Summary A decomposition theorem about closed images of locally compact metric spaces is discussed. It is shown that a space is a closed image of a locally compact metric space if and only if it is a regular Fréchet space with a point-countable k-network, and each of its closed first-countable subset is locally compact.  相似文献

In a previous paper, the quotient spaces of (s) in the tame category of nuclear Fréchet spaces have been characterized by property (ΩDZ) corresponding to the topological condition (Ω) of D. Vogt and M. J. Wagner. In addition, a splitting theorem has been proved which provides the existence of a tame linear right inverse of a tame linear map on the assumption that the kernel of the given map has property (ΩDZ) and that certain tameness conditions hold. In this paper it is proved that property (Ω) in standard form (i.e., the dual norms ‖ ‖ n * are logarithmically convex) implies the tame splitting condition (ΩDZ) for any tamely nuclear Fréchet space equipped with a grading defined by sermiscalar products. As an application, property (ΩDZ) is verified for the kernels of any hypoelliptic system of linear partial differential operators with constant coefficients on ℝN or on a bounded convex region in ℝN.  相似文献

In this paper, in terms of the Fréchet normal cone, we establish exact separation results for finitely many disjoint closed sets in an Asplund space, which supplement the extremal principle and some fuzzy separation theorems. As an application, we provide a new optimality condition for a constraint optimization problem in terms of Fréchet subdifferential and Fréchet normal cone.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a new class of operators acting on a locally convex space. We show that for some Fréchet spaces all these operators are mean ergodic. This leads to the conclusion that the classes of reflexive and non-reflexive Fréchet spaces are, in a sense, close to each other.  相似文献

A Fréchet space with a two-sided Schauder basis is constructed, such that the corresponding bilateral shift is continuous and invertible, and has no common nontrivial invariant subspace with its inverse. This shows in particular, that the problem of existence of hyperinvariant subspaces for operators on general Fréchet spaces, admits a negative answer. It is also shown that the dual of the Fréchet space constructed can be identified with a commutative locally convex complete topological algebra with unit, which has no closed nontrivial ideals.  相似文献

An analog of the classical Michael theorem on continuous single-valued selections of lower semicontinuous maps whose values are closed and convex in a Fréchet space is proved for maps into metrizable (non-locally-convex) vector spaces. It turns out that, instead of the local convexity of the whole space containing these values, it is sufficient to require that the family of values of the map be uniformly locally convex. In contrast to the standard selection theorems, the proof bypasses the process of successively improving the approximations, and the desired selection is constructed as the result of pointwise integration with respect to a suitable probability distribution.  相似文献

We present conditions under which the subdifferential of a proper convex lower-semicontinuous functional in a Fréchet space is a bounded upper-semicontinuous mapping. The theorem on the boundedness of a subdifferential is also new for Banach spaces. In this note we treat some open problems of Heinrich on ultrapowers of locally convex spaces. In section 1 we investigate the localization of bounded sets in the full ultrapower of a locally convex space, in particular the coincidence of the full and the bounded ultrapower, mainly concentrating in the case of (DF)-spaces. In section 2 we provide a partial answer to a question of Heinrich on commutativity of strict inductive limits and ultrapowers. In section 3 we analyze the relation between some natural candidates for the notion of superreflexivity in the setting of Fréchet spaces. We give an example of a Fréchet-Schwartz space which is not the projective limit of a sequence of superreflexive Banach spaces.  相似文献

We prove that the L 2 Riemannian metric on the manifold of all smooth Riemannian metrics on a fixed closed, finite-dimensional manifold induces a metric space structure. As the L 2 metric is a weak Riemannian metric, this fact does not follow from general results. In addition, we prove several results on the exponential mapping and distance function of a weak Riemannian metric on a Hilbert/Fréchet manifold. The statements are analogous to, but weaker than, what is known in the case of a Riemannian metric on a finite-dimensional manifold or a strong Riemannian metric on a Hilbert manifold.  相似文献

We prove a uniform boundedness theorem for families of linear operators on ordered cones. Using the concept of locally convex cones we introduce the notions of barreled cones and of weak cone-completeness. Our main result, though no straightforward generalization of the classical case, implies the Uniform Boundedness Theorem for Fréchet spaces.

