A theory of the nonlinear optical response of an atom interacting with a superposition of arbitrarily polarized fields is developed. The theory is based on the analytical solution of the boundary-value problem for an electron moving in a spherically symmetric intraatomic field and in the field of an external electromagnetic field. By means of the example of an argon atom interacting with a bichromatic field formed by the first and second harmonics of a Ti:sapphire laser, it is shown that, when an atom interacts with the field of two polarized pulses the polarization directions of which are not collinear, the response spectrum significantly depends on the laser radiation parameters—the duration and intensity of pulses, the time of delay between them, and the angle between the directions of polarization vectors. Generation of THz radiation is shown to be possible in the ionization-free regime due to intraatomic nonlinearity.  相似文献

We have deduced analytical solutions of an energy level diagram of the doubly driven/dressed atom for a two-level atom exposed to a strong near-resonant bichromatic laser field in a special case, i.e., the bichromatic field with frequencies ω1 and ω2, and Rabi frequencies ?1 and ?2, in which the first coupling field of ?1 acts on the bare atomic levels, and then the resulting singly dressed states are driven by the second coupling field of ?2, thus resulting in the doubly dressed atom.We have measured the probe absorption spectra of a doubly driven two-level atom. The system consists of 52S1/2, F= 2 and 5~2P_(3/2), F'= 3 states of ~(87)Rb atoms in a magneto-optical trap(MOT) as well as the cooling/trapping beams and an additional coupling field. As for the spectroscopic properties of the doubly driven two-level atom, theoretical analytical solutions are in general agreement with the experimental spectrum as a whole.  相似文献

We study Bessel beams of two-level atoms that are driven by a linearly polarized laser field. Starting from the Schrödinger equation, we determine the states of two-level atoms in a plane-wave field respecting propagation directions both of the atom and the field. For such laser-driven two-level atoms, we construct Bessel beams beyond the typical paraxial approximation. We show that the probability density of these atomic beams obtains a non-trivial, Bessel-squared-type behavior and can be tuned under the special choice of the atom and laser parameters, such as the nuclear charge, atom velocity, laser frequency, and propagation geometry of the atom and laser beams. Moreover, we spatially and temporally characterize the beam of hydrogen and selected (neutral) alkali-metal atoms that carry non-zero orbital angular momentum (OAM). The proposed spatiotemporal Bessel states (i) are able to describe, in principle, twisted states of any two-level system which is driven by the radiation field and (ii) have potential applications in atomic and nuclear processes as well as in quantum communication.  相似文献

Based on the developed kinetic theory of rectified radiative forces, we found sufficient conditions for purely optical (nonmagnetic) three-dimensional confinement and cooling of atoms with the J=0 → J=1 quantum transition in a weak field of mutually orthogonal bichromatic standing waves. We show that a deep stable atom localization of atoms in the cells of an effective light superlattice (with a spacing much larger than the light wavelength) can be achieved by controlling the phase shifts (time-difference phase) of the temporal oscillations in orthogonally polarized field components and by specially choosing the field parameters. The proposed scheme of purely optical confinement can be directly used for a large group of atoms like Yb isotopes and alkali-earth elements with even-even nuclei.  相似文献

We show that the bichromatic phase control of the spontaneous emission spectrum leads to the sub-half-wavelength atom localization. We consider a three-level Λ-type atom interacting with a bichromatic coupling field and a bichromatic probe field with equal frequency difference. One component of the bichromatic coupling field is a standing-wave field with position dependent Rabi frequency. When the spontaneous emitted photons are detected, the atom is localized in either of the two half-wavelength regions with 50% probability by the variation of the difference between the relative phases of the two bichromatic fields.  相似文献

Theoretical results for high-harmonic generation by a two-color elliptically polarized laser field are presented. Special emphasis is placed on coherent radiation near 13 nm in connection with the development of extreme-ultraviolet lithography. Linearly polarized radiation at this wavelength can be obtained with a linearly polarized bichromatic laser field, whereas circularly polarized radiation can be generated with a bichromatic circularly polarized field with counterrotating coplanar components. In both cases the harmonic emission efficiencies at the saturation intensity are more than 1 order of magnitude larger than for harmonic generation with a monochromatic linearly polarized field.  相似文献

