Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is considered a promising anode material for high‐power lithium ion batteries (LIBs) because of its low cost, high thermal/chemical stability, and good safety performance without solid electrolyte interface formation. However, the poor electronic conductivity and low lithium ion diffusivity of TiO2 result in poor cyclability and lithium ion depletion at high current rates, which hinder them from practical applications. Herein we demonstrate that hierarchically structured TiO2 microboxes with controlled internal porosity can address the aforementioned problems for high‐power, long‐life LIB anodes. A self‐templating method for the synthesis of mesoporous microboxes was developed through Na2EDTA‐assisted ion exchange of CaTiO3 microcubes. The resulting TiO2 nanorods were organized into microboxes that resemble the microcube precursors. This nanostructured TiO2 material has superior lithium storage properties with a capacity of 187 mAh g−1 after 300 cycles at 1 C and good rate capabilities up to 20 C.  相似文献

A simple and efficient pathway has been designed and developed to synthesize mesoporous Co1.29Ni1.71O4 nanostructures without the use of any templates. By adjusting the volume ratio of water to ethanol, the Co1.29Ni1.71O4 microstructure can be facilely controlled, and different nanostructures such as microflowers, nanorods, and nanoparticles were obtained. All three as‐synthesized samples have a mesoporous structure, but with different pore‐size distributions, in which the nanorod sample exhibits the highest capacity, good rate capability, and cycle stability as an anode material in lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs). The possible reason might be that the one‐dimensional structure of the nanorods accounts for their higher conductivity relative to microflowers and nanoparticles, and their high conductivity coupled with their mesoporous structure might contribute to their excellent electrochemical performance.  相似文献

Transition metal oxides are regarded as promising anode materials for lithium‐ion batteries because of their high theoretical capacities compared with commercial graphite. Unfortunately, the implementation of such novel anodes is hampered by their large volume changes during the Li+ insertion and extraction process and their low electric conductivities. Herein, we report a specifically designed anode architecture to overcome such problems, that is, mesoporous peapod‐like Co3O4@carbon nanotube arrays, which are constructed through a controllable nanocasting process. Co3O4 nanoparticles are confined exclusively in the intratubular pores of the nanotube arrays. The pores between the nanotubes are open, and thus render the Co3O4 nanoparticles accessible for effective electrolyte diffusion. Moreover, the carbon nanotubes act as a conductive network. As a result, the peapod‐like Co3O4@carbon nanotube electrode shows a high specific capacity, excellent rate capacity, and very good cycling performance.  相似文献

Volume expansion and poor conductivity are two major obstacles that hinder the pursuit of the lithium‐ion batteries with long cycling life and high power density. Herein, we highlight a misfit compound PbNbS3 with a soft/rigid superlattice structure, confirmed by scanning tunneling microscopy and electrochemical characterization, as a promising anode material for high performance lithium‐ion batteries with optimized capacity, stability, and conductivity. The soft PbS sublayers primarily react with lithium, endowing capacity and preventing decomposition of the superlattice structure, while the rigid NbS2 sublayers support the skeleton and enhance the migration of electrons and lithium ions, as a result leading to a specific capacity of 710 mAh g?1 at 100 mA g?1, which is 1.6 times of NbS2 and 3.9 times of PbS. Our finding reveals the competitive strategy of soft/rigid structure in lithium‐ion batteries and broadens the horizons of single‐phase anode material design.  相似文献

Flexible lithium‐ion batteries are critical for the next‐generation electronics. However, during the practical application, they may break under deformations such as twisting and cutting, causing their failure to work or even serious safety problems. A new family of all‐solid‐state and flexible aqueous lithium ion batteries that can self‐heal after breaking has been created by designing aligned carbon nanotube sheets loaded with LiMn2O4 and LiTi2(PO4)3 nanoparticles on a self‐healing polymer substrate as electrodes, and a new kind of lithium sulfate/sodium carboxymethylcellulose serves as both gel electrolyte and separator. The specific capacity, rate capability, and cycling performance can be well maintained after repeated cutting and self‐healing. These self‐healing batteries are demonstrated to be promising for wearable devices.  相似文献

