We introduce a filtration of a -module of some space of functions on a reductive symmetric space G/H, and compute the associated grading as a direct sum of induced representations. As an application of this result to the reductive groups viewed as symmetric spaces, we are able to realize any Harish-Chandra module as a subquotient of a direct sum of induced representations from parabolic subgroups, the inducing representations being trivial on the unipotent radical.  相似文献

We generalize Casselman's pairing to p-adic reductive symmetric spaces and study the asymptotic behaviour of certain generalized coefficients. We also prove an analogue of a lemma due to Langlands which allows us to prove a disjunction result for the Cartan decomposition of the p-adic reductive symmetric spaces.  相似文献

We prove that admissible functions for Fubini-Study metric on the complex projective space PmC of complex dimension m, invariant by a convenient automorphisms group, are lower bounded by a function going to minus infinity on the boundary of usual charts of PmC. A similar lower bound holds on some projective manifolds. This gives an optimal constant in a Hörmander type inequality on these manifolds, which allows us, using Tian's invariant, to establish the existence of Einstein-Kähler metrics on them.  相似文献

This paper generalizes the first author's preceding works concerning admissible functions on certain Fano manifolds [A. Ben Abdesselem, Lower bound of admissible functions on sphere, Bull. Sci. Math. 126 (2002) 675-680 [2]; A. Ben Abdesselem, Enveloppes inférieures de fonctions admissibles sur l'espace projectif complexe. Cas symétrique, Bull. Sci. Math. 130 (2006) 341-353 [3]]. Here, we study a larger class of functions which can be less symmetric than the ones studied before. When the sup of these functions is null, we prove that they admit a lower bound, giving precisely Tian invariant [G. Tian, On Kähler-Einstein metrics on certain Kähler manifolds with C1(M)>0, Invent. Math. 89 (1987) 225-246 [7]] (see also [T. Aubin, Réduction du cas positif de l'équation de Monge-Ampère sur les variétés Kählériennes à la démonstration d'une inégalité, J. Funct. Anal. 57 (1984) 143-153 [1]]) on these manifolds.  相似文献

We present in this article several possibilities to approach the height of an algebraic curve defined over a number field: as an intersection number via the Arakelov theory, as a limit point of the heights of its algebraic points and, finally, using the minimal degree of Belyi functions.  相似文献

Résumé We define an involution on the set of tempered virtual characters of a connected reductive p-adic group. This involution commutes with character of parabolic induction and with truncation. It also preserves the irreducible characters up to sign and the elliptic inner product.  相似文献

For a finite group G, let E(G) denote the near-ring of functions generated by the semigroup, End(G), of endomorphisms of G. We characterize when E(G) is maximal as a subnear-ring of M 0(G). A group G is an E-group if E(G) is a ring. We give a new characterization of finite E-groups and investigate the problem of determining, for finite E-groups, when E(G) is maximal as a ring in M0(G). The degenerate semi-Riemannian geometry of a Lie group is studied. Then a naturally reductive homogeneous semi-Riemannian space is obtained from the Lie group in a natural way.  相似文献

Let H be a closed normal subgroup of a compact Lie group G such that G/H is connected. This paper provides a necessary and sufficient condition for every complex representation of H to be extendible to G, and also for every complex G-vector bundle over the homogeneous space G/H to be trivial. In particular, we show that the condition holds when the fundamental group of G/H is torsion free.  相似文献

We prove that any topological loop homeomorphic to a sphere or to a real projective space and having a compact-free Lie group as the inner mapping group is homeomorphic to the circle. Moreover, we classify the differentiable 1-dimensional compact loops explicitly using the theory of Fourier series. Let F be a finite extension of ℚ p . For each integer n≥1, we construct a bijection from the set ?F 0 (n) of isomorphism classes of irreducible degree n representations of the (absolute) Weil group of F, onto the set ? F 0 (n) of isomorphism classes of smooth irreducible supercuspidal representations of GL n (F). Those bijections preserve epsilon factors for pairs and hence we obtain a proof of the Langlands conjectures for GL n over F, which is more direct than Harris and Taylor’s. Our approach is global, and analogous to the derivation of local class field theory from global class field theory. We start with a result of Kottwitz and Clozel on the good reduction of some Shimura varieties and we use a trick of Harris, who constructs non-Galois automorphic induction in certain cases. The notion of descent algebra of a bialgebra is lifted to the Barratt-Joyal setting of twisted bialgebras. The new twisted descent algebras share many properties with their classical counterparts. For example, there are twisted analogs of classical Lie idempotents and of the peak algebra. Moreover, the universal twisted descent algebra is equipped with two products and a coproduct, and there is a fundamental rule linking all three. This algebra is shown to be naturally related to the geometry of the Coxeter complex of type A.  相似文献

For any torsion theory in a homological category, one can define a categorical Galois structure and try to describe the corresponding Galois coverings. In this article we provide several characterizations of these coverings for a special class of torsion theories, which we call quasi-hereditary. We describe a new reflective factorization system that is induced by any quasi-hereditary torsion theory. These results are then applied to study various examples of torsion theories in the category of topological groups.  相似文献

Let f:GH be a homomorphism between smooth Lie groups modelled on Mackey complete, locally convex real topological vector spaces. We show that if f is Hölder continuous at 1, then f is smooth.  相似文献

Let G be a complex semi-simple Lie group and form its maximal flag manifold where P is a minimal parabolic (Borel) subgroup, U a compact real form and T=UP a maximal torus of U. We study U-invariant almost Hermitian structures on . The (1,2)-symplectic (or quasi-Kähler) structures are naturally related to the affine Weyl groups. A special form for them, involving abelian ideals of a Borel subalgebra, is derived. From the (1,2)-symplectic structures a classification of the whole set of invariant structures is provided showing, in particular, that nearly Kähler invariant structures are Kähler, except in the A2 case.  相似文献

We define and investigate the class of symmetric and the class of semibounded de Branges spaces of entire functions. A construction is made which assigns to each symmetric de Branges space a semibounded one. By employing operator theoretic tools it is shown that every semibounded de Branges space can be obtained in this way, and which symmetric spaces give rise to the same semibounded space. Those subclasses of Hermite-Biehler functions are determined which correspond to symmetric or semibounded, respectively, nondegenerated de Branges spaces. The above assignment is determined in terms of the respective generating Hermite-Biehler functions.  相似文献
