Let α be an endomorphism and δ an α-derivation of a ring R. We introduce the notion of skew-Armendariz rings which are a generalization of α-skew Armendariz rings and α-rigid rings and extend the classes of non reduced skew-Armendariz rings. Some properties of this generalization are established, and connections of properties of a skew-Armendariz ring R with those of the Ore extension R[x; α, δ] are investigated. As a consequence we extend and unify several known results related to Armendariz rings.  相似文献

We extend the notion of a purely infinite simple C *-algebra to the context of unital rings, and we study its basic properties, specially those related to K-theory. For instance, if R is a purely infinite simple ring, then K 0(R)+ = K 0(R), the monoid of isomorphism classes of finitely generated projective R-modules is isomorphic to the monoid obtained from K 0(R) by adjoining a new zero element, and K 1(R) is the Abelianization of the group of units of R. We develop techniques of construction, obtaining new examples in this class in the case of von Neumann regular rings, and we compute the Grothendieck groups of these examples. In particular, we prove that every countable Abelian group is isomorphic to K 0 of some purely infinite simple regular ring. Finally, some known examples are analyzed within this framework.  相似文献

The paper is concerned with the study of the decisive dimension defined on the category of left modules over a ring R. We compare the decisive dimension with the Gabriel dimension and other dimensions recently introduced. We give module theoretic as well as lattice theoretic characterizations of rings with decisive dimension. As an application we obtain characterizations of some classes of rings.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

An E-ring is a ring that is naturally isomorphic to the endomorphism ring of its additive group. E-rings with various properties have been constructed in the literature; we now consider superdecomposable E-rings. More generally, we construct superdecomposable algebras A over integral domains R, which are at the same time E(R)-algebra in the sense that the ring of R-endomorphisms of the underlying R-module structure is canonically isomorphic to A. We also establish the existence of arbitrarily large superdecomposable modules over such algebras.  相似文献

Let R be a ring and ρ a right ideal of R with zero right annihilate. Then ρ and R have the same left Utumi quotient ring. We study the lifting properties of GPIs and some chain conditions inherited by such right ideals. Next, we prove a generalization of Chatters’ theorem. Precisely, we show that if R is a right nonsingular ring with finite right Goldie dimension and possesses a right ideal ρ such that both ρ and l R(ρ) are PI-rings, then the right Utumi quotient ring of R is also a Pi-ring.  相似文献

Motivated by the study of V-rings, we introduce the concept of V-category, as a Grothendieck category with the property that any simple object is injective. We present basic properties of V-categories, and we study this concept in the special case of locally finitely generated categories, for instance the category R-gr of all graded left R-modules, where R is a graded ring. We use the characterizations of V-categories in the study of graded V-rings. Since V-rings are closely related to Von Neumann regular rings (in the commutative case these classes of rings coincide), the last part of the article is devoted to graded regular rings.  相似文献

Hirano studied the quasi-Armendariz property of rings, and then this concept was generalized by some authors, defining quasi-Armendariz property for skew polynomial rings and monoid rings. In this article, we consider unified approach to the quasi-Armendariz property of skew power series rings and skew polynomial rings by considering the quasi-Armendariz condition in mixed extension ring [R; I][x; σ], introducing the concept of so-called (σ, I)-quasi Armendariz ring, where R is an associative ring equipped with an endomorphism σ and I is an σ-stable ideal of R. We study the ring-theoretical properties of (σ, I)-quasi Armendariz rings, and we obtain various necessary or sufficient conditions for a ring to be (σ, I)-quasi Armendariz. Constructing various examples, we classify how the (σ, I)-quasi Armendariz property behaves under various ring extensions. Furthermore, we show that a number of interesting properties of an (σ, I)-quasi Armendariz ring R such as reflexive and quasi-Baer property transfer to its mixed extension ring and vice versa. In this way, we extend the well-known results about quasi-Armendariz property in ordinary polynomial rings and skew polynomial rings for this class of mixed extensions. We pay also a particular attention to quasi-Gaussian rings.  相似文献

For any ring R, the set 𝒩(R) of all natural classes of R-modules is a complete Boolean lattice, which is a direct sum of two convex and complete Boolean sublattices 𝒩(R) = 𝒩 t (R) ⊕ 𝒩 f (R), where the last summand is the set of all nonsingular natural classes. The ring R contains a unique lattice of ideals 𝒥(R) which is lattice isomorphic to 𝒩 f (R). The present note develops the analogue of all of the above for an arbitrary R-module M, so that in the special case when M R  = R R , the known lattice isomorphism 𝒥(R) ? 𝒩 f (R) is recovered.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring and H R the ring of Hurwitz series over R. In this note, we consider some properties of rings, which are shared by R and HR. In particular, we show that for the rings R and H R, if either ring is (i) a Hermite ring, or (ii) a PF-ring in the sense that every finitely generated projective R-module is free, then so is another. We also show that if R is a PS-ring in the sense that the socle Soc( RR) is projective and char(R) = 0, then H R is also a PS-ring.  相似文献