It is a very urgent and important task to improve the safety and high‐temperature performance of lithium/lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs). Here, a novel ionic liquid, 1‐(2‐ethoxyethyl)‐1‐methylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide (PYR1(2o2)TFSI), was designed and synthesized, and then mixed with dimethyl carbonate (DMC) as appropriate solvent and LiTFSI lithium salt to produce an electrolyte with high ionic conductivity for safe LIBs. Various characterizations and tests show that the highly flexible ether group could markedly reduce the viscosity and provide coordination sites for Li‐ion, and the DMC could reduce the viscosity and effectively enhance the Li‐ion transport rate and transference number. The electrolyte exhibits excellent electrochemical performance in Li/LiFeO4 cells at room temperature as well as at a high temperature of 60 °C. More importantly, with the addition of DMC, the IL‐based electrolyte remains nonflammable and appropriate DMC can effectively inhibit the growth of lithium dendrites. Our present work may provide an attractive and promising strategy for high performance and safety of both lithium and lithium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Of the various beyond‐lithium‐ion battery technologies, lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries have an appealing theoretical energy density and are being intensely investigated as next‐generation rechargeable lithium‐metal batteries. However, the stability of the lithium‐metal (Li°) anode is among the most urgent challenges that need to be addressed to ensure the long‐term stability of Li–S batteries. Herein, we report lithium azide (LiN3) as a novel electrolyte additive for all‐solid‐state Li–S batteries (ASSLSBs). It results in the formation of a thin, compact and highly conductive passivation layer on the Li° anode, thereby avoiding dendrite formation, and polysulfide shuttling. It greatly enhances the cycling performance, Coulombic and energy efficiencies of ASSLSBs, outperforming the state‐of‐the‐art additive lithium nitrate (LiNO3).  相似文献

Graphite shows great potential as an anode material for rechargeable metal‐ion batteries because of its high abundance and low cost. However, the electrochemical performance of graphite anode materials for rechargeable potassium‐ion batteries needs to be further improved. Reported herein is a natural graphite with superior rate performance and cycling stability obtained through a unique K+‐solvent co‐intercalation mechanism in a 1 m KCF3SO3 diethylene glycol dimethyl ether electrolyte. The co‐intercalation mechanism was demonstrated by ex situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and in situ X‐ray diffraction. Moreover, the structure of the [K‐solvent]+ complexes intercalated with the graphite and the conditions for reversible K+‐solvent co‐intercalation into graphite are proposed based on the experimental results and first‐principles calculations. This work provides important insights into the design of natural graphite for high‐performance rechargeable potassium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Carbon‐based transition‐metal oxides are considered as an appropriate anode material candidate for lithium‐ion batteries. Herein, a simple and scalable dry production process is developed to produce carbon‐encapsulated 3D net‐like FeOx /C materials. The process is simply associated with the pyrolysis of a solid carbon source, such as filter paper, adsorbed with ferrite nitrate. The carbon derived from filter paper induces a carbothermal reduction to form metallic Fe, the addition of carbon and iron increase the conductivity of this material. As expected, this 3D net‐like FeOx /C composite delivers an excellent charge capacity of 851.3 mAh g−1 after 50 cycles at 0.2 A g−1 as well as high stability and rate performance of 714.7 mAh g−1 after 300 cycles at 1 A g−1. Superior performance, harmlessness, low costs, and high yield may greatly stimulate the practical application of the products as anode materials in lithium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Tin oxide nanoparticles (SnO2 NPs) have been encapsulated in situ in a three‐dimensional ordered space structure. Within this composite, ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) acts as a carbon framework showing a desirable ordered mesoporous structure with an average pore size (≈6 nm) and a high surface area (470.3 m2 g?1), and the SnO2 NPs (≈10 nm) are highly loaded (up to 80 wt %) and homogeneously distributed within the OMC matrix. As an anode material for lithium‐ion batteries, a SnO2@OMC composite material can deliver an initial charge capacity of 943 mAh g?1 and retain 68.9 % of the initial capacity after 50 cycles at a current density of 50 mA g?1, even exhibit a capacity of 503 mA h g?1 after 100 cycles at 160 mA g?1. In situ encapsulation of the SnO2 NPs within an OMC framework contributes to a higher capacity and a better cycling stability and rate capability in comparison with bare OMC and OMC ex situ loaded with SnO2 particles (SnO2/OMC). The significantly improved electrochemical performance of the SnO2@OMC composite can be attributed to the multifunctional OMC matrix, which can facilitate electrolyte infiltration, accelerate charge transfer, and lithium‐ion diffusion, and act as a favorable buffer to release reaction strains for lithiation/delithiation of the SnO2 NPs.  相似文献

