An electron donor–acceptor dyad based on a polychlorotriphenylmethyl (PTM) radical subunit linked to a tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) unit through a π‐conjugated N‐phenyl–pyrrole–vinylene bridge has been synthesized and characterized. The intramolecular electron transfer process and magnetic properties of the radical dyad have been evaluated by cyclic voltammetry, UV/Vis spectroscopy, vibrational spectroscopy, and ESR spectroscopy in solution and in the solid state. The self‐assembling abilities of the radical dyad and of its protonated non‐radical analogue have been investigated by X‐ray crystallographic analysis, which revealed that the radical dyad produced a supramolecular architecture with segregated donor and acceptor units in which the TTF subunits were arranged in 1D herringbone‐type stacks. Analysis of the X‐ray data at different temperatures suggests that the two inequivalent molecules that form the asymmetric unit of the crystal of the radical dyad evolve into an opposite degree of electronic delocalization as the temperature decreases.  相似文献

A set of three donor‐acceptor conjugated (D‐A) copolymers were designed and synthesized via Stille cross‐coupling reactions with the aim of modulating the optical and electronic properties of a newly emerged naphtho[1,2‐b:5,6‐b′]dithiophene donor unit for polymer solar cell (PSCs) applications. The PTNDTT‐BT , PTNDTT‐BTz , and PTNDTT‐DPP polymers incorporated naphtho[1,2‐b:5,6‐b′]dithiophene ( NDT ) as the donor and 2,2′‐bithiazole ( BTz ), benzo[1,2,5]thiadiazole ( BT ), and pyrrolo[3,4‐c]pyrrole‐1,4(2H,5H)‐dione ( DPP ), as the acceptor units. A number of experimental techniques such as differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetry, UV–vis absorption spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, X‐ray diffraction, and atomic force microscopy were used to determine the thermal, optical, electrochemical, and morphological properties of the copolymers. By introducing acceptors of varying electron withdrawing strengths, the optical band gaps of these copolymers were effectively tuned between 1.58 and 1.9 eV and their HOMO and LUMO energy levels were varied between ?5.14 to ?5.26 eV and ?3.13 to ?3.5 eV, respectively. The spin‐coated polymer thin film exhibited p‐channel field‐effect transistor properties with hole mobilities of 2.73 × 10?3 to 7.9 × 10?5 cm2 V?1 s?1. Initial bulk‐heterojunction PSCs fabricated using the copolymers as electron donor materials and [6,6]‐phenyl C71 butyric acid methyl ester (PC71BM) as the acceptor resulted in power conversion efficiencies in the range of 0.67–1.67%. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Herein we report on the synthesis and acid‐responsive emission properties of donor–acceptor (D–A) molecules that contain a thienothiophene unit. 2‐Arylthieno[3,2‐b]thiophenes were conjugated with an N‐methylbenzimidazole unit to form acid‐responsive D–A‐type fluorophores. The D–A‐conjugated fluorophores showed intense intramolecular charge‐transfer (ICT) emission in response to acid. The effect of the substitution on their photophysical properties as well as their solvent‐dependence indicated non‐twisting ICT emission in protonated D–A molecules. The quinoidal character of 2‐arylthienothiophene as a donor part is discussed, as it is assumed that it contributes to suppression of the molecular twisting in the excited state, therefore decreasing the nonradiative rate constant, thereby resulting in the intense ICT emission. Acid–base‐sensitive triple‐color emission was also achieved by the introduction of a base‐responsive phenol group in the donor part.  相似文献

