Ψ-density point of a Lebesgue measurable set was introduced by Taylor in [Taylor S.J., On strengthening the Lebesgue Density Theorem, Fund. Math., 1958, 46, 305–315] and [Taylor S.J., An alternative form of Egoroff’s theorem, Fund. Math., 1960, 48, 169–174] as an answer to a problem posed by Ulam. We present a category analogue of the notion and of the Ψ-density topology. We define a category analogue of the Ψ-density point of the set A at a point x as the Ψ-density point at x of the regular open representation of A.  相似文献

The Riemann–Silberstein–Majorana–Oppenheimer complex approach to the Maxwell electrodynamics is investigated within the matrix formalism. Within the squaring procedure we construct four types of formal solutions of the Maxwell equations on the base of scalar D’Alembert solutions. General problem of separating physical electromagnetic solutions in the linear space λ0Ψ0 + λ1Ψ1 + λ2Ψ2 + λ3Ψ3 is investigated, the Maxwell equations reduce to a new form including parameters λ a . Several particular cases, plane waves and cylindrical waves, are considered in detail. Possible extension of the technique to a curved space–time models is discussed.  相似文献

The initial-boundary value problem in a domain on a straight line that is unbounded in x is considered for a singularly perturbed reaction-diffusion parabolic equation. The higher order derivative in the equation is multiplied by a parameter ɛ2, where ɛ ∈ (0, 1]. The right-hand side of the equation and the initial function grow unboundedly as x → ∞ at a rate of O(x 2). This causes the unbounded growth of the solution at infinity at a rate of O(Ψ(x)), where Ψ(x) = x 2 + 1. The initialboundary function is piecewise smooth. When ɛ is small, a boundary and interior layers appear, respectively, in a neighborhood of the lateral part of the boundary and in a neighborhood of the characteristics of the reduced equation passing through the discontinuity points of the initial function. In the problem under examination, the error of the grid solution grows unboundedly in the maximum norm as x → ∞ even for smooth solutions when ɛ is fixed. In this paper, the proximity of solutions of the initial-boundary value problem and its grid approximations is considered in the weighted maximum norm ∥·∥ w with the weighting function Ψ−1(x); in this norm, the solution of the initial-boundary value problem is ɛ-uniformly bounded. Using the method of special grids that condense in a neighborhood of the boundary layer or in neighborhoods of the boundary and interior layers, special finite difference schemes are constructed and studied that converge ɛ-uniformly in the weighted norm. It is shown that the convergence rate considerably depends on the type of nonsmoothness in the initial-boundary conditions. Grid approximations of the Cauchy problem with the right-hand side and the initial function growing as O(Ψ(x)) that converge ɛ-uniformly in the weighted norm are also considered.  相似文献

Summary. This paper is devoted to the generalization of central limit theorems for empirical processes to several types of ℓ(Ψ)-valued continuous-time stochastic processes tX t n =(X t n |ψ∈Ψ), where Ψ is a non-empty set. We deal with three kinds of situations as follows. Each coordinate process tX t n is: (i) a general semimartingale; (ii) a stochastic integral of a predictable function with respect to an integer-valued random measure; (iii) a continuous local martingale. Some applications to statistical inference problems are also presented. We prove the functional asymptotic normality of generalized Nelson-Aalen's estimator in the multiplicative intensity model for marked point processes. Its asymptotic efficiency in the sense of convolution theorem is also shown. The asymptotic behavior of log-likelihood ratio random fields of certain continuous semimartingales is derived. We consider structures of the form (Φ, Ψ, R), where Φ and Ψ are non-empty sets and R í Y×F{R\subseteq \Psi\times \Phi} is a relation whose domain is Ψ. In particular, by using a special kind of a diagonal argument, we prove that if Φ is a denumerable recursive set, Ψ is a denumerable r.e. set, and R is an r.e. relation, then there exists an infinite family of infinite recursive subsets of Φ which are not R-images of elements of Ψ. The proof is a very elementary one, without any reference even to e.g. the Snm{S_{n}^{m}}-theorem. Some consequences of the main result are also discussed.  相似文献

