The construction, performance characteristics, and application of polymeric membrane (PME) and coated graphite (CGE) thiocyanate‐selective electrodes are reported. The electrodes were prepared by incorporating the complex [Cu(L)](NO3)2 (L=4,7‐bis(3‐aminopropyl)‐1‐thia‐4,7‐diazacyclononane) into a plasiticized poly(vinyl chloride) membrane. The influence of membrane composition, pH of test solution, and foreign ions were investigated. The electrodes reveal Nernstian behavior over a wide SCN? ion concentration range (1.0×10?6–1.0×10?1 M for PME and 5.0×10?7–1.0×10?2 M for CGE) and show fast dynamic response times of 15 s and lower. The proposed sensors show high selectivity towards thiocyanate over several common organic and inorganic anions. They were successfully applied to the direct determination of thiocyanate in urine and saliva of smokers and nonsmokers, and as an indicator electrode in titration of Ag+ ions with thiocyanate.  相似文献

A highly selective membrane electrode for the determination of ultratrace amounts of lead was prepared. The PVC membrane electrode based on 2‐(2‐ethanoloxymethyl)‐1‐hydroxy‐9,10‐anthraquinone (AQ), directly coated on graphite, exhibits a good Nernstian response for Pb(II) ions over a very wide concentration range (1.0×10?7–1.0×10?2 M) with a limit of detection of 8.0×10?8 M. It has a fast response time of ca. 10 s and can be used over a period 2 months with good reproducibility (SD=±0.2 mV). The electrode revealed a very good selectivity respect to common alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions and could be used in the pH range of 3.5–6.8. It was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of lead ions with chromate and oxalate, and in indirect determination of lead in spring water samples.  相似文献

A recently synthesized azao‐containing Schiff's base N,N′‐adipylbis(5‐phenylazo salicylaldehyde hydrazone) was used as a suitable neutral ion carrier in construction of a highly selective La3+‐PVC membrane electrode. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian response with a slope of 19.4 mV decade?1 over a wide concentration range (1.0×10?6–1.0×10?2 M) and a limit of detection of 4.0×10?7 M (0.05 ppm). The electrode possesses a fast response time of ca. 10 s and can be used for at least 3 months without observing any deviation. The proposed electrode revealed excellent selectivity for La3+ over a wide variety of alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions and could be used in a pH range of 4.0–8.0. The practical utility of the electrode has been demonstrated by its use as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of La3+ ions with EDTA and in determination of F? ion in some pharmaceutical preparations.  相似文献

Novel polymeric membrane electrode (PME) and coated graphite electrode (CGE) for nickel ion were prepared based on 2,9-(2-methoxyaniline)2-4,11-Me2-[14]-1,4,8,11-tetraene-1,5,8,12-N4 as a suitable neutral ionophore. The addition of lipophilic anion excluder (NaTPB) and various plasticizers viz o-nitrophenyloctylether (o-NPOE), dioctylphthalate (DOP), dibutylphthalate (DBP), 1-chloronaphthalene (CN) and tri-n-butylphosphate (TBP) have found to improve the performance of the sensors. The best performance was obtained for the membrane sensor having a composition of I:NaTPB:TBP:PVC in the ratio 6:4:100:90 (w/w; mg). The electrodes exhibit Nernstian slopes for Ni2+ ions over wide concentration ranges of 4.6 × 10?7–1.0 × 10?1 M for PME and 7.7 × 10?8–1.0 × 10?1 M for CGE with limits of detection of 2.7 × 10?7 M for PME and 3.7 × 10?8 M for CGE. The response time for PME and CGE was found to be 10 and 8 s respectively. The potentiometric responses are independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 3.0–8.0. The proposed electrodes revealed good selectivities over a wide variety of other cations including alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The coated graphite electrode was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of nickel ion with EDTA and in direct determination in different fruit juices and wine samples.  相似文献

Abstract

Polymeric membrane electrodes (PMEs) and coated graphite electrodes (CGEs) containing 1,3,4-trisubstituted-2-azetidinone derivatives as ion carriers are reported here for bismuth(III) ion selectivity. These electrodes exhibited Nernstian response for Bi3+ ions over a wide concentration range (5.0 × 10?7 M to 1.0 × 10?1 M for CGE) with a lower detection limit of 3.98 × 10?7 M (for CGE) and wide pH range (1.3–5.0). Compared to polymeric membrane electrode, the coated graphite electrode has shown better selectivity for Bi3+ ions with respect to common metal ions. Proposed electrodes have been used for the estimation of Bi3+ ions in pharmaceutical and glass samples.  相似文献

