根据光线经过折射面后像距和折射面参数之间的关系,将折射面划分为若干同心圆环,各圆环之间沿光轴有一定的轴向间隔。一束平行于光轴的光线入射后,经过不同部分光线的像点相互重叠从而使球差减小。根据上述思想用单透镜构造一个透镜称为环带透镜,然后以环数为2的透镜为例用CODE V进行像差分析。和双胶合透镜比较得出:环带透镜的球差、波像差以及轴上点的弥散斑优于胶合透镜,同时光学传递函数指标提高,接近衍射极限。  相似文献

We demonstrate the propagation of a light pulse undergoing refraction and total refraction inside a glass block as well as diffraction at a grating. Observation of a frameless, continuous motion picture of the light propagation is possible by recording of hologram with a picosecond pulsed laser. It is shown that the direction of the pulse changes as a result of refraction, the pulse's speed decreases inside a glass block, and the pulse travels a zigzag path by total refraction. The pulse fronts of the diffracted light propagating parallel to the grating surface are also demonstrated.  相似文献

This paper examines the conditions for, and provides examples of, ray splitting in the reflection and refraction of surface acoustic waves (SAW) in elastically anisotropic solids at straight obstacles such as edges, surface breaking cracks, and interfaces between different solids. The concern here is not with the partial scattering of an incident SAW's energy into bulk waves, but with the occurrence of more than one SAW ray in the reflected and/or transmitted wave fields, by analogy with birefringence in optics and mode conversion of bulk elastic waves at interfaces. SAW ray splitting is dependent on the SAW slowness curve possessing concave regions, which within the constraint of wave vector conservation parallel to the obstacle allows multiple outgoing SAW modes for certain directions of incidence and orientation of obstacle. The existence of pseudo-SAW for a given surface provides a further channel for ray splitting. This paper discusses some typical material configurations for which SAW ray splitting occurs. An example is provided of mode conversion entailing backward reflection or negative refraction. Experimental demonstration of ray splitting in the reflection of a laser generated SAW in GaAs(111) is provided. The calculation of SAW mode conversion amplitudes lies outside the scope of this paper.  相似文献

Graded-index planar optical waveguides and surface compression layers were formed simultaneously in the surface layer of glass plates by ion exchange. A change in the refractometer patterns was observed. Before ion exchange, only a critical ray fringe was observed, but with ion exchange a guided wave fringe appeared on the high effective refractive index side of the ‘critical ray’ fringe, and the number of guided wave fringes increased. The guided wave fringe or fringes were birefringent, whereas the ‘critical ray’ fringe was kept nonbirefringent. It was concluded that the ‘critical ray’ propagated along the bottom of a waveguide, ie at the foot of the refractive index distribution.  相似文献

采用阳极层线性离子源解离氮气对玻璃表面进行刻蚀处理,研究表面改性后玻璃表面的变化,并分析离化电压对表面粗糙度、折射率以及光学厚度的影响。在此基础上,基于椭圆偏振光谱仪,通过对比不同表面状态下的Δ光谱,讨论固定波长变化入射角的Δ光谱曲线特征与表面折射率、布儒斯特角、粗糙度以及光学厚度之间的关系。结果表明,刻蚀后玻璃的布儒斯特角附近的Δ光谱曲线形状发生变化,突变向高角度偏移,曲线下降斜率增大。通过建模并拟合分析发现,氮离子束轰击使玻璃表面产生光密介质层,表面折射率增大,布儒斯特角增大,粗糙度降低,且随离化电压升高,折射率不变,而光密介质层厚度增加。由原子力显微镜分析表面形貌,验证了离子束对玻璃表面的平整化作用。X射线光电子能谱结果表明离子束使玻璃表面发生选择性溅射,推断光密介质层的产生来自于离子束对玻璃表面的夯实作用。此外,推导并验证了Δ光谱曲线的特征与材料表面状态之间的普适关系,提出了基于椭圆偏振光谱仪的材料表面评估方法,即Δ曲线的突变发生角度增大说明折射率与布儒斯特角的增大;下降斜率增大说明表面粗糙度减小;曲线两端尖角增大说明光学厚度增大。反之亦然。  相似文献