We introduce a type of commutative ring R in which its ideal lattice has a strong form of the distributive property. We show that if R is reduced, then it is a semilocal von Neumann regular ring. In this case, we show that the K 1 group of this ring has a relatively simple structure.  相似文献

Let R be a ring with an endomorphism α and an α-derivation δ. In this article, for a skew-Armendariz ring R we study some properties of skew polynomial ring R[x; α, δ]. In particular, among other results, we show that for an (α, δ)-compatible skew-Armendariz ring R, γ(R[x; α, δ]) = γ(R)[x; α, δ] = Ni?*(R)[x; α, δ], where γ is a radical in the class of radicals which includes the Wedderburn, lower nil, Levitzky, and upper nil radicals. We also show that several properties, including the symmetric, reversible, ZCn, zip, and 2-primal property, transfer between R and the skew polynomial ring R[x; α, δ], in case R is (α, δ)-compatible skew-Armendariz. As a consequence we extend and unify several known results.  相似文献

We study the zero divisor graph determined by equivalence classes of zero divisors of a commutative Noetherian ring R. We demonstrate how to recover information about R from this structure. In particular, we determine how to identify associated primes from the graph.  相似文献

This note is concerned with generalizations of commutativity. We introduce identity-symmetric and right near-commutative, and study basic structures of rings with such ring properties. It is shown that if R is an identity-symmetric ring, then the set of all nilpotent elements forms a commutative subring of R. Moreover, identity-symmetric regular rings are proved to be commutative. The near-commutativity is shown to be not left-right symmetric, and we study some conditions under which the near-commutativity is left-right symmetric. We also examine the near-commutativity of skew-trivial extensions, which has a role in this note.  相似文献

For a ring R with a derivation δ, we introduce and investigate a generalization of reduced rings which we call an Armendariz ring of pseudo-differential operator type (or simply 𝒟𝒪-Armendariz ring). Various classes of non-reduced 𝒟𝒪-Armendariz rings is provided and a number of properties of this generalization are established. Radicals of the pseudo-differential operator ring R((x ?1, δ)), in terms of those of a 𝒟𝒪-Armendariz ring R, is established.  相似文献

A ring R is said to have property (◇) if the injective hull of every simple R-module is locally Artinian. By landmark results of Matlis and Vamos, every commutative Noetherian ring has (◇). We give a systematic study of commutative rings with (◇), We give several general characterizations in terms of co-finite topologies on R and completions of R. We show that they have many properties of Noetherian rings, such as Krull intersection property, and recover several classical results of commutative Noetherian algebra, including some of Matlis and Vamos. Moreover, we show that a complete rings has (◇) if and only if it is Noetherian. We also give a few results relating the (◇) property of a local ring with that of its associated graded rings, and construct a series of examples.

Through this article, R denotes a commutative ring with identity. The aim of this article is to construct a morphism of lattices between the reticulation of a ring of quotients (of a commutative ring with respect to a Gabriel topology) and the localization lattice of the reticulation of the initial ring. The article is structured as follows: The first section introduces all the necessary notions required to simplify the reading of the article. The second section presents some properties of the topology induced by a Gabriel topology on the reticulation L(R). In the third section the morphism δ, which achieves the intended link, is constructed. The last section studies the defined morphism in some particular cases.  相似文献

Torsion classes and radical classes of lattice ordered groups have been investigated in several papers. The notions of torsion class and of radical class of generalized Boolean algebras are defined analogously. We denote by T g and R g the collections of all torsion classes or of all radical classes of generalized Boolean algebras, respectively. Both T g and R g are partially ordered by the class-theoretical inclusion. We deal with the relation between these partially ordered collection; as a consequence, we obtain that T g is a Brouwerian lattice. W. C. Holland proved that each variety of lattice ordered groups is a torsion class. We show that an analogous result is valid for generalized Boolean algebras.  相似文献

We construct a ring R with R = Q(R), the maximal right ring of quotients of R, and a right R-module essential extension S R of R R such that S has several distinct isomorphism classes of compatible ring structures. It is shown that under one class of these compatible ring structures, the ring S is not a QF-ring (in fact S is not even a right FI-extending ring), while under all other remaining classes of the ring structures, the ring S is QF. We demonstrate our results by an application to a finite ring.  相似文献

For an endomorphism α of a ring R, we introduce the notion of an α-Armendariz ring to investigate the relative Armendariz properties. This concept extends the class of Armendariz rings and gives us an opportunity to study Armendariz rings in a general setting. It is obvious that every Armendariz ring is an α-Armendariz ring, but we shall give an example to show that there exists a right α-Armendariz ring which is not Armendariz. A number of properties of this version are established. It is shown that if I is a reduced ideal of a ring R such that R/I is a right α-Armendariz ring, then R is right α-Armendariz. For an endomorphism α of a ring R, we show that R is right α-Armendariz if and only if R[x] is right α-Armendariz. Moreover, a weak form of α-Armendariz rings is considered in the last section. We show that in general weak α-Armendariz rings need not be α-Armendariz.  相似文献
