Excitation functions for the production of eight radioactive products of the reactions of 7Li on 56Fe have been measured up to E(7 Li) = 89 MeV. Recoil range distributions for these products, together with inclusive proton, deuteron, triton and alpha spectra, have been measured at energies of 50 and 68 MeV. The α, t and d spectra show characteristic “break-up” components at forward angles, while the recoil distributions show evidence of complete fusion and incomplete-fusion process 56Fe( 7Li,α) 59Co * . A parallel study on 55Mn shows some evidences of the ( 7Li,t) incomplete-fusion process, but the cross-section for this process is significantly less than for the triton fusion process. The recoil distributions can be reproduced on the assumption that essentially all the observed break-up fragments are in fact associated with incomplete fusion, but uncertainties in normalisation leave open the possibility of a significant contribution of pure break-up. A diffraction model of the ( 7Li,α) transfer process reproduces the observed break-up α spectra with some success. Received: 29 March 2001 / Accepted: 12 November 2001  相似文献

Partial-fusion cross-sections for the systems 6Li + 208Pb, 9Be + 209Bi have been determined. The effect of breakup on fusion for weakly bound projectiles 6Li and 9Be incident on 208Pb or 209Bi targets has been discussed comparing experimental fusion cross-section excitation functions to those evaluated with a semi-classical approach. It is shown that complete fusion of a weakly bound projectile with heavy target is reduced, whereas the breakup process has very little influence on the total-fusion cross-section for some of the studied systems at energies above the Coulomb barrier.  相似文献

We have measured the dissociation of 8B in the Coulomb field of 208Pb at Ein=51.9 MeV/nucleon and extracted the cross section of the 7Be(p,γ)8B reaction at 0.4 ≤ Erel≤ 3 MeV, which is of importance for the 8B solar-neutrino production rate. The extracted astrophysical S17 factors are consistent with our earlier Coulomb dissociation measurement, and agree with the values deduced from the direct capture measurements by Filippone et al., Vaughn et al. and Hammache et al. The S factor at zero energy was extracted to be 18.9±1.8 eV-b with the help of theoretical energy-dependence. Received: 15 August 1998  相似文献

