Der Einfluss von Beimengungen auf die Fasersubstruktur von Zink-Einkristallen

Zusammenfassung An Einkristallen von Zn mit Beimengungen von Cd oder Cu wurde experimentell die Abhä agigkeit der Größe des Durchmessers der Fasersubstruktur vom Gehalt der Beimengungen untersucht, die aus der Theorie von Rutter und Chalmers [1] hervorgeht. Es wird die Möglichkeit gezeigt, die Größe des Verteilungskoeffizientenk aus den erzielten Ergebnissen abzuschätzen.

On the electroluminescence of ZnS at low voltages

The possibility of explaining non-zero electroluminescence brightness below the minimum ionization voltage by the influence of thermal velocities of electrons is pointed out; the derived voltage dependence of electroluminescence brightness agrees with the measurements in [1].

The influence of magnetic after-effect on the rectangularity of the hysteresis loop of MgMn ferrites

The influence of the magnetic after-effect on the rectangularity of the hysteresis loop of MgMn ferrites in two different compositions was studied; it was found that this influence is so small that it cannot be the actual cause of a rectangular hysteresis loop of such materials.

The internal friction of longitudinal oscillations in ferromagnetic materials

The paper deals with the theory of the new magnetomechanical phenomenon in an alternating field [6, 7]. The first part concerns the internal friction of longitudinal oscillations of a ferromagnetic material in the shape of a wire in a constant magnetic field. It is assumed that the medium in which the sample oscillates is conducting and has a certain permeability. Equations defining the magnetic field in the oscillating material are derived from the basic thermodynamic relations. The term describing the non-conservative force component in a complex formulation is used to determine the internal friction. A general relation between the internal friction and the magnetic field is derived, as well as other expressions, which are a simplification of it. The second part of the paper deals with internal friction in an alternating field. It is shown that the solution can be transformed to the sum of the internal frictions of the different harmonic oscillations, which are obtained as a partial solution of the problem on the assumption that the elastic oscillations in interaction with the field oscillations are separated into their harmonic components. The calculation then becomes that of the internal friction considered in the first part of the paper. In this case the internal friction significantly depends on the field amplitude. The functional dependence of the internal friction peak on the frequency of the mechanical oscillations is also calculated. The agreement of the theory with experiment is satisfactory.

Changes in EPR spectrum of free radical species inγ-irradiated polyformaldehyde

We have found that gamma-irradiated polyformaldehyde does not exhibit the effect of the disappearance of the hyperfine structure of EPR spectrum as a function of the dose or the time passed since the end of irradiation, as was found earlier for a group of polymers having only C-C-C-C-atoms in the polymer chain. This difference in the change in the EPR of the polyformaldehyde (PFA) spectrum compared with the polymers with a -C-C-C-C- chain is explained by the impossibility of forming a conjugate double bond in the -C-O-C-O- chain in PFA.

The change in primary extinction during decomposition of a super saturated solid solution 1. System Al-Ag

On the basis of the correlation of diffraction data (intensity and width) of a precipitate with the intensity of reflection of a matrix solid solution it is shown that the change in primary extinction during the decomposition of a solid solution of Agin Alis caused by the precipitation of the phase Ag₂Aland not by the production of lattice defects (zones, stacking faults).

Paramagnetic resonance of Fe3+ ion in CdWO4 monocrystal

The paramagnetic spectrum of the Fe³⁺ ion in a CdWO₄ monocrystal was measured on a frequency of 9600 kMHz at 290°K. The spin-Hamiltonian of the Fe³⁺ ion was determined and had the form of (1). The constants derived for the spin-Hamiltonian areE/D=0·144±0·002,D=23·8 kMHz.

Der Einfluss von Fremdstoffgehalt auf einige Kenngrössen der Verfestigungskurven von Zinkeinkristallen

Zusammenfassung Es wurde der Einfluß von Fremdstoffgehalt: auf die kritische Schubspannung ₀, den Verfestigungskoeffizient _A im BereichA der Verfestigungskurve; die Längea _A des BereichsA, und die Schubspannung _A am Ende des BereichsA, von Zinkeinkristallen untersucht. Es konnte gezeigt werden, daß der Einfluß von Fremdstoffgehalt auf den Wert der kritischen Schubspannung vorwiegend indirekter Natur ist. Die Abnahme des Verfestigungskoeffizienten mit zunehmendem Fremdstoffgehalt kann an Hand erhöhter Leerstellenkonzentration erklärt werden. Das Auftreten des BereichsB wird im Zusammenhang mit der Entstehung von Frankschen Halbversetzungen erwogen.

On the effect of impurities on the critical resolved shear stress of zinc single crystals

The dependence of the critical resolved shear stress of zinc single crystals on the impurity content and the dislocation density is observed. It is shown that the effect of impurities on the critical resolved shear stress is indirect.

A remark on the decay rate of bound muons

The probability of the decay of a bound -meson is calculated using the theory of weak interactions with an intermediate boson. It is found that this theory, like all the others, cannot explain the experimental maximum atZ=26.