A new donor–acceptor (D–A) conjugated copolymer based on benzo[1,2‐b:4,5‐b′]dithiophene (BDT) and thieno[3,4‐c]pyrrole‐4,6‐dione (TPD) was synthesized via a Stille cross‐coupling reaction. A highly conjugated thiophene‐based side group, tris(thienylenevinylene) (TTV), was incorporated into each BDT unit to generate the two‐dimensional D–A copolymer (PBDT‐TTV). An alkoxy‐substituted BDT‐based TPD copolymer (PBDT‐OR) was synthesized using the same polymerization method for comparison. PBDT‐TTV thin films produced two distinct absorption peaks. The shorter wavelength absorption (458 nm) was attributed to the BDT units containing the TTV group, and the longer wavelength band (567–616 nm) was attributed to intramolecular charge transfer between the BDT donor and the TPD acceptor. The highest occupied molecular orbital energy levels of PBDT‐OR and PBDT‐TTV were calculated to be −5.53 and −5.61 eV, respectively. PBDT‐TTV thin films harvested a broad solar spectrum covering the range 300–700 nm. A comparison with the PBDT‐OR films revealed stronger interchain π–π interactions in the PBDT‐TTV films and, thus, a higher hole mobility. A polymer solar cell device prepared using PBDT‐TTV as the active layer was found to exhibit a higher power conversion efficiency than a device prepared using PBDT‐OR under AM 1.5 G (100 mW/cm2) conditions. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Novel two‐dimensional donor–acceptor (D–A) structured conjugated polymers, P1–P4, were designed and synthesized by introducing electron‐deficient quinoxaline as core and electron‐rich alkoxyl‐phenylenevinylene in side chains and p‐phenylenevinylene, triphenylamine, or thiophene in main chain. Benefited from the D–A structures, the polymers possess low bandgaps of 1.75 eV, 1.86 eV, 1.59 eV, and 1.58 eV for P1, P2, P3, and P4, respectively, and show broad absorption band in the visible region: the shorter wavelength absorption peak at ~400 nm ascribed to the conjugated side chains and the longer wavelength absorption peak between 500 nm and 750 nm belonging to the absorption of the conjugated main chains. Especially, the absorption band of P4 film covers the whole visible range from 300 nm to 784 nm. The power conversion efficiencies of the polymer solar cells based on P1–P4 as donor and PCBM as acceptor are 0.029%, 0.14%, 0.46%, and 0.57%, respectively, under the illumination of AM 1.5, 100 mW/cm2. The polymers with the low bandgap and broad absorption band are promising photovoltaic materials. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 46: 4038–4049, 2008  相似文献

Fused azobenzene–boron complexes (BAzs) show highly efficient near‐infrared (NIR) emission from the nitrogen–nitrogen double bond (N=N) containing π‐conjugated copolymer. Optical measurements showed that BAz worked as a strong electron acceptor because of the intrinsic electron deficiency of the N=N double bond and the boron–nitrogen (B?N) coordination which dramatically lowered the energy of the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) of the azobenzene ligand. The simple donor–acceptor (D–A) type copolymer of bithiophene (BT) and BAz exhibited intense photoluminescence (PL) in the NIR region both in the dilute solution (λPL=751 nm, ΦPL=0.25) and in the film (λPL=821 nm, ΦPL=0.038). The BAz monomer showed slight PL in the dilute solution, and aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) was detected. We proposed that N=N double bonds should be attractive and functional building blocks for designing π‐conjugated materials.  相似文献

A set of monodisperse bent donor–acceptor–donor‐type conjugated borazine oligomers, BnNn+1 (n=1–4), incorporating electron‐rich triarylamine donor and electron‐deficient triarylborane acceptor units has been prepared through an iterative synthetic approach that takes advantage of highly selective silicon–boron and tin–boron exchange reactions. The effect of chain elongation on the electrochemical, one‐ and two‐photon properties and excited‐state photodynamics has been investigated. Strong intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) from the arylamine donors to boryl‐centered acceptor sites results in emissions with high quantum yields (Φfl>0.5) in the range of 400–500 nm. Solvatochromic effects lead to solvent shifts as large as ~70 nm for the shortest member (n=1) and gradually decrease with chain elongation. The oligomers exhibit strong two‐photon absorption (2PA) in the visible spectral region with 2PA cross sections as large as 1410 GM (n=4), and broadband excited‐state absorption (ESA) attributed to long‐lived singlet–singlet and radical cation/anion absorption. The excited‐state dynamics also show sensitivity to the solvent environment. Electrochemical observations and DFT calculations (B3LYP/6‐31G*) reveal spatially separated HOMO and LUMO levels resulting in highly fluorescent oligomers with strong ICT character. The BnNn+1 oligomers have been used to demonstrate the detection of cyanide anions with association constants of log K>7.  相似文献

