In the present article we are concerned with a class of degenerate second order differential operators LA,b defined on the cube d[0,1], with d?1. Under suitable assumptions on the coefficients A and b (among them the assumption of their Hölder regularity) we show that the operator LA,b defined on C2(d[0,1]) is closable and its closure is m-dissipative. In particular, its closure is the generator of a C0-semigroup of contractions on C(d[0,1]) and C2(d[0,1]) is a core for it. The proof of such result is obtained by studying the solvability in Hölder spaces of functions of the elliptic problem λu(x)−LA,bu(x)=f(x), xd[0,1], for a sufficiently large class of functions f.  相似文献

We consider a family of Schrödinger-type differential expressions L(κ)=D2+V+κV(1), where κC, and D is the Dirac operator associated with a Clifford bundle (E,∇E) of bounded geometry over a manifold of bounded geometry (M,g) with metric g, and V and V(1) are self-adjoint locally integrable sections of EndE. We also consider the family I(κ)=*(∇F)∇F+V+κV(1), where κC, and ∇F is a Hermitian connection on a Hermitian vector bundle F of bonded geometry over a manifold of bounded geometry (M,g), and V and V(1) are self-adjoint locally integrable sections of EndF. We give sufficient conditions for L(κ) and I(κ) to have a realization in L2(E) and L2(F), respectively, as self-adjoint holomorphic families of type (B). In the proofs we use Kato's inequality for Bochner Laplacian operator and Weitzenböck formula.  相似文献

Given aL1(R) and the generator A of an L1-integrable resolvent family of linear bounded operators defined on a Banach space X, we prove the existence of compact almost automorphic solutions of the semilinear integral equation for each f:R×XX compact almost automorphic in t, for each xX, and satisfying Lipschitz and Hölder type conditions. In the scalar linear case, we prove that aL1(R) positive, nonincreasing and log-convex is sufficient to obtain the existence of compact almost automorphic solutions.  相似文献

We study general spectral multiplier theorems for self-adjoint positive definite operators on L2(X,μ), where X is any open subset of a space of homogeneous type. We show that the sharp Hörmander-type spectral multiplier theorems follow from the appropriate estimates of the L2 norm of the kernel of spectral multipliers and the Gaussian bounds for the corresponding heat kernel. The sharp Hörmander-type spectral multiplier theorems are motivated and connected with sharp estimates for the critical exponent for the Riesz means summability, which we also study here. We discuss several examples, which include sharp spectral multiplier theorems for a class of scattering operators on R3 and new spectral multiplier theorems for the Laguerre and Hermite expansions.  相似文献

We are concerned with entropy solutions of the 2×2 relativistic Euler equations for perfect fluids in special relativity. We establish the uniqueness of Riemann solutions in the class of entropy solutions in LBVloc with arbitrarily large oscillation. Our proof for solutions with large oscillation is based on a detailed analysis of global behavior of shock curves in the phase space and on special features of centered rarefaction waves in the physical plane for this system. The uniqueness result does not require specific reference to any particular method for constructing the entropy solutions. Then the uniqueness of Riemann solutions yields their inviscid large-time stability under arbitrarily largeL1LBVloc perturbation of the Riemann initial data, as long as the corresponding solutions are in L and have local bounded total variation that allows the linear growth in time. We also extend our approach to deal with the uniqueness and stability of Riemann solutions containing vacuum in the class of entropy solutions in L with arbitrarily large oscillation.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the regularizing effect of a non-local operator on first-order Hamilton-Jacobi equations. We prove that there exists a unique solution that is C2 in space and C1 in time. In order to do so, we combine viscosity solution techniques and Green's function techniques. Viscosity solution theory provides the existence of a W1,∞ solution as well as uniqueness and stability results. A Duhamel's integral representation of the equation involving the Green's function permits to prove further regularity. We also state the existence of C solutions (in space and time) under suitable assumptions on the Hamiltonian. We finally give an error estimate in L norm between the viscosity solution of the pure Hamilton-Jacobi equation and the solution of the integro-differential equation with a vanishing non-local part.  相似文献