We consider classes of 2π-periodic functions that are represented in terms of convolutions with fixed kernels Ψ β whose Fourier coefficients tend to zero at exponential rate. We determine exact values of the best approximations of these classes in the uniform and integral metrics. We define a class of simplicial maps — those which are “expanding directions preserving” — from a barycentric subdivision to the original simplicial complex. These maps naturally induce a self map on the links of their fixed points. The local index at a fixed point of such a map turns out to be the Lefschetz number of the induced map on the link of the fixed point in relative homology. This survey paper provides first for an overview of how quantum-like concepts could be used in macroscopic environments like economics. The paper then argues for the use of the concept of a quantum mechanical wave function as an ‘information wave function’. A rationale is provided on why such interpretation is reasonable. After having defined the ‘information wave function’, Ψ(q), we argue how | Ψ(q)| 2 can be interpreted as a Radon-Nikodym derivative. We consider how we can connect, using the | Ψ(q)| 2, the Blackwell and Dubins (Ann. Math. Stat. 33:882–886, 1961) Theorem with Rényi’s (Proceedings of the Fourth Berkeley Symposium on Mathematical Statistics and Probability, 1961) measure of quantity of information. We consider affine mappings from ℝ n into ℝ n , n ≥ 1. We prove a theorem on the topological conjugacy of an affine mapping that has at least one fixed point to the corresponding linear mapping. We give a classification, up to topological conjugacy, for affine mappings from R into R and also for affine mappings from ℝ n into ℝ n , n > 1, having at least one fixed point and the nonperiodic linear part. We show that ifF is meromorphic in ℂ and Ψ k F has no zeros for somek≥3, and if the residues at the simple poles ofF are not positive integers, thenF has the formF(z)=((k-1)z+a)/(z 2+β z+γ) orF(z)=1/(az+β) where α, β, γ ∈ ℂ. If the residues at the simple poles ofF are bounded away from zero, then this also holds fork=2. We further show that, under suitable additional conditions, a family of meromorphic functionsF is normal if each Ψ k (F) has no zeros. These conditions are satisfied, in particular, if there exists δ>0 such that Re (Res(F, a)) <−δ for all polea of eachF in the family. Using the fact that Ψ k (f /f) =f (k)/f, we deduce in particular that iff andf (k) have no zeros for allf in some familyF of meromorphic functions, wherek≥2, then {f /f :fF} is normal. The problem of finding a solution of the Neumann problem for the Laplacian in the form of a simple layer potential Vρ with unknown density ρ is known to be reducible to a boundary integral equation of the second kind to be solved for density. The Neumann problem is examined in a bounded n-dimensional domain Ω+ (n > 2) with a cusp of an outward isolated peak either on its boundary or in its complement Ω = R n +. Let Γ be the common boundary of the domains Ω±, Tr(Γ) be the space of traces on Γ of functions with finite Dirichlet integral over R n , and Tr(Γ)* be the dual space to Tr(Γ). We show that the solution of the Neumann problem for a domain Ω with a cusp of an inward peak may be represented as Vρ, where ρ ∈ Tr(Γ)* is uniquely determined for all Ψ ∈ Tr(Γ)*. If Ω+ is a domain with an inward peak and if Ψ+ ∈ Tr(Γ)*, Ψ+ ⊥ 1, then the solution of the Neumann problem for Ω+ has the representation u + = Vρ+ for some ρ+ ∈ Tr(Γ)* which is unique up to an additive constant ρ0, ρ0 = V −1(1). Let (X(t)) be a risk process with reserve-dependent premium rate, delayed claims and initial capital u. Consider a class of risk processes {(X ε (t)): ε > 0} derived from (X(t)) via scaling in a slow Markov walk sense, and let Ψ_ε(u) be the corresponding ruin probability. In this paper we prove sample path large deviations for (X ε (t)) as ε → 0. As a consequence, we give exact asymptotics for log Ψ_ε(u) and we determine a most likely path leading to ruin. Finally, using importance sampling, we find an asymptotically efficient law for the simulation of Ψ_ε(u). The continuity envelope for the Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces of generalized smoothness B pq (s,Ψ)(ℝ n ) and F pq (s,Ψ)(ℝ n ), respectively, are computed in the critical case s=n/p, provided that Ψ satisfies an appropriate critical condition. Surprisingly, in this critical situation, the corresponding optimal index is ∞, when compared with all the known results. Moreover, in the particular case of the classical spaces, we solve an open problem posed by Haroske in Envelopes and Sharp Embeddings of Function Spaces, Research Notes in Mathematics, vol. 437, Chapman & Hall, Boca Raton, 2007. As an immediate application of our results we give an upper estimate for approximation numbers of related embeddings.  相似文献

We classify deformations of the standard embedding of the Lie superalgebra $ \mathcal{K} $ \mathcal{K} (2) of contact vector fields on the (1, 2)-dimensional supercircle into the Lie superalgebra SΨD(S 1|2 ) of pseudodifferential operators on the supercircle S 1|2 . The proposed approach leads to the deformations of the central charge induced on $ \mathcal{K} $ \mathcal{K} (2) by the canonical central extension of SΨD(S 1|2 ).  相似文献
