Two series of novel liquid crystalline materials were synthesized: 2-(2,3-difluoro-4-alkoxyphenyl)-5-[4-(4-alkylcyclohexyl)phenyl]-1,3-dioxanes (Am-n) and 2-(2,3-difluoro-4-alkylphenyl)-5-[4-(4-alkylcyclohexyl)phenyl]-1,3-dioxanes (Bm-n). Their mesmorphic properties were characterized by polarizing optical microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. All these compounds exhibit broad mesomorphic phases, and most of them show wide smectic C phases and the phase sequence Cr-SmC-SmA-N-I. The relationship between properties and chemical structures is discussed in detail.  相似文献

In this study, a regioselective, simple and versatile copper(I)-catalyzed procedure for preparation of a series of liquid crystals based on unsymmetrical 3,5-disubstituted isoxazole was developed. Using different substituted chloro oximes and phenyl acetylenes, 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction was carried out. A second series containing the isoxazole ring and a triple bond in the rigid core was also synthesized. From the 3-(4-bromophenyl)-5-(4-(decyloxy)phenyl)isoxazole, new liquid-crystalline compounds were prepared by Sonogashira cross-coupling. All of the derivates of the isoxazole ring compounds exhibited mesomorphism. Smectic C, smectic A, and nematic phases were observed by optical microscopy and DSC analysis. The yield of these reactions varied from moderate to excellent (47-93%). The structure of the rigid core was investigated by single crystal X-ray diffraction, which confirmed the regioselectivity of the [3+2] dipolar cycloaddition reaction.  相似文献

New liquid crystal compounds, (+)-4-[5-(2-methylbutyl)-1,3-dioxan-2-yl] phenyl 4-alkoxybenzoates (5), were synthesized. The mesomorphic behaviour of these compounds is compared with that of (+)-4-(5-alkyl-1,3-dioxan-2-yl)-phenyl 4-(2-methylbutoxy)benzoates (6). While compounds 6 exhibited a chiral smectic C phase, the corresponding compounds 5 did not. This might mean that for the appearance of a chiral smectic C phase in these types of compounds, it is necessary that the carbonyl and the chiral groups exist at nearby positions. Transition temperatures to those isotropic state for compounds 5 were lower than those for compounds 6. This result is common in both cases of (+)-4-alkoxycarbonylphenyl-4-[5-(2-methylbutyl)-1,3-dioxan-2-yl]benzoates (7), and (+)-4-(2-methylbutoxy-carbonyl)phenyl 4-(5-alkyl-1,3-dioxan-2-yl)-benzoates (8).  相似文献

Two series of mesogens derived from the non-activated spiropyran dyes 6-hydroxy-1 ,3 ,3- trimethylspiro\[2H -1-benzopyran-2,2-indoline] (series trimethylspiro\[2 H -1-benzopyran-2,2-indoline] (series 2 ) have been synthesized. Analysis by differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing microscopy and X-ray diffraction showed compounds in series 1 form monotropic nematic and SmA phases, while compounds in series 2 form only a monotropic nematic phase.  相似文献

为了寻找新的含噻唑杂环的先导化合物, 利用2-取代-1,3-噻唑烷1与氯甲酸取代苯基酯2及取代苯基甲酰氯4在三乙胺存在下发生缩合反应, 合成了6个2-取代-1,3-噻唑烷-3-甲酸酯类化合物3和5个N-苯甲酰基-2-取代-1,3-噻唑烷类化合物5, 并利用1H NMR, IR, MS, 元素分析对其结构进行了表征. 用X-ray单晶衍射测定了2-硫代-1,3-噻唑烷-3-甲酸苯酯(3d)和N-苯甲酰基-2-氧代-1,3-噻唑烷(5a)的晶体结构, 证实了氯甲酸酯与2-硫代-1,3-噻唑烷的反应产物为硫酮式结构, 而非硫酯式结构. 初步生物活性试验结果表明, 在试验浓度下部分目标化合物35具有一定的杀菌和杀虫活性.  相似文献

