The magnetization vector hodographs corresponding to the regime of 90° pulse magnetization of ferrite-garnet films with easy-plane anisotropy have been analyzed. It is found that when the magnetizing pulse amplitude H m exceeds some threshold value H*m (≈15 Oe), magnetization occurs through the mechanism of uniform magnetization vector rotation. The weak dependence of the intensity of nonlinear oscillations (accompanying the magnetization process) on the rise time of the magnetizing pulse, observed in the fields H m > H*m, is explained by the presence of biaxial anisotropy in the plane of real films.  相似文献

The confinement of the flux lines by a lattice of submicron holes (‘antidots’) has been studied in nanostructured superconducting Pb/Ge multilayers. By introducing regular arrays of sufficiently large antidots, multi-quanta vortex lattices have been stabilized. Sharp cusp-like magnetization (M) anomalies, appearing at matching fieldsHm=mφ0/Sin superconducting films with the antidot lattices having a unit cell areaS, are successfully explained. These anomalies are, analogues of the well-knownM(H) cusp atHc1, but for the onset of multi-quanta (m+1)φ0-vortices penetration at each subsequent matching fieldHm. It is shown that theM(H) curve between the matching fieldsHm<H<Hm+1follows a simpleM∝ln(HHm) dependence. These experimental observations have revealed an unusual expansion of validity of the London limit in superconductors with lattices of relatively large antidots. The successful high quality fit of theM(H,T) curves convincingly demonstrates that a new type of the critical stateB=const (‘single-terrace critical state’) can be realized in superconductors with the antidot lattices.  相似文献

The magnetic spiral structure of a Y/Dy sample has been investigated for temperatures from 30 to 190 K by the method of the small-angle scattering of polarized neutrons. The sample is a sequence of layers Y50nm [Dy4.3nm /Y2.8nm ]350/Y234nm /Nd200nm Al2O3 (substrate) that is grown as a single crystal with the [001] axis of the hexagonal lattice, which is perpendicular to the layer plane. The experiments demonstrate the appearance of the magnetic peak below T N = 165.4 K, which is associated with the helicoidal phase, and the helicoid coherence length is larger than the layer thickness of the Y/Dy layer. The use of polarized neutrons allows the separation of the polarization-independent and polarization-independent components of magnetic scattering. The polarization-independent component of the magnetic neutron cross section is proportional to magnetization squared 〈S Z 2, whereas the polarization-dependent component is proportional to the average chirality of the system 〈C〉 = 〈[·S 1 × S 2]〉. The critical exponents βC = 1.02(1) and β = 0.39(1) have been determined for the average chirality and magnetization, respectively. The magnetization critical exponent β for Dy/Y coincides with the exponent obtained for Dy bulk samples. The difference βC ? 2β = 0.24(2) shows that the chirality can be a component of the order parameter that is independent of magnetization. This experiment corroborates the results that were obtained for the critical chirality in Ho and were reported in Phys. Rev. B 64, 100402(R) (2001).  相似文献

Experimental and theoretical studies of the magnetization curves M(H) obtained for plates of an anisotropic hard superconductor are performed. The samples are YBCO single-domain textured crystals with the c axis lying in the sample plane. It is shown that, for some orientations of the magnetic field in the sample plane, the magnetization curves contain additional extrema; at the same time, the virgin magnetization curve M(H) exhibits features characteristic of the peak effect. This proves that the anisotropy of the current-carrying ability can give rise to a new type of peak effect.  相似文献

We report on the magnetization, magnetocaloric effect, magnetic ordering temperatures, saturation magnetic moments and anisotropy of sputter-deposited GdxCr1−x alloys with Gd atomic concentrations, x, ranging from 0.13 to 0.52. The complex magnetic nature of the Gd-Cr films was revealed from the M×H isotherms, which do not show saturation even at an applied field of 70 kOe and a temperature of 2 K and do not exhibit a linear behavior at higher temperatures. For some of the samples, the isotherms were used to determine the isothermal entropy variation as a function of temperature, for a change of 50 kOe in the applied magnetic field. The saturation magnetic moment varies with x and follows the dilution law, implying that the Cr atoms do not contribute to the total moment of the Gd-Cr alloys. Both static magnetization and dynamic susceptibility measurements reveal the existence of a magnetic glassy behavior in the alloys, which occurs below a freezing temperature. The existence of anisotropy at low temperatures for all samples was revealed by their M×H hysteresis loops from which the in-plane coercive fields, Hc, were determined. A monotonical increase in Hc with increasing Gd concentration was observed.  相似文献

