A micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatographic (MEKC) procedure has been developed for the separation and determination of dioxouranium (VI), iron(III), copper(II), and nickel(II) using bis(salicylaldehyde)propylenediimine (H2SA2Pn) as chelating reagent with a total run time of <3 min. Sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) was used as micellar medium at pH 8.1 with sodium tetraborate buffer (0.1 M). Uncoated fused silica capillary with effective length 38.8 cmx75 microm id was used with an applied voltage of 30 kV and photo-diode array detection at 228 nm. Linear calibrations were established within 0.045-1000 microg/mL of each element with detection limit within 15-122 ng/mL. The method was applied to the analysis of spring water and rock samples. The presence of uranium in rock and spring water samples was established within 1.58-1739.3 microg/g and 0.047-0.712 microg/mL with relative standard deviation within 0.9-2.1% and 1.3-2.6% respectively. Uranium ore and water samples were also assayed by the standard addition technique. Recovery of uranium was >98% with RSD up to 2.7%. Copper, nickel, and iron in their combined matrix were concurrently determined within RSD 0.6-3.6% (n=5) and the results obtained were compared with those of flame AAS.  相似文献

An RP-HPLC method for the separation and determination of aluminium(III), vanadium(V), iron(III), copper(II) and nickel(II) with CALKS (Chromazol KS) and PAR ([4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol]) chelating on a YWG-ODS column was developed. A mixture of methanol-tetrahydrofuran(THF)-water (60:5:35 v/v) containing 0.2 mol/L LiCl, 5 x 10(-5) mol/L CALKS, 5 x 10(-5) mol/L PAR and acetate buffer solution (pH 4.9) was selected as mobile phase. The method has high sensitivity, with the detection limits being 6 ng/mL for aluminium(III), 3.5 ng/mL for vanadium(V), 10.4 ng/mL for iron(III), 6.3 ng/mL for copper(II) and 8.7 ng/mL for nickel(II). It also has good selectivity, so that most foreign metal ions do not interfere under the optimum conditions. The method can be applied to the simultaneous determination of trace amounts of aluminium, vanadium, iron, copper and nickel in rice and flour samples.  相似文献

The complexing reagent 2-thiophenaldehyde-4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazone (TAPT) was examined for high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) separations of cobalt(II), copper(II) and iron(II) or cobalt(II), nickel(II), iron(II), copper(II) and mercury(II) as metal chelates on a Microsorb C-18, 5-mum column (150x4.6 mm i.d.) (Rainin Instruments Woburn, MA, USA). The complexes were eluted isocratically with methanol:acetonitrile:water containing sodium acetate and tetrabutyl ammonium bromide (TBA). UV detection was at 254 nm. The solvent extraction procedure was developed for simultaneous determination of the metals, with detection limits within 0.5-2.5 mug ml(-1) in the final solution. The method was applied for the determination of copper, cobalt and iron in pharmaceutical preparation.  相似文献

A reversed phase ion-paired chromatographic method that can be used to determine trace amounts of iron (II,III), nickel (II) and copper (II) was developed and applied to the determination of iron (II) and iron (III) levels in natural water. The separation of these metal ions as their 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (bathophenanthroline) chelates on an Inertsil ODS column was investigated by using acetonitrile-water (80/20, v/v) containing 0.06 M perchloric acid as mobile phase and diode array spectrophotometric detection at 250-650 nm. Chromatographic parameters such as composition of mobile phase and concentration of perchloric acid in mobile phase were optimized. The calibration graphs of iron (II), nickel (II) and copper (II) ions were linear (r > 0.991) in the concentration range 0-0.5, 0-2.0 and 0-4.0 mug ml(-1), respectively. The detection limit of iron (II), nickel (II) and copper (II) were 2.67, 5.42 and 18.2 ng ml(-1) with relative standard deviation (n = 5) of 3.11, 5.81 and 7.16% at a concentration level of 10 ng ml(-1) for iron (II) and nickel (II) and 25 ng ml(-1) for copper (II), respectively. The proposed method was applied to the determination of iron(II) and iron(III) in tap water and sea water samples without any interference from other common metal ions.  相似文献

