Finite commutative semi-simple rings are direct sum of finite fields. In this study, we investigate the algebraic structure of λ-constacyclic codes over such finite semi-simple rings. Among others, necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of self-dual, LCD, and Hermitian dual-containing λ-constacyclic codes over finite semi-simple rings are provided. Using the CSS and Hermitian constructions, quantum MDS codes over finite semi-simple rings are constructed.  相似文献

Additive cyclic codes over Galois rings were investigated in Cao et al. (2015). In this paper, we investigate the same problem but over a more general ring family, finite commutative chain rings. When we focus on non-Galois finite commutative chain rings, we observe two different kinds of additivity. One of them is a natural generalization of the study in Cao et al. (2015), whereas the other one has some unusual properties especially while constructing dual codes. We interpret the reasons of such properties and illustrate our results giving concrete examples.  相似文献

Using ideas from the cohomology of finite groups, an isomorphism is established between a group ring and the direct sum of twisted group rings. This gives a decomposition of a group ring code into twisted group ring codes. In the abelian case the twisted group ring codes are (multi-dimensional) constacyclic codes. We use the decomposition to prove that, with respect to the Euclidean inner product, there are no self-dual group ring codes when the group is the direct product of a 2-group and a group of odd order, and the ring is a field of odd characteristic or a certain modular ring. In particular, there are no self-dual abelian codes over the rings indicated. Extensions of these results to non-Euclidean inner products are briefly discussed.  相似文献

In this paper we consider stabilizer codes over local Frobenius rings. Firstly, we study the relative minimum distances of a stabilizer code and its reduction onto the residue field. We show that for various scenarios, a free stabilizer code over the ring does not underperform the according stabilizer code over the field. This leads us to conjecture that the same is true for all free stabilizer codes. Secondly, we focus on the isometries of stabilizer codes. We present some preliminary results and introduce some interesting open problems.  相似文献

In 1985, Gabidulin introduced the rank metric in coding theory over finite fields, and used this kind of codes in a McEliece cryptosystem, six years later. In this paper, we consider rank metric codes over Galois rings. We propose a suitable metric for codes over such rings, and show its main properties. With this metric, we define Gabidulin codes over Galois rings, propose an efficient decoding algorithm for them, and hint their cryptographic application.  相似文献

We give an algebraic structure for a large family of binary quasi-cyclic codes. We construct a family of commutative rings and a canonical Gray map such that cyclic codes over this family of rings produce quasi-cyclic codes of arbitrary index in the Hamming space via the Gray map. We use the Gray map to produce optimal linear codes that are quasi-cyclic.  相似文献

Self-dual codes, which are codes that are equal to their orthogonal, are a widely studied family of codes. Various techniques involving circulant matrices and matrices from group rings have been used to construct such codes. Moreover, families of rings have been used, together with a Gray map, to construct binary self-dual codes. In this paper, we introduce a new bordered construction over group rings for self-dual codes by combining many of the previously used techniques. The purpose of this is to construct self-dual codes that were missed using classical construction techniques by constructing self-dual codes with different automorphism groups. We apply the technique to codes over finite commutative Frobenius rings of characteristic 2 and several group rings and use these to construct interesting binary self-dual codes. In particular, we construct some extremal self-dual codes of length 64 and 68, constructing 30 new extremal self-dual codes of length 68.  相似文献

We extend the definition of free codes to codes over local rings and arbitrary Frobenius rings. The number of free codes over finite Frobenius rings is determined by calculating the number for local rings and applying the Chinese Remainder Theorem. A formula for the number of codes of arbitrary type over a finite chain ring is given and this is applied to determine the number of linear codes over a finite principal ideal ring.  相似文献

In this paper, LCD cyclic, self dual and isodual codes over finite chain rings are investigated. It was proven recently that a non-free LCD cyclic code does not exist over finite chain rings. Based on algebraic number theory, we introduce necessary and sufficient conditions for which all free cyclic codes over a finite chain ring are LCD. We have also obtained conditions on the existence of non trivial self dual cyclic codes of any length when the nilpotency index of the maximal ideal of a finite chain ring is even. Further, several constructions of isodual codes are given based on the factorization of the polynomial xn1 over a finite chain ring.  相似文献

In this paper we generalize the notion of cyclic code and construct codes as ideals in finite quotients of non-commutative polynomial rings, so called skew polynomial rings of automorphism type. We propose a method to construct block codes of prescribed rank and a method to construct block codes of prescribed distance. Since there is no unique factorization in skew polynomial rings, there are much more ideals and therefore much more codes than in the commutative case. In particular we obtain a [40, 23, 10]4 code by imposing a distance and a [42,14,21]8 code by imposing a rank, which both improve by one the minimum distance of the previously best known linear codes of equal length and dimension over those fields. There is a strong connection with linear difference operators and with linearized polynomials (or q-polynomials) reviewed in the first section.   相似文献

In this paper we study an instance of projective Reed–Muller type codes, i.e., codes obtained by the evaluation of homogeneous polynomials of a fixed degree in the points of a projective variety. In our case the variety is an important example of a determinantal variety, namely the projective surface known as rational normal scroll, defined over a finite field, which is the basic underlining algebraic structure of this work. We determine the dimension and a lower bound for the minimum distance of the codes, and in many cases we also find the exact value of the minimum distance. To obtain the results we use some methods from Gröbner bases theory.  相似文献

It is known that a projective linear two-weight code C over a finite field corresponds both to a set of points in a projective space over that meets every hyperplane in either a or b points for some integers a < b, and to a strongly regular graph whose vertices may be identified with the codewords of C. Here we extend this classical result to the case of a ring-linear code with exactly two nonzero homogeneous weights and sets of points in an associated projective ring geometry. We will introduce regular projective two-weight codes over finite Frobenius rings, we will show that such a code gives rise to a strongly regular graph, and we will give some constructions of two-weight codes using ring geometries. All these examples yield infinite families of strongly regular graphs with non-trivial parameters.   相似文献

In this paper, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of non-trivial cyclic self-dual codes over finite chain rings. We prove that there are no free cyclic self-dual codes over finite chain rings with odd characteristic. It is also proven that a self-dual code over a finite chain ring cannot be the lift of a binary cyclic self-dual code. The number of cyclic self-dual codes over chain rings is also investigated as an extension of the number of cyclic self-dual codes over finite fields given recently by Jia et al.  相似文献

We show that repeated-root cyclic codes over a finite chain ring are in general not principally generated. Repeated-root negacyclic codes are principally generated if the ring is a Galois ring with characteristic a power of 2. For any other finite chain ring they are in general not principally generated. In this paper, a transform approach is used for polycyclic and serial codes over finite local rings in the case that the defining polynomials have no multiple roots. This allows us to study them in terms of linear algebra and invariant subspaces as well as understand the duality in terms of the transform domain. The use of skew polynomial rings allows to endow linear codes with cyclic structures which are not cyclic in the classical (commutative) sense. Whenever these skew cyclic structures are carefully chosen, some control over the Hamming distance is gained, and it is possible to design efficient decoding algorithms. In this paper, we give a version of the Hartmann–Tzeng bound that works for a wide class of skew cyclic codes. We also provide a practical method for constructing them with designed distance. For skew BCH codes, which are covered by our constructions, we discuss decoding algorithms. Detailed examples illustrate both the theory as the constructive methods it supports.  相似文献