Carbon nanomaterials, especially graphene and carbon nanotubes, are considered to be favorable alternatives to graphite‐based anodes in lithium‐ion batteries, owing to their high specific surface area, electrical conductivity, and excellent mechanical flexibility. However, the limited number of storage sites for lithium ions within the sp2‐carbon hexahedrons leads to the low storage capacity. Thus, rational structure design is essential for the preparation of high‐performance carbon‐based anode materials. Herein, we employed flexible single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) with ultrahigh electrical conductivity as a wrapper for 3D graphene foam (GF) by using a facile dip‐coating process to form a binary network structure. This structure, which offered high electrical conductivity, enlarged the electrode/electrolyte contact area, shortened the electron‐/ion‐transport pathways, and allowed for efficient utilization of the active material, which led to improved electrochemical performance. When used as an anode in lithium‐ion batteries, the SWCNT‐GF electrode delivered a specific capacity of 953 mA h g?1 at a current density of 0.1 A g?1 and a high reversible capacity of 606 mA h g?1 after 1000 cycles, with a capacity retention of 90 % over 1000 cycles at 1 A g?1 and 189 mA h g?1 after 2200 cycles at 5 A g?1.  相似文献

Lithium metal is an ideal electrode material for future rechargeable lithium metal batteries. However, the widespread deployment of metallic lithium anode is significantly hindered by its dendritic growth and low Coulombic efficiency, especially in ester solvents. Herein, by rationally manipulating the electrolyte solvation structure with a high donor number solvent, enhancement of the solubility of lithium nitrate in an ester‐based electrolyte is successfully demonstrated, which enables high‐voltage lithium metal batteries. Remarkably, the electrolyte with a high concentration of LiNO3 additive presents an excellent Coulombic efficiency up to 98.8 % during stable galvanostatic lithium plating/stripping cycles. A full‐cell lithium metal battery with a lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide cathode exhibits a stable cycling performance showing limited capacity decay. This approach provides an effective electrolyte manipulation strategy to develop high‐voltage lithium metal batteries.  相似文献

Mesoporous nickel oxide nanowires were synthesized by a hydrothermal reaction and subsequent annealing at 400 °C. The porous one‐dimensional nanostructures were analysed by field‐emission SEM, high‐resolution TEM and N2 adsorption/desorption isotherm measurements. When applied as the anode material in lithium‐ion batteries, the as‐prepared mesoporous nickel oxide nanowires demonstrated outstanding electrochemical performance with high lithium storage capacity, satisfactory cyclability and an excellent rate capacity. They also exhibited a high specific capacitance of 348 F g?1 as electrodes in supercapacitors.  相似文献

A new super‐concentrated aqueous electrolyte is proposed by introducing a second lithium salt. The resultant ultra‐high concentration of 28 m led to more effective formation of a protective interphase on the anode along with further suppression of water activities at both anode and cathode surfaces. The improved electrochemical stability allows the use of TiO2 as the anode material, and a 2.5 V aqueous Li‐ion cell based on LiMn2O4 and carbon‐coated TiO2 delivered the unprecedented energy density of 100 Wh kg?1 for rechargeable aqueous Li‐ion cells, along with excellent cycling stability and high coulombic efficiency. It has been demonstrated that the introduction of a second salts into the “water‐in‐salt” electrolyte further pushed the energy densities of aqueous Li‐ion cells closer to those of the state‐of‐the‐art Li‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Surface modification of electrode active materials has garnered considerable attention as a facile way to meet stringent requirements of advanced lithium‐ion batteries. Here, we demonstrated a new coating strategy based on dual layers comprising antimony‐doped tin oxide (ATO) nanoparticles and carbon. The ATO nanoparticles are synthesized via a hydrothermal method and act as electronically conductive/electrochemically active materials. The as‐synthesized ATO nanoparticles are introduced on natural graphite along with citric acid used as a carbon precursor. After carbonization, the carbon/ATO‐decorated natural graphite (c/ATO‐NG) is produced. In the (carbon/ATO) dual‐layer coating, the ATO nanoparticles coupled with the carbon layer exhibit unprecedented synergistic effects. The resultant c/ATO‐NG anode materials display significant improvements in capacity (530 mA h g?1), cycling retention (capacity retention of 98.1 % after 50 cycles at a rate of C/5), and low electrode swelling (volume expansion of 38 % after 100 cycles) which outperform that of typical graphite materials. Furthermore, a full‐cell consisting of a c/ATO‐NG anode and an LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 cathode presents excellent cycle retention (capacity retention of >80 % after 100 cycles). We envision that the dual‐layer coating concept proposed herein opens a new route toward high‐performance anode materials for lithium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Lithium metal is used to achieve high‐energy‐density batteries due to its large theoretical capacity and low negative electrochemical potential. The introduction of quasi‐solid electrolytes simultaneously overcomes the safety problems induced by the liquid electrolytes and the high interfacial resistance issues confronted by all solid‐state electrolytes. In‐depth investigations involving interfacial behaviors in quasi‐solid lithium metal batteries are inadequate. Herein an ultrathin Li3OCl quasi‐solid‐state electrolyte layer (500 nm thickness) is used to cover a lithium anode. The polarization of the anode is remarkably reduced by introducing the Li3OCl quasi‐solid‐state electrolyte. In contrast to the decomposition of solvents in a standard electrolyte (EC‐DEC,1.0 m LiPF6), the established quasi‐solid‐state electrolyte interfaces can significantly inhibit the decomposition of solvents when the cut‐off voltage is 4.5 V.  相似文献