The effect of magnetic field dependent viscosity on the onset of Bénard-Marangoni ferroconvection in a horizontal layer of ferrofluid is investigated theoretically. The lower boundary is taken to be rigid with fixed temperature, while the upper free boundary at which temperature-dependent surface tension effect is considered is non-deformable and subject to a general thermal condition. The Rayleigh-Ritz method with Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind as trial functions is employed to extract the critical stability parameters numerically. The results show that the onset of ferroconvection is delayed with an increase in the magnetic field dependent viscosity parameter (Λ) and Biot number (Bi) but opposite is the case with an increase in the value of magnetic Rayleigh number (Rm) and nonlinearity of magnetization (M3). Further, increase in Rm, M3, and decrease in Λ and Bi is to decrease the size of the convection cells.  相似文献

Studies on La0.7Sr0.3Co1−xMnxO3 (x=0-0.5) compounds evidence that the interaction between Mn and Co ions in this system is antiferromagnetic super-exchange and not ferromagnetic (FM) double-exchange (DE). As a result, antiferromagnetism and magnetic glassiness develop steadily with increasing Mn content and the system becomes a spin glass at x∼0.1. Analyses of high-field magnetization data indicate that the system consists of two major phases: a metallic FM phase which magnetically saturates in rather low field, and an insulating non-FM phase which has a linear dependence of magnetization on magnetic field. In the low doping regime, the fraction of the non-FM component expands with temperature at the expense of the FM phase and becomes maximal at TC. Ferromagnetism reappears in highly doped (x≥0.2) compounds due to the presence of DE interaction between the Mn ions. The small volume fraction of the FM phase derived from the M(H) data in high-field region supports the coexistence of insulating and FM behaviors in the highly doped samples.  相似文献

The nonlinear and generally unsteady dynamics of domain walls with a vortex internal structure in a constant magnetic field H is investigated on the basis of the numerical solution of the Landau-Lifshitz equation for a 2D distribution of magnetization M in magnetic films with planar anisotropy taking into account exactly the main interaction, including the dipole-dipole interaction. It is shown that in addition to field H c (bifurcation field) above which the motion of a wall becomes unsteady and its internal structure experiences global dynamic changes, there exists a field H0 separating two steady motions of the wall with different structures. The data clarifying the physical origin of the nonlinear dynamic rearrangement of the wall structure are presented. New rearrangement mechanisms associated with the generation and attenuation of vortices as well as their tunneling through the central surface of the wall are established. The existence of subperiod oscillations of the wall velocity in a static field in addition to the oscillations associated with the precession of M around the easy magnetization axis is predicted. The period T of dynamic variations of the wall structure is studied, and an empirical formula is proposed for describing the singular behavior of the T(H) dependence near H=H Hc with the critical index depending on the film parameters. The bifurcation process is studied, and a nonlinear dependence of the critical field H c on the film thickness and the saturation magnetization is established. The possibility of direct experimental investigation of the dynamic rearrangement of the internal structure of the wall is indicated.  相似文献

The process of pulsed 90° magnetization of ferrite-garnet films was studied. These films, in addition to easy-plane anisotropy, have biaxial anisotropy in the film plane with an effective field H K2 ? 40–55 Oe. the pulsed magnetization curve contains two portions separated by a kink observed at a field pulse amplitude H p=H p * ? 16–18 Oe. An analysis of the magnetization signals showed that the restoring torque, which is mainly caused by biaxial-anisotropy forces, is overcome in fields H pH p * and that magnetization rotation occurs. In fields H p < H p * , the magnetization vector rotates at the initial stage only and the angle of rotation ?in is less than 25°–26°. The field H p * and angle ?in are calculated. The results of the calculations are confirmed by experimental data. In fields H p > H p * , the process of magnetization is accompanied by oscillations of the magnetization vector. In contrast to free magnetization oscillations, these oscillations are nonlinear and the frequency of the first harmonic (≈5 × 108 Hz) is much lower than that for free oscillations, (7–12) × 108 Hz. Oscillations are excited at a pulse rise time of ≈6 ns.  相似文献

