ForA any subset of () (the bounded operators on a Hilbert space) containing the unit, and and restrictions of states on () toA, ent A (|)—the entropy of relative to given the information inA—is defined and given an axiomatic characterisation. It is compared with ent A A (|)—the relative entropy introduced by Umegaki and generalised by various authors—which is defined only forA an algebra. It is proved that ent and ent S agree on pairs of normal states on an injective von Neumann algebra. It is also proved that ent always has all the most important properties known for ent S : monotonicity, concavity,w* upper semicontinuity, etc.  相似文献

In this paper we have evaluated iui, ijuij, Tr( i,u)Tr( iu), Tr( ijv) and Tr(u) whereu andv involve Pauli matrices i and the 2×2 unit matrix in the form of products of elements of the typea r=a r ii+ia r 4 with the help of the results of the trace calculation involving Dirac matrices. We have evaluated v U, S , v U v, Tr( 5 U)Tr( 5 V), Tr( 5 U) and Tr(U). HereU,V are products of an even number of elements andS, Sare products of an odd number of elements of the typeA r(=A r . We have also dealt with the cases in which the dummy suffixesi and occurring in some of the above expressions are replaced by a which assume any specific value instead of implying a summation. We have considered also the evaluation of the above-mentioned traces when the term, 1 ± 5, occurs within the trace brackets; this is required in the calculation of the traces involving i and the unit 2×2 matrix. It has been shown that the problem of the trace calculation involving Dirac matrices can be reduced to one involving three Pauli matrices i and the unit 2×2 matrix.  相似文献

We show that ifb andb are two boundary conditions (b.c.) for general spin systems on d such that the difference in the energies of a spin configuration in d is uniformly bounded, |H ,b ()–H ,b()|C < , then any infinite-volume Gibbs states and obtained with these b.c. have the same measure-zero sets. This implies that the decompositions of and into extremal Gibbs states are equivalent (mutually absolutely continuous). In particular, if is extremal,=. Application of this observation yields in an easy way (among other things) (a) the uniqueness of the Gibbs states for one-dimensional systems with forces that are not too long-range; (b) the fact that various b.c. that are natural candidates for producing non-translation-invariant Gibbs states cannot lead to such an extremal Gibbs state in two dimensions.Supported in part by NSF Grant PHY 78–15920 and by the Swiss National Foundation For Scientific Research.  相似文献

For the Ising model with nearest neighbour interaction it is shown that the spin correlations A B - A B decrease exponentially asd(A, B) in a pure phase when the temperature is well belowT c. This is used to prove that the free energyF(,h) is infinitely differentiable in and has one sided derivatives inh of all orders forh=0. The bounds are also used to prove that the central limit theorem holds for several variables such as e.g. the total energy and the total magnetization of the system, the limit distribution being gaussian with variances determined by the second derivatives ofF(,h).  相似文献

This article presents a Pauli-Dirac matrix approach to Clifford Algebras. It is shown that the algebra C2 is generated by two Pauli matrices i2 and i3; C3 is generated by the three Pauli matrices 1, 2, 3; C4 is generated by four Dirac matrices 0, 1, 2, 3 and C5 is generated by five Dirac matrices i0, i1, i2, i3, i5. The higher dimensional anticommuting matrices which generate arbitrarily high order Clifford algebras are given in closed form. The results obtained with this Clifford algebra approach are compared with the vector product method which was described in a recent article [Found. Phys. 10, 531–553 (1980) by Poole, Farach and Aharonov] and with the Dirac, Rashevskii and Ramakrishnan methods of matrix generation.Supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant ISP-80-11451.  相似文献

It is shown that the time operatorQ 0 appearing in the realization of the RCCR's [Q,Pv]=–jhgv, on Minkowski quantum spacetime is a self adjoint operator on Hilbert space of square integrable functions over m =×v m , where is a timelike hyperplane. This result leads to time-energy uncertainty relations that match their space-momentum counterparts. The operators Q appearing in Born's metric operator in quantum spacetime emerge as internal spacetime operators for exciton states, and the condition that the metric operator should possess a ground exciton state assumes the significance of achieving minimal spacetime4-momentum uncertainty in fundamental standards for spacetime measurements.Supported in part by NSERC research grant No. A5206.  相似文献

The paper considers the effect of nonuniform structure in the centers on the ESR spectrum for the case of axial anisotropy in the g factor; it is shown that if (2 >2 , ¦ >), the model enables one to describe fairly completely the spectrum of a glass containing 33% Na2O and 67% SiO2. Good agreement with all experimental evidence is not obtained for potassium silicate glasses.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii Fizika, No. 6, pp. 86–90, June, 1971.  相似文献

The2H(d, )4He differential cross section was measured at deuteron laboratory energies of 20, 24, and 28 MeV between cm=45° and cm=135°. AtE d =28 MeV a complete angular distribution was determined and fitted with Legendre polynomials. The ratioR=d/d (cm=90°)/d/d (cm=135°) was measured for each deuteron energy.  相似文献

In a recent note Barber showed, for a spin-1/2 Ising system with ferromagnetic pair interactions, that some critical exponents of the triplet order parameter i j k are the same as those of the magnetization i . Here we prove such results for all odd correlations and dispense with the requirement of pair interactions. We also prove that the critical temperatureT c , defined as the temperature below which there is a spontaneous magnetization, is for fixed even spin interactionsJ e independent of the way in which the odd interactionsJ o approach zero from above. This is achieved by using only the simplest, Griffiths-Kelley-Sherman (GKS), inequalities, which apply to the most general many-spin, ferromagnetic interactions.Research supported in part by NSF Grant #MPS 75-20638.  相似文献

