The function spaces Dk(Rn) are introduced and studied. The definition of these spaces is based on a regularity property for the critical Sobolev spaces Ws,p(Rn), where sp=n, obtained by J. Bourgain, H. Brezis, New estimates for the Laplacian, the div-curl, and related Hodge systems, C. R. Math. Acad. Sci. Paris 338 (7) (2004) 539-543 (see also J. Van Schaftingen, Estimates for L1-vector fields, C. R. Math. Acad. Sci. Paris 339 (3) (2004) 181-186). The spaces Dk(Rn) contain all the critical Sobolev spaces. They are embedded in BMO(Rn), but not in VMO(Rn). Moreover, they have some extension and trace properties that BMO(Rn) does not have.  相似文献

In [C. Amrouche, V. Girault, J. Giroire, Dirichlet and Neumann exterior problems for the n-dimensional Laplace operator. An approach in weighted Sobolev spaces, J. Math. Pures Appl. 76 (1997) 55-81], authors study Dirichlet and Neumann problems for the Laplace operator in exterior domains of Rn. This paper extends this study to the resolution of a mixed exterior Laplace's problem. Here, we give existence, unicity and regularity results in Lp's theory with 1<p<∞, in weighted Sobolev spaces.  相似文献

Considering the Sobolev type function classes on a metric space equipped with a Borel measure we address the question of compactness of embeddings of the space of traces into Lebesgue spaces on the sets of less “dimension.” Also, we obtain compactness conditions for embeddings of the traces of the classical Sobolev spaces W p 1 on the “zero” cusp with a Hölder singularity at the vertex.  相似文献

We study the initial value problem associated to the Benjamin-Ono equation. The aim is to establish persistence properties of the solution flow in the weighted Sobolev spaces , sR, s?1 and s?r. We also prove some unique continuation properties of the solution flow in these spaces. In particular, these continuation principles demonstrate that our persistence properties are sharp.  相似文献

In this paper we give a simple characterization of weighted Sobolev spaces (with piecewise monotone weights) such that the multiplication operator is bounded: it is bounded if and only if the support of μ0 is large enough. We also prove some basic properties of the appropriate weighted Sobolev spaces. To have bounded multiplication operator has important consequences in Approximation Theory: it implies the uniform bound of the zeros of the corresponding Sobolev orthogonal polynomials, and this fact allows to obtain the asymptotic behavior of Sobolev orthogonal polynomials.  相似文献

The boundedness of the finite Hilbert transform operator on certain weighted Lp spaces is well known. We extend this result to give the boundedness of that operator on certain weighted Sobolev spaces. (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Jumping nonlinearities and weighted Sobolev spaces   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Working in a weighted Sobolev space, a new result involving jumping nonlinearities for a semilinear elliptic boundary value problem in a bounded domain in RN is established. The nonlinear part of the equation is assumed to grow at most linearly and to be at resonance with the first eigenvalue of the linear part on the right. On the left, the nonlinearity crosses over (or jumps over) several higher eigenvalues. Existence is obtained through the use of infinite-dimensional critical point theory in the context of weighted Sobolev spaces and appears to be new even for the standard Dirichlet problem for the Laplacian.  相似文献

We prove sharp pointwise estimates for functions in the Sobolev spaces of radial functions defined in a ball. As a consequence, we obtain some imbeddings of such Sobolev spaces in weighted Lq-spaces. We also prove similar imbeddings for Sobolev spaces of functions with partial symmetry. Our techniques lead to new Hardy type inequalities. It is important to observe that we do not require any vanishing condition on the boundary to obtain all our estimates. We apply these imbeddings to obtain radial solutions and partially symmetric solutions for a biharmonic equation of the Hénon type under both Dirichlet and Navier boundary conditions. The delicate question of the regularity of these solutions is also established.  相似文献

In this paper we extend the DiPerna-Lions theory of flows associated to Sobolev vector fields to the case of Cameron-Martin-valued vector fields in Wiener spaces E having a Sobolev regularity. The proof is based on the analysis of the continuity equation in E, and on uniform (Gaussian) commutator estimates in finite-dimensional spaces.  相似文献