Capillary GC and HPLC of metal chelates of pentamethylene dithiocarbamate were examined. Copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(III), iron(III), manganese(II) and chromium(III) chelates formed in slightly acidic media (pH 5) were extracted in methyl isobutyl ketone or chloroform. Capillary GC elution and separation was carried out on methylsilicone DB-1 column (25 m x 0.2 mm I.D.) with film thickness 0.25 microm. Electron-capture detection was used. Elution was carried at initial column temperature 200 degrees C with an increment at a rate of 5 degrees C/min up to 250 degrees C and maximum temperature was maintained for 10 min. Symmetrical peaks with baseline separation were obtained with the metal chelates investigated with linear calibration range between 5 and 25 microg/ml for each metal ion and detection limits in the range of 0.5-6.0 microg/ml corresponding to 27-333 pg of metal ion reaching to the detector. HPLC separation was carried out from LiChrosorb ODS, 5 microm column and complexes eluted with methanol-water-1 mM sodium acetate (70:28:2, v/v) with a flow-rate of 1.2 ml/ml. UV detection was at 260 nm. The detection limits obtained were in the range 2-6 microg/ml. The methods were applied to the determination of metal ions in canal water and coal samples with RSD values within 4.15%. The results when compared with a standard flame atomic absorption spectrophotometric method and revealed no significant difference.  相似文献

The usefulness of coprecipitation with lanthanum phosphate for separation and preconcentration of some heavy metals has been investigated. Although lanthanum phosphate coprecipitates iron(III) and lead quantitatively at pH 2.3, iron(II) can barely be collected at this pH. This coprecipitation technique was applicable to the separation and preconcentration of iron(III) before inductively coupled plasma atomic-emission spectrometric (ICP-AES) determination; the recoveries of iron(III) and iron(II) from spiked water samples were 103-105% and 0.2-0.7%, respectively. The coprecipitation was also useful for separation of 20 microg lead from 100 mL of an aqueous solution that also contained 1-100 mg iron. Coprecipitation of iron was substantially suppressed by addition of ascorbic acid, which enabled recovery of 97-103% of lead added to the solution, bringing the recovery to within 1.6-5.0% of the relative standard deviations. Lanthanum phosphate can also coprecipitate cadmium and indium quantitatively, although chromium(III), cobalt, and nickel and large amounts of sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium are barely coprecipitated at pH approximately/= 3.  相似文献

Hybrid particles containing different hydrophilic metal salts such as tetrafluoroborates of iron(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), and zinc(II), and nitrates of cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II), and iron(III), and cobalt(II) chloride were synthesized via inverse miniemulsion polymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA). All salts delivered narrowly size-distributed hybrid particles with the exception of iron(III), where only the nitrate salt could be successfully employed. The size and size distribution of the hybrid particles were characterized by dynamic light scattering (DLS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The particle morphology and the distribution of salt in the dried particles were observed by TEM. The influences of the type of metal salts and salt content on the particle size distribution were extensively investigated.  相似文献

A new series of oxovanadium(IV), chromium(III), manganese(II), iron(III), cobalt(II), nickel(II), and copper(II) complexes of the 3-hydrazino quinoxaline-2-one (HQO) were prepared and characterized. The ligand exhibits biambidenticity. It behaves as a bidentate ON donor in oxovanadium(IV), iron(III) and copper(II) complexes and as a bis bidentate ONNN donor in chromium(III), manganese(II), cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes. The nature of bonding and the stereochemistry of the complexes have been deduced from elemental analyses, thermal, infrared, 1H NMR, electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. An octahedral geometry was suggested for all the complexes. All the complexes show subnormal magnetic moments. The ligand, HQO, and its complexes were tested against one strain Gram +ve bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus), Gram −ve bacteria (Escherichia coli). The prepared metal complexes exhibited higher antimicrobial activities than the parent ligand.  相似文献

