In this paper, some semismooth methods are considered to solve a nonsmooth equation which can arise from a discrete version of the well-known Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation. By using the slant differentiability introduced by Chen, Nashed and Qi in 2000, a semismooth Newton method is proposed. The method is proved to have monotone convergence by suitably choosing the initial iterative point and local superlinear convergence rate. Moreover, an inexact version of the proposed method is introduced, which reduces the cost of computations and still preserves nice convergence properties. Some numerical results are also reported.  相似文献

In 1968, Brézis [Ann. Inst. Fourier (Grenoble), 18 (1) (1968) 115-175] initiated the study of the existence theory of a class of variational inequalities later known as variational inclusions, using proximal-point mappings due to Moreau [Bull. Soc. Math. France, 93 (1965) 273-299]. Variational inclusions include variational, quasi-variational, variational-like inequalities as special cases. In 1985, Pang [Math. Prog. 31 (1985) 206-219] showed that a variety of equilibrium models can be uniformly modelled as a variational inequality defined on the product sets equivalent to a system of variational inequalities and discuss the convergence of method of decomposition for system of variational inequalities. Motivated by the recent research work in this directions, we consider some systems of variational (-like) inequalities and inclusions; develop the iterative algorithms for finding the approximate solutions and discuss their convergence criteria. Further, we study the sensitivity analysis of solution of the system of variational inclusions. The techniques and results presented here improve the corresponding techniques and results for the variational inequalities and inclusions in the literature. (© 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. We revisit a fast iterative method studied by us in [I.K. Argyros, On a two-point Newton-like method of convergent order two, Int. J. Comput. Math. 88 (2) (2005) 219-234] to approximate solutions of nonlinear operator equations. The method uses only divided differences of order one and two function evaluations per step. This time we use a simpler Kantorovich-type analysis to establish the quadratic convergence of the method in the local as well as the semilocal case. Moreover we show that in some cases our method compares favorably, and can be used in cases where other methods using similar information cannot [S. Amat, S. Busquier, V.F. Candela, A class of quasi-Newton generalized Steffensen's methods on Banach spaces, J. Comput. Appl. Math. 149 (2) (2002) 397-406; D. Chen, On the convergence of a class of generalized Steffensen's iterative procedures and error analysis, Int. J. Comput. Math. 31 (1989) 195-203]. Numerical examples are provided to justify the theoretical results.  相似文献

Summary Newton-like methods in which the intermediate systems of linear equations are solved by iterative techniques are examined. By applying the theory of inexact Newton methods radius of convergence and rate of convergence results are easily obtained. The analysis is carried out in affine invariant terms. The results are applicable to cases where the underlying Newton-like method is, for example, a difference Newton-like or update-Newton method.  相似文献

Differential mixed variational inequalities in finite dimensional spaces   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this paper, we introduce and study a class of differential mixed variational inequalities in finite dimensional Euclidean spaces. Under various conditions, we obtain linear growth and bounded linear growth of the solution set for the mixed variational inequalities. Moreover, we present some conclusions which enrich the literature on the mixed variational inequalities and generalize the corresponding results of [4]. In particular we prove existence theorems for weak solutions of a differential mixed variational inequality in the weak sense of Carathéodory by using a result on differential inclusions involving an upper semicontinuous set-valued map with closed convex values. Also by employing the results from differential inclusions we establish a convergence result on Euler time-dependent procedure for solving initial-value differential mixed variational inequalities.  相似文献

Summary A convergence theorem for Newton-like methods in Banach spaces is given, which improves results of Rheinboldt [27], Dennis [4], Miel [15, 16] and Moret [18] and includes as a special case an updated (affine-invariant [6]) version of the Kantorovich theorem for the Newton method given in previous papers [35, 36]. Error bounds obtained in [34] are also improved. This paper unifies the study of finding sharp error bounds for Newton-like methods under Kantorovich type assumptions.Sponsored by the United States Army under Contract No. DAAG29-80-C-0041 and by the Ministry of Education, Japan  相似文献

We introduce the new idea of recurrent functions to provide a semilocal convergence analysis for an inexact Newton-type method, using outer inverses. It turns out that our sufficient convergence conditions are weaker than in earlier studies in many interesting cases (Argyros, 2004 [5] and [6], Argyros, 2007 [7], Dennis, 1971 [14], Deuflhard and Heindl, 1979 [15], Gutiérrez, 1997 [16], Gutiérrez et al., 1995 [17], Häubler, 1986 [18], Huang, 1993 [19], Kantorovich and Akilov, 1982 [20], Nashed and Chen, 1993 [21], Potra, 1982 [22], Potra, 1985 [23]).  相似文献