通过二阶分裂算符法数值求解了二维含时薛定谔方程,研究了双色反向旋转圆偏振激光场作用下氩原子的高次谐波的产生.研究表明,双色反向旋转圆偏振激光场的幅值比对高次谐波发射的效率有较大影响,当幅值比为1.4时高次谐波的发射效率最高,并应用时频分析方法、经典三步模型以及利萨茹图形等解释了高次谐波发射的物理机制.研究了不同幅值比情况下谐波场的旋转偏振特性,发现对不同频段的谐波谱的电场进行叠加,谐波场的偏振特性随幅值比的不同而发生变化,但谐波场的旋向性与入射激光脉冲的旋向性相同,不受幅值比变化的影响.  相似文献

Feynman’s disentangling theorem is applied to noncommuting operators in the problem of quantum parametric oscillator, which is mathematically equivalent to the problem of SU(1, 1) pseudospin rotation. The number states of the oscillator correspond to unitary irreducible representations of the SU(1, 1) group. Feynman disentangling is combined with group-theoretic arguments to obtain simple analytical formulas for the matrix elements and transition probabilities between the initial and final states of the oscillator. Feynman disentangling of time evolution operators is also discussed for an atom or ion interacting with a laser field and for a model Hamiltonian possessing the “ hidden” symmetry of the hydrogen atom.  相似文献

我们提出利用频率为ω,3ω和强度较弱的2ω组成的三色圆偏振激光组合脉冲驱动氦原子能够得到椭偏率较大的阿秒脉冲链的一种方法.通过强场近似方法,计算了氦原子在两色和三色圆偏振激光组合脉冲驱动下发射高次谐波谱及其合成阿秒脉冲链,比较了氦原子(初态为s态)在这两种情况下发射高次谐波谱的特点及其合成阿秒脉冲链椭偏率的大小,结果发现,在反旋的两色ω,3ω激光脉冲基础上加入了频率为2ω的第三色激光脉冲联合作用到氦原子上,所得到的阿秒脉冲链的椭偏率相对于双圆场情况下有所增加,通过调整ω,3ω激光的强度比,并且选择适当的第三色激光的强度,对初态为s态的原子,仍能够得到具有较大椭偏率的阿秒脉冲链.  相似文献

We studied, strongly correlated states in triangular artificial atoms. Symmetry-driven orbital degeneracy of the single particle states can give rise to an SU(4) Kondo state with entangled orbital and spin degrees of freedom, and a characteristic phase shift δ=π/4. Upon application of a Zeeman field, a purely orbital Kondo state is formed with somewhat smaller Kondo temperature and a fully polarized current through the device. The Kondo temperatures are in the measurable range. The triangular atom also provides a tool to systematically study the singlet-triplet transitions observed in recent experiments [Phys. Rev. Lett., 88 (2002) 126803, cond-mat/0208268 (2002)].  相似文献

Photoelectron angular distributions (PADs) from above-threshold ionization of O2 and N2 molecules irradiated by a bichromatic laser field of circular polarization are studied. The bichromatic laser field is specially modulated such that it can be used to mimic a sequence of one-cycle laser pulses. The PADs are greatly affected by the molecular alignment, the symmetry of the initial electronic distribution, and the carrier-envelope phase of the laser pulses. Generally, the PADs do not show any symmetry, and become symmetric about an axis only when the symmetric axis of laser field coincides with the symmetric axis of molecules. This study shows that the few-cycle laser pulses can be used to steer the photoelectrons and perform the selective ionization of molecules.  相似文献

We theoretically investigate the high-order harmonic generation(HHG) of helium atom driven by bichromatic counterrotating circularly polarized laser fields. By changing the intensity ratio of the two driving laser fields, the spectral chirality of the HHG can be controlled. As the intensity ratio increases, the spectral chirality will change from positive-to negativevalue around a large intensity ratio of the two driving fields when the total laser intensity keeps unchanged. However, the sign of the spectral chirality can be changed from positive to negative around a small intensity ratio of the two driving fields when the total laser intensity changes. At this time, we can effectively control the helicity of the harmonic spectrum and the polarization of the resulting attosecond pulses by adjusting the intensity ratio of the two driving laser fields. As the intensity ratio and the total intensity of the driving laser fields increase, the relative intensity of either the left-circularly or right-circularly polarized harmonic can be enhanced. The attosecond pulses can evolve from being elliptical to near linear correspondingly.  相似文献