A n‐type conjugated polymer containing naphthalene diimide (NDI) and 1,3,4‐thiadiazole (TZ) moieties, named PNTZ, has been synthesized and applied for all‐polymer solar cells (all‐PSCs). By the incorporation of TZ unit into the polymer main chains, the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital level of this polymer has been adjusted effectively. In addition, the electron‐acceptor PNTZ shows a broad absorption spectrum in the range of 300–700 nm, and possesses complementary absorption spectrum with the electron‐donor PTB7‐Th. On the basis of PNTZ as the acceptor and PTB7‐Th as the donor, the all‐PSCs are fabricated. After optimization, the well blend morphologies with a continuous D/A interpenetrating network are observed and the best all‐PSC device exhibits a power conversion efficiency of 4.35% with a high short‐circuit current density of 13.26 mA cm?2. This research demonstrates that the TZ‐containing polymer PNTZ is a promising non‐fullerene acceptor for high efficiency all‐PSCs. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part B: Polym. meso‐Tritolylcorrole‐functionalized single‐walled carbon nanotubes (TTC‐SWNT) donor‐acceptor (D–A) heterojunction nanocomposite film was fabricated on a polycarbonate membrane through filtration and non‐covalent functionalization, providing an excellent sensing platform with low‐cost, high flexibility and good gas accessibility. The TTC‐SWNTs nanocomposite displays a fast and sensitive response to nitrogen dioxide with a limit of detection of 10 ppb (S/N=3). The sensing response was significantly amplified compared to the unmodified one, which was ascribed to a D–A heterojunction at the interface between electron donor TTC and electron acceptor SWNTs. This study provides a simple route to fabricate low‐cost and highly sensitive donor‐acceptor nanocomposite‐based gas sensors.  相似文献

A series of D ‐π‐A organic dendritic and star‐shaped molecules based on three various chromophores (i.e., the truxene nodes, triphenylamine moieties as the donor, and benzothiadiazole chromophore as the acceptor) and their corresponding model compounds are facilely developed. Their photophysical and electrochemical properties are investigated in detail by UV/Vis absorption and photoluminescent spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. By changing the various conjugated spacers (i.e., single bond, double bond, and triple bond) among the three chromophores of dendritic series, their photophysical properties (that is, the one‐photon absorption range and two‐photon absorption cross‐section values) are effectively modulated. All D ‐π‐A conjugated oligomers show a broad and strong absorption band from 250 to 700 nm in thin films. Solution‐processed bulk‐heterojunction photovoltaic devices using our oligomer as donor and PCBM as acceptor are fabricated and measured. The power conversion efficiency of the devices based on our oligomers continuously increases from DBTTr to TRTD2A as a result of an increasing relative absorption intensity in longer wavelength region by changing the donor‐acceptor ratio and conjugated spacers between the donor and acceptor. The power conversion efficiency of the devices based on TRTD2A was 0.54 % under the illumination of AM 1.5 and 100 mW cm?2, which is the highest value recorded based on D ‐π‐A conjugated oligomers containing triphenylamine moieties and benzothiadiazole chromophores with truxene to date.  相似文献

