 February 1999 / Published online: 30 June 1999  相似文献

The branching ratios of the measured decay and of the still unmeasured decay are calculated to next-to-leading order in chiral perturbation theory (CHPT). Recent experimental results are used to determine two possible values of the combination of weak low-energy couplings (LECs) from the chiral Lagrangian. The values obtained are compared to the predictions of theoretical approaches to weak counterterm couplings to distinguish between the two values. Using the favoured value of the combination and taking into account additional assumptions suggested by the considered models, one obtains the branching ratio of the second decay as a function of the unknown combination of weak low-energy couplings. Finally, using values of the individual LECs derived from a particular model, one predicts the branching ratio of the decay. Received: 27 February 2001 / Published online: 11 May 2001  相似文献

We study the exclusive rare decay $B \rightarrow k{\bar l}l$ . We calculate the relevant form factors within a relativistic constituent quark model, for the first time without employing the impulse approximation. The calculated form factors are used to evaluate differential decay rates and polarization observables. We present results on the q2-dependence of a set of observables with and without long-distance contributions. A similar analysis is done for the exclusive rare decays $B_c \rightarrow D(D^*){\bar l}l$ with special emphasis on the cascade decay $B_c\to D^\ast(\to D\pi){\bar l} l$ . We derive a four-fold angular decay distribution for this process in terms of helicity amplitudes including lepton mass effects. The four-fold angular decay distribution allows to define a number of physical observables which are amenable to measurement. We compare our results with the results of other studies.  相似文献

The first observation of the and transitions by the Belle Collaboration allows us to do a complete isospin analysis of the decay modes. We find that their respective isospin phase shifts are very likely to lie in the ranges (or around ) and (or around ), although the possibility cannot be ruled out at present. Thus significant final-state rescattering effects possibly exist in such exclusive processes. We determine the spectator and color-suppressed spectator quark-diagram amplitudes of the and decays, and compare them with the corresponding quark-diagram amplitudes of the and decays. The effects of SU(3) flavor symmetry breaking are in most cases understandable in the factorization approximation, which works for the individual isospin amplitudes. Very instructive predictions are also obtained for the branching fractions of rare , and transitions. The paper gives the polarization of the tau lepton in the semileptonic B decays with respect to the direction of the virtual W boson. The result given includes the nonperturbative HQET corrections. The perturbative QCD corrections are probably negligible, as is suggested by the existing results for the longitudinal polarization of the charged lepton (Jeżabek and Urban, 1998).
