On the bounded part of a Hilbert module over a locally C *-algebra

We will show that the bounded part of the locally C^*-algebra of all adjointable operators on the Hilbert A-module E is isomorphic to the C^*-algebra L _b(A)(b(E)) of all adjointable operators on the Hilbert b(A)-module b(E). This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.

Metrics in the sphere of a C*-module

Given a unital C*-algebra and a right C*-module over , we consider the problem of finding short smooth curves in the sphere = {x ∈ : 〈x, x〉 = 1}. Curves in are measured considering the Finsler metric which consists of the norm of at each tangent space of . The initial value problem is solved, for the case when is a von Neumann algebra and is selfdual: for any element x ₀ ∈ and any tangent vector ν at x ₀, there exists a curve γ(t) = e ^tZ (x ₀), Z ∈ , Z* = −Z and ∥Z∥ ≤ π, such that γ(0) = x ₀ and (0) = ν, which is minimizing along its path for t ∈ [0, 1]. The existence of such Z is linked to the extension problem of selfadjoint operators. Such minimal curves need not be unique. Also we consider the boundary value problem: given x ₀, x ₁ ∈ , find a curve of minimal length which joins them. We give several partial answers to this question. For instance, let us denote by f ₀ the selfadjoint projection I − x ₀ ⊗ x ₀, if the algebra f ₀ f ₀ is finite dimensional, then there exists a curve γ joining x ₀ and x ₁, which is minimizing along its path.      

遗传C~*-子代数与可补闭子模的关系定理

设 E是 Hilbert C~*-模,证明了E的每个闭子模均可补的充要条件是 K(E)的每个非零遗传C~*-子代数B,均有形式B=pK(E)p,其中p为L(E)中投影元。

本文在Hilbert C~*-模框架下获得了Stone型定理,使得经典的Stone定理是其特例。     

On a duality between Boolean valued analysis and topological Reduction Theory

By creating an unbounded topological reduction theory for complex Hilbert spaces over Stonean spaces, we can give a category-theoretic duality between Boolean valued analysis and topological reduction theory for complex Hilbert spaces. MSC: 03C90, 03E40, 06E15, 46M99.     

Derivations on the algebra of operators in hilbert C*-modules

Let M be a full Hilbert C*-module over a C*-algebra A,and let End*A(M) be the algebra of adjointable operators on M.We show that if A is unital and commutative,then every derivation of End A(M) is an inner derivation,and that if A is σ-unital and commutative,then innerness of derivations on "compact" operators completely decides innerness of derivations on End*A(M).If A is unital(no commutativity is assumed) such that every derivation of A is inner,then it is proved that every derivation of End*A(Ln(A)) is also inner,where Ln(A) denotes the direct sum of n copies of A.In addition,in case A is unital,commutative and there exist x0,y0 ∈ M such that x0,y0 = 1,we characterize the linear A-module homomorphisms on End*A(M) which behave like derivations when acting on zero products.

本文主要研究了Hilbert C~*-模上广义g-框架.给出了Hilbert C~*-模上的广义g-框架,广义g-框架算子,广义典则对偶g-框架及广义交错对偶g-框架的定义,并证明了有关广义g-框架的一些结果.     

Kac-系统与Morita等价

本文讨论与Hilbert C~*-模相关的Kac-系统在C~*-代数上的作用的性质,给出了两个Morita等价的C~*-代数(在Kac-系统的作用下得到的C~*-代数的余交叉积是Morita等价的)。从而,Baaj和Skandalis等人的结论是本文定理的特殊情况。     

Bessel-type inequalities in Hilbert C *-modules

Regarding the generalizations of the Bessel inequality in Hilbert spaces which are due to Bombieri and Boas–Bellman, we obtain a version of the Bessel inequality and some generalizations of this inequality in the framework of Hilbert C *-modules.     

Quasidiagonal representations of nilpotent groups

We show that every unitary representation of a discrete solvable virtually nilpotent group G is quasidiagonal. Roughly speaking, this says that every unitary representation of G   approximately decomposes as a direct sum of finite dimensional approximate representations. In operator algebraic terms we show that C^?(G)$C^{?}(G)$ is strongly quasidiagonal.