Prompt and delayed γ-rays in nuclei of the 208Pb region produced in 450 MeV 76Ge +208Pb collisions have been studied at GASP. Using the framework of the coupled reaction channels (CRC) the elastic scattering and the elastic transfer in the system 6He + 4He measured at E = 151 MeV have been analysed. It is shown that the structure observed in the backward range of the angular distributions is influenced by the interference of the elastic 2n-transfer with a two-step process passing through the 2+ excitation in 6He. The two-neutron transfer mechanism is studied in the microscopic approach and it is found that for the ground-state transition the one step dominates by a factor 10 over the two-step mechanism at this energy. Elastic scattering and inclusive breakup of 6Li particles on 12C, 58Ni, 90Zr, and 208Pb targets are measured at 100A MeV. The elastic scattering data are compared with single channel and Coupled Discretized Continuum Channels calculations. The coupling-effect between the elastic and the breakup channels is important even at an incident energy of 100A MeV and cannot be neglected. The inclusive breakup data are investigated for orbital dispersion effects which are found to be less significant at 100A MeV. High-spin states in 112Pd were studied using prompt γ-ray spectroscopy with Gammasphere following heavy-ion-induced fission in the reaction 18O + 208Pb at 91 MeV. A new 8+ level at 2638 keV was discovered with transitions connecting it to the yrast band and the quasi-gamma band. The three, now established, closely spaced 8+ states indicate a mixing between the ground-state band, s-band, and quasi-gamma band. Several high-spin structures with likely negative parity have been extended to higher spin and it is proposed that they are based on the νh 11/2(g 7/2 d 5/2) and νh 11/2(s 1/2 d 3/2) configurations. The 9Be and 9B nuclei are investigated in a microscopic three-cluster model involving α + α + n (or α + α + p) configurations. The 8Be (0 + , 2 + ) + n and 5He (3/2 - , 1/2 - ) + α (or mirror) channels are included by taking account of the unstable nature of 8Be and 5He. Spectroscopic properties of 9Be and 9B are analyzed. We show that the 5He + α configurations cannot be neglected to derive accurate results. The 9Be(γ,αα)n photodisintegration cross-section is shown to be mainly determined by 8Be + n channels at low energies, but 5He + α channels become important beyond E γ≈ 4 MeV. The available astrophysical S(E) factor data for the reaction 7Li (p,α)α at 10 < E < 1000keV exhibit an exponential increase at low energies due to the effects of electron screening. A parametrisation of the data using a non-resonant, direct process and two subthreshold resonances reproduces the data at energies E≥ 100keV, while at lower energies this calculated S b(E) factor curve for bare nuclides drops below the data, which in turn represent the case of electron-shielded nuclides, i.e. the electron-shielded S s(E) factor. The comparison between S b(E) and S s(E) leads to an electron-screening potential energy U e = 350eV, which is much higher than the adiabatic limit of 175eV and not understood at present. The deduced value of S b(0) is considerably smaller than the previously adopted value of 59keV b, significantly increasing the calculated abundance of 7Li in big-bang nucleosynthesis. The Trojan-horse method was applied to the reaction 7Li (p,α)α to determine the energy dependence of the S b(E) factor for 10 < E < 370keV, free from the effects of the Coulomb barrier and electron screening. The THM results are close to the calculated S b(E) curve and suggest that the THM may become a powerful way to obtain improved information on low-energy cross-sections and associated electron-screening effects in a model-independent way. Full finite-range macroscopic calculations in the distorted-wave Born approximation have been performed using the molecular and Michel α-nucleus potentials to analyze the angular distributions of cross-sections of the 27Al(α, d)29Si reaction, at 26.5 and 27.2 MeV incident energies, leading to seven transitions up to the excitation energy E X = 4.08 MeV of the final nucleus. The parameters of the two types of the α-nucleus potentials are determined from the elastic-scattering data. Both the molecular and Michel potentials, without any adjustment to the parameters needed to fit the elastic-scattering data, are able in most cases to reproduce, simultaneously, the absolute cross-sections particularly at large angles, where the previous calculations failed to reproduce by orders of magnitude, and the gross pattern of angular distributions of the reaction. The deuteron-cluster spectroscopic factors for most of the seven transitions, deduced using the two α-27Al potentials, differ from those obtained in earlier works. The spectroscopic factor for the ground-state transition, deduced in the present work for the 25.8 MeV data, agrees well with the shell model prediction. The 7Li + 11B reaction has been investigated in the energy range 5.5 MeV < E lab < 19MeV, by detecting γ-ray resulting from the de-excitation of evaporation residues. Statistical compound-nucleus calculations have been performed in order to extract both the cross-sections of individual exit channels and the fusion cross-section of the system. The total angular momentum that the compoundn ucleus 18O can support has been deduced and is seen to exhibit saturation for a limiting value of 8.5ħ at the high-energy extreme. The results are discussed in terms of the entrance channel and statistical yrast line limitations.  相似文献

High-spin states of 24Mg produced in the 16O + 12C interaction and decaying into the 16Og.s. + 8Beg.s. channel have been observed in the excitation region between 35 and 52 MeV. Spins have been assigned on the basis of the analysis of the measured angular correlations. Some of these states with positive parity correspond to the known resonances of the 12C( 12C, 8Beg.s.) 16O reaction belonging to the 16O-2α rotational band of 24Mg. Moreover other resonances show up at higher excitation energy with an energy-spin relationship again suggesting a 16O-2α cluster structure for the associated configuration. The Kα and Kβ X-ray fluorescence cross-sections for the bromide and the iodide compounds were measured by a high-resolution Si(Li) X-ray detector. The vacancies were produced by heavily filtered 241Am gamma rays. We found that Kα and Kβ X-ray fluorescence cross-sections are changed by chemical effect for different Br and I compounds. Collisional damping widths of giant monopole and quadrupole excitations for 120Sn and 208Pb at zero and finite temperatures are calculated within Thomas-Fermi approximation by employing the microscopic in-medium cross-sections of Li and Machleidt and the phenomenological Skyrme and Gogny forces, and are compared with each other. The results for the collisional widths of giant monopole and quadrupole vibrations at zero temperature as a function of the mass number show that the collisional damping of giant monopole vibrations accounts for about 30 - 40% of the observed widths at zero temperature, while for giant quadrupole vibrations it accounts for only 20 - 30% of the observed widths at zero temperature. Elastic scattering angular distributions have been measured for 7Be + 9Be system at Elab = 17, 19 and 21 MeV in the angular range θcm=26–58°, and for 7Li + 9Be system at Elab= 15.75, 24 and 30 MeV. An optical model (OM) analysis of these data have been carried out. For the 7Li + 9Be system fusion cross sections were obtained at Elab = 15.75, 24 and 30 MeV by measuring the α-evaporation spectra from the compound nucleus at backward angles. The measured α-evaporation spectra were reproduced by the statistical model calculations and fusion cross sections were extracted therefrom. The ratios of the experimental fusion cross sections to the total reaction cross sections (obtained form OM analysis) were found to be rather small. This result suggests that break-up process has a strong influence on fusion process leading to a reduction in fusion cross section.  相似文献