A general formulation is given of Simon's Ising model inequality: whereB is any set of spins separating from . We show that b can be replaced by b A whereA is the spin system insideB containing . An advantage of this is that a finite algorithm can be given to compute the transition temperature to any desired accuracy. The analogous inequality for plane rotors is shown to hold if a certain conjecture can be proved. This conjecture is indeed verified in the simplest case, and leads to an upper bound on the critical temperature. (The conjecture has been proved in general by Rivasseau. The contact process onZ has one phase transition; let c be the critical value at which the transition occurs. Let N be the extinction time of the contact process on {0,...,N}. Durrett and Liu (1988), Durrett and Schonmann (1988), and Durrett, Schonmann, and Tanaka (1989) have respectively proved that the subcritical, supercritical, and critical phases can be characterized using a large finite system (instead ofZ) in the following way. There are constants 1() and 2() such that if < c , lim N N /logN = 1/1(); if > c , lim N log N /N = 2(); if = c , lim N N /N= and lim N N /N 4=0 in probability. In this paper we consider the asymmetric contact process onZ when it has two distinct critical values c1< c2. The arguments of Durrett and Liu and of Durrett and Schonmann hold for < c1 and > c2. We show that for [ c1< c2), lim N N /N=-1/, (where i is an edge speed) and for = c2, lim N log N /logN=2 in probability.  相似文献

The symmetric spin-boson model without external field is treated for any type of coupling to the boson bath and any initial bath density matrix. With initially fully aligned spin (z (0)= =1), the proof is given that a partial relaxation (z (+) t1<) implies that there is no asymptotic-time (up-and-down) symmetry breaking (i.e. that z (+)=0). For the problem of a particle (interacting with free bosons) in a symmetric double well without spatial symmetry breaking before the infinite time limit, this means that att + the particle distribution becomes symmetric (irrespective of the full initial asymmetry) unless the particle fully remains (att + ) in Ihe starting well.  相似文献

The contribution of nonperturbative corrections, proportional to the quark and gluon vacuum condensates, to the ratio R=L/T, where L and T are the cross sections for longitudinal and transversal photon scattering by nucleons, is calculated. It is shown that these condensate corrections amount to 30% in the range 0.1相似文献

H2-induced changes of electrical conductivity in polycrystalline, undoped -Ga2O3 thin films in the temperature range of 400–650° C are described. The sheet conductance of these films depends reversibly, according to a power law p 1/3, on the partial pressure of hydrogen in the ambient atmosphere of the Ga2O3 film. A bulk vacancy mechanism is excluded by experiments and it is shown that the interaction is based on a surface effect. Changes in conductance are discussed to result from the formation of an accumulation layer due to chemisorption on the grain surfaces. Typical coverages are determined to be approximately 10–4 ML for pH2=0.05 bar and T=600° C. A possible explanation of the p 1/3 power law is provided.  相似文献

We find the asymptotic decrease of correlations < A +y , B >,yZ v +1, |y|, in the Ising model at high temperatures. For the case when monomials A and B both are odd, using the saddle-point method, we find the asymptotics of the correlations for any dimension . For even monomials A , B we formulate a general hypothesis about the form of the asymptotics and confirm it in two cases: (1) =1 and the vectory has an arbitrary direction, (2)y is directed along a fixed axis and arbitrary . Here we use besides the saddle-point method, some arguments from scattering theory.  相似文献

A class of the asymptotically Euclidian space-times is shown to exist for which the Schwarzschild mass is equal to zero. The coordinate atlases of these space-times satisfy two additional conditions: k (-gg 0k )=0 and ik 0 0g ik - ik k 0g 0i =0. In aT-orthogonal metricgs 2=g 00 dt 2 -g dx dx these conditions take a simple form: 0(detg )=0 and (0 g )(0 g )=0.  相似文献

Scattering effects are considered for radiative transfer within randomly distributed and binary mixtures in one dimension. The most general formalism is developed within the framework of the invariant imbedding method. The lengthL of the random sample thus appears as a new variable. One transmission coefficientT(L) suffices to specify locally the intensities. By analogy with the homogeneous situation, one introduces an effective opacity with T=(1+eff L)–1 fulfilling eff<=p 00+p 11(0 and 1 refer, respectively, to the components involved in the mixture). Equality is reached whenL0, . Otherwise, eff displays a deep transmission window. It is numerically expressed for three combinations of opacities (0,1) and average grain sizes (0, 1). These results are of crucial concern in optimizing an ICF compression for a pellet nonuniformly illuminated by intense laser or ion beams.  相似文献

The ring (Frobenius algebra) of local observables for topological -models on 1 with values in the grassmannianG(s, n) is known to be the same as the quotient of the homology ring of the target space by the (inhomogeneous) ideal generated by the so-called quantum correction. While the need for a quantum correction comes from algebraic motivations in field theory, the aim of this paper is to understand its geometric meaning. The simple examples of 1 n models tell us that the quantum correction comes by restriction on the boundary of the moduli spaces which allows to compute intersections on moduli spaces of lower degrees. We will check this point of view for the case of 1 G(s,n) models, yielding a proof of the algebraic result from physics in terms of the geometry of the -model itself.Work partially supported by National Project 40% Probabilistic and geometrical methods in Mathematical Physics and by CNR-Gruppo Nazionale di Fisica Matematica.  相似文献

We present a model of a one-dimensional extended relativistic object, whose motion is defined by the requirement that its time track in Minkowski space is a surface of the constant mean curvature H. The world surface of the relativistic string is a particular case of such surfaces, namely, a minimal surface with H=0. By differential-geometry methods the theory of the proposed object moving in three-dimensional space-time is reduced to one nonlinear equation = Hsh. In the theory under consideration, there naturally arises the pair of Lax's operators needed to solve this nonlinear equation by the inverse scattering method.  相似文献
