A carbon paste electrode, modified with 2, 2′-[1,7-hepthandiylbis(nitriloethylidyne)]-bis-hydroquinone and TiO2 nanoparticles, was used for the simultaneous determination of dopamine (DA), uric acid (UA), and l-cysteine. The study was carried out by using cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and square wave voltammetry (SWV) techniques. Some kinetic parameters such as the electron transfer coefficient (α) and heterogeneous rate constant (ks) were also determined for the DA oxidation. A dynamic range of 8.0–1400 μM, with the detection limit of 8.4 × 10−7 M for DA, was obtained using SWV (pH = 7.0). The prepared electrode was successfully applied for the determination of DA, UA, and l-cysteine in real samples.  相似文献

In this work, we investigate the electrochemical activity of dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) using both a bare and a modified carbon paste electrode as the working electrode, with a platinum wire as the counter electrode and a silver/silver chloride (Ag/AgCl) as the reference electrode. The modified carbon paste electrode consists of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (>95%) treated with α-cyclodextrine, resulting in an electrode that exhibits a significant catalytic effect toward the electro-chemical oxidation of DA in a 0.2-M Britton–Robinson buffer solution (pH 5.0). The peak current increases linearly with the DA concentration within the molar concentration ranges of 2.0 × 10−6 to 5.0 × 10−5 M and 5.0 × 10−5 to 1.9 × 10−4 M. The detection limit (signal to noise >3) for DA was found to be 1.34 × 10−7 M, respectively. In this work, voltammetric methods such as cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, chronocuolometry, differential pulse and square wave voltammetry, and linear sweep and hydrodynamic voltammetry were used. Cyclic voltammetry was used to investigate the redox properties of the modified electrode at various scan rates. The diffusion coefficient (D, cm2 s−1 = 3.05 × 10−5) and the kinetic parameters such as the electron transfer coefficient (α = 0.51) and the rate constant (k, cm3 mol−1 s−1 = 1.8 × 103) for DA were determined using electrochemical approaches. By using differential pulse voltammetry for simultaneous measurements, we obtained two peaks for DA and UA in the same solution, with the peak separation approximately 136 mV. The average recovery was measured at 102.45% for DA injection.  相似文献

The preparation and electrochemical characterization of a carbon nanotube paste electrode modified with 2,2′-[1,2-ethanediylbis (nitriloethylidyne)]-bis-hydroquinone, referred to as EBNBH, was investigated. The EBNBH carbon nanotube paste electrode (EBNBHCNPE) displayed one pair of reversible peaks at E pa = 0.18 V and E pc = 0.115 V vs Ag/AgCl. Half wave potential (E 1/2) and ΔE p were 0.148 and 0.065 V vs Ag/AgCl, respectively. The electrocatalytic oxidation of ascorbic acid (AA) has been studied on EBNBHCNPE, using cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry and chronoamperometry techniques. It has been shown that the oxidation of AA occurs at a potential where oxidation is not observed at the unmodified carbon paste electrode. The heterogeneous rate constant for oxidation of AA at the EBNBHCNPE was also determined and found to be about 1.07 × 10−3 cm s−1. The diffusion coefficient of AA was also estimated as 5.66 × 10−6 cm2 s−1 for the experimental conditions, using chronoamperometry. Also, this modified electrode presented the property of electrocatalysing the oxidation of AA and uric acid (UA) at 0.18 and 0.35 V vs Ag/AgCl, respectively. The separations of anodic peak potentials of AA and UA reached 0.17 V. Using differential pulse voltammetry, the calibration curves for AA and UA were obtained over the range of 0.1–800 μM and 20–700 μM, respectively. With good selectivity and sensitivity, the present method provides a simple method for selective detection of AA and UA in biological samples.  相似文献

