The nonlinear initial-value problemu″(t)+f(t,u(t))=0,u(t 0)+bu′(t 0)=c,t 0≥0,b≤0,c≥0, is considered for positive solutions on [t 0, ∞). Existence of positive solutions is proved without the hypothesis thatf(t, ω)≥0 (or ≤0), using the lattice fixed point theorem. A monotonicity condition inf(t, ω) is used to prove the uniqueness of the solution of the initial-value problem. Whenf(t, ω)≥0 (or ≤0), uniqueness is also obtained under a sublinearity condition onf(t, ω).  相似文献

The paper deals with the following second order Dirichlet boundary value problem with p ∈ ? state-dependent impulses: z″(t) = f (t,z(t)) for a.e. t ∈ [0, T], z(0) = z(T) = 0, z′(τ i +) ? z′(τ i ?) = I i (τ i , z(τ i )), τ i = γ i (z(τ i )), i = 1,..., p. Solvability of this problem is proved under the assumption that there exists a well-ordered couple of lower and upper functions to the corresponding Dirichlet problem without impulses.  相似文献

We investigate the fractional differential equation u″ + A c D α u = f(t, u, c D μ u, u′) subject to the boundary conditions u′(0) = 0, u(T)+au′(T) = 0. Here α ∈ (1, 2), µ ∈ (0, 1), f is a Carathéodory function and c D is the Caputo fractional derivative. Existence and uniqueness results for the problem are given. The existence results are proved by the nonlinear Leray-Schauder alternative. We discuss the existence of positive and negative solutions to the problem and properties of their derivatives.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce the concept of a weak solution for second order differential inclusions of the form u″(t) ∈ Au(t) + f(t), where A is a maximal monotone operator in a Hilbert space H. We prove existence and uniqueness of weak solutions to two point boundary value problems associated with such kind of equations. Furthermore, existence of (strong and weak) solutions to the equation above which are bounded on the positive half axis is proved under the optimal condition tf(t) ∈ L 1(0, ∞; H), thus solving a long-standing open problem (for details, see our comments in Section 3 of the paper). Our treatment regarding weak solutions is similar to the corresponding theory related to the first order differential inclusions of the form f(t) ∈ u′(t) + Au(t) which has already been well developed.  相似文献

The paper studies the problem of existence of positive solution to the following boundary value problem: $D_{0^ + }^\sigma u''(t) - g(t)f(u(t)) = 0$ , t ∈ (0, 1), u″(0) = u″(1) = 0, au(0) ? bu′(0) = Σ i=1 m?2 a i u i ), cu(1) + du′(1) = Σ i=1 m?2 b i u(ξ i ), where $D_{0^ + }^\sigma$ is the Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative of order 1 < σ ≤ 2 and f is a lower semi-continuous function. Using Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorems in a cone, the existence of one positive solution and multiple positive solutions for nonlinear singular boundary value problems is established.  相似文献

We show that if u is a bounded solution on R+ of u″(t) ?Au(t) + f(t), where A is a maximal monotone operator on a real Hilbert space H and fLloc2(R+;H) is periodic, then there exists a periodic solution ω of the differential equation such that u(t) ? ω(t)   0 and u′(t) ? ω′(t) → 0 as t → ∞. We also show that the two-point boundary value problem for this equation has a unique solution for boundary values in D(A) and that a smoothing effect takes place.  相似文献

The article is devoted to the theory of elliptic functions of level n. An elliptic function of level n determines a Hirzebruch genus called an elliptic genus of level n. Elliptic functions of level n are also of interest because they are solutions of the Hirzebruch functional equations. The elliptic function of level 2 is the Jacobi elliptic sine function, which determines the famous Ochanine–Witten genus. It is the exponential of the universal formal group of the form F(u, v) = (u2 ? v2)/(uB(v) ? vB(u)), B(0) = 1. The elliptic function of level 3 is the exponential of the universal formal group of the form F(u, v) = (u2A(v) ? v2A(u))/(uA(v)2 ? vA(u)2), A(0) = 1, A″(0) = 0. In the present study we show that the elliptic function of level 4 is the exponential of the universal formal group of the form F(u, v) = (u2A(v) ? v2A(u))/(uB(v) ? vB(u)), where A(0) = B(0) = 1 and for B′(0) = A″(0) = 0, A′(0) = A1, and B″(0) = 2B2 the following relation holds: (2B(u) + 3A1u)2 = 4A(u)3 ? (3A12 ? 8B2)u2A(u)2. To prove this result, we express the elliptic function of level 4 in terms of the Weierstrass elliptic functions.  相似文献