Herein, two new quadrupolar acceptor‐π‐donor‐π‐acceptor (A‐π‐D‐π‐A) chromophores have been prepared featuring a strongly electron‐donating diborene core and strongly electron‐accepting dimesitylboryl (BMes2) and bis(2,4,6‐tris(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)boryl (BFMes2) end groups. Analysis of the compounds by NMR spectroscopy, X‐ray crystallography, cyclic voltammetry, and UV/Vis‐NIR absorption and emission spectroscopy indicated that the compounds have extended conjugated π‐systems spanning their B4C8 cores. The combination of exceptionally potent π‐donor (diborene) and π‐acceptor (diarylboryl) groups, both based on trigonal boron, leads to very small HOMO–LUMO gaps, resulting in strong absorption in the near‐IR region with maxima in THF at 840 and 1092 nm and very high extinction coefficients of ca. 120 000 m ?1 cm?1. Both molecules also display weak near‐IR fluorescence with small Stokes shifts.  相似文献

Two n‐type conjugated D‐A copolymers, P(TVT‐NDI) and P(FVF‐NDI) with thienylene‐vinylene‐thienylene (TVT) or furanylene‐vinylene‐furanylene (FVF) as donor (D) units and naphthalene diimide (NDI) as the acceptor (A) units, were synthesized by the Stille coupling copolymerization. The two polymers possess good solubility, high thermal stability, and broad absorption bands with absorption edges at 866 nm for P(TVT‐NDI) and 886 nm for P(FVF‐NDI) . The LUMO energy levels of P(TVT‐NDI) and P(FVF‐NDI) are ?3.80 eV and ?3.76 eV respectively, so the two polymers are suitable for the application as acceptor in blending with most polymer donor in PSCs based on the energy level matching point of view. All polymer solar cells (all‐PSCs) were fabricated with P(TVT‐NDI) or P(FVF‐NDI) as acceptor and medium bandgap polymer J51 as donor for investigating the photovoltaic performance of the two n‐type conjugated polymer acceptors. And higher power conversion efficiency of 6.43% for P(TVT‐NDI) and 5.21% for P(FVF‐NDI) was obtained. The results indicate that arylenevinylenearylene–naphthalene diimide copolymer are promising polymer acceptor for all–PSCs. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. A new‐type of donor–acceptor π‐conjugated (D‐π‐A) fluorescent dyes NI3 – NI8 with a pyridine ring as electron‐withdrawing‐injecting anchoring group have been developed and their photovoltaic performances in dye‐sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are investigated. The short‐circuit photocurrent densities and solar energy‐to‐electricity conversion yields of DSSCs based on NI3 – NI8 are greater than those for the conventional D‐π‐A dye sensitizers NI1 and NI2 with a carboxyl group as the electron‐withdrawing anchoring group. The IR spectra of NI3 – NI8 adsorbed on TiO2 indicate the formation of coordinate bonds between the pyridine ring of dyes NI3 – NI8 and the Lewis acid sites (exposed Tin+ cations) of the TiO2 surface. This work demonstrates that the pyridine rings of D‐π‐A dye sensitizers that form a coordinate bond with the Lewis acid site of a TiO2 surface are promising candidates as not only electron‐withdrawing anchoring group but also electron‐injecting group, rather than the carboxyl groups of the conventional D‐π‐A dye sensitizers that form an ester linkage with the Brønsted acid sites of the TiO2 surface.  相似文献