A general approach to constructing iterative methods that solve variational inequalities is proposed. It is based on combining, modifying, and extending ideas contained in various Newton-like methods. Various algorithms can be obtained with this approach. Their convergence is proved under weak assumptions. In particular, the main mapping need not be monotone. Some rates of convergence are also given.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and study a few classes of generalized multivalued nonlinear quasivariational inclusions and generalized nonlinear quasivariational inequalities, which include many classes of variational inequalities, quasivariational inequalities and variational inclusions as special cases. Using the resolvent operator technique for maximal monotone mapping, we construct some new iterative algorithms for finding the approximate solutions of these classes of quasivariational inclusions and quasivariational inequalities. We establish the existence of solutions for this generalized nonlinear quasivariational inclusions involving both relaxed Lipschitz and strongly monotone and generalized pseudocontractive mappings and obtain the convergence of iterative sequences generated by the algorithms. Under certain conditions, we derive the existence of a unique solution for the generalized nonlinear quasivariational inequalities and obtain the convergence and stability results of the Noor type perturbed iterative algorithm. The results proved in this paper represent significant refinements and improvements of the previously known results in this area.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a system of general variational inclusions in q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. Using proximal-point mapping technique, we prove the existence and uniqueness of solution and suggest a Mann type perturbed iterative algorithm for the system of general variational inclusions. We also discuss the convergence criteria and stability of Mann type perturbed iterative algorithm. The techniques and results presented here improve the corresponding techniques and results for the variational inequalities and inclusions in the literature.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and consider some new systems of extended general variational inclusions involving seven different operators. Using the resolvent operator technique, we show that the new systems of extended general variational inclusions are equivalent to the fixed point problems. This equivalent formulation is used to suggest and analyze some new iterative methods for this system of extended general variational inclusions. We also study the convergence analysis of the new iterative method under certain mild conditions. Several special cases are also discussed. Results obtained in this paper can be viewed as pure mathematical contribution to variational analysis.  相似文献

In this article, we introduce a new viscosity iterative method for two nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces. We also prove, without commutativity assumption, that the iterates converge to a common fixed point of the mappings which solves some variational inequality. The results presented extend the corresponding results of Shimizu and Takahashi [T. Shimizu, W. Takahashi, Strong convergence to common fixed point of families of nonexpansive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 211 (1997), 71-83], and Yao and Chen [Y. Yao, R. Chen, Convergence to common fixed points of average mappings without commutativity assumption in Hilbert spaces, Nonlinear Analysis 67(2007), 1758-1763].  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and study a new class of variational inclusions, called the set-valued quasi variational inclusions. The resolvent operator technique is used to establish the equivalence between the set-valued quasi variational inclusions and the fixed point problem. This equivalence is used to study the existence of a solution and to suggest a number of iterative algorithms for solving the set-valued variational inclusions. We also study the convergence criteria of these algorithms.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and study the random variational inclusions with random fuzzy and random relaxed cocoercive mappings. We define an iterative algorithm for finding the approximate solutions of this class of variational inclusions and establish the convergence of iterative sequences generated by proposed algorithm. Our results improve and generalize many known corresponding results.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and study a new system of generalized mixed quasi-variational inclusions with (H,η)-monotone operators which contains variational inequalities, variational inclusions, systems of variational inequalities and systems of variational inclusions in the literature as special cases. By using the resolvent technique for the (H,η)-monotone operators, we prove the existence of solutions and the convergence of some new p-step iterative algorithms for this system of generalized mixed quasi-variational inclusions and its special cases. The results in this paper unifies, extends and improves some known results in the literature.  相似文献

The Inexact Newton-Like Method for Inverse Eigenvalue Problem   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this paper, we consider using the inexact Newton-like method for solving inverse eigenvalue problem. This method can minimize the oversolving problem of Newton-like methods and hence improve the efficiency. We give the convergence analysis of the method, and provide numerical tests to illustrate the improvement over Newton-like methods.  相似文献

Newton-like methods are often used for solving nonlinear equations. In the present paper, we introduce very general majorizing sequences for Newton-like methods. Then, we provide semi-local convergence results for these methods. The new convergence results can be weaker than in earlier studies. These new results are illustrated by several numerical examples and special cases of Newton-like methods, for which the older convergence conditions do not hold but for which our weaker convergence conditions are satisfied.  相似文献