This paper describes the use of an aluminum electrode plated by metallic palladium and modified by Prussian blue (PB/Pd-Al) in the electrocatalytic reduction of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The effect of pH on the electroreduction of H2O2 on the modified electrode is investigated and a simple irreversible reduction pathway is suggested. The electroreduction kinetics including transfer coefficient α, potential-dependent charge transfer rate constants k f, and diffusion coefficient D are estimated by means of forced hydrodynamic voltammetry using a rotating disk PB/Pd-Al electrode. The mean values obtained for kinetics are 0.38, 10−2 cm−1, and 7.6 × 10−6 cm2 s−1, respectively. The long-term stability of the modifying layers on the Al substrate was studied.  相似文献

A simple method was used to fabricate flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD)/NiOx nanocomposite on the surface of glassy carbon (GC) electrode. Cyclic voltammetry technique was applied for deposition nickel oxide nanostructures onto GC surface. Owing to its high biocompatibility and large surface area of nickel oxide nanomaterials with immersing the GC/NiOx-modified electrode into FAD solution for a short period of time, 10–140 s, a stable thin layer of the FAD molecules immobilized onto electrode surface. The FAD/NiOx films exhibited a pair of well-defined, stable, and nearly reversible CV peaks at wide pH range (2–10). The formal potential of adsorbed FAD onto nickel oxide nanoparticles film, E o′ vs. Ag/AgCl reference electrode is −0.44 V in pH 7 buffer solutions was similar to dissolved FAD and changed linearly with a slope of 58.6 mV/pH in the pH range 2–10. The surface coverage and heterogeneous electron transfer rate constant (k s ) of FAD immobilized on NiOx film glassy carbon electrode are 4.66 × 10−11 mol cm−2 and 63 ± 0.1 s−1, indicating the high loading ability of the nickel oxide nanoparticles and great facilitation of the electron transfer between FAD and nickel oxide nanoparticles. FAD/NiOx nanocomposite-modified GC electrode shows excellent electrocatalytic activity toward S2O82− reduction at reduced overpotential. Furthermore, rotated modified electrode illustrates good analytical performance for amperometric detection of S2O82−. Under optimized condition, the concentration calibration range, detection limit, and sensitivity were 3 μM–1.5 mM, 0.38 μM and 16.6 nA/μM, respectively.  相似文献

Cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and rotating disk electrode voltammetry were used to investigate the electrochemical behavior of thiobencarb (TB) at carbon paste electrode modified with an azo dye, 2-(4-((4-ethoxyphenyl)diazenyl)phenylamino)ethanol (EDPE), EDPE/modified carbon paste electrode (MCPE). The modified electrode showed high electrocatalytic activity toward thiobencarb. The current was enhanced significantly relative to the situation prevailing when a bare glassy carbon electrode was used. The kinetics parameters of this process were calculated, the apparent electron transfer rate constant k s and α (charge transfer coefficient between electrode and EDPE) were 14.6 s−1 and 0.48, respectively. The experimental parameters were optimized, and the mechanism of the catalytic process was discussed. The best defined cathodic peak was obtained with 0.1 M acetate buffer (pH 3.0). The response of the sensor was very quick, and response time was approximately 5 s. The differential pulse voltammetry response of the MCPE was linear against the concentration of TB in the range of 0.96 to 106 μg L−1. The limit of detection was found to be 0.025 μg L−1. The precision was examined by carrying out eight replicate measurements at a concentration of 25 μg L−1 TB; the relative standard deviation was 2.9%.  相似文献

