Let B be a nilpotent matrix and suppose that its Jordan canonical form is determined by a partition λ. Then it is known that its nilpotent commutator is an irreducible variety and that there is a unique partition μ such that the intersection of the orbit of nilpotent matrices corresponding to μ with is dense in . We prove that map given by is an idempotent map. This answers a question of Basili and Iarrobino [9] and gives a partial answer to a question of Panyushev [18]. In the proof, we use the fact that for a generic matrix the algebra generated by A and B is a Gorenstein algebra. Thus, a generic pair of commuting nilpotent matrices generates a Gorenstein algebra. We present variants of the block-GMRES() algorithms due to Vital and the block-LGMRES(,) by Baker, Dennis and Jessup, obtained with replacing the standard QR factorization by a rank-revealing QR factorization in the Arnoldi process. The resulting algorithm allows for dynamic block deflation whenever there is a linear dependency between the Krylov vectors or the convergence of a right-hand-side occurs. implementations of the algorithms were tested on a number of test matrices and the results show that in some cases a substantial reduction of the execution time is obtained. Also a parallel implementation of our variant of the block-GMRES() algorithm, using and was tested on parallel computer, showing good parallel efficiency. Given a finite group G and a natural number n, we study the structure of the complex of nested sets of the associated Dowling lattice (Proc. Internat. Sympos., 1971, pp. 101–115) and of its subposet of the G-symmetric partitions which was recently introduced by Hultman (, 2006), together with the complex of G-symmetric phylogenetic trees . Hultman shows that the complexes and are homotopy equivalent and Cohen–Macaulay, and determines the rank of their top homology. An application of the theory of building sets and nested set complexes by Feichtner and Kozlov (Selecta Math. (N.S.) 10, 37–60, 2004) shows that in fact is subdivided by the order complex of . We introduce the complex of Dowling trees and prove that it is subdivided by the order complex of . Application of a theorem of Feichtner and Sturmfels (Port. Math. (N.S.) 62, 437–468, 2005) shows that, as a simplicial complex, is in fact isomorphic to the Bergman complex of the associated Dowling geometry. Topologically, we prove that is obtained from by successive coning over certain subcomplexes. It is well known that is shellable, and of the same dimension as . We explicitly and independently calculate how many homology spheres are added in passing from to . Comparison with work of Gottlieb and Wachs (Adv. Appl. Math. 24(4), 301–336, 2000) shows that is intimely related to the representation theory of the top homology of . In [2] the subconstruct of sober approach spaces was introduced and it was shown to be a reflective subconstruct of the category of approach spaces. The main result of this paper states that moreover is firmly -reflective in for the class of epimorphic embeddings. ‘Firm -reflective’ is a notion introduced in [3] by G.C.L. Brümmer and E. Giuli and is inspired by the exemplary behaviour of the usual completion in the category of Hausdorff uniform spaces with uniformly continuous maps. It means that is -reflective in and that the reflector is such that belongs to if and only if is an isomorphism. Firm -reflectiveness implies uniqueness of completion in the sense that whenever is a map with and sober, the associated is an isomorphism. Our result generalizes the fact that in the category the subconstruct of sober topological spaces is firmly reflective for the class of b-dense embeddings in . In this paper, we establish Schur–Weyl reciprocity between the quantum general super Lie algebra and the Iwahori–Hecke algebra . We introduce the sign -permutation representation of on the tensor space of dimensional -graded -vector space . This action commutes with that of derived from the vector representation on . Those two subalgebras of satisfy Schur–Weyl reciprocity. As special cases, we obtain the super case (), and the quantum case (). In this paper, we study and classify Hilbert space representations of cross product -algebras of the quantized enveloping algebra with the coordinate algebras of the quantum motion group and of the complex plane, and of the quantized enveloping algebra with the coordinate algebras of the quantum group and of the quantum disc. Pseudoframes for subspaces (PFFS) is a notion of frame-like expansions for a subspace in a separable Hilbert space [11]. The spanning nature of the sequences and in a PFFS (relative to the subspace ) is generally very different from that of a frame. Incidentally, a PFFS constitutes generally a nonorthogonal projections onto . The directions of the projection determine the geometric meanings and its applications of a PFFS. PFFS also provides a means for the construction of nonorthogonal projections that arises in various linear reconstruction problems. This article is aimed at elaborations on such geometrical properties, demonstration of natural needs of nonorthogonal projections in applications and how PFFS can be applied, particularly for optimal noise suppressions. In this specific application, we show that PFFS is not only natural and sufficient but also necessary for generating an optimal solution among the class of all linear and series-based methods.   相似文献

In this paper we establish results on the existence of nontangential limits for weighted -harmonic functions in the weighted Sobolev space , for some q>1 and w in the Muckenhoupt A q class, where is the unit ball in . These results generalize the ones in Sect. 3 of Koskela et al., Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 348(2), 755–766, 1996, where the weight was identically equal to one. Weighted -harmonic functions are weak solutions of the partial differential equation
where for some fixed q∈(1,∞), where 0<αβ<∞, and w(x) is a q-admissible weight as in Chap. 1 of Heinonen et al., Nonlinear Potential Theory, 2006. Later, we apply these results to improve on results of Koskela et al., Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 348(2), 755–766, 1996 and Martio and Srebro, Math. Scand. 85, 49–70, 1999 on the existence of radial limits for bounded quasiregular mappings in the unit ball of with some growth restriction on their multiplicity function.   相似文献