A highly sensitive and selective membrane electrode with 9‐crown‐3 derivative (CD) as ionophore, potassium tetrakis‐(p‐chlorophenyl) borate as anionic additive (KTB), acetophenone (AP) as solvent mediator was prepared and investigated as a Be(II) sensor. The best performance was observed with the membrane having the percent ratio 30% PVC: 8% CD: 6% KTB: 56% Acetophenone. The poly(vinyl chloride) PVC membrane containing 9‐crown‐3 derivative (CD) directly coated on a graphite electrode, shows a Nernstian response for Be(II) ions over a very wide concentration range (1.0×10?1?1.0×10?7 M) with a detection limit of 8.0×10?8 M (ca. 0.72 ng/mL). It has a fast response time of ca. 20 s and can be used for at least 10 weeks without any major deviation in potential. The proposed sensor exhibits very good selectivity with respect to common alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The proposed sensor was used as end point indicator electrode in the titration of Be(II) ions with EDTA. It was also applied to determination of Be(II) in real sample.  相似文献

In this study, a potentiometric sensor based on a pencil graphite electrode (PGE) coated with polypyrrole doped with uranyl zinc acetate (termed PGE/PPy/U) have been prepared for potentiometric determination of uranyl in aqueous solutions. Electropolymerization reaction for preparing of U(VI) sensor electrode was carried via applying a constant current of 1.0 mA on PGA working electrode in a solution containing 8.0 mM pyrrole and 0.8 mM ZnUO2(CH3COO)4 salt. The constructed electrode displayed a linear and near Nernstian response (22.60 ± 0.40 mV/decade) to U(VI) ions in the concentration range of 1.0 × 10?6–1.0 × 10?2 M. A detection limit of 6.30 × 10?7 M and a fast response time (≤12 s) was observed during measurements. The working pH range of the electrode was 4.0–8.0 and lifetime of the sensor was at least 60 days. The electrode revealed good selectivity with respect to many cations including alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The introduced uranyl electrode was used for measurement of U(VI) ion in real samples without any serious inferences from other ions.  相似文献

Copper phthalocyanine was used as ion carrier for preparing polymeric membrane selective sensor for detection of iodide. The electrode was prepared by incorporating the ionophore into plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) membrane, coated on the surface of graphite electrode. This novel electrode shows high selectivity for iodide with respect to many common inorganic and organic anions. The effects of membrane composition, pH and the influence of lipophilic cationic and anionic additives and also nature of plasticizer on the response characteristics of the electrode were investigated. A calibration plot with near‐Nernestian slope for iodide was observed over a wide linear range of five decades of concentration (5×10?6?1×10?1 M). The electrode has a fast response time, and micro‐molar detection limit (ca. 1×10?6 M iodide) and could be used over a wide pH range of 3.0–8.0. Application of the electrode to the potentiometric titration of iodide ion with silver nitrate is reported. This sensor is used for determination of the minute amounts of iodide in lake water samples.  相似文献

The increase use of ion sensors in the fields of environmental, agricultural, and medical analysis is stimulating analytical chemists to develop new sensors for fast, accurate, reproducible, and selective determination of various ions. In this study a new samarium membrane sensor was constructed and for the first time, it was applied as a probe in indirect determination of hyoscine, homatropine, and tramadol drugs in their pharmaceutical formulation. The proposed membrane sensor was constructed based on a membrane containing 2% sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB) as an anionic additive, 63% dibutyl phthalate (DBP) as solvent mediator, 5% ionophore, and 30% poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC). The proposed Sm(III) electrode exhibits a Nernstian response of 19.35±0.2 mV per decade of samarium concentration, and has a lower detection limit of 1.0×10?7 M. The linear range of the sensors was 1.0×10?7–1.0×10?1 M. It works well in the pH range of 3.0–8.0.  相似文献

Novel PVC membrane (PME) and coated graphite (CGE) Cu2+‐selective electrodes based on 5,6,7,8,9,10‐hexahydro‐2H‐1,13,4,7,10‐benzodioxatriazacyclopentadecine‐3,11(4H,12H)‐dione are prepared. The electrodes reveal a Nernstian behavior over wide Cu2+ ion concentration ranges (1.0×10?7–1.0×10?1 M for PME and 1.0×10?8–1.0×10?1 M for CGE) with very low limits of detection (7.8×10?8 M for PME and 9.1×10?9 M for CGE). The potentiometric responses are independent of the pH of the test solutions in the pH range 2.7–6.2. The proposed electrodes possess very good selectivities for Cu2+ over a wide variety of the cations including alkali, alkaline earth, transitions and heavy metal ions. In this work a dysprosium [Dy(III)]‐selective solvent polymeric membrane sensor based on N,N‐bis(pyrrolidene) benzne‐1,2‐diamine, poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC), the plasticizer benzylacetate (BA), and anionic site is described. This sensor responds to Dy(III) activity in a linear range from 1.0×10?5 to 1.0×10?1 M, with a slope of 20.6±0.2 mV per decade and a detection limit of 6.0×10?6 M at the pH range of 3.5–8.0. It has a fast response time of<20 s in the entire concentration range, and can be used for at least 2 months without any considerable divergence in the electrode potentials. The proposed sensor revealed comparatively good selectivity with respect to common alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. It was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of fluoride ions and in determination of concentration of F ions in some mouth washing solutions.  相似文献