A p-duroquinone (tetramethyl-p-benzoquinone) modified carbon paste electrode (DMCPE) was employed to study the electrocatalytic reduction of nitrite in aqueous solutions using cyclic voltammetry (CV), double potential-step chronoamperometry, and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). It has found that under an optimum condition (pH 1.00), the reduction of nitrite at the surface of DMCPE occurs at a potential of about 660 mV less negative than that of an unmodified carbon paste electrode (CPE). The catalytic rate constant, kh, based on Andrieux and Saveant theoretical model was calculated as for scan rate 10 mV s-1. Also, the apparent diffusion coefficient, D app, was found as 2.5 × 10–10 and 3.61 × 10–5 cm2 s-1 for p-duroquinone in carbon paste matrix and nitrite in aqueous buffered solution, respectively. The values for αnα were estimated to be −0.65 and −0.19 for the reduction of nitrite at the surface of DMCPE and CPE, respectively. The electrocatalytic reduction peak currents showed a linear dependence on the nitrite concentration, and a linear analytical curve was obtained in the ranges of 5.0 × 10–5 M to 8.0 × 10–3 M and 6.0 × 10–6 M to 8.0 × 10–4 M of nitrite concentration with CV and DPV methods, respectively. The detection limits (2σ) were determined as 2.5 × 10–5 M and 4.3 × 10–6 M by CV and DPV methods. This method was also applied as a simple, selective and precise method for determination of nitrite in real samples (the weak liquor from the wood and paper factory of Mazandaran province in Iran) by using a standard addition method.  相似文献

Electrochemical investigations of the reaction mechanism and kinetics between riboflavin immobilised on zirconium phosphate (ZPRib) in carbon paste and NADH showed results yielding reliable information about aspects on the mechanism of the electron transfer reaction between the flavin and NADH. The formal potential (E°′) of the adsorbed riboflavin was −220 mV versus SCE at pH 7.0. A shift about 250 mV towards a more positive potential compared with its value in solution was assigned to the interaction between the basic nitrogen of riboflavin and the acid groups of ZP. The invariance of the E°′ with the pH of the contacting solution and the effect of different buffer constituents were attributed to the protection effect of ZP over the riboflavin. The electrocatalytic oxidation of NADH at the electrode was investigated using cyclic voltammetry and rotating disk electrode methodology using a potential of −50 mV versus SCE. The heterogeneous electron transfer rate constant, k obs, was 816 M−1 s−1 and the Michaelis-Menten constant, K M, was 1.8 mM (confirming a charge transfer complex intermediate in the reaction) for an electrode with a riboflavin coverage of 6.8 × 10−10 mol cm−2. This drastic increase in the reaction rate between NADH and the immobilised riboflavin was assigned to the shift of the E°′. A surprising effect with addition of calcium or magnesium ion to the solution was also observed. The E°′ was shifted to −150 mV versus SCE and the reaction rate for NADH oxidation increased drastically. Received: 22 February 1999 / Accepted: 10 March 1999  相似文献

In this study, stable and homogenous thin films of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were obtained on conducting surface using ciprofloxacin (CF, fluoroquinolone antibiotic) as an effective-dispersing agent. Further, MWCNTs/CF film modified electrodes (glassy carbon and indium tin oxide-coated glass electrode) are used successfully to study the direct electrochemistry of proteins. Here, cytochrome C (Cyt-C) was used as a model protein for investigation. A MWCNTs/CF film modified electrode was used as a biocompatible material for immobilization of Cyt-C from a neutral buffer solution (pH 7.2) using cyclic voltammetry (CV). Interestingly, Cyt-C retained its native state on the MWCNTs/CF film. The Cyt-C adsorbed MWCNTs/CF film was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV–visible spectrophotometry (UV-vis) and CV. SEM images showed the evidence for the adsorption of Cyt-C on the MWCNTs/CF film, and UV–vis spectrum confirmed that Cyt-C was in its native state on MWCNTs/CF film. Using CV, it was found that the electrochemical signal of Cyt-C was highly stable in the neutral buffer solution and its redox peak potential was pH dependent. The formal potential (−0.27 V) and electron transfer rate constant (13 ± 1 s−1) were calculated for Cyt-C on MWCNTs/CF film modified electrode. A potential application of the Cyt-C/MWCNTs/CF electrode as a biosensor to monitor H2O2 has been investigated. The steady-state current response increases linearly with H2O2 concentration from 2 × 10−6 to 7.8 × 10−5 M. The detection limit for determination of H2O2 has been found to be 1.0 × 10−6 M (S/N = 3). Thus, Cyt-C/MWCNTs/CF film modified electrode can be used as a biosensing material for sensor applications.  相似文献