The ionization of a hydrogen atom in a linearly polarized low-frequency electromagnetic field is investigated by direct numerical integration of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation. The data obtained for various ionization regimes and various initial atomic states are compared with the Keldysh and Perelomov-Popov-Terent’ev (PPT) theories. The validity ranges for the quasi-static model of tunneling ionization and the PPT theory in laser intensity and frequency are determined. The tunneling ionization of the excited 2s and 2p states is discussed. The ionization of a hydrogen atom in an ultrashort (on the order of one optical period) pulse is investigated.  相似文献

The semi-classical spectrum of the homogeneous sine-Gordon theories associated with an arbitrary compact simple Lie group G is obtained and shown to be entirely given by solitons. These theories describe quantum integrable massive perturbations of Gepner's G-parafermions whose classical equations-of-motion are non-abelian affine Toda equations. One-soliton solutions are constructed by embeddings of the SU(2) complex sine-Gordon soliton in the regular SU(2) subgroups of G. The resulting spectrum exhibits both stable and unstable particles, which is a peculiar feature shared with the spectrum of monopoles and dyons in N = 2 and N = 4 supersymmetric gauge theories.  相似文献

The effective potential of the scalar field in theSU(5) model has extrema with symmetry:SU(5),SU(4)×U(1),SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1),SU(3)×[U(1)]2, [SU(2)]2×[U(1)]2. In our recent paper it was shown that theSU(4)×U(1) phase as well asSU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) phase were stable at the nonzero temperature in a vast region of parameters. In the present paper it is found that the [SU(2)]2×[U(1)]2 symmetric vacuum is unstable and theSU(3)×[U(1)]2 symmetric vacuum can be metastable in the certain interval of the temperature. We investigate the one- and two-dimensional atom localization behaviors via spontaneous emission in a coherently driven five-level atomic system by means of a radio-frequency field driving a hyperfine transition. It is found that the detecting probability and precision of atom localization behaviors can be significantly improved via adjusting the system parameters. More importantly, the two-dimensional atom localization patterns reveal that the maximal probability of finding an atom within the sub-wavelength domain of the standing waves can reach unity when the corresponding conditions are satisfied. As a result, our scheme may be helpful in laser cooling or the atom nano-lithography via atom localization.  相似文献

目前的相干布居囚禁(CPT)原子钟和CPT磁场计中普遍采用圆偏振光方案 (σ+-σ+)实现CPT共振, 该方案对原子的利用率较低. 为了提高原子的利用率, 本文实验研究了通过平行线偏振相干双色光与87Rb原子作用实现CPT共振的方案(lin//lin). 与σ+-σ+方案相比较, lin//lin方案消除了极化暗态, 获得更多工作原子. 在相同的实验条件下, 开展对比实验研究获得了信噪比为σ+-σ+方案2倍, 微分线型信号的中心斜率为σ+-σ+方案1.65倍的CPT共振信号. 研究结果表明该方案是实现低功耗原子钟、磁场计等设备的理想候选.  相似文献

We have made an attempt to describe the octonion formulation of Abelian and non-Abelian gauge theory of dyons in terms of 2×2 Zorn vector matrix realization. As such, we have discussed the U(1) e ×U(1) m Abelian gauge theory and U(1)×SU(2) electroweak gauge theory and also the SU(2) e ×SU(2) m non-Abelian gauge theory in term of 2×2 Zorn vector matrix realization of split octonions. It is shown that SU(2) e characterizes the usual theory of the Yang Mill’s field (isospin or weak interactions) due to presence of electric charge while the gauge group SU(2) m may be related to the existence of ’t Hooft-Polyakov monopole in non-Abelian Gauge theory. Accordingly, we have obtained the manifestly covariant field equations and equations of motion.  相似文献

 We consider the stimulated emission process that occurs at the difference-frequency generation of a bichromatic field interacting with a three-level atom, where one of the laser fields is strong while the other is weak. It is shown that at the difference-frequency generation an induced peak occurs which can exhibit both gain and attenuation.