Summary Complexes of furan and thiophene azo-oximes with iron(II), cobalt(III), nickel(II) and copper(II) have been prepared and characterised. Iron(II), cobalt(III) and copper(II) complexes are diamagnetic in the solid state. The diamagnetism of the copper(II) chelates is suggestive of antiferromagnetic interaction between two copper centres.1H n.m.r. spectral data suggest atrans-octahedral geometry for the tris-chelates of cobalt(III). Nickel(II) complexes are paramagnetic, in contrast to the diamagnetism of the analogous complexes of arylazooximes. The electronic spectra are suggestive of octahedral geometry for the iron(II), cobalt(III) and nickel(II) complexes, andD 4h -symmetry for copper(II). Infrared data indicate N-bonding of the oximino-group to the metal ions.  相似文献

Salicylidene-N-anilinoacetohydrazone (H(2)L(1)) and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthylidene-N-anilinoacetohydrazone (H(2)L(2)) and their iron(III), manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes have been synthesized and characterized by IR, electronic spectra, molar conductivities, magnetic susceptibilities and ESR. Mononuclear complexes are formed with molar ratios of 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 (M:L). The IR studies reveal various modes of chelation. The electronic absorption spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements show that the iron(III), nickel(II) and cobalt(II) complexes of H(2)L(1) have octahedral geometry. While the cobalt(II) complexes of H(2)L(2) were separated as tetrahedral structure. The copper(II) complexes have square planar stereochemistry. The ESR parameters of the copper(II) complexes at room temperature were calculated. The g values for copper(II) complexes proved that the Cu-O and Cu-N bonds are of high covalency.  相似文献

The coprecipitation behavior of 44 elements (47 ions because of chromium(III,VI), arsenic(III,V), and antimony(III,V)) with yttrium phosphate was investigated at various pHs. Yttrium phosphate could quantitatively coprecipitate iron(III), lead, bismuth, and indium over a wide pH range; however, 18 ions, including alkali metals and oxo anions, such as vanadium(V), chromium(VI), molybdenum(VI), tungsten(VI), germanium(IV), arsenic(III,V), selenium(IV), and tellurium(VI), were scarcely collected. In addition, 19 ions, including cobalt, nickel, and copper(II), were hardly coprecipitated at pHs below about 3. Based on these results, the separation of iron(III), lead, and bismuth from cobalt, nickel, and copper(II) matrices was investigated. Iron(III), lead, and bismuth ranging from 0.5 to 25 μg could be separated effectively from a solution containing 0.5 g of cobalt, nickel, or copper at pH 3.0. The separated iron(III), lead, and bismuth could be determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry using internal standardization. The detection limits (3σ, n = 7) of iron(III), lead, and bismuth were 0.008, 0.137, and 0.073 μg, respectively. The proposed method was applied to the analyses of metals and chlorides of cobalt, nickel, and copper.  相似文献

The characteristics and analytical applications of picolinaldehyde 4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazone are described. This compound gives coloured reactions with cobalt(II), iron(II) and (III), nickel(II), copper(II), palladium(II) and other ions, that are much more sensitive than those with picolinaldehyde thiosemicarbazone. The 1:2 yellow cobalt(II) complex has been used for the spectrophotometric determination of cobalt in the presence of iron, and applied to steel analysis.  相似文献

Abstract

A method is developed for simultaneous separation and determination of μg/L levels of Co(II), Cu(II) and Ni(II) in fresh water by precipitate flotation. The optimal conditions of the experimental procedure with hydrated iron(III) oxide and iron(III) tetramethylenedithiocarbamate as collectors were investigated. The pH interval of the working medium, within which Co(II), Cu(II) and Ni(II) can be successfully separated, was determined from the aspect of collectors and surfactant stability. The amounts of the elements investigated were determined by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry. The detection limit of the method is 0.15 μg/L for cobalt, 0.03 μg/L for copper and 0.79 μg/L for nickel.  相似文献