The preparation and electrochemical characterization of glassy carbon electrodes modified with plumbagin were investigated by employing cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and rotating disc electrode techniques. The cyclic voltammograms of the electroreduction of oxygen showed an enhanced current peak at approximately −0.289 V in air-saturated phosphate buffer pH = 7 and scan rate 10 mV s−1. The thermodynamic and kinetic parameters of the reduction of oxygen at glassy carbon have been evaluated using cyclic voltammetry. The experimental parameters were optimized and the mechanism of the catalytic process was discussed. The obtained values of E°′ (V vs. Ag/AgCl), the apparent electron transfer rate constant ks (s−1), heterogeneous rate constant for the reduction of O2 at the surface of the modified electrode kh (M−1 s−1) and α (charge transfer coefficient of oxygen) were as follows: −0.146, 23.4, 9.9 × 103 and 0.57, respectively. In addition, plumbagin exhibited strong catalytic activity toward the reduction of H2O2.  相似文献

A novel hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) biosensor was developed by immobilizing hemoglobin on the gold colloid modified electrochemical pretreated glassy carbon electrode (PGCE) via the bridging of an ethylenediamine monolayer. This biosensor was characterized by UV-vis reflection spectroscopy (UV-vis), electrochemical impendence spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). The immobilized Hb exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity for hydrogen peroxide. The Michaelis–Menten constant (K m) was 3.6 mM. The currents were proportional to the H2O2 concentration from 2.6 × 10−7 to 7.0 × 10−3 M, and the detection limit was as low as 1.0 × 10−7 M (S/N = 3).  相似文献

Simultaneous determination of catechol (CC) and hydroquinone (HQ) were investigated by voltammetry based on glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified by poly (diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA) functionalized graphene (PDDA-G). The modified electrode showed excellent sensitivity and selectivity properties for the two dihydroxybenzene isomers. In 0.1 mol/L phosphate buffer solution (PBS, pH 7.0), the oxidation peak potential difference between CC and HQ was 108 mV, and the peaks on the PDDA-G/GCE were three times as high as the ones on graphene-modified glass carbon electrode. Under optimized conditions, the PDDA-G/GCE showed wide linear behaviors in the range of 1 × 10−6−4 × 10−4 mol/L for CC and 1 × 10−6−5 × 10−4 mol/L for HQ, with the detection limits 2.0 × 10−7 mol/L for CC and 2.5 × 10−7 mol/L for HQ (S/N = 3) in mixture, respectively. Some kinetic parameters, such as the electron transfer number (n), charge transfer coefficient (α), and the apparent heterogeneous electron transfer rate constant (k s), were calculated. The proposed method was applied to simultaneous determine CC and HQ in real water samples of Yellow River with satisfactory results.  相似文献

In this work, we describe an electrochemical method using p-chloranil as a mediator and multi-wall carbon nanotube and TiO2 as sensors for sensitive determination of epinephrine (EP) in aqueous solution at pH = 10.0. It has been found that under optimum condition (pH 10.0) in cyclic voltammetry, the oxidation of EP occurred at a potential about 171 mV less positive than that unmodified carbon nanotube paste electrode. The diffusion coefficient (D) and the kinetic parameters, such as electron transfer coefficient, (α) and heterogeneous rate constant (k h) for EP were also determined using electrochemical approaches. The electrocatalytic currents increase linearly with the EP concentration over the range 0.6–135 μM. The detection limits for EP will be equal to 0.25 μM. The relative standard deviation percentage values for 10.0 and 15.0 μM EP were 1.7% and 1.9%, respectively. Finally, this modified electrode was also examined as a selective, simple, and precise new electrochemical sensor for the determination of EP in real sample such as urine and epinephrine injection solution.  相似文献

