The response of a sandwich beam subjected to moving forces (constant as well as pulsating) is analyzed by the use of Fourier and Laplace transforms and compared with the response of an equivalent elastic beam. The results indicate that the critical speed of force on a sandwich beam is always greater than that on an elastic beam of identical mass per unit length and flexural rigidity, and depends on its geometric and shear parameters. For subcritical speeds, the maximum deflection of a sandwich beam is shown to occur earlier than that of an equivalent elastic beam. An increase in the core shear stiffness is shown to be beneficial in reducing the dynamic magnification of the central deflection of the sandwich beam.  相似文献

The plasma-assisted slow-wave oscillator (PASOTRON) is a high-power microwave source, in which the transport of an intense electron beam through an interaction region is based on the focusing effect of a beam generated plasma channel (Bennett pinch). A simple theory is developed which describes the self-consistent nonstationary processes of the plasma formation due to impact ionization of an axially inhomogeneous gas by the beam and the beam focusing effect of the plasma. The theory is illustrated by examples showing the temporal evolution of the beam transport in the process of plasma creation in PASOTRONs  相似文献

We report on an experiment in which a negative hydrogen ion beam in the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) linear accelerator was replaced with a beam of protons with similar size and dynamics. Fractional beam loss in the superconducting part of the SNS accelerator was measured to be at least 2×10(-5) for the H(-) beam, and it was an order of magnitude lower for the protons. Also beam loss has a stronger dependence on intensity with H(-) than with proton beams. These measurements verify a recent theoretical explanation of unexpected beam losses in the SNS superconducting linear accelerator based on an intrabeam stripping mechanism for negative hydrogen ions. This previously unidentified mechanism for beam loss is important for the design of new high current linear ion accelerators and the performance improvement of existing machines.  相似文献

Realization of a near-field optical virtual probe based on an evanescent Bessel beam is strongly dependent on a radially polarized beam; this makes it essential to study the focusing property of the beam. In this paper, two experimental setups based on a fiber device and a liquid crystal device, respectively, are built to generate a radially polarized beam. This beam and an annular radially polarized beam are focused by means of a high numerical aperture objective and a solid immersion lens (SIL). Near-field distribution of the focus spot, the evanescent Bessel field, is experimentally measured with a scanning near-field optical microscope (SNOM). The full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the central peak of the evanescent Bessel field is about 200 nm in the close vicinity of the bottom surface of SIL. This has potential for use as a near-field optical virtual probe.  相似文献

针对半导体激光器线阵输出光束快慢轴方向光参数积不对称问题,提出并制作了基于直角棱镜片的光束整形器,其具有结构简单紧凑,制作安装容易的特点。通过数值仿真和实验对光束整形器进行了分析,研究表明整形器实现了半导体激光器线阵输出光束的对称化,并且光束经过透镜聚焦后对数值孔径为0.46,直径为200μm的光纤进行耦合,效率为53%。  相似文献

The propagation of an off-axis Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) beam in a turbulent atmosphere is investigated based on the extended Huygens-Fresnel integral formula. Analytical formulae for the cross-spectral density and corresponding partially coherent complex curvature tensor of an off-axis GSM beam propagating in a turbulent atmosphere are derived. Based on these formulae, the propagation properties of such kind of beam in a turbulent atmosphere are investigated in detail. Furthermore, the methods are extended to investigate the propagation properties of a partially coherent laser array beam in a turbulent atmosphere. The properties of an off-axis GSM beam and a partially coherent laser array beam in a turbulent atmosphere are closely related with the beam parameters and the structure constant of the turbulent atmosphere.  相似文献

An analytical expression of an Airy beam passing through a fractional Fourier transform (FRFT) system is presented. The effective beam size of the Airy beam in the FRFT plane is also derived. The influences of the order of FRFT, the modulation parameter, and the transverse scale on the normalized intensity distribution and the effective beam size of an Airy beam in the FRFT plane are examined. The order of FRFT controls the effective beam size and the orientation of the beam spot. The modulation parameter affects the effective beam size and the number of lateral side lobes. The normalized intensity distribution and the effective beam size are both proportional to the transverse scale.  相似文献

Seidel comatic aberration is an important cause of deformation for a Laguerre--Gaussian (LG) beam. In addition, mono-axial comatic aberration, whose phase modulation depends only on one transverse coordinate, is also an important cause of beam deformation. Deformation of an LG beam by such aberrations is analyzed through numerical simulation based on the angular spectrum method. It is also shown that for holographically generated LG beams quadratic spatial variation of grating pitch can produce seidel and mono-axial comatic aberrations. An example of an experimentally generated LG beam with mono-axial comatic aberration is reported.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel inertia-capacitance (IC) beam substructure formulation based on the IC-field presentation from the bond graph method is developed. The IC beam provides a modular, systematic and graphical approach to beam modeling. These features allow the modeler to focus more on the modeling and less on the mathematics. As such, the IC beam is proposed as an alternative to the many existing types of beam models available in the literature. The IC beam is formulated in the center of mass body fixed coordinate system allowing for easy interfacing in a multibody system setting. This floating frame approach is also computationally cheap. Elastic deformations in the IC beam are assumed to be small and described by modal superposition. The formulation couples rigid body and elastic deformations in a nonlinear fashion. The formulation is also compact and efficient. Detailed derivations for a two-dimensional planar IC beam with bending modes are presented. A modal acceleration method based on the decoupling of bending modes is proposed for use in the IC beam. The rotating beam spin-up maneuver problem is solved. The Karnopp-Margolis method is applied to ensure complete integral causality for an efficient numerical system. Geometric substructuring technique is applied to model large deflections. The IC beam is shown to be capable of solving the rotating beam problem accurately and efficiently.  相似文献