The intensities of magnetoelastic oscillations accompanying pulsed 180° and 90° magnetization switching of iron borate single crystals as well as pulsed magnetization of the crystals from a demagnetized state (with zero total magnetic moment) are compared for the first time. The amplitude A 1 of the oscillations of the signal obtained from the experimental sample by the induction method is adopted as a measure of the intensity of the magnetoelastic oscillations. It is found that for the same pulse heights of the magnetic field H exciting the magnetization-switching or magnetizing process, the amplitudes A 1 of the oscillations observed in 90° magnetization-switching and initial-magnetization processes have practically the same value, which is $\sqrt 2 $ times smaller than the amplitude of the oscillations obtained in 180° magnetization switching (reversal). It is concluded on the basis of the result obtained that the intensity of the magnetoelastic oscillations is virtually independent of the initial state of the single crystal and is determined mainly by the energy density ΔM·H acquired by the magnetic subsystem of the crystal from the external field (ΔM is the change in magnetization). Hence it follows that when iron borate is used in fast modulators for Mössbauer γ rays it is preferable to use the 90° magnetization-switching regime rather than the magnetization regime as has been done until very recently.  相似文献

The magnetization of a nonuniformly stressed FeBO3 crystal along any of the two specific directions in the basal plane (the easy plane) at a temperature of T < 140 K in a magnetic field exceeding the threshold value H 0 is found to lead to a transition of the crystal from the uniform magnetic state to the spatially modulated one. The modulated magnetic phase arising under these conditions exists in a certain temperature-dependent field range H 0HH c and is representable in the form of a static spin wave that is linearly polarized in the easy plane of the crystal and has a wave vector k oriented at an angle of ~30° to the magnetization axis. The field, temperature, and orientation dependences of k are investigated. A physical mechanism is proposed to explain the modulation of the magnetic order parameter of the crystal under study. The results obtained are discussed in terms of the magnetic ripple theory.  相似文献

The Barkhausen jumps occuring during the magnetization of the amorphous Fe-Ni-B-Si alloys have been studied by the measurements of the derivative of magnetization with respect to time (dM/dt). The peaks in dM/dt vs. applied field (H) are reproducible after averaging over some fifty cycles of magnetization. The investigation of the variations of dM/dt with the applied field (H) and with the instantaneous magnetization (M) accompanied with the same studies, but performed starting from different values of the initial remanence (Mri), completes our earlier analysis of the process of magnetization in these alloys. It is shown that the model of Chikazumi used for the explanation of the variations of remanent magnetization, coercive field and loss with the maximum magnetization (Mm) is consistent with the observed Barkhausen jumps. The possibility of separation of contributions from particular domain walls to the process of magnetization in soft magnetic materials (which would enable the determination of the locations and strengths of the particular pinning centres) is briefly discussed.  相似文献

The effect of itinerant spin moment (m) dynamic in spin transfer switching has been ignored in most previous theoretical studies of the magnetization (M) dynamics. Thus in this paper, we proposed a more refined micromagnetic model of spin transfer switching that takes into account in a self-consistent manner of the coupled m and M dynamics. The numerical results obtained from this model further shed insight on the switching profiles of m and M, both of which show particular sensitivity to parameters such as the anisotropy field, the spin torque field, and the initial deviation between m and M.  相似文献

The anomalies of magnetic properties of TbLiF4 caused by the interaction of the energy levels of a rare-earth ion in a strong magnetic field up to 50 T directed along the [100] and [110] axes are studied experimentally and theoretically. The jumps in magnetization M(H) and the maxima of the differential magnetic susceptibility dM(H)/dH are found in critical fields H c = 28 and 31 T, where the lower component of the excited doublet approaches the ground-state singlet of a Tb3+ ion. Based on the crystal-field model with known interaction parameters, we calculated the Zeeman effect and the magnetization and magnetic susceptibility curves for the TbLiF4 crystal, which adequately describe magnetic anomalies and critical parameters of a crossover. It is shown that the jumpwise change in the α- and γ-symmetry quadrupole interactions in TbLiF4 caused by changes in the corresponding quadrupole moments during the crossing of energy levels leads, in accordance with experiments, to a decrease in the critical field H c by approximately 4 T and an increase in the maximum of the differential susceptibility dM(H)/dH near the crossover more than twofold. This behavior can be considered as an analog of the induced quadrupole transition caused by a change of the ground state of the rare-earth ion during crossover.  相似文献