This paper describes the use of an aluminum electrode covered by metallic palladium and modified by Prussian blue prepared by a simple and rapid electroless method for the electro-oxidation of morphine. Two different pathways for electro-oxidation of morphine at various pH ranges were suggested. Also, some thermodynamic and kinetic parameters such as the number of electrons involved in the rate determining step, n α , transfer coefficient α, and the total electrons (n) involved in morphine oxidation at the time scale of the cyclic voltammetric technique, the catalytic rate constant of the electrochemical process k, and diffusion coefficient of morphine D were determined. The mean values obtained are 0.5, 0.5, 1, 26.8 M-1 s-1 and 3.1 × 10−5 cm2 s−1, respectively.  相似文献

The electrochemical behaviour of pyridoxine hydrochloride (pyridoxine HCl) at the plain carbon paste electrode and the electrode modified with oxa crown ether has been studied using voltammetric and impedance measurements. The macrocycles used as modifiers were 18-crown-6, dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6), dicyclohexano-18-crown-6 and dibenzo-24-crown-8, out of which DB18C6 gave better response for pyridoxine HCl. Tris buffer (pH 10.3) was chosen as an appropriate medium among the several supporting electrolytes of varying pH studied. The characterization of the DB18C6-modified electrode (CME-DB18C6) using kinetic parameters such as number of electrons (n) and electron transfer coefficient (α) is studied by cyclic voltammetry. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopic measurements obtained confirm the current enhancement over the modified electrode. Analytical applications of this electrode have been studied for the determination of pyridoxine HCl. A sensitive linear working range of 0.6 to 100 μg cm−3 with a detection limit of 0.4 μg cm−3 by differential pulse voltammetry was observed for pyridoxine HCl on CME-DB18C6. However, on decreasing the scan rate to 5 mV s−1, the detection limit lowered to 0.2 μg cm−3. Interference from some vitamins like thiamine hydrochloride, riboflavin, nicotinamide, para-aminobenzoic acid, cyanocobalamin, folic acid and d-biotin and amino acid l-tryptophan was studied, and simultaneously, riboflavin, thiamine hydrochloride and pyridoxine HCl were determined over the modified electrode, CME-DB18C6. The modified electrode is successfully used for the determination of pyridoxine HCl in multivitamin pharmaceutical preparations.  相似文献

The potential application of ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC)-modified glassy carbon electrode (OMC/GCE) in electrochemistry as a novel electrode material was investigated. X-ray diffraction, transmission electron micrographs, and cyclic voltammetry were used to characterize the structure and electrochemical behaviors of this material. Compared to GC electrode, the peak currents of potassium ferricyanide (K3[Fe(CN)6]) increase and the peak potential separation (ΔE p) decreases at the OMC/GC electrode. These phenomena suggest that OMC-modified GC electrode possesses larger electrode area and faster electron transfer rate, as compared with bare GC electrode. Furthermore, riboflavin was detected using OMC/GC electrode in aqueous solutions. The results showed that, under an optimum condition (pH 7.0), the OMC/GC electrode exhibited excellent response performance to riboflavin in the concentration range of 4.0 × 10−7 to 1.0 × 10−6 M with a high sensitivity of 769 μA mM−1. The detection limit was down to around 2 × 10−8 M. With good stability and reproducibility, the present OMC/GC electrode was applied in the determination of vitamin B2 content in vitamin tablets, and satisfactory results were obtained.  相似文献