Given a continuous sublinear operator P: VC(X) from a Hausdorff separable locally convex space V to the Banach space C(X) of continuous functions on a compact set X we prove that the subdifferential ∂P at zero is operator-affinely homeomorphic to the compact subdifferential c Q, i.e., the subdifferential consisting only of compact linear operators, of some compact sublinear operator Q: ł2C(X) from a separable Hilbert space ł2, where the spaces of operators are endowed with the pointwise convergence topology. From the topological viewpoint, this means that the space L c 2, C(X)) of compact linear operators with the pointwise convergence topology is universal with respect to the embedding of the subdifferentials of sublinear operators of the class under consideration.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the long-time behavior of the reaction-diffusion equation with dynamical boundary condition, where the nonlinear terms f and g satisfy the polynomial growth condition of arbitrary order. Some asymptotic regularity of the solution has been proved. As an application of the asymptotic regularity results, we can not only obtain the existence of a global attractor A in (H1(Ω)∩Lp(Ω))×Lq(Γ) immediately, but also can show further that A attracts every L2(ΩL2(Γ)-bounded subset with (H1(Ω)∩Lp+δ(Ω))×Lq+κ(Γ)-norm for any δ,κ∈[0,).  相似文献

We study Fréchet’s problem of the universal space for the subdifferentials ?P of continuous sublinear operators P: VBC(X) which are defined on separable Banach spaces V and range in the cone BC(X) of bounded lower semicontinuous functions on a normal topological space X. We prove that the space of linear compact operators L c(? 2, C(βX)) is universal in the topology of simple convergence. Here ? 2 is a separable Hilbert space, and βX is the Stone-?ech compactification of X. We show that the images of subdifferentials are also subdifferentials of sublinear operators.  相似文献

Let X be CPn or a compact smooth quotient of the n-dimensional complex hyperbolic space, n>1. Let L be a hermitian holomorphic line bundle (with hermitian connection) on X chosen as follows: if X=CPn then L is the hyperplane bundle, and in the second case L is chosen so that L⊗(n+1)=KXE, where KX is the canonical line bundle and E is a flat line bundle. The unit circle bundle P in L is a contact manifold. Let k be a fixed positive integer. We construct certain Legendrian tori in P (the construction depends, in particular, on the choice of k) and sequences {uk}, k=km, , of holomorphic sections of Lk associated to these tori. We study asymptotics of the norms ‖ukk as m→+∞ and, in particular, apply this result to construct explicitly certain non-trivial holomorphic automorphic forms on the n-dimensional complex hyperbolic space. We obtain an n>1 analogue of the classical period formula (this is a well-known statement for automorphic forms on the upper half plane, n=1).  相似文献

In this paper we generalize the notion of essential codimension of Brown, Douglas, and Fillmore using KK-theory and prove a result which asserts that there is a unitary of the form ‘identity + compact’ which gives the unitary equivalence of two projections if the ‘essential codimension’ of two projections vanishes for certain C-algebras employing the proper asymptotic unitary equivalence of KK-theory found by M. Dadarlat and S. Eilers. We also apply our result to study the projections in the corona algebra of C(X)⊗B where X is [0,1], (−∞,∞), [0,∞), and [0,1]/{0,1}.  相似文献

The Ball Generated Property (BGP) was introduced by Corson and Lindenstrauss and subsequently analysed in detail by Godefroy and Kalton. In this work, the (BGP) is studied in spaces of operators. It is shown that (BGP) is stable under c0 and lp-sums for 1 < p < ∞ and a characterization is provided for C(K, X)-spaces with (BGP). A similar characterization is obtained for L(X, C(K))-spaces. (BGP) is shown to be stable under injective tensor products.  相似文献

