This article represents a new Y-branch hybrid design of 2D photonic crystal with defect control. The structure is made of hexagonal arrays of InP nano-rods surrounded by air. This system is comprised of a modified add/change to a polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) rod, which can be applied to the beam splitter selection device. The optical properties and radial of PMMA defect rods have been transfigured. By selecting an appropriate temperature, a change of refractive index and expanded radius are occurred. The obtained results have shown that the selected optical amplitude in a hybrid semiconductor-polymer Y-branch can be separated to 50–50, 60–40 and 67–33 % at wavelength 1.557 µm. Both of the photonic band gap and transmission spectra are calculated by using 2D finite different time domain (FDTD) method via OptiFDTD software. Such a device can be useful for photonic crystal switching devices in the integrated optical circuit.  相似文献

Amorphous chalcogenide thin films are of high current interest for technological applications as optical storage media or waveguides for photonic integrated circuits. As part of a larger project including fs, ps and ns pulsed laser deposition regimes, Er- and Pr-doped GLS thin films were deposited by ns PLD, and their structural, chemical and optical properties were analyzed by optical and electronic microscopy, stylus profilometry, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF–SIMS), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, variable-angle spectroscopic ellipsometry and optical transmission. Films deposited at moderate fluence (~4 J/cm2) in UV (266 nm) presented a good surface quality, while exhibiting acceptable composition uniformity and deviations from stoichiometry in line with the literature. Composition and optical properties dependences on the deposition conditions were investigated and discussed with respect to previous studies on similar systems.  相似文献

In this paper we propose an optical biosensor based on two vertically stacked Silicon on Insulator (SOI) micro-ring resonators interacting with a microfluidic ring channel. This device behaves as a resonant optical coupler and it is very sensitive to the variation of the coupling coefficient between the two vertically stacked ring resonators. A ring microfluidic channel is proposed in the coupling region between the two vertically stacked ring resonators. The inner walls of the channel are funzionalized in order to the trap a specific biological species. Assuming a biotin-streptavidin system, the straptividin trapping gives rise to a change of the biological thickness of about 3 nm. This thickness increase of the deposited layer leads to a consequent change in the coupling strength between the two rings. These theoretical predictions have been validated by using both 3D Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) and 3D full-vectorial Finite Element Method (FEM) approaches. Moreover, by appropriately choosing the design parameters of the micro-resonant structure, we evaluate a sensitivity of the spectral response to the streptavidin adlayer variation of about 20% nm?1 for TE polarization and 34% nm?1 for TM polarization, which represents an important achievement to obtain selective SOI bio-sensors with ultra-high resolution.  相似文献

The key elements of a mobile hardware/software package for noninvasive diagnostics of skin diseases in the THz frequency range have been designed, produced, and approved in model experiments. These elements are a compact THz oscillator based on an all-fiber femtosecond laser system and a unit for recovering electrodynamic characteristics of layered objects from scattered THz radiation spectra. Generation of 250-fs optical pulses at a wavelength of 1.03 µm with energy of 0.3 µJ and a repetition frequency of 1MHz is demonstrated and the efficiency of optical-THz conversion is found to be 5×10?6. The proposed algorithm is constructed based on an iterative procedure and can be used for dispersive and absorbing media. It has higher operating speed in comparison with the algorithms for solving inverse problems, which are based on functional minimization methods.  相似文献

The aim of this work is the pulsed laser printing of liquid-phase exfoliated graphene in the nanosecond regime and the optimization of the printing process on Si/SiO2 and flexible polymer substrates (polyethylene naphthalate) via the laser-induced forward transfer technique (LIFT). The laser printing conditions and the optimum energy fluence window for reproducible deposition have been investigated, while the deposited graphene features have been studied morphologically and structurally by means of optical microscopy, micro-Raman spectroscopy and electrical characterization. LIFT experiments were carried out using the fourth harmonic (266 nm) of a pulsed ns Nd:YAG laser combined with a high-power imaging micromachining system to monitor the printing process throughout the experiments. The irradiation of our graphene solution resulted in the deposition of well-resolved patterns on different surfaces, highlighting LIFT as an alternative technique for the printing and patterning of liquid-phase exfoliated graphene for organic electronics applications.  相似文献