Differential cross-sections for the reactions d (γ,π0)d and d (γ,π0)pn have been measured at MAMI with the TAPS detector setup in the energy range 140 MeV < E γ < 306 MeV. By use of the Glasgow tagging spectrometer an 0.8 MeV energy resolution for photons incident on the target was achieved. The π0 missing energy resolution was sufficient for a reliable separation of coherent and incoherent channels. The data for the break-up channel exhibit very strong final state interaction effects, whereas the observed angular dependence of the inclusive process d (γ,π0)X is in quantitative agreement with predictions for a quasi-free process. The observed absolute d (γ,π0)X cross-sections, on the other hand, are significantly smaller than predicted by the quasi-free process for E γ >∼ 250 MeV. Associating this failure with the π0 photoproduction on the neutron would suggest that its cross-section is up to 25% below the presently believed value. We present the results of a Doppler-shift correction to the measured e+e–sum-energy spectra obtained from e+e–coincidence measurements in 238U +206Pb and 238U +181Ta collisions at beam energies close to the Coulomb barrier, using an improved experimental setup at the double-Orange spectrometer of GSI. Internal-Pair-Conversion (IPC) e+e pairs from discrete nuclear transitions of a moving emitter have been observed following Coulomb excitation of the 1.844 MeV (E1) transition in 206Pb and neutron transfer to the 1.770 MeV (M1) transition in 207Pb. In the collision system 238U +181Ta, IPC transitions were observed from the Ta-like as well as from the U-like nuclei. In all systems the Doppler-shift corrected e+e–sum-energy spectra show weak lines at the energies expected from the corresponding γ–ray spectra with cross sections being consistent with the measured excitation cross sections of the γ lines and the theoretically predicted IPC coefficients. No other than IPC e+e–sum-energy lines were found in the measured spectra. The transfer cross sections show a strong dependence on the distance of closest approach (Rmin), thus signaling also a strong dependence on the bombarding energy close to the Coulomb barrier. High-spin states in 208Pb have been studied by γ-ray-spectroscopy methods in deep inelastic reactions induced by beams of 208Pb, 136Xe and 76Ge beams on a thick 208Pb target. The 11+ 2 state and new γ-transitions between the one-particle one-hole states of highest spin have been found and electromagnetic matrix elements verified. High-spin states of two-particle two-hole structure have been detected for the first time. We present the recent experimental results on the 6He structure studied by the 6Li(t, 3He)6He reaction at 336 MeV. Above the conspicuous peaks for ground and first excited states for 6He, we have observed a broad structures at E x∼ 5 MeV, and E x∼ 15 MeV. The angular distribution of this structure exhibits the dominance of a ΔL = 1 transition, indicating the existence of intruder dipole states at low excitation energies in 6He. The α-particle emission from the 28Si+170Er fusion-evaporation reaction at 165 and 185 MeV has been measured and compared with published data relative to the pre-scission emission in the same reaction. The spectra in the two channels exhibit nearly the same shape in the low energy region, whereas in the high energy region the spectrum for the fusion-evaporation case features a larger apparent temperature. The interpretation of the difference in shape between the two decay channels is based on statistical model calculations which account for the effects due to the different length of the decay chain. Statistical model calculations with standard parameters describe well the gross features of the alpha particle spectra in the fusion-evaporation channel and the proton spectra in the pre-scission channel. On the contrary, the model predictions seem to overestimate by ≃2 MeV the emission barrier for the alpha particles in the pre-fission channel. This effect is ascribed to the larger elongation of the nucleus during the fission process. An average axis ratio b/a∼ 2 for the emitter is suggested.