In this paper we give the existence of mild solutions for semilinear Cauchy problems u′(t) = Au(t) +f(t, u(t)), t ∈ I, a.e. with nonlocal initial condition u(O) = g(u) +uo when the map g loses compactness in Banach spaces.  相似文献

In a Banach space E, we consider the abstract Euler–Poisson–Darboux equation u″(t) + kt?1u′(t) = Au(t) on the half-line. (Here k ∈ ? is a parameter, and A is a closed linear operator with dense domain on E.) We obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the solvability of the Cauchy problem u(0) = 0, lim t→0+t k u′(t) = u1, k < 0, for this equation. The condition is stated in terms of an estimate for the norms of the fractional power of the resolvent of A and its derivatives. We introduce the operator Bessel function with negative index and study its properties.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the construction of accurate continuous numerical solutions for partial self-adjoint differential systems of the type (P(t) ut)t = Q(t)uxx, u(0, t) = u(d, t) = 0, u(x, 0) = f(x), ut(x, 0) = g(x), 0 ≤ xd, t >- 0, where P(t), Q(t) are positive definite oRr×r-valued functions such that P′(t) and Q′(t) are simultaneously semidefinite (positive or negative) for all t ≥ 0. First, an exact theoretical series solution of the problem is obtained using a separation of variables technique. After appropriate truncation strategy and the numerical solution of certain matrix differential initial value problems the following question is addressed. Given T > 0 and an admissible error ϵ > 0 how to construct a continuous numerical solution whose error with respect to the exact series solution is smaller than ϵ, uniformly in D(T) = {(x, t); 0 ≤ xd, 0 ≤ tT}. Uniqueness of solutions is also studied.  相似文献

For a triple of Hilbert spaces {V, H, V*}, we study a discrete and a semidiscrete scheme for an evolution inclusion of the form u′(t) + A(t)u(t) + ??(t, u(t)) ? f(t), u(0) = u 0, t ∈ (0, T], where the pair {A(t), ?(t, ·)} consists of a family of nonlinear operators from V into V* and a family of proper convex lower semicontinuous functionals with common effective domain D(?) ? V. The discrete scheme is a combination of the Galerkin method with perturbations and the implicit Euler method. Under conditions on the data providing the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the problem in the space H 1(0, T; V) ∩ W 1 (0, T;H), we obtain an abstract estimate for the method error in the energy norm of first-order accuracy with respect to the time increment. By way of application, we consider a problem with an obstacle inside the domain, for which we obtain an optimal estimate of the accuracy of two implicit schemes (standard and new) on the basis of the finite element method.  相似文献

In the space of functions with values in Hilbert space, we consider the Cauchy problem u′ t + Au + B(u, u) = f(t), u(0) = 0, 0 ≤ tT. We construct examples of a self-adjoint operator AE and a bilinear transformation B satisfying the condition 〈B(u, v), v〉 = 0 such that the Cauchy problem is not strongly solvable.  相似文献

A natural class of appropriate viscosity matrices for strictly hyperbolic systems of conservation laws in one space dimension, u1 + f(u)x = 0, u?Rm, is studied. These matrices are admissible in the sense that small-amplitude shock wave solutions of the hyperbolic system are shown to be limits of smooth traveling wave solutions of the parabolic system ut + f(u)x = v(Dux)x as ifv → 0 if D is in this class. The class is determined by a linearized stability requirement: The Cauchy problem for the equation u1 + f′(u0) ux = vDuxx should be well posed in L2 uniformly in v as v → 0. Previous examples of inadmissible viscosity matrices are accounted for through violation of the stability criterion.  相似文献