In our attempt towards the synthesis and development of effective antimicrobial, anticancer and antioxidant agents, a novel series of 2,3-dihydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-one 7a–e and pyrrolo[2,1-b][1,3]benzothiazoles 9a–e were synthesized. The synthesis of 2-(1,3-benzo thiazol-2-yl)-3-(aryl)prop-2-enenitrile (5a–e) as the key intermediate was accomplished by a microwave efficient method. Via a new variety oriented synthetic microwave pathway, these highly functionalized building blocks allowed access to numerous fused heteroaromatic such as 7-amino-6-(1,3-benzo thiazol-2-yl)-5-(aryl)-2-thioxo-2,3dihydropyrido [2,3-d]pyrimidin-4(1H)-one 7a–e and 1-amino-2-(aryl)pyrrolo[2,1-b][1,3]benzothiazole-3-carbonitrile derivatives 9a–e in order to study their antimicrobial and anticancer activity. The present investigation offers effective and rapid new procedures for the synthesis of the newly polycondensed heterocyclic ring systems. All the newly synthesized compounds were evaluated for antimicrobial, anticancer and antioxidant activity. Compounds 7a,d, and 9a,d showed higher antimicrobial activity than cefotaxime and fluconazole while the remaining compounds exhibited good to moderate activity against bacteria and fungi. An anticancer evaluation of the newly synthesized compounds against the three tumor cell lines (lung cell NCI-H460, liver cancer HepG2 and colon cancer HCT-116) exhibited that compounds 7a, d, and 9a,d have higher cytotoxicity against the three human cell lines compared to doxorubicin as a reference drug. These compounds also exhibited higher antioxidant activity and a great ability to protect DNA from damage induced by bleomycin.  相似文献

Eight homologous series of fluorinated phenyl 4-[(4-n-alkoxyphenyl)ethynyl]benzoates have been synthesized. Textural observations by polarizing microscopy and DSC measurements of the phase transitions show that most of these compounds are thermotropic liquid crystals with nematic and smectic A phases; furthermore, several show monotropic high order smectic phases. The results showed that the SmA phase is enhanced with increasing degree of fluorosubstitution on the para- and meta-positions of the terminal phenyl groups. The mesomorphic properties of these compounds are also affected by the direction of ester bonds. The effect of triple bonds is also discussed.  相似文献

Eight novel three-coordinate boron compounds with the general formula BAr(2)L, in which Ar is mesityl and L is a 7-azaindolyl- or a 2,2'-dipyridylamino-functionalized aryl or thienyl ligand, have been synthesized by Suzuki coupling, Ullmann condensation methods, or simple substitution reactions (L = p-(2,2'-dipyridylamino)phenyl, 1; p-(2,2'-dipyridylamino)biphenyl, 2; p-(7-azaindolyl)phenyl, 3; p-(7-azaindolyl)biphenyl, 4; 3,5-bis(2,2'-dipyridylamino)phenyl, 5; 3,5-bis(7-azaindolyl)phenyl, 6; p-[3,5-bis(2,2'-dipyridylamino)phenyl]phenyl, 7; 5-[p-(2,2'-dipyridylamino)phenyl]-2-thienyl, 8). The structures of 1, 3, and 5-7 have been determined by X-ray diffraction analyses. These new boron compounds are bright blue emitters. Electroluminescent devices using compound 2 or 8 as the emitter and the electron-transport layer have been successfully fabricated. Molecular orbital calculations (Gaussian 98) have established that the blue emission of compounds 1-8 originates from charge transfer between the pi orbital of the ligand L and the p(pi) orbital of the boron center. The ability of these boron compounds to bind to metal centers to form supramolecular assemblies was demonstrated by treatment of compound 2 with Zn(O(2)CCF(3))(2), which generated a 1:1 chelate complex [2.Zn(O(2)CCF(3))(2)] (10), and also by treatment of compound 4 with AgNO(3), yielding a 2:1 coordination compound [(4)(2).Ag(NO(3))] (11). In the solid state, compounds 10 and 11 form interesting head-to-head and tail-to-tail extended structures that host solvent molecules such as benzene.  相似文献

To continue the search for novel series of fluorinated ferroelectric liquid crystals, an additional two series of 4-[(S)-2-methylbutoxy]phenyl 4-[(4-n-alkoxy-2,3,5,6-tetrafluorophenyl)ethynyl] benzoates (C) and 4-(n-alkoxy)phenyl 4-[(4-(S)-2'-methylbutoxy-2,3,5,6-tetrafluorophenyl)] benzoates (D) have been synthesized. Polarizing microscopic textural observations and DSC measurements of the phase transitions of these novel compounds showed that compounds C were liquid crystals with a chiral nematic (N) phase and a monotropic chiral smectic C phase (Sc), and compounds D exhibited a chiral nematic (N) phase.  相似文献

Five novel triazole compounds containing group 1,3-dioxolane were designed and synthesized by taking difenoconazole as the start compound and changing diphenyl ether for benzyl phenyl ether. Their structure swere confirmed by elemental analyses, ^1H NMR and IR spectra. The single crystal structure of 2-[-4-(2,4-dichlorophenylmethoxy] phenyl-2-(1,2,4-triazol-l-yl ) methane-I, 3-dioxolane was determined by means of X-ray diffraction. The preliminary bioassays showed that the synthesized compounds exhibited some activities of fungicides and plant growth regulators.  相似文献