The transfer of the α-hydroxy-carboxylates of glycolic, lactic, mandelic and gluconic acid from the aqueous electrolyte phase into an organic 4-(3-phenylpropyl)-pyridine (PPP) phase is studied at a triple-phase boundary electrode system. The tetraphenylporphyrinato complex MnTPP dissolved in PPP is employed to drive the anion transfer reaction and naphthalene-2-boronic acid (NBA) is employed as a facilitator. In the absence of a facilitator, the ability of α-hydroxy-carboxylates to transfer into the organic phase improves, consistent with hydrophobicity considerations giving relative transfer potentials (for aqueous 0.1 M solution) of gluconate>glycolate>lactate>mandelate. In the presence of NBA, a shift of the reversible transfer potential to more negative values is indicating fast reversible binding (the mechanism for the electrode process is EICrev) and the binding constants are determined as K glycolate = 2 M−1, K mandelate = 60 M−1, K lactate = 130 M−1 and K gluconate = 2,000 M−1. The surprisingly strong interaction for gluconate is rationalised based on secondary interactions between the gluconate anion and NBA.  相似文献

Abstract

This paper describes microwave-assisted synthesis of a new MFI-type zeolite, Zeolite Secony Mobile (ZSM-5), its characterization by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and its application for fabrication of a modified carbon paste electrode. This novel electrode was employed for sensitive and simultaneous determination of dopamine and uric acid at biological pH (pH 7.0). The results show that this zeolite-modified carbon paste electrode significantly improves the electron transfer rate and reduces the overpotential of dopamine and uric acid oxidation without any fouling effect due to deposition of their oxidized products. The linear analytical curves were obtained in the ranges of 9.0 × 10−6–4.9 × 10−4 and 8.0 × 10−6–9.0 × 10−4 M for dopamine and uric acid, respectively, by using differential pulse voltammetry based on oxidation of these biomolecules. The detection limits (2σ) were determined for dopamine and uric acid as 7.9 × 10−6 and 7.1 × 10−6 M, respectively. This method has been successfully employed for quantification of dopamine and uric acid in real samples.  相似文献

A new modified electrode was prepared by electrodeposition of caffeic acid (CFA) at the surface of an activated glassy carbon electrode. Cyclic voltammetry was used to investigate the redox properties of this electrode at various solution pH values and at various scan rates. The pH dependence of the electrode response was found to be 58.5 mV/pH, which is very close to the expected Nernstian value. The electrode was also employed to study electrocatalytic oxidation of reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH), using cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and rotating disk voltammetry as diagnostic techniques. It was found that the modified electrode exhibits potent and persistent electrocatalytic properties toward NADH oxidation in phosphate buffer solution (pH 7.0) with a diminution of the overpotential of about 450 mV compared to the process at an unmodified electrode. The electrocatalytic current increases linearly with NADH concentration in the range tested from 0.05 to 1.0 mM. The apparent charge transfer rate constant and transfer coefficient for electron transfer between the electrode surface and immobilized CFA were calculated as 11.2 s−1 and 0.43, respectively. The heterogeneous rate constant for oxidation of NADH at the CFA-modified electrode surface was also determined and found to be about 3 × 103 M−1 s−1. Finally, the diffusion coefficient of NADH was calculated as 3.24 × 10−6 cm2 s−1 for the experimental conditions, using chronoamperometric results. The electrochemical behaviors of metol on an ionic liquid N-butylpyridinium hexafluorophosphate modified carbon paste electrode (IL-CPE) were studied in this paper. The results indicated that a pair of well-defined quasi-reversible redox peaks of metol appeared with the decrease of overpotential and the increase of redox peak current, which was the characteristics of electrocatalytic oxidation. The electrocatalytic mechanism was discussed and the electrochemical parameters were calculated with results of the charge-transfer coefficient (α) as 0.45, the electrode reaction rate constant (k s) as 4.02 × 10−3 s−1, and the diffusion coefficient (D) as 6.35 × 10−5 cm2/s. Under the optimal conditions, the anodic peak current was linear with the metol concentration in the range of 5.0 × 10−6 ∼ 1.0 × 10−3 mol/L (n = 11, γ = 0.994) and the detection limit was estimated as 2.33 × 10−6 mol/L (3σ). The proposed method was successfully applied to determination of metol content in synthetic samples and photographic solutions.  相似文献