A nonlinear shallow water equation, which includes the famous Camassa-Holm (CH) and Degasperis-Procesi (DP) equations as special cases, is investigated. The local well-posedness of solutions for the nonlinear equation in the Sobolev space Hs(R) with is developed. Provided that does not change sign, u0Hs () and u0L1(R), the existence and uniqueness of the global solutions to the equation are shown to be true in u(t,x)∈C([0,∞);Hs(R))∩C1([0,∞);Hs−1(R)). Conditions that lead to the development of singularities in finite time for the solutions are also acquired.  相似文献

The Friedrichs extension for the generalized spiked harmonic oscillator given by the singular differential operator −d2/dx2+Bx2+Ax−2+λxα (B>0, A?0) in L2(0,∞) is studied. We look at two different domains of definition for each of these differential operators in L2(0,∞), namely C0(0,∞) and D(T2,F)∩D(Mλ,α), where the latter is a subspace of the Sobolev space W2,2(0,∞). Adjoints of these differential operators on C0(0,∞) exist as result of the null-space properties of functionals. For the other domain, convolutions and Jensen and Minkowski integral inequalities, density of C0(0,∞) in D(T2,F)∩D(Mλ,α) in L2(0,∞) lead to the other adjoints. Further density properties C0(0,∞) in D(T2,F)∩D(Mλ,α) yield the Friedrichs extension of these differential operators with domains of definition D(T2,F)∩D(Mλ,α).  相似文献

Let M be a compact Riemannian manifold without boundary. Consider the porous media equation , u(0)=u0Lq, ? being the Laplace-Beltrami operator. Then, if q?2∨(m-1), the associated evolution is Lq-L regularizing at any time t>0 and the bound ‖u(t)‖?C(u0)/tβ holds for t<1 for suitable explicit C(u0),γ. For large t it is shown that, for general initial data, u(t) approaches its time-independent mean with quantitative bounds on the rate of convergence. Similar bounds are valid when the manifold is not compact, but u(t) approaches u≡0 with different asymptotics. The case of manifolds with boundary and homogeneous Dirichlet, or Neumann, boundary conditions, is treated as well. The proof stems from a new connection between logarithmic Sobolev inequalities and the contractivity properties of the nonlinear evolutions considered, and is therefore applicable to a more abstract setting.  相似文献

Any étale Lie groupoid G is completely determined by its associated convolution algebra Cc(G) equipped with the natural Hopfalgebroid structure. We extend this result to the generalized morphisms between étale Lie groupoids: we show that any principal H-bundle P over G is uniquely determined by the associated Cc(G)-Cc(H)-bimodule Cc(P) equipped with the natural coalgebra structure. Furthermore, we prove that the functor Ccgives an equivalence between the Morita category of étale Lie groupoids and the Morita category of locally grouplike Hopf algebroids.  相似文献

Let Cp(X) be the space of all continuous real-valued functions on a space X, with the topology of pointwise convergence. In this paper we show that Cp(X) is not domain representable unless X is discrete for a class of spaces that includes all pseudo-radial spaces and all generalized ordered spaces. This is a first step toward our conjecture that if X is completely regular, then Cp(X) is domain representable if and only if X is discrete. In addition, we show that if X is completely regular and pseudonormal, then in the function space Cp(X), Oxtoby's pseudocompleteness, strong Choquet completeness, and weak Choquet completeness are all equivalent to the statement “every countable subset of X is closed”.  相似文献

Let X be a locally compact Polish space and G a non-discrete Polish ANR group. By C(X,G), we denote the topological group of all continuous maps endowed with the Whitney (graph) topology and by Cc(X,G) the subgroup consisting of all maps with compact support. It is known that if X is compact and non-discrete then the space C(X,G) is an l2-manifold. In this article we show that if X is non-compact and not end-discrete then Cc(X,G) is an (R×l2)-manifold, and moreover the pair (C(X,G),Cc(X,G)) is locally homeomorphic to the pair of the box and the small box powers of l2.  相似文献