The specific features of quantum oscillations of the magnetization in quasi-two-dimensional wide-band-gap antiferromagnetic semimetals with a low concentration of charge carriers have been considered theoretically. It has been shown that, in these systems, the Fermi energy determined from the analysis of the frequency of the de Haas–van Alphen oscillations according to the standard procedure can differ significantly from the true value. For the correct determination of the Fermi energy in the canted phase, it has been proposed to analyze quantum oscillations of the magnetization M not as a function of the inverse magnetic field 1/H, but as a function of 1/cosγ, where the angle γ characterizes the inclination angle of the magnetic field with respect to the plane of the quasi-two-dimensional semimetal.  相似文献

MnFe2O4 nano-particles with an average size of about 7 nm were synthesized by the thermal decomposition method. Based on the magnetic hysteresis loops measured at different temperatures the temperature-dependent saturation magnetization (MS) and coercivity (HC) are determined. It is shown that above 20 K the temperature-dependence of the MS and HC indicates the magnetic behaviors in the single-domain nano-particles, while below 20 K, the change of the MS and HC indicates the freezing of the spin-glass like state on the surfaces. By measuring the magnetization–temperature (MT) curves under the zero-field-cooling (ZFC) and field-cooling procedures at different applied fields, superparamagnetism behavior is also studied. Even though in the ZFC MT curves peaks can be observed below 160 K, superparamagnetism does not appear until the temperature goes above 300 K, which is related with the strong inter-particle interaction.  相似文献

In this work, we pointed out that Sr substitution for Ca leads to modify the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of Pr0.7Ca0.3-xSrxMnO3 compounds. Analyzing temperature dependence of magnetization, M(T), proves that the Curie temperature (TC) increased with increasing Sr content (x); TC value is found to be 130–260 K for x = 0.0–0.3, respectively. Using the phenomenological model and M(T,H) data measured at several applied magnetic field, the magnetocaloric effect of Pr0.7Ca0.3-xSrxMnO3 compounds has been investigated through their temperature and magnetic field dependences of magnetic entropy change ΔSm(T,H) and the change of the specific heat change ΔCP(T,H). Under an applied magnetic field change of 10 kOe, the maximum value of -ΔSm is found to be about 3 J/kg·K, and the maximum and minimum values of ΔCP(T) calculated to be about ±60 J/kg·K for x = 0.3 sample. Additionally, the critical behaviors of Pr0.7Ca0.3-xSrxMnO3 compounds around their TC have been also analyzed. Results suggested a coexistence of the ferromagnetic short- and long-range interactions in samples. Moreover, Sr-doping favors establishing the short-range interactions.  相似文献

Micromagnetic simulations based on the Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert equation are presented to study spin-polarized current induced magnetization switching in asymmetric nanoring-shaped magnetic tunnel junctions. The results show that in a nanoring with an intermediate eccentric distance S, the critical switching voltage VC reaches the minimum whose magnitude is less than half of the voltage for a symmetric nanoring. In addition to the spin-transfer torque, the current induced Ampère field is found to play a crucial part in the switching process. Analysis is given to explain the existence of such an energy valley that leads to the minimal voltage.  相似文献

We report the observation of a pronounced dip in the in-plane magnetic field (H) dependence of the critical current density Jc(H) and a peak in resistance R(H) of a NbN-HoNi5 bilayer at temperatures below the magnetic ordering temperature (TCurie ≈ 3.5 K) of HoNi5, which is lower than the onset temperature (≈9 K) of superconductivity in the NbN layer. The extrema in Jc(H) and R(H) appear at fields much below the upper critical field of NbN. We attribute these features to a coupling between localized out-of-plane moments present in the magnetic film and Pearl vortices of the superconducting layer. A spin re-orientation transition of the localized moments by H breaks this coupling, leading to the observed excess dissipation.  相似文献

The field dependence of magnetic entropy change ΔSM(T,H) has been studied in the crystalline sample Nd1.25Fe11Ti, a multiphase system constituted by three phases: Fe17Nd2, Fe7Nd and Fe11TiNd. The magnetic entropy change has been calculated from the numerical derivative of magnetization curves M(T,H) with respect to temperature and subsequent integration in field. To determine the field dependence of the experimental ΔSM, a local exponent n(T,H) can be calculated from the logarithmic derivative of the magnetic entropy change vs. field. In contrast with the results for single phase materials, where n at the Curie temperature TC is field independent, it is shown that for a multiphase system n evolves with field both at the Curie temperature of the system and the Curie temperatures of the constituent phases. This is in agreement with numerical simulations using the Arrott-Noakes equation of state.  相似文献