Two new mesogenic homologous series, each containing 1,3,5-trisubstituted pyrazolone derivatives, 4-n-alkoxyphenyl and Schiff base–cinnamate central linkages, have been synthesised to give 4-[(5-hydroxy-3-methyl-1-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-4-yl) methyleneamino] phenyl 3-(4-n-alkoxyphenyl)acrylate [Series-A] and 4-[(5-hydroxy-3-methyl-1-p-tolyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)methyleneamino] phenyl 3-(4-n-alkoxyphenyl)acrylate [Series-B] and their Cu(II) complexes have also been synthesised. These compounds were characterised by elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), carbon-13 NMR (13C NMR) and ultraviolet (UV)-visible and mass spectral studies. Their mesomorphic behaviour was studied by polarising optical microscope (POM) with a heating stage. POM data were compared with differential scanning calorimetry thermograms. In Series-A and -B, all compounds exhibit mesomorphism. Series-A compounds exhibit an enantiotropic nematic mesophase except propyl derivative, while a smectic A (SmA) mesophase is observed from the heptyl derivative and persists up to the last member of the homologous series. n-Heptyloxy derivative is monotropic for SmA phase. Series-B compounds also exhibit the enantiotropic nematic mesophase, while the SmA mesophase is observed from the heptyl derivative and persists up to the last member of the homologous series. n-Dodecyloxy derivative exhibits monotropic SmA and nematic mesophases. The mesomorphic properties of both series are compared with each other and the other structurally related compounds. The study reveals that cinnamate linkage containing liquid crystals have higher thermal stability compared to structurally related series containing chalcone linkage. In case of complex series, only one compound from each series gives nematic mesophase.  相似文献

Unsymmetrical 2-alkoxy-6-[4-(4-alkoxyphenyl)buta-1,3-diynyl]naphthalenes were synthesized and their mesomorphic properties studied. In addition to an increase the mesophase temperature range of 10°C, the melting temperatures are significantly lower while there is a less pronounced decrease in the clearing temperatures when compared with those of the symmetrical 1,4-bis(6-alkoxy-2-naphthyl)butadiynes. Further reducing the symmetry by introducing the two terminal chains of unequal length shows little effect on the mesogenic properties. Shortening the linker from a butadiynyne unit to an ethyne unit significantly reduces the overall mesophase and nematic temperature ranges but the smectic range markedly increases.  相似文献

Compounds based on 4,4'-substituted phenylbenzoate \[ R O-C6H4COO-C6H4- X ] ( I ), where X is a cyano group and R is a terminal alkyl chain ranging from 12 to 30 carbon atoms, and alternatively where R is held at 16 carbons and X is CN, COOH, OH, COOCH2C6H4, OCH2C6H4 and OC16H33 , were prepared and their mesophase stabilities characterized. Similarly, compounds based on symmetric dimers of terminally alkoxy-substituted phenyl esters \[C16H33O-C6H5COO- A -OOCC6H5-OC16H33] ( II ), the central linkage A being 1,2-, 1,3- and 1,4-phenylene, and 4,4'-biphenyl, were synthesized and studied. A partial success was achieved in the synthesis of compounds similar to series II , but where the ester groups were reversed (series III ), in order to assess the influence of this structure variation on the liquid crystallinity.  相似文献

In order to develop novel bioactive substances with potent activities, some new valine-derived compounds incorporating a 4-(phenylsulfonyl)phenyl fragment, namely, acyclic precursors from N-acyl-α-amino acids and N-acyl-α-amino ketones classes, and heterocycles from the large family of 1,3-oxazole-based compounds, were synthesized. The structures of the new compounds were established using elemental analysis and spectral (UV-Vis, FT-IR, MS, NMR) data, and their purity was checked by reversed-phase HPLC. The newly synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial and antibiofilm activities, for toxicity on D. magna, and by in silico studies regarding their potential mechanism of action and toxicity. The 2-aza-3-isopropyl-1-[4-(phenylsulfonyl)phenyl]-1,4-butanedione 4b bearing a p-tolyl group in 4-position exhibited the best antibacterial activity against the planktonic growth of both Gram-positive and Gram-negative strains, while the N-acyl-α-amino acid 2 and 1,3-oxazol-5(4H)-one 3 inhibited the Enterococcus faecium biofilms. Despite not all newly synthesized compounds showing significant biological activity, the general scaffold allows several future optimizations for obtaining better novel antimicrobial agents by the introduction of various substituents on the phenyl moiety at position 5 of the 1,3-oxazole nucleus.  相似文献

New conductive thermotropic liquid crystalline materials having a piperazine ring in the central core: 1-[4-(9-decenyloxy)phenyl]-4-alkylpiperazines ( 6 ) were synthesized. The mesomorphic behaviours of these compounds and their conductivity in the liquid crystal phase were measured. The principal features of these compounds are to exhibit a smectic B phase around room temperature (for example 6 : Cr 50 SmB 81 I, °C) and to exhibit a large dark current (6d: 430 μA cm-2, applied voltage 20 V, at 70°C) in the smectic B phase.  相似文献