The sensors exhibited a Nernstian response for La(III) ion over a wide concentration range (3.0 × 10?7 to 1.0 × 10?1 M for PME and 1.0 × 10?7 to 1.0 × 10?1 M for CGE) with a slope of 20.1 ± 0.3 (PME) and 23.4 ± 0.4 (CGE) mV decade?1. The lower detection limits by PME and CGE were 2.0 × 10?7 and 7.1 × 10?8 M, respectively. The potentiometric response of the proposed electrodes was independent of the pH of the test solution in the pH range 3.0–9.0 with a fast response time (<10 s). Abstract

A novel Pr(III) ion‐selective polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membrane sensor, based on N,N‐bis(α‐methylsalicylidene)diethylenetriamine (BMT) as a new ionophore, has been prepared and studied. The electrode showed good selectivity for Pr(III) ion with respect to most common cations, including alkali, alkaline earth, transition, and heavy metal ions. This electrode has a wide linear dynamic range from 1.0×10?6 to 1.0×10?2 M with a Nernstian slope of 19.8±0.2 mV per decade and a low detection limit of 6.5×10?7 M, in the pH range of 3.0–8.4, while response time was rapid (<15 s). As far as applications of the recommended sensor are concerned, first it was employed as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Pr(III) ions with EDTA. Second, it was effectively applied to the determination of concentration of Pr(III) ions in soil and sediment samples, and validation with CRMs.  相似文献

A new PVC membrane coated graphite electrode for cesium ion based on 4′,4″(5′)di–tert-butyl di-benzo-18-crown-6 (DTBDB18C6) as ionophore was prepared. The electrode shows a near Nernstian response of 57.0 ± 1.8 mV decade?1 over a wide activity range of 6.0 × 10?6–1.0 × 10?1 mol L?1 with a limit of detection 4.0 × 10?6 mol L?1. The proposed electrode is suitable for use in aqueous solution in the pH range of 3.0–9.5. It has a fast response time of 10 s and can be used for at least 1 month without any considerable divergence in potential. The selectivity coefficients for Cs+ ion with respect to ammonium, alkali, alkaline earth and some selected transition metal ions were determined and showed a superior selectivity over Li+, Na+ and alkaline earth metal ions. The new electrode was applied for determination of Cs+ in spiked tap water. The electrode was also used as indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of Cs+ with sodium tetraphenyl borate.  相似文献

2,5-Dioxo-4-imidazolidinyl was used as an excellent sensing material in the preparation of a PVC membrane for a Ce(III)-selective sensor. The electrode shows a good selectivity for the Ce(III) ion with respect to most common cations including alkali, alkaline earth, transition, and heavy metal ions. The developed sensor exhibits a wide linear response with a slope of 19.6?±?0.3 mV per decade over the concentration range of 1.0?×?10?6 to 1.0?×?10?1 M, while the illustrated detection limit is 5.7?×?10?7 M of Ce(III) ions. Moreover, it is concluded that the sensor response is pH-independent in the range of 3.1–9.8. The applications of the recommended electrode include the determination of concentration of Ce(III) ions in soil and sediment samples, validation with CRM's, and the Ce(III) ion potentiometric titration with EDTA as an indicator electrode.  相似文献

Three different recently synthesized aza‐thioether crowns containing a 1,10‐phenanthroline sub‐unit (L1–L3) and a corresponding acyclic ligand (L4) were studied to characterize their abilities as silver ion ionophores in PVC‐membrane electrodes. Novel conventional silver‐selective electrodes with internal reference solution (CONISE) and coated graphite‐solid contact electrodes (SCISE) were prepared based on one of the 15‐membered crowns containing two donating S atoms and two phenanthroline‐N atoms (L1). The electrodes reveal a Nernstian behavior over wide Ag+ ion concentration ranges (1.0×10?5?1.0×10?1 M for CONISE and 5.0×10?8?4.0×10?2 M for SCISE) and very low limits of detection (8.0×10?6 M for CONISE and 3.0×10?8 M for SCISE). The potentiometric response is independent from pH of the solution in the pH range 3.0–8.0. The electrodes manifest advantages of low resistance, very fast response and, most importantly, good selectivities relative to a wide variety of other cations. The electrodes can be used for at least 2 months (for CONISE) and 4 months for (SCISE) without any appreciable divergence in potentials. The electrodes were used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of Ag+ ion and in the determination of silver in photographic emulsions and in radiographic and photographic films.  相似文献

A novel membrane sensor for selective monitoring of iodide, consisting of a triiodide‐ketoconazole ion pair complex dispersed in a PVC matrix, plasticized with a mixture of 2‐nitrophenyl octyl ether and dioctylphtalate with unique selectivity toward iodide ions, is described. The influence of membrane composition, pH of test solution and foreign ions on the electrode performance were investigated. The optimized membrane demonstrates a near‐Nernstian response for iodide ions over a wide linear range from 1.0 × 10?2 to 1.0 × 10?5 M, at 25 ± 1 °C. The electrode could be used over a wide pH range 3–10 and has the advantages of high selectivity, fast response time and good lifetime (over 4 months). It was successfully used as indicator electrode in potentiometric titrations and direct potentiometric assay of iodide ions.  相似文献