In this paper, an optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) system was analysed to improve the bit error rate (BER) performance at 10 Gbps. The improvements to this system were based on a modified double weight code and a NAND subtraction technique and aimed to support the large number of active users in the fibre-to-the-home network. The system performance was investigated through extensive theoretical and numerical simulation analyses. The theoretical and simulation results revealed that the new detection technique exhibits improved BER performance compared to conventional techniques, such as complimentary subtraction techniques. The system performance was characterised by the signal-to-noise ratio, the bit error rate (BER), and various transmit powers ( $P_{sr} - 10$  dBm). The results show that the proposed system, which is based on a new detection technique, can achieve the optimal BER with a high number of users and maintains the error floor transmission rate $(\le 10^{-9})$ .  相似文献

Continuous-wave (CW) 2.52 Terahertz (THz) 3D tomographic images were obtained by numerically reconstructing a single Gabor inline digital hologram based on modified compressive sensing reconstruction algorithm. Three metallic copper samples which are separately adhered to three Teflon plate were used as the targets. The actual axial resolution achieved was higher than 6 mm, and the lateral resolution was higher than 0.4 mm. Similarly, a paper clip and a handwritten character sample on a white paper were also imaged. Numerical simulation and experimental results verified the preferable reconstruction characteristics of the proposed modified algorithm. The feasibility of CW THz Gabor inline compressive holographic tomography is confirmed by adding barriers such as Teflon boards and thermal paper to block the samples.  相似文献

In this paper, the authors investigate the performance of recently presented run-length limited (4, 18) code for high density optical storage systems. The construction of the code is described simply. The code has code rate R = 1/3 and density ratio (DR) = 1.67. The bit error rate (BER) performance for decision feedback equalizer (DFE) and partial response maximum likelihood (PRML) detector are simulated, considering signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and optical channel jitter. The result shows that the performance of the code is acceptable. The encoder and decoder of the code are implemented by complex programmable logic device (CPLD) chip and the hardware resources required for encoder and decoder arelow.  相似文献

We demonstrate the qualitative analysis of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) intensity and optical extinction by experimentally and numerically. This analytical methods are well matched not only the simple square lattice array of nanostructures, but also the rectangular lattices. We also demonstrate SERS selectivity of modes controlling the optical extinction of excitation and scattering wavelength. Both square lattice and rectangular lattice have similar tendency, but the rectangular lattice structures have much higher selectivity of SERS modes.  相似文献

A new experimental method for measuring the optical anisotropy induced at photochemical reactions is proposed. The method is based on polarization holography and is a zero-background high sensitive technique. New system of optical soliton signal generation with a high frequency band is presented. Microring resonator can be used to generate soliton signals with high frequency of GHz. These signals can be transmitted via a wireless network system known as WiMAX, which is providing broadband wireless access up to 50 km. The soliton pulses are more stable with less loss during propagation which is good candidate compare to other current optical waves used in optical communication. In this study, soliton pulses with full width at half maximum of 3 MHz and FSR of 85 MHz could be generated using an add/drop filter system which is used to generate high frequency signals, required for wireless network systems. These pulses can be used as carrier signals in order to transmit information codes without significant changes, thus improving transmission quality and delivery of the right information.  相似文献

Swift heavy ions induced modification of thin films of blends of poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) (50:50) with organically modified nanoclay (Cloisite® 30B) has been studied, using optical, structural and surface morphological analysis. Presence of nanoclay is found to enhance the properties of this degradable copolymer by reducing the rate of degradation even at high irradiation fluence. Optical and structural analysis of the polymer nanocomposites suggests that both the cross-linking and chain scission phenomenon are caused by swift heavy ion irradiation. XRD measurements show intercalation of PLGA in the clay galleries. Surface morphology of a nanocomposite indicates significant changes after irradiation at various fluences.  相似文献

The advantages of read-only storage is the predominance of optical recording relative to magnetic and other rewritable methods. Multilevel (ML) read-only technology has been a trend to improve the data capacity and transfer rate. Based on the principle and coding method of ML, this paper demonstrates some ML read-only recording methods, of which a new ML read-only recording is developed. This recording method integrates amplitude modulation achieved by the reaction mechanism of physics and chemistry of photoresist with the run-length-limited technology. The discs can be achieved using standard photoresist mastering and replication techniques with great compatibility to conventional binary read-only discs.  相似文献