We consider the classical nonlinear fourth-order two-point boundary value problem . In this problem, the nonlinear term h(t)f(t, u(t), u′(t), u″(t)) contains the first and second derivatives of the unknown function, and the function h(t)f(t, x, y, z) may be singular at t = 0, t = 1 and at x = 0, y = 0, z = 0. By introducing suitable height functions and applying the fixed point theorem on the cone, we establish several local existence theorems on positive solutions and obtain the corresponding eigenvalue intervals.  相似文献

We study the p-system with viscosity given by vt ? ux = 0, ut + p(v)x = (k(v)ux)x + f(∫ vdx, t), with the initial and the boundary conditions (v(x, 0), u(x,0)) = (v0, u0(x)), u(0,t) = u(X,t) = 0. To describe the motion of the fluid more realistically, many equations of state, namely the function p(v) have been proposed. In this paper, we adopt Planck's equation, which is defined only for v > b(> 0) and not a monotonic function of v, and prove the global existence of the smooth solution. The essential point of the proof is to obtain the bound of v of the form b < h(T) ? v(x, t) ? H(T) < ∞ for some constants h(T) and H(T).  相似文献

Let φ be a convex l.s.c. function fromH (Hilbert) into ] - ∞, ∞ ] andD(φ)={uH; φ(u)<+∞}. It is proved that for everyu 0D(φ) the equation − (du/dt)(t ∈ ∂φ(u(t)),u(0)=u 0 has a solution satisfying ÷(du(t)/dt)÷ ≦(c 1/t)+c 2. The behavior ofu(t) in the neighborhood oft=0 andt=+∞ as well as the inhomogeneous equation (du(t)/dt)+∂φ(u(t)) ∈f(t) are then studied. Solutions of some nonlinear boundary value problems are given as applications.   相似文献

To analyze the attainable order of m-stage implicit (collocation-based) Runge-Kutta methods for the delay differential equation (DDE) y′(t) = by(qt), 0 < q ≤ 1 with y(0) = 1, and the delay Volterra integral equation (DVIE) y(t) = 1 + $\tfrac{b}{q}\int {_0^{qt} }$ y(s) ds with proportional delay qt, 0 < q ≤ 1, our particular interest lies in the approximations (and their orders) at the first mesh point t = h for the collocation solution v(t) of the DDE and the iterated collocation solution u it(t) of the DVIE to the solution y(t). Recently, H. Brunner proposed the following open problem: “For m ≤ 3, do there exist collocation points c i = c i(q), i = 1, 2,..., m in [0,1] such that the rational approximant v(h)is the (m, m)-Padé approximant to y(h)? If these exist, then |v(h) ? y(h)| = O(h 2m+1) but what is the collocation polynomial M m(t; q) = K Π i=1 m (t ? c i) of v(th), t ∈ [0, 1]?” In this paper, we solve this question affirmatively, and give the related results between the collocation solution v(t) of the DDE and the iterated collocation solution u it(t) of the DVIE. We also answer to Brunner's second open question in the case that one collocation point is fixed at the right end point of the interval.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behaviors of the solutions to the initial-boundary value problem for scalar viscous conservations laws ut + f(u)x = uxx on [0, 1], with the boundary condition u(0, t) = u(t) → u, u(1, t) = u+(t) → u+, as t → +∞ and the initial data u(x,0) = u0(x) satisfying u0(0) = u(0), u0(1) = u+(1), where u± are given constants, uu+ and f is a given function satisfying f″(u) > 0 for u under consideration. By means of an elementary energy estimates method, both the global existence and the asymptotic behavior are obtained. When uu+, which corresponds to rarefaction waves in inviscid conservation laws, no smallness conditions are needed. While for u > u+, which corresponds to shock waves in inviscid conservation laws, it is established for weak shock waves, that is, |uu+| is small. Moreover, when u±(t) ≡ u±, t ≥ 0, exponential decay rates are both obtained.  相似文献

We prove that the mixed problem for the Klein–Gordon–Fock equation u tt (x, t) ? u xx (x, t) + au(x, t) = 0, where a ≥ 0, in the rectangle Q T = [0 ≤ x ≤ l] × [0 ≤ tT] with zero initial conditions and with the boundary conditions u(0, t) = μ(t) ∈ L p [0, T ], u(l, t) = 0, has a unique generalized solution u(x, t) in the class L p (Q T ) for p ≥ 1. We construct the solution in explicit analytic form.  相似文献