基于广义惠更斯-菲涅耳原理,以高斯-谢尔模型(GSM)涡旋光束作为典型的部分相干涡旋光束,推导出GSM涡旋光束通过大气湍流斜程传输的平均光强、均方根束宽和交叉谱密度函数的解析表达式,并用以研究了大气湍流中上行和下行对GSM涡旋光束传输和对相干涡旋的影响.结果表明,在相同条件下,GSM涡旋光束下行传输受大气湍流的影响要小于上行传输,下行传输时相干涡旋拓扑电荷守恒距离要长于上行传输.对所得结果做了物理解释. 关键词: 部分相干涡旋光束 相干涡旋 大气湍流 上行和下行传输  相似文献

The effect of the laser source spotsize on the measurement sensitivity of layered system using photothermal radiometry (PTR) technique is presented. The beam size effect on the PTR measurement sensitivity is theoretically examined and experimentally demonstrated using a carbo-nitrided C1018 steel sample. The experimental results using a focused beam and an expanded beam for a carbo-nitrided C1018 sample validated the theoretical prediction, according to which the expanded beam showed a much larger magnitude change (contrast) in both amplitude and phase than results with a focused beam.  相似文献

针对高能电子束撞击重金属靶产生轫致辐射光子, 利用蒙特卡罗方法详细研究了电子束半径与发射度以及靶的厚度对X光源特性的影响. 结果表明:电子束半径与发射度不仅是影响照射量的主要因素, 也是造成照射量分布不均匀的主要原因; 给定电子束, 存在一个靶厚度使得靶前1 m处的照射量最大. 因此, 在X射线成像系统的设计和模拟过程中, 应综合考虑电子束半径与发射度和靶厚的影响.  相似文献

With the help of the Rayleigh-Sommerfeld diffraction integral, an analytical formula for the spectral density of a nonparaxial polychromatic partially coherent (NPPC) standard or elegant Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) beam propagating through free space is derived. The evolution properties of the intensity distribution of a NPPC standard or elegant LG beam are studied numerically. It is found that the behavior of the intensity distribution of the NPPC standard or elegant LG beam is determined by the initial beam parameters (i.e., beam waist size, spatial coherence width and beam orders). Furthermore, we also study the influence of the initial beam parameters on the spectral change of a NPPC standard or elegant LG beam upon propagation in free space. It is shown that the on-axis spectral shift of a NPPC standard LG beam is almost the same with that of a NPPC elegant LG beam when the initial beam parameters of two type beams are identical. However, the difference between the off-axis spectral shift between a NPPC standard LG beam and a NPPC elegant LG beam is enhanced with the decrease of beam waist size or with the increase of spatial coherence width and beam mode orders.  相似文献

基于光谱光束组合技术,利用光栅的衍射和外腔的反馈,并通过加入光束整形系统,将标准的半导体激光阵列的发光单元锁定在窄线宽的不同波长上,以近似平行光束沿组合方向输出,以实现半导体激光阵列输出光束质量的改善和线宽的压窄。实验中采用发光单元宽度100μm,周期500μm,由19个单元构成的标准阵列,分别对快、慢轴准直后光谱组束、光束整形后光谱组束和线宽压窄外腔组束进行了实验验证,实现了组合光束与单个发光单元近似的光束质量,同时得到了较窄的线宽输出,并对实验结果进行了分析。  相似文献

The effect of delay in the thermocapillary response of a transparent liquid layer on an absorbing substrate during its heating by a laser beam is discovered. The response is an interference pattern formed on a screen placed in the beam cross section by the beam reflected from a thermocapillary dip. It is found that the delay time of the response of a thin (h < 1.8 mm) layer of a liquid in a viscosity range of 3–6 mPa s to a 20.9-mW exciting beam from a He-Ne laser (λ = 633 nm) is proportional to the squared layer thickness with a proportionality factor depending on the viscosity and thermal diffusivity of the liquid.  相似文献

The average spreading of a linear Gaussian–Schell model (GSM) beam array in non-Kolmogorov turbulence is studied, where the coherent combination is considered. The effects of the beam number, the separation distance between two adjacent beams and the generalized exponent on the root-mean-square (rms) beam width are investigated. The results indicate that the rms beam width in non-Kolmogorov turbulence is different from that in Kolmogorov turbulence, and there is an optimum beam number that leads to a minimum beam width. Further, the beam width can reach the minimum value by adopting the optimum separation distance, which decreases with the increase of beam number. Besides, the partially coherent beam array is less sensitive to the atmospheric turbulence than the fully coherent one.  相似文献

We report here on test experiments for an Integrating Current Transformer (ICT) used to measure fast extraction beams from the HIRFL-CSR main ring (CSRm).