A convenient and efficient method for the estimation of cobalt(II) ions in the presence of other metal ions is described. Interference of metal ions such as iron(II), iron(III), nickel(II), manganese(II), and copper(II) have been investigated. Only iron(III) ions seriously affect this determination. Copper(II) and nickel(II) ions do not interfere if present in a molar-ratio less than 1:2 in the cobalt(II) ion solution. Cobalt(II)-nickel(II) and cobalt(II)-copper(II) binary mixtures can be efficiently analyzed at selective wavelengths.  相似文献

The reagent bis(isovalerylacetone)ethylenediimine(H2IVA2en) has been examined for HPLC separation and UV determination of cobalt, copper, iron and platinum using off-line precolumn derivatization and extraction in chloroform. The complexes of cobalt(II), cobalt(III), iron(II), iron(III) and the reagent have been subsequently separated on a Microsorb C-18 column. The complexes were eluted isocratically using ternary mixtures of methanol/water/acetonitrile. Detection was achieved by UV monitoring. Detection limits for Co(II), Co(III), Fe(II) and Fe(III) were 2.5–5.0 ng/injection, based on 0.5–1.0 g/ml with 5 l/injection. The concentration of cobalt(II) and cobalt(III) in aqueous solution have been determined. The presence of oxovanadium(IV), platinum(II), and nickel(II) did not affect the determinations. The HPLC method developed has been applied to the determination of cobalt, copper, iron and platinum in pharmaceutical preparations at the 30 g/g to 15 mg/g level and the obtained results were compared to those of atomic absorption spectrometry.  相似文献

Poly[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl acrylate] (PDAEA) and polymer complexes of 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl acrylate (DAEA) with nickel(II), copper(II), iron(III) and cobalt(II) chlorides were prepared and characterized by means of IR, electronic spectra and elemental analysis. The thermal stability of the homopolymer was compared with those of the polymer complexes, and the order of stability was given. The activation energies of the polymer complexes were calculated.  相似文献

A spectrophotometric method has been developed for the accurate determination of cobalt at milligram level, based on oxidation of the cobalt(II)-EDTA complex with gold(III) chloride at pH 4.0-6.5 and 100 degrees and measurement of the absorbance of the resultant violet cobalt(III)-EDTA complex at 535 nm. The precision is not affected by the presence of several metal ions; including coloured ones such as Cu(II), Ni(II) and Fe(III). However, chromium(III) interferes since it also forms a violet complex with EDTA, but can be removed by separation with pyridine. Practical application of the method is illustrated by the determination of cobalt in alloys based on iron, cobalt and nickel. Over the cobalt range 8-52% the error ranges from 0.1 to 0.3%.  相似文献

A new chelating ion-exchange resin with a spacer CH2-NH-C6H4- based on a microreticular chloromethylated styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer containing α-nitroso-β-naphthol as a functional group has been synthesized. The sorption characteristics for manganese(II), iron(III), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), and zinc(II) have been investigated over the pH range 1.0–7.0. The resin is highly stable in acidic and alkaline medium. Iron(III) and cobalt(II); copper(II) and iron(III) are separated very effectively in a column operation by stepwise elution.  相似文献

Derivative spectrophotometry has been applied for the elimination of the mutual spectral interferences and the analysis of binary, ternary and quaternary mixtures of complexes of microgram amounts of divalent ions of cobalt, copper, lead, manganese, nickel, zinc and iron with 4-(pyridyl-2-azo)resorcinol (PAR) in the range of 0.05-1 microg/ml (0.2-4 microg/ml for lead). The first derivative spectra can be used for the determination of both components in the majority of binary mixtures except of Cu(II) and Co(II) and systems containing Fe(II). The second and the third derivative spectra allow to determine one constituent in some ternary and quaternary mixtures.  相似文献