A technique has been developed for dopant concentration depth profiling using static Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS), and an ex-situ ion milling facility to produce “tapers” through the region of interest of an optical waveguide sample. Results have been obtained for titanium-diffused optical waveguides in lithium niobate and for potassium and caesium ion-exchanged glass waveguides. The SIMS profiles have been compared with refractive index profiles in multimode structures. The refractive index profiles have been obtained from the waveguide mode spectra by a piecewise linear Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) method. The two profiles are in close agreement. Use of the SIMS technique for single mode Ti∶LiNbO3 waveguides has revealed significant changes in the forms of the profiles, compared with deeper structures, and we suggest a mechanism to account for these changes.  相似文献

随着卫星定位以及测定轨精度的提高,需要研究厘米量级的高精度测距系统。针对现有测控系统测量距离值存在较大随机误差的问题,提出了一种基于速度对距离值进行平滑的方法,以减小测距随机误差。为了保证速度的解算精度,给出了一种基于三阶锁相环路的跟踪接收方案,并对环路跟踪精度、速度平滑时间选择及优化等进行分析和仿真。仿真结果表明,新提出的接收方案和速率平滑距离方法能够实现对不同动态目标信号的有效跟踪,有效降低距离测量的随机误差,可为高精度航天测控系统提供一种解决思路。  相似文献

This is the first report and investigation of a patch antenna in optical frequency range. Variety of plasmonic nanoantenna reported so far is good at enhancing the local field intensity of light by orders of magnitude. However, their far-field radiation efficiency is very poor. The proposed patch antenna emits a directional beam with high efficacy in addition to enhancing the intensity of near field. The nano-patch antenna (NPA) consists of a square patch of gold film of dimension 480 nm2, placed on a substrate of dielectric constant \( \varepsilon_{\text{r}} \)  = 3.9 and thickness 150 nm with a ground plane of gold film of dimension 1,080 nm2. The NPA resonates at 210 THz and has gain nearly 2 dB and radiation efficiency 45.18 %. The NPA might be useful in variety of applications such as optical communication, nano-photonics, biosensing, and spectroscopy.  相似文献

Structural and optical properties of Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) thin films stacked with multiple Lead Selenide (PbSe) submonolayers (ML) were studied. Thermal evaporation was preferred to produce ZnSe–PbSe thin films with the PbSe ML thickness ranges from 2.5 to 10 nm. Polycrystalline nature of the ZnSe was revealed through high resolution X-ray diffractometer measurement. The development of micro strain at the interfaces with increasing PbSe ML thickness was observed. A cross-sectional TEM image shows well-ordered periodicity and reproducibility of the layer thickness. The enhancement of optical absorption of ZnSe was identified upon stacking of PbSe ML. The evidence for quantum confinement in PbSe ML was revealed by the obtained red shift in band gap (2.5–1.8 eV) values as well as photoluminescence emission at 1,071 nm. The presence of tensile strain in the ZnSe layers upon staking of PbSe ML was discussed by the shift in LO phonon modes in Raman spectra.  相似文献

Single crystal thin films of Bi substituted iron garnets have been grown by the liquid phase epitaxy technique. The growth conditions and compositions are presented together with the segregation coefficients of Bi and Pb as a function of growth temperature. The Faraday rotation and optical absorption have been measured for wavelengths between 0.7 and 0.46 μm. The superior magneto-optic properties (Faraday rotations of up to ten times larger than that observed for Y3Fe5O12) make these epitaxial layers attractive for magneto-optic devices. The influence of Pb incorporation on the optical properties of the films is discussed. Compositions of Bi and Ga(Al) substituted Gd3Fe5O12, which exhibit a magnetic compensation temperature near room temperature and high Faraday rotation, have also been prepared. The magnetic switching behaviour as a function of temperature has been determined. It shows that these films are especially suited for thermomagnetic recording using an argon ion laser at a wavelength of 5145 Å.  相似文献