A generalization of the Cormac algorithm for the inversion of the Radon transformation in an optical medium with an axisymmetric index of refraction has been proposed. The distribution of rays is such that only one ray passes through any two points in the circle. A “parallel scanning scheme” of tomography has been considered: a cylindrical object is illuminated by a parallel beam of light, the rays of which are deflected into the cylinder. There is no refraction on the surface of the cylinder. The algorithm assumes the possibility of attenuation on a ray, which also has an axisymmetric character. Such a type of ray deflection occurs in problematic issues of the tomography of GRADANs, light guides, and plasma.

根据光在各向异性介质中遵从的Fermat 原理,较系统地讨论了单轴晶体和各向同性介质交界面上的e 光( 非常光) 光线的折射,得到了光轴在任意取向情况下的折射基本公式。同时给出一般情况下确定e 光线折射角的具体解。在此基础上对几种特殊的光轴取向给予了较详细的讨论。最后讨论了e 光线的折射公式与e 光波法线的折射定律的等价性,从而说明Fermat 原理与光的电磁波理论存在内在的一致性。  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a full 3D simulation for light power distribution of an InGaN/GaN MQW LED with a textured surface. Device simulation was performed with the APSYS software to get power distribution of light sources inside the LED. Based on this, ray tracing simulation was carried out to get light power distribution outside the LED. During the process of ray tracing, the textured surface was treated as a special material interface whose reflectivity, transmittance and refraction angle are obtained with a Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method instead of using the usual Fresnel formulas for normal material interfaces. By comparing the ray tracing results with and without the textured surface, we found that the textured surface yields a smoother transmitted power distribution and greatly improved power extraction efficiency, which are comparable to experiment. These effects may be further improved by optimizing the texture geometry.  相似文献

Clessidra (hour‐glass) X‐ray lenses have an overall shape of an old hour glass, in which two opposing larger triangular prisms are formed of smaller identical prisms or prism‐like objects. In these lenses, absorbing and otherwise optically inactive material was removed with a material‐removal strategy similar to that used by Fresnel in the lighthouse lens construction. It is verified that when the single prism rows are incoherently illuminated they can be operated as independent micro‐lenses with coinciding image positions for efficient X‐ray beam concentration. Experimental data for the line width and the refraction efficiency in one‐dimensional focusing are consistent with the expectations. Imperfections in the structures produced by state‐of‐the‐art deep X‐ray lithography directed only 35% of the incident intensity away from the image and widened it by just 10% to 125 µm. An array of micro‐lenses with easily feasible prism sizes is proposed as an efficient retrofit for the refocusing optics in an existing beamline, where it would provide seven‐fold flux enhancement.  相似文献

Specific features of light refraction on the surface of plates of uniaxial crystals are considered. A method of calculating birefringence in the protection crystalline windows under oblique incidence is developed. A problem in fundamental 2 × 2 ray matrix for refraction at curved interface proposed by A. E. Siegman was found out and a novel one was derived in this paper. An experiment is introduced in detail to verify the reasonability of the novel ray matrix. Using the novel 2 × 2 ray matrix, augmented 5 × 5 ray matrix of refraction at misaligned curved interface between media of different refractive indices was deduced. With the refraction matrix, it is easy to characterize the effect of an astigmatic thick lens. The augmented ray matrix approach was applied to model and estimate the performance of an optical alignment system. Utilizing these matrices, one can readily design and evaluate optical systems, where contain astigmatic elements such as tilted spherical or cylindrical lenses, mirrors and so on. These results are also useful for cavity design, alignment, ray tracing and beam position control in 3D optical systems.  相似文献

