We consider uncoupled wave equations with different speed of propagation in a bounded domain. Using a combination of the Bardos–Lebeau–Rauch observability result for a single wave equation and a new unique continuation result for uncoupled wave equations, we prove an observability estimate for that system. Applying Lions? Hilbert uniqueness method (HUM), one may derive simultaneous exact controllability results for the uncoupled system; the controls being locally distributed, with their supports satisfying the geometric control condition of Bardos, Lebeau and Rauch. Afterwards, we discuss the related simultaneous stabilization problem; this latter problem is solved by a combination of the new observability inequality, and a result of Haraux establishing an equivalence between observability and stabilization for second order evolution equations with bounded damping operators. Our observability and stabilization results generalize to higher space dimensions some earlier results of Haraux established in the one-dimensional setting.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove the existence of interior controls for one-dimensional semi-linear degenerate wave equations. By using a duality argument, we reduce the problem to an observability estimate for the linear degenerate wave equation. First, the unique continuation for the degenerate wave equation is established. By means of this, and the multiplier method, we obtain the observability estimate.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider exact control problem for a coupled system of plate with Gurtin‐Pipkin equation. Using duality arguments, the problem is reduced to the obtention of suitable observability estimates for the dual system. Firstly, we obtain the observability inequality of the dual system by means of multiplier method. Then, we prove that the system is exactly controllable based on the Hilbert Unique Method.  相似文献

This paper is addressed to studying the exact controllability of stochastic Schrödinger equations by two controls. One is a boundary control and the other is an internal control in the diffusion term. By means of the duality argument, the control problem is converted into an observability problem for backward stochastic Schrödinger equations, and the desired observability estimate is obtained by a global Carleman estimate. At last, we give a result about the lack of exact controllability, which shows that the action of two controls is necessary.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove exact observability, boundary and internal exact controllability results for a nonsimple elastic rod. By the spectral analysis method, it is shown that the considered problem has a sequence of eigenfunctions, which forms a Riesz basis for the state space. The exact observability is proved by application of a modified version of Ingham’s Theorem. Then, via the Hilbert Uniqueness method, we prove a boundary controllability result with only one controller and an internal controllability result.  相似文献

The existence of insensitizing controls for a forward stochastic heat equation is considered. To develop the duality, we obtain observability estimates for linear forward and backward coupled stochastic heat equations with general coefficients, by means of some global Carleman estimates. Furthermore, the constant in the observability inequality is estimated by an explicit function of the norm of the involved coefficients in the equation. As far as we know, our paper is the first one to address the problem of insensitizing controls for stochastic partial differential equations.  相似文献

We consider a null controllability problem for the semilinear heat equation with finite number of constraints on the state. Interpreting each constraint by means of adjoint state notion, we transform the linearized problem into an equivalent linear problem of null controllability with constraint on the control. Using inequalities of observability adapted to the constraint, we solve the equivalent problem. Then, by a fixed-point method, we prove the main result.  相似文献

In this paper, by means of a constructive method based on the theory of the existence and the uniqueness of the C1 solution to the Cauchy problem and the Goursat problem, the global exact boundary observability for the first‐order quasilinear hyperbolic systems of diagonal form with linearly degenerate characteristics is obtained. In the case that the system has no zero characteristics, we realize the two‐sided and one‐sided global exact boundary observability by the boundary observed values and obtain the observability inequality. In this paper the problem of stochastic observability of alinear system affected by multiplicative white noise and Markovianjumping is investigated. The definition of stochastic observabilityadopted here extends to this framework the definition of thewell known uniform observability of a deterministic time-varyinglinear system. By several examples we show that the conceptof stochastic observability introduced in this paper is lessrestrictive than those introduced in other existing works andit does not always imply stochastic detectability as would beexpected. Finally we prove that this kind of stochastic observabilityallows us to derive a Barbasin–Krasovskii type resultfor exponential stability in mean square. This provides a sufficientcondition which guarantees that any semipositive solution ofcorresponding Riccati differential equation is a stabilizingsolution.  相似文献

This paper studies the strong observability property and the reduced-order dead-beat observer design problem for a continuous bioreactor. New relationships between coexistence and strong observability, and checkable sufficient conditions for strong observability, are established for a chemostat with two competing microbial species. We give null controllability results for some degenerate parabolic equations in non divergence form on a bounded interval. In particular, the coefficient of the second order term degenerates at the extreme points of the domain. For this reason, we obtain an observability inequality for the adjoint problem. Then we prove Carleman estimates for such a problem. Finally, in a standard way, we deduce null controllability also for semilinear equations.   相似文献

The present paper establishes various duality relations-equalities which exist in linear control systems. By means of these relations, we demonstrate various duality properties in the theory of linear control systems. In particular we discuss the duality of controllability and observability of linear systems, the concepts of controllability and observability in stochastic systems the duality of regulator and observer of time-invariant systems and the duality property of reduced dimension observers etc. The duality relation established here is used to solve the problem of min-max state estimation in systems with uncertainty.  相似文献

A nonlinear parabolic problem with memory effect is considered. We first establish a Carleman type estimate for a linear problem which is the adjoint of a suitable linearization of the nonlinear problem. As a consequence of this estimate we obtain an observability estimate. Then we establish the exact controllability of the linearized system with distributed control over a subdomain. In this paper, we establish the null/approximate controllability for forward stochastic heat equations with control on the drift. The null controllability is obtained by a time iteration method and an observability estimate on partial sums of eigenfunctions for elliptic operators. As a consequence of the null controllability, we obtain the observability estimate for backward stochastic heat equations, which leads to a unique continuation property for backward stochastic heat equations, and hence the desired approximate controllability for forward stochastic heat equations. It deserves to point out that one needs to introduce a little stronger assumption on the controller for the approximate controllability of forward stochastic heat equations than that for the null controllability. This is a new phenomenon arising in the study of the controllability problem for stochastic heat equations.  相似文献

This paper deals with the global uniqueness and stability of an inverse problem for the plate equation. By means of a suitable transformation, the problem is reduced to the observability estimate for the plate equations with memory. The main tool that we employ is a global Carleman-type estimate. We study the statement and solvability of complete observability problems for linear stationary differential-algebraic dynamical systems with delays (DAD systems. Since in the general case, the state space of such systems is infinite-dimensional and is not necessarily “minimal,” we consider various statements of problems depending on what states are observed. Our attention is focused on the simplest DAD system in symmetric form. We obtain efficient parametric criteria and analyze relationships between various notions of complete observability for DAD systems. In the case of DAD systems with scalar coefficients, we obtain a complete classification of notions of complete observability in the class of continuous initial functions with the continuous matching condition. We analyze the problem of computing the minimum number of outputs of a spectrally observable DAD system.  相似文献

We study the statement and solvability of observability problems in linear stationary hybrid discrete-continuous dynamical systems. Necessary and sufficient observability conditions expressed directly via the system parameters are derived. We consider linear observability problems and the dual controllability and reachability problems.