We make a contribution to the theory of embeddings of anisotropic Sobolev spaces into L p -spaces (Sobolev case) and spaces of Hölder continuous functions (Morrey case). In the case of bounded domains the generalized embedding theorems published so far pose quite restrictive conditions on the domain’s geometry (in fact, the domain must be “almost rectangular”). Motivated by the study of some evolutionary PDEs, we introduce the so-called “semirectangular setting”, where the geometry of the domain is compatible with the vector of integrability exponents of the various partial derivatives, and show that the validity of the embedding theorems can be extended to this case. Second, we discuss the a priori integrability requirement of the Sobolev anisotropic embedding theorem and show that under a purely algebraic condition on the vector of exponents, this requirement can be weakened. Lastly, we present a counterexample showing that for domains with general shapes the embeddings indeed do not hold.  相似文献

We consider the Dirichlet problem for non‐divergence parabolic equation with discontinuous in t coefficients in a half space. The main result is weighted coercive estimates of solutions in anisotropic Sobolev spaces. We give an application of this result to linear and quasi‐linear parabolic equations in a bounded domain. In particular, if the boundary is of class C1,δ , δ ∈ [0, 1], then we present a coercive estimate of solutions in weighted anisotropic Sobolev spaces, where the weight is a power of the distance to the boundary (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Error estimates for DGFE solutions are well investigated if one assumes that the exact solution is sufficiently regular. In this article, we consider a Dirichlet and a mixed boundary value problem for a linear elliptic equation in a polygon. It is well known that the first derivatives of the solutions develop singularities near reentrant corner points or points where the boundary conditions change. On the basis of the regularity results formulated in Sobolev–Slobodetskii spaces and weighted spaces of Kondratiev type, we prove error estimates of higher order for DGFE solutions using a suitable graded mesh refinement near boundary singular points. The main tools are as follows: regularity investigation for the exact solution relying on general results for elliptic boundary value problems, error analysis for the interpolation in Sobolev–Slobodetskii spaces, and error estimates for DGFE solutions on special graded refined meshes combined with estimates in weighted Sobolev spaces. Our main result is that there exist a local grading of the mesh and a piecewise interpolation by polynoms of higher degree such that we will get the same order O (hα) of approximation as in the smooth case. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. There are two main results in the paper. In the first one, Theorem 1, we prove that if the Sobolev embedding theorem holds in Ω, in any of all the possible cases, then Ω satisfies the measure density condition. The second main result, Theorem 5, provides several characterizations of the Wm,p-extension domains for 1<p<∞. As a corollary we prove that the property of being a W1,p-extension domain, 1<p?∞, is invariant under bi-Lipschitz mappings, Theorem 8.  相似文献

We study in this article the improved Sobolev inequalities with Muckenhoupt weights within the framework of stratified Lie groups. This family of inequalities estimate the Lq norm of a function by the geometric mean of two norms corresponding to Sobolev spaces and Besov spaces . When the value p which characterizes Sobolev space is strictly larger than 1, the required result is well known in Rn and is classically obtained by a Littlewood-Paley dyadic blocks manipulation. For these inequalities we will develop here another totally different technique. When p=1, these two techniques are not available anymore and following M. Ledoux (2003) [12], in Rn, we will treat here the critical case p=1 for general stratified Lie groups in a weighted functional space setting. Finally, we will go a step further with a new generalization of improved Sobolev inequalities using weak-type Sobolev spaces.  相似文献

Let F be a compact d-set in R^n with 0 〈 d ≤ n, which includes various kinds of fractals. The author establishes an embedding theorem for the Besov spaces Bpq^s(F) of Triebel and the Sobolev spaces W^1,P(F,d,μ) of Hajtasz when s 〉 1, 1 〈 p 〈∞ and 0 〈 q ≤ ∞. The author also gives some applications of the estimates of the entropy numbers in the estimates of the eigenvalues of some fractal pseudodifferential operators in the spaces Bpq^0(F) and Fpq^0(F).  相似文献

We study the spaces of functions on for which the generalized partial derivatives exist and belong to different Lorentz spaces Lpk,sk. For this kind of functions we prove a sharp version of the extreme case of the Sobolev embedding theorem using L(∞,s) spaces.  相似文献

We consider a class of matrix quasielliptic operators on the n-dimensional space. For these operators, we establish the isomorphism properties in some special scales of weighted Sobolev spaces. Basing on these properties, we prove the unique solvability of the initial value problem for a class of Sobolev type equations.  相似文献