This paper focuses on the metric regularity of a positive order for generalized equations. More concretely, we establish verifiable sufficient conditions for a generalized equation to achieve the metric regularity of a positive order at its a given solution. The provided conditions are expressed in terms of the Fréchet coderivative/or the Mordukhovich coderivative/or the Clarke one of the corresponding multifunction formulated the generalized equation. In addition, we show that such sufficient conditions turn out to be also necessary for the metric regularity of a positive order of the generalized equation in the case where the multifunction established the generalized equation is closed and convex.  相似文献

Unlike for Banach spaces, the differentiability of functions between infinite-dimensional nonlocally convex spaces has not yet been properly studied or understood. In a paper published in this Journal in 2006, Bayoumi claimed to have discovered a new notion of derivative that was more suitable for all F-spaces including the locally convex ones with a wider potential in analysis and applied mathematics than the Fréchet derivative. The aim of this short note is to dispel this misconception, since it could hinder making headway in this already hard enough subject. To that end we show that Bayoumi quasi-differentiability, when properly defined, is the same as Fréchet differentiability, and that some of his alleged applications are wrong.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence of solutions to fully nonlinear functional equations involving Erdélyi-Kober fractional integrals on the unbounded interval. By constructing a closed and convex subset of a Fréchet space, sufficient conditions are presented by using a fixed point theorem via the Kuratowski measure. Classical inverse function theorems of Nash-Moser type are proved for Fréchet spaces that admit smoothing operators as introduced by Nash. In this note an inverse function theorem is proved for Fréchet spaces which only have to satisfy the condition (DN) of Vogt and the smoothing property (SΩ)t; for instance, any Fréchet-Hilbert space which is an (Ω)-space in standard form has property (SΩ)t. The main result of this paper generalizes a theorem of Lojasiewicz and Zehnder. It can be applied to the space C(K) if the compact K ? ?N is the closure of its interior and subanalytic; different from classical results the boundary of K may have singularities like cusps. The growth assumptions on the mappings are formulated in terms of the weighted multiseminorms [ ]m,k introduced in this paper; nonlinear smooth partial differential operators on C(K) and their derivatives satisfy these formal assumptions.  相似文献

We describe a construction of convex functions on infinite-dimensional spaces and apply this construction to give an illustration to a theorem of Borwein-Fabian from [1]. Namely, we give a simple explicit example of a continuous convex function on l p , p ≥ 1, which is everywhere compactly differentiable, but not Fréchet differentiable at zero.  相似文献

Abstract

In this article we investigate unnormalized samples of Gaussian random elements in a separable Fréchet space 𝕄. First we describe a connection between shifts of a Gaussian measure μ in a separable Fréchet space and the infinite product of standard normal distributions in ?, and on the basis of this result we derive the so‐called self‐sufficient expansion for Gaussian random elements in a Fréchet space. Moreover, we find lower bounds for the Gaussian measure μ of shifted balls in 𝕄 and estimate the metric entropy of balls in the Hilbert space ? ? 𝕄 which generates μ. Finally, applying the Brunn–Minkowski inequality we prove a kind of the logarithmic law of large numbers. The last result is an extension of the analogous theorem obtained by Goodman (Characteristics of normal samples. Ann. Probab. 1988, 16, 1281–1290), for a sequence of Gaussian random elements in a separable Banach space.  相似文献

Under study are sufficient sets in Fréchet spaces of entire functions with uniform weighted estimates. We obtain general results on the a priori overflow of these sets and introduce the concept of their minimality. We also establish necessary and sufficient conditions for a sequence of points on the complex plane to be a minimal sufficient set for a weighted Fréchet space. Applications are given to the problem of representation of holomorphic functions in a convex domain with certain growth near the boundary by exponential series.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the geometry induced by the Fisher-Rao metric on the parameter space of Dirichlet distributions. We show that this space is a Hadamard manifold, i.e. that it is geodesically complete and has everywhere negative sectional curvature. An important consequence for applications is that the Fréchet mean of a set of Dirichlet distributions is uniquely defined in this geometry.  相似文献

We show that several spaces of holomorphic functions on a Riemann domain over a Banach space, including the nuclear and Hilbert–Schmidt bounded type, are locally m-convex Fréchet algebras. We prove that the spectrum of these algebras has a natural analytic structure, which we use to characterize the envelope of holomorphy. We also show a Cartan–Thullen type theorem.  相似文献