We report the first organically synthesized sp–sp3 hybridized porous carbon, OSPC‐1. This new carbon shows electron conductivity, high porosity, the highest uptake of lithium ions of any carbon material to‐date, and the ability to inhibit dangerous lithium dendrite formation. The new carbon exhibits exceptional potential as anode material for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) with high capacity, excellent rate capability, long cycle life, and potential for improved safety performance.  相似文献

A mesoporous flake‐like manganese‐cobalt composite oxide (MnCo2O4) is synthesized successfully through the hydrothermal method. The crystalline phase and morphology of the materials are characterized by X‐ray diffraction, field‐emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller methods. The flake‐like MnCo2O4 is evaluated as the anode material for lithium‐ion batteries. Owing to its mesoporous nature, it exhibits a high reversible capacity of 1066 mA h g?1, good rate capability, and superior cycling stability. As an electrode material for supercapacitors, the flake‐like MnCo2O4 also demonstrates a high supercapacitance of 1487 F g?1 at a current density of 1 A g?1, and an exceptional cycling performance over 2000 charge/discharge cycles.  相似文献

α‐Fe2O3 nanoparticles are uniformly coated on the surface of α‐MoO3 nanorods through a two‐step hydrothermal synthesis method. As the anode of a lithium‐ion battery, α‐Fe2O3@α‐MoO3 core–shell nanorods exhibit extremely high lithium‐storage performance. At a rate of 0.1 C (10 h per half cycle), the reversible capacity of α‐Fe2O3@α‐MoO3 core–shell nanorods is 1481 mA h g?1 and a value of 1281 mA h g?1 is retained after 50 cycles, which is much higher than that retained by bare α‐MoO3 and α‐Fe2O3 and higher than traditional theoretical results. Such a good performance can be attributed to the synergistic effect between α‐Fe2O3 and α‐MoO3, the small size effect, one‐dimensional nanostructures, short paths for lithium diffusion, and interface spaces. Our results reveal that core–shell nanocomposites have potential applications as high‐performance lithium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Herein, an approach is reported to prepare porous a carbon/Ge (C/Ge) hybrid. In this hybrid, Ge nanoparticles are closely embedded in a highly conductive and flexible carbon matrix. Such a hybrid features a high surface area (128.0 m2 g?1) and a hierarchical micropore–mesopore structure. When used as an anode material in lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs), the as‐prepared hybrid [C/Ge (60.37 %)] exhibits an improved lithium storage performance with regard to its capacity and rate capability compared to its counterparts. More specifically, it can maintain a specific capacity as high as 906 mAh g?1 at a high current density of 0.6 A g?1 after 50 cycles. The excellent lithium storage performance of the C/Ge (60.37 %) sample can be attributed to synergetic effects between the carbon matrix and Ge nanoparticles. The method we adopted is simple and effective, and can be extended to fabricate other nanomaterials.  相似文献