Internal or external conical refractions are strange optical phenomena appearing in biaxial crystal. In this paper the analysis of internal conical refraction is derived using the ray tracing formulas for the biaxial crystals, after explaining the theory of the ray tracing for the biaxial or uniaxial crystals. The double rings of conical refraction are also investigated; these are affected by the polarization state or angular intensity distributions of the incident light beam causing conical refraction.  相似文献

The employment of synchrotron radiation for refraction topography of materials has considerable advantages over standard x‐ray sources. The much higher beam intensity and the parallel and monochromatic radiation provide faster measurements and better angular and spatial resolution. X‐ray refraction techniques image the inner surface and interface concentration of micro‐structured materials. This effect of x‐ray optics is additional to small‐angle scattering by diffraction, when the scattering objects reach micrometre dimensions. We have developed x‐ray refraction techniques within the last decade in order to meet the growing demands for improved non‐destructive characterization of high‐performance composites, ceramics and other low‐density materials. Sub‐micron particle dimensions, the pore size of ceramics, the crack density distribution and single fibre debonding within damaged composites can be measured and visualized by computer‐generated interface topographs. For this purpose investigations are now being performed at the new hard x‐ray beamline of the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) at BESSY, Berlin. This BAMline provides monochromatic radiation of photon energies from 5 to 60 keV from a double multilayer and/or a double‐crystal monochromator. A separate instrument is dedicated to the further development and application of synchrotron radiation refraction (SRR) topography. Different from conventional small‐angle scattering cameras with collimating slits and pinholes, scattering angles down to a few seconds of arc are selected by a single‐crystal analyser, similar to a Bonse–Hart diffractometer. A 20 µm spatial resolution of the scattering micro‐structures is achieved by a CCD camera with a fluorescent converter. First SRR topographs of aircraft composites [carbon fibre‐reinforced plastics (CFRP), carbon fibre‐reinforced ceramics (C/C), metal matrix ceramics (MMC)] will be reported. Here, soft X‐ray synchrotron radiation transmitted through microchannel plates is studied experimentally. Fine structures of reflection and XANES Si L‐edge spectra detected on the exit of silicon glass microcapillary structures under conditions of total X‐ray reflection are presented and analyzed. The phenomenon of the interaction of channeling radiation with unoccupied electronic states and propagation of X‐ray fluorescence excited in the microchannels is revealed. Investigations of the interaction of monochromatic radiation with the inner‐shell capillary surface and propagation of fluorescence radiation through hollow glass capillary waveguides contribute to the development of novel X‐ray focusing devices in the future.  相似文献

Birefringence production of light by natural birefringent crystal has long been studied and well understood. Here, we develop a simple and comprehensive rigorous electromagnetic theory that allows one to build up the complete picture about the optics of crystals in a friendly way. This theory not only yields the well-known refraction angle and index of ellipse for birefringence crystal, but also discloses many relevant physical and optical quantities that are rarely studied and less understood. We obtain the reflection and transmission coefficient for amplitude and intensity of light at the crystal surface under a given incident angle and show the electromagnetic field distribution within the crystal. We derive the wavefront and energy flux refraction angle of light and the corresponding phase and ray refractive index. We find big difference between them, where the phase refractive index satisfies the classical index of ellipse and Snell's law, while the ray refractive index does not. Moreover, we disclose the explicit expressions for the zero-reflection Brewster angle and the critical angle for total internal reflection. For better concept demonstration, we take a weak birefringent crystal of lithium niobate and a strong birefringent crystal tellurium as examples and perform simple theoretical calculations. In addition, we perform experimental measurement upon z-cut lithium niobate plate and find excellent agreement between theory and experiment in regard to the Brewster angle. Our theoretical and experimental results can help to construct a clear and complete picture about light transport characteristics in birefringent crystals, and may greatly facilitate people to find rigorous solution to many light-matter interaction processes happening within birefringent crystals, e.g., nonlinear optical interactions, with electromagnetic theory.  相似文献