Two integrals (3.6), (4.7) for the period of a periodic solution of the Lotka–Volterra system are presented in terms of two inverse functions of restricted on , , respectively. In computing this period numerically, the integral (3.6), which possesses a weak singularity of the square root type at each endpoint of the integration, is an excellent example of using the Gauss–Chebyshev integration rule of the first kind; while the integral (4.7), which is an integral of a smooth periodic function over its period , is an excellent example of using the midpoint rule, but not the trapezoidal rule, suggested by Waldvogel [39, 40], due to a removable singularity of the integrand at , , , , and , respectively. This paper shows, in computing the period of a periodic solution of the Lotka–Volterra system, the -point Gauss–Chebyshev integration rule of the first kind applied to the integral (3.6) becomes the -point midpoint rule to the integral (4.7). The aim of this paper is to give some representation formulas of Riesz and Poisson-Jensen type for super-solutions to a class of hypoelliptic ultraparabolic operators on a homogeneous Lie group . Our results complete the ones obtained in Cinti (Math Scand 100:1–21, 2007). We also provide a suitable theory for -Green functions and for -Green potentials of Radon measures. Let be the homogeneous tree with degree q + 1 ≥ 3 and a finitely generated group whose Cayley graph is . The associated lamplighter group is the wreath product , where is a finite group. For a large class of random walks on this group, we prove almost sure convergence to a natural geometric boundary. If the probability law governing the random walk has finite first moment, then the probability space formed by this geometric boundary together with the limit distribution of the random walk is proved to be maximal, that is, the Poisson boundary. We also prove that the Dirichlet problem at infinity is solvable for continuous functions on the active part of the boundary, if the lamplighter “operates at bounded range”. We present formulas for the structure constants (Hall numbers) of the Hall algebra associated to the Kronecker algebra. The formulas which in some cases involve the classical Hall polynomials enable us to determine every Hall number. Using again these formulas we construct new PBW-bases with simple structure constants for the composition algebra , making possible the definition of the generic composition algebra via Hall polynomials.Presented by C. In a topological construct endowed with a proper -factorization system and a concrete functor , we study -compactness and -Hausdorff separation, where is a class of “closed morphisms” in the sense of Clementino et al. (A functional approach to general topology. In: Categorical Foundations. Encyclopedia of Mathematics and Its Applications, vol. 97, pp. 103–163. Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 2004), determined by Λ. In particular, we point out under which conditions on Λ, the notion of -compactness of an object of coincides with 0-compactness of the image in Prap. Our results will be illustrated by some examples: except for some well-known ones, like b-compactness of a topological space, we also capture some compactness notions that were not considered before in the literature. In particular, we obtain a generalization of b-compactness to the setting of approach spaces. This notion is shown to play an important role in the study of uniformizability. By sampling the window of a Gabor frame for belonging to Feichtinger’s algebra, , one obtains a Gabor frame for . In this article we present a survey of results by R. Orr and A.J.E.M. Janssen and extend their ideas to cover interrelations among Gabor frames for the four spaces , , and . Some new results about general dual windows with respect to sampling and periodization are presented as well. This theory is used to show a new result of the Kaiblinger type to construct an approximation to the canonical dual window of a Gabor frame for .   相似文献

Using combinatorics of Young walls, we give a new realization of arbitrary level irreducible highest weight crystals for quantum affine algebras of type , , , , , and . The irreducible highest weight crystals are realized as the affine crystals consisting of reduced proper Young walls. In present paper we define a new kind of weak quantized enveloping algebra of Borcherds superalgebras . It is a noncommutative and noncocommutative weak graded Hopf algebra. Using localizing with some Ore set, we obtain a different kind of quantized enveloping algebras of Borcherds superalgebras . It has a homomorphic image which is isomorphic to the usual quantum enveloping algebra of . Moreover, is isomorphic to a direct sum of and an other algebra as algebras. We study mixed boundary value problems for an elliptic operator on a manifold with boundary , i.e., in on , where is subdivided into subsets with an interface and boundary conditions on that are Shapiro–Lopatinskij elliptic up to from the respective sides. We assume that is a manifold with conical singularity . As an example we consider the Zaremba problem, where is the Laplacian and Dirichlet, Neumann conditions. The problem is treated as a corner boundary value problem near which is the new point and the main difficulty in this paper. Outside the problem belongs to the edge calculus as is shown in Bull. Sci. Math. (to appear).With a mixed problem we associate Fredholm operators in weighted corner Sobolev spaces with double weights, under suitable edge conditions along of trace and potential type. We construct parametrices within the calculus and establish the regularity of solutions.  相似文献

Inspired by the work of Paterson on C * -algebras of directed graphs, we show how to associate a groupoid to an ultragraph in such a way that the C *-algebra of is canonically isomorphic to Tomforde’s C *-algebra . The groupoid is built from an inverse semigroup naturally associated to . A.E. Marrero was supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and the Sloan Foundation and by a GAANN Fellowship. Let be a one-parameter family of positive integral operators on a locally compact space . For a possibly non-uniform partition of define a finite measure on the path space by using a) for the transition between any two consecutive partition times of distance and b) a suitable continuous interpolation scheme (e.g. Brownian bridges or geodesics). If necessary normalize the result to get a probability measure. We prove a version of Chernoff's theorem of semigroup theory and tightness results which yield convergence in law of such measures as the partition gets finer. In particular let be a closed smooth submanifold of a manifold . We prove convergence of Brownian motion on , conditioned to visit at all partition times, to a process on whose law has a density with respect to Brownian motion on which contains scalar, mean and sectional curvatures terms.