A series of donor‐π‐acceptor (D‐π‐A) conjugated copolymers ( PBDT‐AT, PDTS‐AT, PBDT‐TT , and PDTS‐TT ), based on benzo[1,2‐b:4,5‐c']dithiophene‐4,8‐dione (BDD) acceptor unit with benzodithiophene (BDT) or dithienosilole (DTS) as donor unit, alkylthiophene (AT) or thieno[3,2‐b]thiophene (TT) as conjugated π‐bridge, were designed and synthesized for application as donor materials in polymer solar cells (PSCs). Effects of the donor unit and π‐bridge on the optical and electrochemical properties, hole mobilities, and photovoltaic performance of the D‐π‐A copolymers were investigated. PSCs with the polymers as donor and PC70BM as acceptor exhibit an initial power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 5.46% for PBDT‐AT , 2.62% for PDTS‐AT , 0.82% for PBDT‐TT , and 2.38% for PDTS‐TT . After methanol treatment, the PCE was increased up to 5.91%, 3.06%, 1.45%, and 2.45% for PBDT‐AT, PDTS‐AT, PBDT‐TT , and PDTS‐TT , respectively, with significantly increased FF. The effects of methanol treatment on the photovoltaic performance of the PSCs can be ascribed to the increased and balanced carrier transport and the formation of better nanoscaled interpenetrating network in the active layer. The results indicate that both donor unit and π‐bridge are crucial in designing a D‐π‐A copolymer for high‐performance photovoltaic materials. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. The development of disilane‐bridged donor–acceptor–donor (D‐Si‐Si‐A‐Si‐Si‐D) and acceptor–donor–acceptor (A‐Si‐Si‐D‐Si‐Si‐A) compounds is described. Both types of compound showed strong emission (λem=ca. 500 and ca. 400 nm, respectively) in the solid state with high quantum yields (Φ: up to 0.85). Compound 4 exhibited aggregation‐induced emission enhancement in solution. X‐ray diffraction revealed that the crystal structures of 2 , 4 , and 12 had no intermolecular π–π interactions to suppress the nonradiative transition in the solid state.  相似文献

Donor–acceptor (D–A) conjugated copolymers are one of known classes of organic optoelectronic materials and have been well developed. However, less attention has been paid on acceptor–acceptor (A–A) conjugated analogs. In this work, two types of A–A conjugated copolymers, namely P1‐Cn and P2‐Cn (n is the carbon number of their alkyl side chains), were designed and synthesized based on perylenediimide ( PDI ) and 2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole ( BT ). Different from P1‐Cn , P2‐Cn polymers have additional acetylene π‐spacers between PDI and BT and thus hold a more planar backbone configuration. Property studies revealed that P2‐Cn polymers possess a much red‐extended UV–vis absorption spectrum, stronger π–π interchain interactions, and one‐order larger electron mobility in their neat film state than P1‐Cn . However, all‐polymer solar cells using P1‐Cn as acceptor component and poly(3‐hexyl thiophene) or poly(2,7‐(9,9‐didodecyl‐fluoene)‐alt?5,5′‐(4,7‐dithienyl‐2‐yl‐2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole) as donor component exhibited much better performance than those based on P2‐Cn . Apart from their backbone chemical structure, the side chains were found to have little influence on the photophysical, electrochemical, and photovoltaic properties for both P1‐Cn and P2‐Cn polymers. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two donor–acceptor (D‐A) conjugated polymers, PQx and PphQx, composed of alkylthienyl‐substituted benzo[1,2‐b:4,5‐b']dithiophene (BDTT) as the electron donor and the new electron acceptors quinoxaline (Qx) or phenanthrenequinoxaline (phQx), were synthesized with Stille cross‐coupling reactions. The number‐averaged molecular weights (Mn) of PQx and PphQx were found to be 25.1 and 23.2 kDa, respectively, with a dispersity of 2.6. The band‐gap energies of PQx and PphQx are 1.82 and 1.75 eV, respectively. These results indicate that, because phQx units have highly planar structures, their inclusion in D‐A polymers will be a very effective method for increasing the polymers' effective conjugation lengths. The hole mobilities of PQx and PphQx were determined to be 5.0 × 10?5 and 2.2 × 10?4 cm2 V?1 s?1, respectively. A polymer solar cell device prepared with PphQx as the active layer was found to exhibit a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 5.03%; thus, the introduction of phQx units enhanced both the short circuit current density and PCE of the device. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Studies are reported on a series of triphenylamine–(C?C)n–2,5‐diphenyl‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole dyad molecules (n=1–4, 1 , 2 , 3 and 4 , respectively) and the related triphenylamine‐C6H4–(C?C)3–oxadiazole dyad 5 . The oligoyne‐linked D–π–A (D=electron donor, A=electron acceptor) dyad systems have been synthesised by palladium‐catalysed cross‐coupling of terminal alkynyl and butadiynyl synthons with the corresponding bromoalkynyl moieties. Cyclic voltammetric studies reveal a reduction in the HOMO–LUMO gap in the series of compounds 1 – 4 as the oligoyne chain length increases, which is consistent with extended conjugation through the elongated bridges. Photophysical studies provide new insights into conjugative effects in oligoyne molecular wires. In non‐polar solvents the emission from these dyad systems has two different origins: a locally excited (LE) state, which is responsible for a π*→π fluorescence, and an intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) state, which produces charge‐transfer emission. In polar solvents the LE state emission vanishes and only ICT emission is observed. This emission displays strong solvatochromism and analysis according to the Lippert–Mataga–Oshika formalism shows significant ICT for all the luminescent compounds with high efficiency even for the longer more conjugated systems. The excited‐state properties of the dyads in non‐polar solvents vary with the extent of conjugation. For more conjugated systems a fast non‐radiative route dominates the excited‐state decay and follows the Engelman–Jortner energy gap law. The data suggest that the non‐radiative decay is driven by the weak coupling limit.  相似文献

Random donor‐acceptor (D‐A) supramolecular comb polymers were formed when hydroxyl functionalized donor and acceptor small molecules based on Oligo(phenylenevinylene) (named OPVCN‐OH ) and Perylenebisimide (named UPBI‐PDP ), respectively, were complexed with Poly(4‐vinyl pyridine) (P4VP). A series of random D‐A supramolecular comb polymers were formed by varying the ratios of UPBI‐PDP and OPVCN‐OH with P4VP. A 100% P4VP‐donor polymer complex [ P4VP(OPV1.00 )] and a 100% P4VP‐acceptor polymer complex [ P4VP(UPBI1.00 )] were also synthesized and characterized. Complex formation was confirmed by FT‐IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. Solid state structural studies carried out using small angle X‐ray scattering and wide angle X‐ray diffraction experiments revealed altered packing of the D and A molecules in the complexes. Transmission electron microscopy images showed lamellar structures in the < 10 nm scale for the P4VP(OPV1.00 ), P4VP(UPBI1.00 ), and mixed P4VP (D‐A) complexes. The effect of the nanoscopic D‐A self‐assembly on the bulk mobility of the materials was probed using SCLC measurements. The mixed D‐A random complexes exhibited ambipolar charge transport characteristics with higher values for the average bulk hole mobility estimate. P4VP(OPV0.25 + UPBI0.75) exhibited an average hole mobility in the order of 10?2cm2 V?1 s?1 and electron mobility 10?5cmV?1 s?1. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. The kinetics of (3+2) cycloaddition reactions of 18 different donor–acceptor cyclopropanes with the same aldehyde were studied by in situ NMR spectroscopy. Increasing the electron density of the donor residue accelerates the reaction by a factor of up to 50 compared to the standard system (donor group=phenyl), whereas electron‐withdrawing substituents slow down the reaction by a factor up to 660. This behavior is in agreement with the Hammett substituent parameter σ. The obtained rate constants from the (3+2) cycloadditions correlate well with data from additionally studied (3+n) cycloadditions with a nitrone (n=3) and an isobenzofuran (n=4). A comparison of the kinetic data with the bond lengths in the cyclopropane (obtained by X‐ray diffraction and computation), or the 1H and 13C NMR shifts, revealed no correlation. However, the computed relaxed force constants of donor–acceptor cyclopropanes proved to be a good indicator for the reactivity of the three‐membered ring.  相似文献
